Abstract

ABSTRACT The background of this research is about a low understanding of mathematical concept of student’s math and a less change they have to be participated toward assignment which is given in learning process The purpose of this research is to know whether the understanding of mathematical conceptwith cooperative learning model Kancing Gemerincing technique will be better than a conventional learning technique toward student grade VIII of Junior High School 6 Lubuk Basung. The kind of this research is experimental research by a random design toward a subject. The population of this research is all of students in grade VIII Junior High School 6 Lubuk Basung academic year 2013/2014 that consists of 4 classes. The technique sampling of this research is collected randomly. In this case, class VIII A is chosen as experiment class and class VIII B is chosen as control class. Therefore, understanding of mathematical concepttest is used as instrument. The kind of test is an essay with 0, 87 test reliability. The technique analysis data is t test one way. Based on the result of testing hypothesis t_tabel=1,645 and t_hitung= 2, 5137 because t_hitung > t_tabel, it means the hypothesis is accepted on real level of α = 0, 05. It can be concluded that the understanding concept of student’s math by applying cooperative learning model Kancing Gemerincing technique is better than a conventional learning technique toward students grade VIII of Junior High School 6 Lubuk Basung.

Abstract

                                                       ABSTRACT This research are motivated by the students comprehension of mathematical concept is still low and students are less willing to share in group. The purpose of this research is to determine whether students comprehension of mathematical concept by implementing the Thinking loud Pair Problem Solving (TAPPS) technique is better than students comprehension of mathematical concept by implementing conventional learning in class VIII SMPN 27 Padang. this was an experimental research which used pre experimental design: static groupcomparison. The sampling was done by purposive sampling. The  sampling in this research are class VIII.5 and VIII.6. Instrument used is test comprehension of mathematical concept in the form of essay. Based on the result of item analysis, it was revealed that final test item was reliable with r11 = 0,80 and rtable  = 0,388. Hypothesis test used t-test one way with MINITAB software. Based on the math final test result from both of the sample class obtained that tvalue = 2,07 while ttable = 1,65, because tvalue  ttable, then hypothesis was received. It can be conclude that Students comprehension of mathematical concept by implementing Thinking Aloud Pair Problem Solving (TAAPS) is better than students comprehension of mathematical concept.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis  research was designed to reveal whether the use of Questions Sudents Have (QSH) activee learning strategy could improve the students’ understanding of mathematics concept better than that of conventional laerning strategy in class VIII of SMPN 1 Pancung Soal. This was an experimental research which used random design toward the subject. The population of the research was all of students in class VIII registered in academic year 2013/2014. From the populatin, class VIII.1 was chosen as the experimental class, and class VIII.2 as the control one. The intrument of the research was a post-test in the form of essay whose reliability was . The data gotten in this research was  analyzed by using t-test. Based on the result of data analysis, it was found that the averange score of the students in the experimental class (67,20) was higher than in the control one (57,87). In addition, the result of the hypothesis test by using MINITAB program indecated that P-value (0,018) was smaller than  (0,05). Hence, it was concluded than the use of QSH active learningg strategy couldd improve the students’ understanding on mathematics concept better than that of conventional learning stratagy in class VIII of SMPN 1 Pancung Soal.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research is motivated by the students understanding of mathematical concepts are still low and students are not motivated to learn mathematics. This research is head for determine whethert students understanding of mathematical concepts by using cooperative learning one to one techniques model is better than students by conventional learning and to find out how students matematic learn motivation by applying the cooperative learning model one to one techniques. Type of this research is experimental. The population of this research is VIII class students of the SMPN 2 Lubuk Sikaping. Instrument used in this reaserch is questionnaire of motivation and the last test for the understanding of mathematical concepts. The test form used is essay form with reliabilities test is . Data analysis techniques used is t test one side at the α = 0.05. Hypothesis test results obtained that  mean while , because . So the hypothesis of this research is accepted and with the resault can be inferred that students understanding of matematical concept by applying the cooperative learning one to one techniques model is better than student  understanding of matematical concept taught by conventional learning the VIII class students of the SMPN Lubuk Sikaping junior high school in lessons 2013-2014.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Students understanding of mathematical concepts are still low in class XI Science SMAN 15 Padang become the background for this study. The study aims to determine whether the ability of the students understanding of mathematical concepts by applying quick on the draw better than the ability of the students understanding of mathematical concepts by applying conventional learning in class XI Science SMAN 15 Padang. This study is a randomized study design experiments to sabjek. Analysis of the data using one-way t test with MINITAB program. Based on the analysis of data obtained P-value = 0.008 means less than α = 0.05 level, so it can be concluded that the ability of understanding mathematical concepts students with a quick on the draw better than the ability of the students understanding of mathematical concepts by applying conventional teaching students of class XI Science 15 Padang.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Base on background knowledge of this research was students’ understanding of mathematical concept that still low and the material that students have was lost from their mind. This research is to determine whether students’ understanding of mathematical concept by using a strategy Hollywood square Review better than students’ understanding of mathematical concept by using conventional strategy at X Grade of MAS PLUS Padang Ganting. Type of this research was experiment. Population in this research was students at X grade of MAS PLUS Padang Ganting, and sample of this research was students class X1 as experimental class and X2 as control class. Post-test was as instrumentation in this research, with realibility 0,88.From the data analysis get mean score from students’ achievement in experimental class was 71.96 that high  rather than in control class that was 48.57. data analysis was done by using hypothesis testing. Tcalculated= 3,6 and ttable= 1,68. so, we can conclude that students’ understanding of  mathematical concept that used Hollywood Square Review better than conventional strategy  at X Grade of MAS PLUS Padang Ganting.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The background of this research is the comprehension of mathematical concept of students grade VIII SMP Negeri 1 Talamau is low. The aim of this research are to know how students activities in learning process and is the comprehension of mathematical concept by apply Everyone Is a Teacher Here strategies is better than students comprehension of  mathematical concept by apply conventional learning in grade VIII SMP Negeri 1 Talamau Kabupaten Pasaman Barat. The type of the reseach is experiment. The sample study is class VIII.3 as experiment and VIII.1 as control class. The research instrument is a observation paper and test comprehension concept. Comprehension of the concept of test data analysis obtained an average of the concept of comprehension test are 68,33 for experiment class and 55,76  for control class. The analysis was done with help of software MINITAB obtainer P-value = 0,0444 is smaller that  = 0,05. Therefore, it can be concluded that the students who used active learning strategy type Everyone Is a Teacher Here better than students comprehension in mathematical concept in conventional learning.

Abstract

 ABSTRACTStudents understanding of mathematical concept are still low in class VIII SMPN 2 Koto XI Tarusan become the background for this study. This research was designed for revealing whether the use of Synergetic Teaching active learning strategy could improve the students understanding of mathematical concept better than that of the conventional learning in class VIII SMPN 2 Koto XI Tarusan. This was an experimental research which used random toward the subject design. The instrument of the research was a post-test of conceptual understanding. The data of the research was analyzed by using Mann-Whitney test. Based on the result of data analysis, it was found that   which was smaller than α. Therefore, the hypothesis was accepted signifying that the students understanding of mathematical concept taught by using Synergetic Teaching active learning strategy was better than that of students taught by using conventional learning in class VIII SMPN 2 Koto XI Tarusan.

Abstract

ABSTRACThe aim of the research was to study whether the understanding of mathematical concept of the students taught by using Genius Learning strategy with Guided Finding method was better than that of students taught by using conventional learning. This was an experimental research which used random toward the subject design. The population of the research was the students in class VIII of SMPN 3 Sutera registered in Academic Year 2013/2014. The data obtained was analyzed by using t-test on the significance level 0,05. Based on the result of data analysis, it was found that H0 was rejected signifying that the understanding of mathematical concept of the students taught by using Genius Learning strategy with Guided Finding method was better than that of students taught by using conventional learning in class VIII of SMPN 3 Sutera.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study was motived by an understanding of mathematical concepts students are still low. This study aims to determine whether students’ understanding of mathematical concepts by applying active learning methods type course review horey better than students’understanding of mathematical concepts by applying conventional learning class VIII SMPN 23 Padang. This research was an experimental research with randomized research design of the subject.The research instrument was the final test. From of the test used was the essay with reliability=0,75. The result obtained from testing the hypothesis t = 3,5194 and t table = 1,677, because t count> t table thenIt can be concluded that the students’ understanding of mathematical concepts by applying active learning method type course review horey better than conventional teaching class VIII SMPN 23 Padang with a confidence level of95 %( .
