Abstract

This study aims to analyze the need for developing Physics E-LKPD (e-student worksheet) based on the Engineering Design Process (EDP) within the context of utilizing pineapple waste as biogas as an alternative renewable energy. The background of this study is based on physics learning that lacks context and low student learning independence. This study uses a quantitative descriptive approach involving 63 students from grades X and XI at State Senior High School 6 Prabumulih. Data was collected to identify the learning conditions and needs of students in physics education. The findings show that most students have access to digital devices and internet connectivity; however, physics learning resources are still dominated by conventional printed teaching materials, and the implementation of E-LKPD is not yet optimal. Nevertheless, students showed a high level of interest in the topic of renewable energy and responded positively to project-based learning contexts. These findings reveal a gap between students' digital readiness and the availability of interactive and innovation-oriented teaching materials. Therefore, this study aims to develop E-LKPD based on the Engineering Design Process (EDP) in the context of biogas from pineapple waste to support independent learning, improve critical thinking skills, and foster awareness of renewable energy innovation. The implications of this study indicate that the integration of EDP-based E-LKPD Physics and local wisdom, such as the use of pineapple waste to produce biogas, can increase students' independence in learning, critical thinking, and environmental awareness, as well as support curriculum development, learning practices, and real-world problem solving that are relevant to the potential of the region.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the enhancement of students' science communication skills through the application of guided inquiry learning models in laboratory activities. The method used to describe science communication skills is to use pre-experiment research. The samples used in this study were 60 physics education students in the odd semester 2023/2024 who took basic physics practicum courses. The implementation of the guided inquiry learning model in the four meetings. The results of improving science communication skills were based on three indicators that researchers have limited. The result analysis used non-test instruments like observation sheets. The sub-scientific communication skills are: 1) searching information, 2) scientific writing, and 3) representing information. Based on the observation results, it was found that the application of the guided inquiry learning model can train students' science communication skills in sub-skills of seeking information with a percentage increase of 74%, sub-skills of scientific writing with a rise of 67% and sub-skills of representing information at an increase in percentage of 76%. Each average score on the third and fourth meetings shows that science communication skills are in the very skilled category

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar peserta didik SDN 34 Palembang melalui penerapan model pembelajaran Problem-Based Learning (PBL). Metode yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK), yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus, masing-masing meliputi tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 30 peserta didik kelas V SDN 34 Palembang. Data dikumpulkan melalui angket motivasi belajar dan observasi, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan teknik deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata skor motivasi belajar meningkat dari 45,45% pada pra-siklus menjadi 77,48% pada siklus I, dengan kategori "Sedang" (N-Gain 0,59). Pada siklus II, rata-rata skor meningkat menjadi 96,65%, dengan kategori "Tinggi" (N-Gain 0,85), dan 100% peserta didik berada pada kategori "Sangat Baik". Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model PBL efektif dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar peserta didik. Adapun implikasi dari penelitian ini adalah perlunya integrasi metode PBL dalam pembelajaran untuk menciptakan pengalaman belajar yang interaktif, relevan, dan mampu meningkatkan motivasi peserta didik secara berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Technology literacy is a crucial competency in addressing digital transformation and the challenges of 21st-century learning. This study aims to analyze research trends in technology literacy within the field of education, particularly in STEM learning, through a bibliometric approach using VOSviewer. Data were collected from international publication databases for the period 2021–2025 using the keywords technology literacy, digital literacy, and STEM education. The analysis identified five main research clusters: (1) effects and impacts (effect, impact, relationship), (2) learning contexts and student engagement (student engagement, experience, perception), (3) digital adoption and mechanisms (adoption, tool, competency, mechanism), (4) sustainability and management (sustainability, management, industry), and (5) emerging technological innovations (virtual reality, healthcare, engineering, artificial intelligence). The findings indicate that technology literacy is not only associated with pedagogical practices and student learning in STEM but also extends to sustainability, industry, and advanced technologies. This broader scope highlights the novelty of this study, showing how technology literacy connects education with global technological advancements. The study provides valuable insights for academics and practitioners in developing adaptive and future-oriented learning strategies aligned with educational needs and technological change.

Abstract

Current technological developments require the education sector to engage in continuous innovation to advance the quality of future generations. Coding and artificial intelligence are forms of innovation that can be integrated into learning activities. To equip students with these skills, this community service program aims to introduce and train students in the use of simple block coding through the use of 4.0 applications. The training and community service activities were carried out over a period of 3 months with a target of 25 junior high school students in Tanjung Baru Village. The training was carried out through a series of activities, namely (a) conducting a preliminary test; (2) delivering material on the use of block coding for learning, the use of the Pictoblox 4.0 application, and the creation of simple games and chatbots; and (3) conducting a final test. The N-gain percentage result was 89.5%. This percentage is high, indicating that there is a significant effect on improving students' computational thinking skills. The implementation of this activity had a positive impact on the training participants. This is demonstrated by the evaluation results, which indicate that this community service activity will continue with other innovative activities. The implication of this community service activity is to provide innovative coding and artificial intelligence learning activities that are integrated into the curriculum.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: This study aims to develop the ECO-SETS Worksheet (Environment and Climate Oriented through Science, Environment, Technology, and Society), an innovative student worksheet that integrates the SETS approach with simple coding simulations to train students’ ESA on climate change topics. Methodology: The research employed the ADDIE development model, consisting of five stages. The study involved Grade X and XI students from several schools in South Sumatra. Data collection included teacher interviews, expert validation by three experts, student practicality questionnaires involving nine students, and effectiveness testing through pretest–posttest assessments with 60 respondents. Instruments consisted of Likert-scale questionnaires, open-ended feedback forms, and concept mastery tests. Data were analyzed using the Guttman scale for validity, the Likert scale for practicality, and N-gain and t-tests for effectiveness. Main Findings: The results indicate that ECO-SETS LKPD is highly valid, with average validation scores of 90.7%, and very practical, with student response scores of 97.14% (one-to-one trial) and 96.50% (small-group trial). In terms of effectiveness, the LKPD significantly improved students’ environmental sustainability awareness, evidenced by an N-gain score of 0.65 in the experimental class and statistically significant differences compared to the control group. Novelty/Originality of this study: The novelty of this study lies in the integration of SETS-based contextual learning with simple coding simulations within a structured LKPD framework, bridging environmental education and computational thinking. This integrative approach not only strengthens conceptual understanding but also equips students with adaptive skills to address real-world environmental challenges, offering a new direction for sustainable science education.
