Abstract

Inheritance is a sensitive issue that often leads to disputes and conflicts within families. In some cultures, sons are often considered to have greater rights to inheritance than daughters. This research aims to evaluate the process of teaching inheritance fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence) in the madrasah, as well as to assess the effectiveness of the methods employed in the teaching process. The research methodology employed is qualitative descriptive method, utilizing data collection techniques such as observation, interviews, and documentary studies. The research findings indicate that the process of teaching inheritance fiqh at Madrasah Aliyah Swasta Tarbiah Islamiyah faces several challenges, including a lack of conceptual understanding, The research findings also highlight insufficient utilization of diverse teaching methods, as well as inadequate learning resources. Based on the analysis, it is recommended to enhance conceptual understanding through a more practical approach, implement innovative teaching methods, and provide comprehensive and up-to-date learning resources. It is hoped that this research will contribute positively to the development of inheritance fiqh teaching in the madrasah.

Abstract

Religious character is one aspect of human personality that cannot stand alone, meaning that it is related to aspects of personality and must be trained in children as early as possible so as not to hinder the child's further developmental tasks. This ability is acquired by willingness, and encouragement from others. The goal of education is to build character, while the main goal of education is not knowledge but appearance or action. Therefore, character education in an educational institution is very important and necessary. Character education is the process of instilling certain characters as well as providing seeds so that students are able to grow their distinctive characters when running their lives. This research uses a type of qualitative research with descriptive methods. Educators or teachers in the context of character education can play five roles. First, conservator (preserver) of values that are the source of maturity norms. Second, innovator (developer) of science values. Third, transmitting values to students. Fourth, transformer (translator) of values through his/her personality and behavior in interaction with target students. Fifth, organizer (organizer) of the creation of an educational process that can be accounted for both formally (to those who appoint and assign) and morally (to the target students and God who created them). The form of implementing religious programs, namely flash boarding school activities, prayers in congregation, prayers together, reading and writing the Qur'an, blessed Friday activities, extra religious, Islamic studies, khotmil Qur'an events, annual religious activities and the creation of a religious atmosphere at school.

Abstract

Konsep akal dalam tradisi Islam klasik menjadi tema sentral dalam diskursus filsafat, teologi, dan pendidikan. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pandangan para cendekiawan Muslim klasik mengenai akal, fungsi dan perannya dalam memahami wahyu, serta kontribusinya dalam membentuk fondasi epistemologi Islam. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif studi pustaka terhadap karya-karya utama tokohtokoh seperti Al-Farabi, Al-Ghazali, Ibnu Sina, dan Ibnu Taimiyah. Hasil awal menunjukkan adanya perbedaan mendasar antara pendekatan rasional filosofis dan pendekatan sufistik-salafi dalam memahami peran akal. Sekitar 75% teks rujukan menunjukkan bahwa akal diposisikan sebagai alat vital dalam memahami kebenaran, namun tetap dalam kerangka keterbatasannya dibandingkan wahyu. Penelitian ini diharapkan memberikan pemahaman yang utuh terhadap konsep akal dalam Islam dan relevansinya dalam dialog antara nalar dan spiritualitas di masa kini.

Abstract

Konsep makanan halal merupakan aspek fundamental dalam ajaran Islam yang mencerminkan kepatuhan seorang Muslim terhadap perintah syariah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji secara mendalam perspektif Islam terhadap halal food, mulai dari dasar hukum, prinsip-prinsip syariah yang melandasinya, hingga relevansi dan tantangan penerapannya di era globalisasi saat ini. Dengan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif berbasis studi kepustakaan, penelitian ini mengidentifikasi bahwa halal food tidak sekadar aspek hukum agama, tetapi juga mencerminkan dimensi etika, spiritual, dan kesehatan. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa 87% responden muslim di perkotaan menyatakan label halal sebagai faktor penting dalam memilih produk makanan. Penelitian ini juga menunjukkan adanya tantangan dalam sertifikasi halal, standar global, serta kesadaran masyarakat terhadap pentingnya konsumsi halal. Dengan demikian, halal food merupakan bagian integral dari gaya hidup Islami yang menuntut kesadaran, pengetahuan, dan keterlibatan berbagai pihak, termasuk pemerintah, industri, dan masyarakat.

Abstract

Transaksi jual beli merupakan aktivitas ekonomi yang paling dominan dalam kehidupan masyarakat dan mendapatkan perhatian khusus dalam Islam. Dalam hukum Islam, prinsip keadilan, kerelaan, dan kejelasan menjadi pilar utama dalam menentukan keabsahan suatu transaksi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meninjau ketentuan-ketentuan hukum Islam terkait jual beli, mengidentifikasi unsur-unsur yang membatalkan jual beli, serta menganalisis bagaimana penerapan prinsip-prinsip syariah dalam praktik jual beli kontemporer. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif melalui studi literatur dan analisis simulatif terhadap praktik jual beli dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Hasil sementara menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar masyarakat masih belum memahami prinsip kehalalan transaksi secara menyeluruh, seperti unsur riba, gharar (ketidakjelasan), dan tadlis (penipuan). Temuan ini menunjukkan pentingnya edukasi hukum Islam dalam ranah muamalah.

Abstract

This study examines the integration of Islamic legal education in shaping anti-bullying character among students at Madrasah Aliyah Miftahussalam Medan. The research is grounded in the growing concern over the rise of bullying in educational environments, which disrupts students’ psychological well-being, learning processes, and school order. The central research question explores how Islamic legal principles—emphasizing justice, responsibility, brotherhood, and the prohibition of wrongdoing—can be systematically embedded to cultivate students’ capacity to prevent and resist bullying. Using a qualitative design, data were collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis, and subsequently analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that Islamic legal education is integrated through the strengthening of fiqh muamalah and ethics materials, along with the internalization of Sharia-based values in extracurricular activities and school culture. Routine habituation of respectful conduct, teacher role-modeling, and Sharia-oriented disciplinary enforcement effectively foster empathy, responsibility, and mutual respect among students. These efforts contribute to a noticeable decline in bullying incidents and enhance students’ awareness of maintaining social harmony. The study concludes that Islamic legal education plays a significant role in developing anti-bullying character and that a systematic, holistic integration of Islamic legal values provides an effective model for creating a safe, humanistic, and civilized educational environment.

Abstract

This study investigates the development of character education at the Private Madrasah Aliyah Miftahussalam Medan by examining its conceptual foundation, implementation patterns, and effectiveness within the school environment. The research addresses the central question of how Islamic ethical principles are integrated into daily educational practices to shape students’ moral character. Using a qualitative design, data were collected through classroom observations, interviews with teachers and students, and documentation of institutional programs. The findings reveal that character formation is carried out through structured religious activities, teacher role modelling, extracurricular programs, and environmental habituation that reinforces discipline, respect, and spiritual awareness. The study identifies institutional commitment and teacher exemplarity as supporting factors, whereas challenges arise from limited facilities, inconsistent program implementation, and students’ diverse backgrounds. The study concludes that character development at Miftahussalam Madrasah is progressing yet requires more systematic planning, continuous evaluation, and stronger parental engagement. These findings contribute to the refinement of character education models in contemporary Islamic schooling contexts.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis upaya guru dalam membina akhlak siswa di MAS Mizanul Kubro serta mengidentifikasi faktor pendukung dan penghambat dalam proses tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan studi dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data menggunakan model interaktif Miles & Huberman yaitu reduksi data, oenyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan/verifikasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru melakukan upaya strategis dalam pembinaan akhlak siswa di MAS Mizanul Kubro Binjai, yaitu dengan keteladanan (uswah hasanah), integrasi nilai-nilai Islami dalam pengajaran, pembiasaan adab Islami, serta pemberian hukuman dan penghargaan yang edukatif. Faktor pendukung pembinaan akhlak siswa meliputi lingkungan madrasah yang religius dan kegiatan keagamaan rutin, sedangkan faktor penghambat mencakup pengaruh negarif teman sebaya, keterbatasan guru, dan keterbatasan pengawasan. Penelitian ini menegaskan pentingnya kolaborasi antara guru, siswa, dan lingkungan untuk menciptakan pembinaan akhlak yang efektif dan berkelanjutan. Temuan ini memberikan kontribusi praktis bagi pengembangan strategi pendidikan akhlak di lembaga pendidikan Islam.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the leadership strategies employed by madrasah principals in enhancing student independence at MTs Awirasyidin Medan. The research adopts a qualitative approach using a case study method. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving the principal, teachers, and students. Data analysis was conducted interactively through the processes of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the madrasah principal plays a crucial role in developing a religious and character-based school culture through exemplary leadership, guidance, and instructional innovation. The strategies implemented include strengthening leadership practices, developing a character-based curriculum, increasing student participation in school activities, and implementing a reward and mentoring system that fosters responsibility and motivation. Furthermore, the madrasah principal integrates the values of independence into classroom learning, extracurricular programs, and the broader madrasah culture. Several challenges were identified, including limited resources and varying levels of student motivation. However, these challenges were addressed through collaboration, the optimization of teachers’ potential, and the application of a spiritual approach. Overall, the madrasah principal’s inspirational and participatory leadership, grounded in Islamic values, has proven effective in enhancing students’ discipline, responsibility, and independence.

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of Qur’anic memorization achievement and the factors contributing to variations in students’ tasmi’ performance at Tahfidz Intensive Center Medan. The research addresses how memorization outcomes are achieved within the tahfidz learning process and identifies the supporting and inhibiting factors influencing students’ performance. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed involving ten students aged 14–20 years who participated in six-month and one-year ziyadah programs. Data were collected through observation, structured interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion-drawing techniques. The findings reveal that the implementation of the tikrar method, routine muroja’ah, a disciplined learning environment, structured halaqah schedules, and strong internal and external motivation significantly support students’ memorization achievement. The study also identifies several obstacles, including fatigue, boredom, inconsistent muroja’ah, and limited family support, which negatively affect memorization retention and performance consistency. The study argues that successful Qur’anic memorization achievement depends not only on methodological effectiveness but also on continuous supervision, psychological readiness, and sustained motivational support within the educational environment.
