Abstract

Riba refers to the provision of additional value given by exceeding the nominal amount of a loan at the time of repayment. The interest rate is determined based on a certain percentage charged to the borrower. In Arabic, riba means excess or addition (az-ziyadah). In Islam, riba is strictly prohibited. The Qur'an explicitly declares that riba is forbidden because it is considered harmful and creates injustice in economic transactions. This prohibition aims to maintain social balance and protect parties involved in transactions from economic exploitation. This study employs a qualitative method with a library research approach. This approach aims to explore the views of scholars and authoritative Islamic sources, such as the Qur'an, hadith, and fiqh literature. Based on the findings from various reliable sources, Islamic law clearly states that riba is haram. This prohibition is supported by theological and ethical arguments emphasizing the importance of justice and blessings in all aspects of muamalah. Thus, riba is not only viewed as an economic issue but also as a moral and spiritual concern that must be avoided by Muslims

Abstract

Marriages conducted abroad must be based on the laws of the country where the marriage takes place, which have regulations in foreign countries. This is used as a loophole for Indonesian citizens who want to get married without having to wait for the Iddah period or waiting period. This research is a qualitative method with a statutory approach and data through library research. Data analysis uses content analysis and draws a conclusion. Based on research and discussion, the implementation of Indonesian citizens' marriages during the iddah period abroad, based on Article 56 and the principles of Indonesian International Civil Law, adheres to the principle of Lex Loci Celebrationis, where the marriage is conducted according to the law of the place where the marriage takes place. This formally indicates that the marriage is declared valid. However, as long as the cumulative requirements for international marriage as regulated in Article 56 have not been fulfilled, the marriage can still be considered invalid, and the legal status of Indonesian citizens' marriages during the iddah period abroad when returning to Indonesia does not yet have clear legal certainty from the applicable regulations.

Abstract

In the globalization era and technology advancement now where technology, social and cultural development has caused unlimited international intercommunication. As a result, national state territorial boundaries barely become a barrier that may create civil problems due to the convergence of legal systems of countries in the world having their unique characteristics. International civil law becomes crucial and unavoidable in order to establish Indonesian national law to respond to legal challenges in the globalization era. This study used legal research method with conceptual approach and international civil law theories as the analysis tool. The legal materials used in this study were normative primary, secondary and tertiary legal materials executed by searching, collecting and literature study to documents conventionally. The result implicitly showed that foreign element in international civil legal cases can be reviewed from two factors. First is personal factor that is a foreign element aimed to the legal subject committing legal action or subject having different nationality. Second, it is territorial factor referring to the place where legal relationship or incident (legal act) is performed abroad and has the same nationality.

Abstract

Abstract

Digital literacy is an important skill in the increasingly digitalized information era. In today's digital era, children are very familiar with technology so that a digital-based learning approach is one of the effective strategies for fostering reading habits. This study aims to describe how the use of digital media such as interactive e-books, learning videos, and online reading platforms can increase students' enthusiasm and motivation in reading. The results of the study show that digital literacy not only enriches reading sources but also encourages active student involvement through content that is more interesting and in accordance with their learning styles. With the right integration of digital literacy, teachers can create a learning environment that is more inclusive, enjoyable, and in accordance with students' developmental needs. Therefore, it is important for educators to continue to improve digital competence in supporting adaptive and sustainable learning processes.

Abstract

This research comprehensively investigated the global warming potential impact of the municipal solid waste management system using bioconversion of black soldier fly (Hermetia illucens). For this purpose, the life cycle assessment methodology was applied to evaluate the global warming potential over a 100-year horizon (GWP100) for the system used by XYZ Ltd. Depok City, identify emission sources and analyze alternative strategies to mitigate environmental impacts. Data collection for this study was conducted at XYZ Ltd. in Depok City, West Java Province, between May and June 2022. This case study focused on a cradle-to-gate analysis with a functional unit of 1 ton of municipal solid waste. The impact assessment results showed that GWP100 impact from bioconversion of municipal solid waste was 3.69E+02 kg CO2 eq. Solid waste disposed through open dumping was a dominant contributor of these emissions (2.57E+02 kg CO2 eq). The GHG emissions that were the primary source of these impacts are CH4 (2.47E+02 kg CO2 eq) and CO2 (1.19E+02 kg CO2 eq). Ultimately, the improvement scenarios recommended in this study are the pretreatment of municipal solid waste, substituting photovoltaic electricity use, choosing priority clients with the closest distance, and substituting biocomposite packaging. Implementing these measures will reduce the GWP100 impact by 56.02%. Keywords: BSF bioconversion; global warming potential; Hermetia illucens; LCA; Municipal solid waste

Abstract

The main urgency of this study is to evaluate the semantic difficulty level of TIMSS questions for Grade IV students, considering the impact of semantic difficulty on students' understanding of concepts, which has not been extensively researched. The purpose of this study is to assess the semantic difficulty level of TIMSS questions among Grade IV students at SDN Parsanga II. This study uses a descriptive research method. The research population includes all Grade IV students at SDN Parsanga II, with a sample size of 30 students randomly selected from the population. The research instruments consist of TIMSS questions and a semantic assessment checklist regarding question difficulty levels. Data analysis is conducted quantitatively. The semantic difficulty level of TIMSS questions is determined based on the percentage of correct answers from students, and the question difficulty level is calculated using the percentage of correct answers from the entire student sample. The results of the study reveal that a high number of correct answers indicates a good understanding of the tested concepts, while a high number of incorrect answers suggests difficulties in understanding the concepts or errors in processing information. This analysis provides valuable insights into student performance and question difficulty levels. Based on this understanding, test results can be evaluated more comprehensively, thus improving the quality of learning. Educators can identify students' difficulties and needs in understanding the tested concepts and design appropriate interventions to enhance their understanding
