Abstract

Learning style is an activity of thinking, processing, and understanding something that is preferred and has the characteristics of each person. Problem-solving ability is a skill that needs to be possessed in the process of solving mathematical problems. This study aims to describe students' problem-solving abilities on social arithmetic material in terms of learning styles. The research was conducted through a descriptive qualitative research design. The population is all seventh-grade students of MTs Al-Khairiyah, South Jakarta. Sampling using a total sampling technique. Then three students were selected, namely students who scored the highest visual, auditory and kinesthetic learning styles. The instrument uses a learning style questionnaire and a test of problem-solving skills and semi-structured interviews—data analysis techniques with data reduction, exposure, and concluding to explain mathematical problem-solving abilities. The findings of this study are students with the highest scores of visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning styles can solve social arithmetic problems based on Polya's steps without any significant differences, only from different styles when solving problems

Abstract

This study aims to obtain empirical data and analyze the influence of mathematical-logical intelligence, and self study of learning outcomes in mathematics. The variables consisted of: independent variable mathematical-logical intelligence and self study, the dependent variable is the result of learning mathematics. This research was done in class X Vocational High School in South Jakarta district municipality Jagakarsa. The research method used is survey method with correlation analysis. The sample totaled 120 students. Based on the testing of hypotheses to conclusions: (1) There is a significant positive effect of mathematical-logical intelligence on the results of learning mathematics, where the value of the simple correlation coefficient is positive, significant correlation with test Sig. <0.05, and test the regression coefficient with the Sig. <0.05. (2) There are no significant positive influence on the result of self study to learn mathematics. Where the value of the simple correlation coefficient is positive, significant correlation with test Sig. <0.05, and test the regression coefficient with the Sig. > 0.05. (3) There is a significant positive effect of mathematical-logical intelligence and independence of learning on mathematics learning outcomes. Where the value of multiple correlation coefficient is positive, significant correlation with test Sig. <0.05, and test the regression coefficient with the Sig. <0.05. And multiple regression models are free from multicollinearity or no relationship between the independent variables.

Abstract

Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini dilakukan secara daring bersama dengan mitra dari Rumah Belajar Kita (RBK) dibawah naungan Yayasan bangun Kecerdasan Bangsa. Beberapa permasalahan yang ada di RBK tersebut, diantaranya adalah Rendahnya minat siswa terhadap pembelajaran matematika sehingga menyebabkan kurangnya kemampuan atau keterampilan matematis siswa, pembelajaran yang masih monoton sehingga siswa cenderung pasif, kurang adanya komunikasi dan interaksi antara guru dan siswa, serta lembaga yang belum dapat  memfasilitasi untuk meningkatkan inovasi pembelajaran matematika untuk para pengajar di RBK. Metode pendekatan yang digunakan dalam kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini adalah metode pelatihan. Peserta kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini sangat antusias mengikuti kegiatan pelatihan dan menyadari bahwa motivasi, inovasi serta pengembangan potensi diri merupakan hal yang sangat penting, terutama untuk meningkatkan minat, aktivitas belajar dan keterampilan matematis siswa dengan menggunakan bantuan media pembelajaran yang tepat.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to produce an educative video of volume building based on the ethnomathematics of traditional food through Youtube. This study uses the Hannafin and Peck development model which consists of 3 stages, namely the needs analysis stage (Analyze), the design stage (Design), the development and implementation stages (Development & Implementation). Collecting data in this study using interviews and questionnaires. The instruments that accompany this research are a material expert and media expert validation questionnaire sheet, as well as a small group trial questionnaire. The results of the validation in the study showed that the educational video developed had met the eligibility criteria for the material expert test with a proportion of 78.9%, met the criteria very feasible for the media expert test with a proportion of 82.4%, met the eligibility criteria for a small group trial with a percentage of 77 ,5%. Based on these results, the ethnomathematics-based educational video developed is feasible to be used as a medium for learning mathematics in SMK.Keywords: Educational video, Spatial Building Volume, Ethnomathematics, Youtube

Abstract

This study aims to describe the level of ability to understand mathematical concepts of students of class VIII MTs At-Taqwa on circle material. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative method. The subjects of the study were students of class VIII-2 MTs At-Taqwa Bekasi totaling 26 people and one class VIII mathematics teacher. From the research subjects will be selected using purposive sampling techniques. Furthermore, the ability to understand mathematical concepts will be analyzed according to the test results and interview results of the selected 3 students. From each of the students who have been selected represent the high, medium and low group categories. The results showed that the level of understanding of mathematical concepts in the high group category was 4 people or 16%, the level of understanding of mathematical concepts in the medium category was 16 people or 64%, and the level of understanding of mathematical concepts in the low category was 5 people or 20%. While the achievement of indicators is different for each indicator, namely the percentage for each indicator is as follows: only 90.6% of students are able to meet the indicators of re-state the concept, 32.3% of students who are able to meet classifying indicators / grouping objects according to certain traits according to their concept, 14.5% of students who are able to meet the indicators develop the concepts that have been owned, and 11.5% of students who are able to meet the indicators  use and utilize and select specific procedures or operations and apply them to troubleshooting

Abstract

This research was conducted with the aim of designing and developing Mathematical Comics Learning Media on Cultural-Based Middle School Statistics Materials. This research was conducted on class VII junior high school students, to be precise at SMPN 36 Bekasi, SMPIT Bahana Mandiri Bekasi, and SMP Darma Patria. The development of this learning media uses a Research and Development (R&D) approach, the class-oriented ASSURE instructional design model initiated by Heinich, et al. since the 1980s and was developed by Smaldino, et al (Smaldino, 2014: 111). The ASSURE model consists of six activity steps, namely: (A) evaluate Learners (, (S)tates Standards and Objectives, (S)select Methods, Media, and Materials, (U)tilize Media and Materials, (R) require Learn Participation, (E) evaluate and Revise In this study, the product was tested on a material expert, a linguist, a development expert, a graphic design expert, 3 students who were randomly selected from 3 schools for a one to one test, 9 students randomly selected from 3 schools for the small group test, and 20 students in the large group trial to test the effectiveness of the product.

Abstract

This study aims to identify mathematical material that is considered difficult at the Junior High School level class VIII. This research used a descriptive method with interview techniques. Needs analysis was carried out to experts, namely senior teachers in 4 cities in Indonesia, namely Pekanbaru, Jakarta, Cirebon, and Yogyakarta. Based on the results of the needs analysis, it was found that there are at least three materials that are difficult for students to master, namely straight-line equations, building flat-side spaces, and opportunities. This is expected to provide inspiration and further research opportunities, namely research aimed at the development of learning tools, including learning methods, learning media, and learning evaluation tools, so that materials that are considered difficult can be resolved immediately and students can master them well

Abstract

This research is expected to be useful for the following parties: (1) For schools, namely as input material for schools that are used as research locations, in an effort to improve to improve the quality and achievement of students' mathematics learning. (2) For teachers as a consideration for teachers to improve student learning outcomes in the subjects they teach. (3) For students it can be used as a reference material in generating interest in learning, as well as methods that can improve methods that can improve student learning outcomes. (4) Subsequent research materials as reference material for further researchers discussing research topics relevant to this research.

Abstract

The purpose from this research is to know self-efficacy influence toward student ability of mathematic problem solving. This research uses survey as the method. The population in this research consists of 181 students. This research is done by using questionnaires and tests with the total of the sample are 65 students. The sampling technique is done randomly and proportionally stratified (Proportionate Stratified Random Sampling). Data measurement and collection of student ability of mathematic problem solving use a written instrument like essay. Previously, the instrument was already tested in validity, reliability, difficulty level and distinguished tests ability so thereafter, data analysis requirement test is also conducted. Based on research hypothetical test, the result is t calculation > t table, which is 2,49 > 1,998 so H1 is accepted and H0 is rejected. The conclusion is there is an influence from self-efficacy towards toward student ability of mathematic problem solving.

Abstract

Abstract : This study aims to identify and describe ethnomathematics in the traditional game of marbles in the Happy Village, Babelan District, Bekasi Regency, West Java. The research method used is ethnomathematics with the object of research being the traditional game of marbles. The data sources in this study consisted of: the research object, namely marbles games, sources, namely 3 elders, and related documents discussing marbles games. Data collection techniques are carried out through: observation, interviews, and documentation. Based on the research results obtained and data analysis, it is concluded that there are mathematical concepts in the game of marbles, namely: the concept of geometric shapes in the shape of marbles, the concept of flat geometry and trigonometry in the shape of the game area of ​​marbles, and the concept of opportunity and integer arithmetic operations in the implementation marble game..  Keywords: Ethnomatematics, Traditional Games, Marbles, Babelan Village.
