Abstract

Numeracy literacy is a skill that students must have in the independent curriculum (kurikulum merdeka). But in reality, the numeracy literacy skills of Indonesian students are generally low at every level of education. Because in the independent curriculum (kurikulum merdeka) the learning applied is the Differentiated Learning, it needs to be adapted to the learning style of the learners. For this reason, teachers must obtain an overview of the numeracy literacy skills and learning styles of students. The purpose of this research is to describe the numeracy literacy skills of junior high school students in terms of their learning styles. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research. The subjects in this study were seventh grade students spread across six public junior high schools. The instruments used were questionnaires and numeracy literacy tests. The data obtained were processed using two-way analysis of variance. From the results of the study it was found that in general the numeracy literacy skills of junior high school students were still low. There is no difference in the numeracy literacy skills of students based on learning styles but there are differences between schools. Learners with auditory style have better ability than visual and kinesthetic.

Abstract

Proses belajar siswa yang masih kurang dan hasil belajar siswa masih rendah menjadi latar belakang penelitian ini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana hasil belajar siswa menggunakan model pembelajaran problem based learning di kelas VIII SMPN 2 2x11 Enam Lingkung. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kuantitatif dengan dengan pengambilan subjek penelitian secara Purposive Sampling. Sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIII.2 SMPN 2 2x11 Enam Lingkung. Penelitian ini menggunakan instrumen tes akhir berbentuk soal uraian. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan pembahasan dapat dikemukakan bahwa hasil belajar siswa menggunakan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning di kelas VIII.2 SMPN 2 2x11 Enam Lingkung berada sekitar 50% di atas kriteria ketuntasan minimal.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the understanding of students' mathematical concepts in the learning process which is still low. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is an effect of learning models on students' understanding of mathematical concepts and to determine whether there is an effect of students' academic ability level on students' understanding of mathematical concepts in Phase F IPA MAN 1 Padang Pariaman. This type of research is posstest-only control group design. This study uses the one-sample kolmogorof-smirnov method to determine whether the data under study is normally distributed. The data analysis technique in this study is the ANCOVA Test with the help of SPSS 22.0 Windows. From the results of the ANCOVA Test calculation, the sig value = 0.000 is obtained which means sig <0.05 then H_0 is rejected, so it can be concluded that there is a significant effect of the learning model on the understanding of mathematical concepts of Phase F science students MAN 1 Padang Pariaman. For the level of students' academic ability, sig < 0.05 is obtained, so it can be concluded that the level of students' academic ability affects the understanding of students' mathematical concepts.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemampuan pemecahan masalah berdasarkan self confidence siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh salah satu kemampuan yang harus dimiliki oleh siswa yaitu kemampuan pemecahan masalah. Jenis penelitian yang dilakukan adalah penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII 1 SMPN 1 Nan Sabaris dengan jumlah 24 siswa. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan berupa tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah, angkat self confidence dan wawancara. Dideskripsikan berdasarkan hasil tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah, angket self confidence dan wawancara. Kemampuan pemecahan masalah tinggi dengan self confidence tinggi 8,33%, kemampuan pemecahan masalah tinggi self confidence 20,8% dan kemmapuan pemecahan masalah tinggi self confidence rendah adalah 4,16%. Untuk kemampuan pemecahan masalah sedang dengan self confidence tinggi 4,16%, kemampuan pemecahan masalah sedang slef confidence sedang 20,8%,dan unruk kemampuan pemecahan masalah sedang self confidence rendah 0%. Kemampuan pemecahan masalah rendah dengan self confidence tinggi 8,33%, kemampuan pemecahan masalah rendah self confidence sedang 25%, dan untuk kemampuan pemecahan masalah rendah slef confidence rendah alahag 8,33%.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD) berbasis Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) di kelas VII SMPN 1 Kecamatan Lareh Sago Halaban yang valid dan praktis. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kualitas bahan ajar  di SMPN 1 Kecamatan Lareh Sago Halaban belum mampu membuat peserta didik menjadi aktif dan belajar mandiri dalam menyelesaikan permasalahan matematika. Permasalahan tersebut akan diatasi dengan mengembangkan sebuah bahan ajar seperti Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran yang mampu menjadikan peserta didik menjadi aktif dalam proses pembelajaran. Bahan ajar yang diharapkan peserta didik yaitu bahan ajar yang membuat peserta didik aktif dalam proses pembelajaran dan mampu membimbing peserta didik untuk belajar mandiri. Prosedur pengembangan yang digunakan yaitu model pengembangan 4-D yang terdiri dari 4 tahapan yaitu tahap pendefinisian (define), tahap perancangan (design), tahap pengembangan (develop), tahap penyebaran (dissemination). Penelitian ini hanya sampai tahap pengembangan, dikarenakan hanya mengembangkan produk yang valid. Tahap pendefinisian terdiri atas analisis awal, analisis peserta didik, analisis buku paket, analisis silabus kelas VII. Tahap perancangan terdiri atas merancang Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik berbasis Realistic Mathematics Education pada materi aritmatika sosial, selanjutnya merancang instrument penelitian. Tahap pengembangan terdiri atas tahap validasi dan tahap wawancara. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu angket validitas dan pedoman wawancara. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data bahwa Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik yang dikembangkan berada pada kriteria sangat valid dengan rata-rata 85,32%. Kesimpulan penelitian ini menghasilkan LKPD berbasis Realistic Mathematics Education yang valid pada materi aritmatika sosial di kelas VII SMPN 1 Kecamatan Lareh Sago Halaban.

Abstract

In this 4.0 era, the use of English as a mean of communications playing a vital role to work in many parts such as technology, education, communication and many others. It is true that not all people can communicate in English fluently and clearly. Luckily, some people or students especially, use bilingualism to study or learn English. Many of them think by using bilingualism they still can interact or communicate by using English as a mean of interaction. Focus of this research was to find out how the bilingualism improve the English student ability. This research used a descriptive qualitative research. Data were collected by using questionnaire and interview guideline. Data were analyzed by using the content analysis and the theory used was proposed by Hoffman 1991. Population of the research was all of students of English for mathematics consisting 35 students. This research used total sampling for instrument using questionnaire and used purposive sampling for the semi-structure interview. The research shows that bilingualism occur in the classroom interaction such as talking about particular topic, quoting somebody else, being emphatic about something, interjection, repetition used for clarification, expressing a group of identity and intention of clarifying the speech content for interlocutor. From the analysis, it is seen that mostly bilingualism used by the students to study about particular topics such as term, theme and content. The least used by student is on the intention of clarifying the speech content for interlocutor because the students always think that what the people say are true and they don’t know how to express the clarification in English. However, for the English learning, bilingualism has already helped both the lecturers and students to interact and communicate about various topics. It is a good start to introduce English as the foreign language In Indonesian Higher Education where English is still considered as the foreign language.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan lembar kerja peserta didik sistem pertidaksamaan dua variabel berbasis Problem Based Learning siswa kelas X IIS 2 SMA dan mendeskripsikan kualitas lembar kerja peserta didik yang dikembangkan berdasarkan kevalidan dan kepraktisan lembar kerja peserta didik Prosedur penelitian yang digunakan adalah model ADDIE yang peneliti ambil empat langkah pengembangan antara lain a. analisis, b. perancangan, c. pengembangan, dan d. penerapan. Subjek penelitian ini adalah sembilan orang siswa kelas X IIS 2 dengan kriteria 3 orang tinggi, 3 orang sedang, dan 3 orang rendah untuk penilaian lembar kerja peserta didik Instrumen penelitian ini terdiri dari lembar validasi ahli, angket respon siswa,serta hasil belajar siswa pada lembar kerja peserta didik Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa lembar kerja peserta didik yang dikembangkan mengalami revisi berdasarkan komentar dan saran perbaikan dari validator, guru, dan siswa. Kerja peserta yang dikembangkan dikategori baik, karena karyawan peserta peserta didik kualitas kriteria skor rata-rata yaitu 70 dengan kategori kevalidan “sangat valid”, dan kriteria kepraktisan diperoleh skor yaitu 56,22 dengan kategori kepraktisan “praktis” pada uji coba sembilan siswa .

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to develop a valid and practical E-LKPD based on Realistic Mathematics Education at SMAN 2 Koto Baru Dharmasraya. This type of research is research development (Research & Development). The development model used is the Plomp development model. The stages used in this development model only reached the second stage, namely the preliminary research and prototyping phase. The instruments used in this study were validity questionnaires, practicality questionnaires and interview guidelines. Based on the results of data analysis, it was found that the RME-based E-LKPD developed obtained an E-LKPD validity of 80.486% with a very valid category. The final practicality score that obtained the E-LKPD practicality result was 82.832% with a very valid category. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the RME-based E-LKPD on sequences and series material at SMAN 2 Koto Baru Dharmasraya is stated to be valid and practical for use by educators and students in learning activities.

Abstract

Taiwan's rapid development in education is evidenced by its high ranking in the 2022 PISA assessment, making it an attractive destination for international students. National Dong Hwa University, particularly its Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering (CSIE), has become popular among these students. This study focuses on the impact of integrating local and international students in calculus courses, a required subject, due to the close relationship between mathematics and computer science. The study sampled 14 international and 14 local first-year students, collecting data through questionnaires to assess their self-confidence, communication skills, and motivation. At the same time, academic performance was measured through midterm exam scores. The findings revealed significant differences in academic performance, self-confidence, and communication between local and international students, with p-values of .024*, .016*, and .012*, respectively. Among international students, self-confidence and communication were significantly correlated with academic performance (p=.013* and p=.026*), while for local students, a significant relationship was found between scores and communication (p=.035*).

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to explore higher education students’ perspectives on the ethno-mathematics course as a means to introduce local culture and its values. The research specifically examines the ethno-mathematical concepts represented in Rumah Gadang, a traditional building in Batusangkar, West Sumatra. Method: A qualitative approach with an ethnographic design was used in this research. Data were collected from 35 students enrolled in the ethno-mathematics course at a private university through qualitative questionnaires. In addition, two cultural experts were interviewed using semi-structured interview questions. The data were analyzed using content analysis to identify key themes related to shapes, space, measurement, and arithmetic as reflected in Rumah Gadang. Findings: The results show that all students agreed on the importance of integrating ethno-mathematics in their learning. The students demonstrated increased interest and appreciation for mathematics when it was linked to cultural contexts. They recognized the relevance of mathematical concepts such as shape, space, measurement, and arithmetic in the design and philosophy of Rumah Gadang. Insights from interviews with cultural experts further confirmed that Rumah Gadang embodies mathematical reasoning that is closely connected to cultural identity and local values. Significance: The research demonstrates that ethno-mathematics courses can effectively foster cultural appreciation and help preserve local heritage among university students. This encourages students to see mathematics as not only a universal science but also a reflection of cultural traditions. The study highlights the value of using local cultural artifacts as authentic contexts in mathematics education, with implications for curriculum development that supports both academic achievement and cultural preservation.
