Abstract

The use of the Make A Match cooperative learning model to improve student learning outcomes in social studies subjects for fifth-grade students at Tlogomas 2 Elementary School, Malang City, elementary school, teacher education study program, faculty of education at Tribhuwana Tunggadewi University, supervised by Dr. Firsta Bagus Sugiharto, S.Pd., M.Pd and Chusnul Chotimah, S.Pd., M.Pd. The purpose of this study was to describe the application of the Make A Match type of cooperative learning model to improve social studies learning outcomes for fifth-grade students at SDN Tlogomas 2 Malang City. This study used a class action research method (CAR) with a qualitative descriptive approach which consisted of 2 cycles, Cycle I and Cycle II, cycle I was held in 2 meetings, and cycle II was also held in 2 meeting, each cycle consisting of 4 stages namely, planning, implementing, observing data collection techniques in this study using the method of observation, interviews, learning achievement tests, and documentation. The results showed that: (1) the application of the Make A Match type of cooperative learning model in cycle I meeting I, 62,5% in the less category and meeting II, 75% in the sufficient categories, in the implementation of cycle II meeting I the percentage was 87.5% in the category very good, the second meeting, 93.75% with excellent category. (2) increasing social studies learning outcomes by using the Make A Match type cooperative learning model for social studies subjects in cycle I meeting I. 46% with an average value of 72.70% than in the second cycle experienced an increase in the first meeting the percentage of completeness was 76.92% with an average value of 81.15% and at the second meeting the percentage of completeness was 84.61% with the average value is 86.92%, therefore it can be concluded that the use of the Make A Match cooperative learning model to improve social studies learning outcomes for fifth-grade students at SDN Tlogomas 2 Malang City

Abstract

Tablet effervescent adalah salah satu formula farmasi; merupakan campuran asam dan basa yang melepaskan karbon dioksida dan menghasilkan buih ketika dilarutkan dalam air. Artikel ini membahas kadar air pembersih gigi tiruan berupa tablet effervescent dari ekstrak kulit buah kakao (Theobroma cacao L.) 6,5%. Penelitian true experimental, digunakan sampel 16 tablet effervescent menggunakan alat moisture analyzer. Uji perbandingan menunjukkan p-value 0,000 (<0,05). Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa ada perbedaan signifikan kadar air tablet effervescent KBK 6,5% dengan kadar air tablet effervescent alkalin peroksida. Disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kadar air tablet effervescent KBK dan effervescent alkalin peroksida tetapi sesuai syarat kadar air yang baik (≤ 10%).

Abstract

Islamic education plays a vital role in raising quality offspring with good morals; therefore, schools must be firmly committed to providing proper education and have qualified human resources capable of fulfilling their obligations. In the current era of globalization, improving the quality of human resources in schools is crucial. How is strategic management planning used in developing the quality of human resources in educational institutions? How is strategic management implemented in developing the quality of human resources in educational institutions? How is strategic management evaluation used in developing the quality of human resources in educational institutions? This research can also benefit principals, teachers, and other education personnel, as well as support further research on strategic management to improve the quality of human resources in Islamic educational institutions. This study uses a literature review to examine references on strategies to improve the quality of human resources in Islamic schools—training, internships, scholarships, and prizes; increasing human resource welfare; and collaborating with other parties. Performance evaluation assessments are carried out by superiors or foundation owners and the principal in private schools, while in public schools, it is the principal and the school committee.

Abstract

Social media has become an important part of the lives of Generation Z and Alpha teenagers, as well as a potential medium for the dissemination of mental health information. Among various platforms, TikTok shows rapid growth with more than 63 million monthly active users in Indonesia in 2023, where 45% of its users are aged 13–24 years. The creative and easily accessible short video format makes TikTok an effective medium for mental health education, as evidenced by the popularity of the hashtag #mentalhealth which has been viewed more than 3.2 billion times from December 2019 to 2025. Knowing the effectiveness of TikTok social media as a medium for mental health education for adolescents. This study used a non-equivalent control group design. A total of 928 adolescents aged 10–19 from five regions were divided into two groups: those receiving mental health education through TikTok (n=464) and those receiving education through Instagram (n=464). Respondents' mental health knowledge was measured twice using questionnaires, before and after the health education was provided. Post-test results showed a significant increase in the TikTok group with a p-value <0.05, indicating a difference in knowledge before and after the intervention. The number of respondents in the high knowledge category increased, while the number of respondents in the low knowledge category decreased significantly. Education through short videos on TikTok is more effective in increasing adolescents' mental health knowledge. Delivering information that is visually engaging, concise, and tailored to adolescent communication styles is a key factor in its success.

Abstract

Although cooperative learning models have received attention in various previous studies, research that specifically discusses the implementation of the Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) model in improving learning activeness in Islamic Education (PAI) at the junior secondary school level still requires further exploration. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the STAD-type cooperative learning model in improving students’ learning activeness in the PAI subject. This study used a qualitative approach with a descriptive design, involving informants consisting of the principal, vice principal for curriculum, PAI teacher, and students of Class VII D at SMP Negeri 1 Tembelang. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and were then analyzed using qualitative data analysis techniques. The results showed that the implementation of the STAD learning model was effective and able to improve students’ learning activeness, as reflected in the increased participation of students in discussions, asking questions, and the courage to express opinions during the learning process. These findings contribute to strengthening cooperative learning theory and expanding understanding of strategies to enhance student engagement in the context of religious education. The conclusion of the study emphasizes that systematic steps in STAD, such as class presentation, learning teams, quizzes, progress scores, and rewards, play an important role in creating an interactive and collaborative learning atmosphere. This study also emphasizes the need for effective time management and attention to differences in the level of activeness among students so that the implementation of STAD can proceed optimally.

Abstract

The persistently low levels of Qur’anic reading and memorization skills among intermediate-level female students remain a serious challenge in tahfidz education at Islamic boarding schools (pesantren). One approach considered effective in addressing this issue is the wahdah method, which emphasizes gradual repetition of verses until accurate memorization is achieved. This study aims to: (1) analyze the process of Qur’anic reading and memorization learning at Pondok Pesantren Ummu Zainab Annajiyah 2 Bahrul Ulum; (2) identify the role of teachers in providing stimulus, correction, and reinforcement; and (3) evaluate the effectiveness of tahfidz instruction from a behaviorist perspective. A qualitative case study approach was employed, with data collected through interviews, observation, and documentation, and analyzed using narrative descriptive techniques. The findings show that tahfidz learning is conducted systematically through stages of habituation, repetition (drill), memorization recitation (setoran), and review (muraja’ah). Teachers play an active role as providers of stimulus, correctors of recitation, and reinforcers of memorization behavior through both positive and corrective reinforcement. The application of behaviorist principles, particularly through repeated and consistent practice proved effective in improving reading skills, strengthening memorization, and fostering student discipline. The study concludes that the wahdah method, when combined with a behaviorist approach by instructors, can successfully establish optimal and sustainable learning habits. These findings highlight the importance of integrating behaviorist principles into tahfidz instruction to enhance the effectiveness and quality of Qur’anic education within the pesantren environment.

Abstract

Although character education has become a major concern in Islamic education, studies that specifically discuss the integration of salaf and khalaf learning habituation as a comprehensive approach to shaping students’ character remain limited. This study aims to analyze the implementation of salaf and khalaf learning habituation and its role as an alternative model in shaping students’ character at MA Mu’allimin Mu’allimat Mamba’ul Ma’arif Denanyar Jombang. This study used a qualitative approach with a case study design, involving the head of the madrasah, teachers, and students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through passive participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using an interactive analysis model comprising data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was tested through source and technique triangulation. The results showed that the integration of salaf learning through the study of kitab kuning, religious habituation, and the internalization of adab, as well as khalaf learning through the formal curriculum with active methods, was implemented continuously in classroom learning activities and the culture of daily life in the madrasah. This approach was effective in developing students’ religious character, discipline, responsibility, tolerance, and balance between intellectual and moral intelligence. These findings emphasize the importance of integrating traditional Islamic values with modern educational approaches as an alternative model for strengthening sustainable character education in Islamic educational institutions.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education plays an important role in shaping students’ character, morality, and understanding of religious values, particularly among younger generations. However, the use of traditional or conventional teaching models has led to low emotional engagement and suboptimal internalization of religious values. This study aimed to describe the implementation of the Value Clarification Technique (VCT) learning model in the grade XII Islamic Religious Education (PAI) subject at SMK Sunan Ampel Jombang and to identify the obstacles encountered in its use. The research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive design, with data collected through observations, interviews, and documentation involving the principal, Islamic Religious Education teacher, and grade XII students. Data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, and the validity of the findings was tested through source and technique triangulation. The results show that the implementation of the Value Clarification Technique improved students’ ease of understanding the material, their activeness in learning, and the depth of value internalization. Nevertheless, its implementation remains constrained by limited time and teacher preparation, difficulties in adaptation for some students, and mental fatigue among less active students. The study concludes that the Value Clarification Technique plays an important role in enhancing learning quality while strengthening character formation and religious values in a contextual manner. The findings imply the need to improve teachers’ competence in developing creative and reflective value-facilitation strategies and to strengthen classroom time management so that the implementation of the Value Clarification Technique can proceed more optimally and sustainably.

Abstract

The low learning interest of students, influenced by the dominance of lecture methods and conventional learning, became the basis for developing MOTIF, or Educational Fiqh Monopoly, learning media in the Fiqh subject at MA Al-Bairuny. This study aims to produce interactive learning media based on an educational game that can improve students’ engagement and understanding in the Fiqh learning process. This study used the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE development model, which includes the stages of analysis, planning, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research subjects consisted of Grade X students at MA Al-Bairuny. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and questionnaire distribution to validators and students. The validation results showed that the MOTIF media obtained a very feasible category based on material expert assessment and a very attractive category based on media expert assessment, indicating that it can be used in learning activities. In addition, the field trial results showed positive student responses to the use of MOTIF media because it was considered capable of creating a more engaging, interactive, and enjoyable learning atmosphere. The conclusion of this study affirms that the development of MOTIF learning media can serve as an innovative alternative in Fiqh learning. The implications of this study indicate that educational game media can encourage students to be more active, motivated, and enthusiastic in understanding Fiqh learning material.
