Abstract

Digital transformation has increased the complexity of higher education dynamics, affecting various aspects, including lecturers' commitment to the institution. This study aims to analyze lecturers' commitment, including value, affective, continuance, and normative commitments, in the face of changes triggered by digitalization. This study used a descriptive quantitative approach, with data collected through a standardized questionnaire from 336 lecturers selected using a proportional random sampling technique. Descriptive statistical analysis was conducted with SPSS. The results showed that value and affective commitment had the highest levels, reflecting the alignment of lecturers' values with the institution's vision and their emotional attachment to higher education. However, continuance commitment showed variation, with some lecturers considering external factors such as other job opportunities and financial benefits in their decision to stay. Meanwhile, normative commitment tends to be low, indicating that not all lecturers feel morally obligated to their higher education institution. The findings emphasize the importance of institutional strategies in improving lecturers' welfare, continuous professional development, and incentive policies to strengthen their long-term commitment.

Abstract

The use of technology, including gadgets, is one of the characteristics of a country's progress. However, excessive gadget use in children can affect their social interactions, such as reducing physical play time, increasing antisocial behavior, and reducing social interaction skills. This study aims to analyze the relationship between gadget use and social interaction in elementary school-aged children. The method used was quantitative with a descriptive correlational design. The sample of this study consisted of 97 students in grades IV-VI who were selected using a simple random sampling technique. Data analysis used univariate analysis to determine frequency distribution and bivariate analysis with the Spearman Rank test to test the relationship between variables. The results showed that 52 people (53.6%) of respondents had gadget use in the poor category, while 70 people (72.2%) had social interaction in the low category. The results of the Spearman Rank test showed a correlation value of ρ-value = <0.001 < α 0.05 with a value of r = 0.347, which indicates a low correlation with a positive direction. This finding suggests that non-optimal gadget use contributes to low social interaction in school-age children. Therefore, wise management of gadget use needs to be implemented to support children's social interaction.

Abstract

Hospitals as public service providers are required to optimize information technology through the Hospital Management Information System (HMIS) to improve the quality and efficiency of health services, including laboratory installations. However, HMIS implementation often faces technical and coordination barriers between units that may reduce its effectiveness. This study aimed to analyze the effect of HMIS on the work efficiency of laboratory personnel at Kendari City Hospital. This research applied a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design. All laboratory staff (medical laboratory technologists, nurses, and specialist doctors) totaling 28 respondents were selected using total sampling. Data collection was conducted from February to July 2025 using a valid and reliable Likert-scale questionnaire, and analyzed using simple linear regression and one-tailed t-tests with SPSS version 27. The results showed that most respondents had positive perceptions of HMIS implementation (mean 4.19) and work efficiency (mean 4.28). Regression analysis revealed a significant positive effect of HMIS on work efficiency (coefficient 0.657; R² 0.331; t-statistic 3.590 > t-table 1.706). In conclusion, HMIS implementation positively influences laboratory personnel work efficiency. Continuous development and evaluation of HMIS, as well as integration with the Laboratory Information System, are recommended to enhance laboratory service quality.

Abstract

Abstract

Background: Caring behaviour is essential for patient health; however, it is often not practised optimally. Therefore, spiritually-based leadership is required to encourage this behaviour. Unfortunately, research investigating the ability of spiritual leadership to enhance caring behaviour through spiritual well-being is limited.Purpose: This study aimed to examine the impact of spiritual leadership and spiritual well-being in the form of calling and membership on caring behaviour. Methods: This study employed an explanatory quantitative design with a cross-sectional approach. One hundred fourteen inpatient nurses who provided comprehensive patient care were selected using a total sampling technique. Data were collected using the Spiritual Leadership Questionnaire and the Caring Behaviours Inventory. The analysis adopted partial least squares structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM) using a second-order reflective-formative model. Results: The findings demonstrate that spiritual leadership has a significant direct effect on caring behaviour (t=3.976, p=0.000), calling (t=4.672, p=0.000), and membership (t=2.845, p=0.005). However, the direct impact of membership on caring behaviour was insignificant (t=1.298, p=0.194). Calling proved to mediate the effects of spiritual leadership on caring behaviour (t=3.145, p=0.002), while membership could not function as a mediator (t=1.197, p=0.231).Conclusion: This study emphasizes the importance of spiritual leadership in nursing care, particularly in enhancing nurses’ caring behaviours. Healthcare organizations should implement training programs on spiritual leadership to encourage calling nurses to perform their duties with dedication. Developing nurse membership should be considered, but the main focus must be on strategies that strengthen nurses’ calling, as this is an essential factor in providing quality and empathetic care.
