Abstract

Perguruan Tinggi adalah kelanjutan pendidikan menengah yang diselengarakan untuk menyiapkan peserta didik menjadi anggota masyarakat yang memiliki kemampuan akademik dan profesional yang dapat menerapkan, mengembangkan dan menciptakan ilmu pengetahuan, teknologi maupun kesenian. Proses belajar merupakan suatu hal yang kompleks bagi mahasiswa dan menentukan terjadi tidaknya belajar, sehingga mahasiswa dituntut aktif dan mandiri dalam belajarnya. Motivasi mahasiswa akan memberikan dampak yang sangat signifikan dalam jangka panjang, salah satunya dalam hal prestasi akademik. Bila motivasi tinggi, maka akan meningkatkan semangat belajar serta prestasi akademiknya. Begitupun sebaliknya bila motivasi rendah, maka akan berpengaruh pada semangat belajar dan prestasi akademik yang juga ikut menurun. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui motivasi berprestasi mahasiswa Pendidikan Biologi Universitas Khairun. Data yang disajikan berupa data mentah yang diolah menggunakan metode kualitatif yaitu suatu pendekatan yang juga disebut pendekatan investigasi karena biasanya peneliti mengumpulkan data dengan cara bertatap muka langsung dan berinteraksi dengan orang-orang di tempat penelitian. Adapun yang disajikan dalam deskripsi data ini adalah deskripsi frekwensi yang disajikan per indikator beserta prosentase frekwensi dan perolehan skor. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa, motivasi berprestasi mahasiswa pendidikan biologi Universitas Khairun sangat tinggi dengan skor senilai 85.2%.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menggunakan model pembelajaran problem based learning pada materi pencemaran lngkungan siswa kelas VII MTs Negeri 1 Kota Ternate. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar biologi melalui model Problem Based Learning (PBL) materi pencemaran lingkungan siswa kelas VII MTs Negeri 1 Kota Ternate. Penelitian dilakukan dengan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian (PTK). Pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, tes, serta dokumentasi. Sedangkan untuk analisisnya, peneliti menggunakan tehnik analisis deskriptif kualitatif. Objek penelitiannya yaitu siswa kelas VII MTs Negeri 1 Kota Ternate. Hasil penelitian menunjukan penerapan model Problem Based Learning (PBL) materi pencemaran lingkungan, dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar biologi, khususnya pada kelas VII MTs Negeri 1 Kota Ternate. Hal ini dapat dilihat pada siklus I, siswa yang dikatakan tuntas 35% atau 9 siswa, dengan nilai rata-rata yang di peroleh 48,19% sedangkan pada siklus II terjadi peningkatan siswa yang tuntas 92% atau 24 siswa dengan nilai rata-rata 84,92%. Peningkatan ketuntasan hasil belajar siswa dipengaruhi oleh aktivitas siswa dan guru. Berdasarkan hasil pengamatan terhadap aktivitas siswa dalam proses pembelajaran pada siklus II dengan menggunakan model Problem Based Learning telah mengalami peningkatan dari 50% meningkat menjadi 83%. Hal tersebut disebabkan karena pada siklus II aktivitas guru juga telah mengalami peningkatan dari 58% menjadi 83%. Dengan demikian model Problem Based Learning (PBL) materi pencemaran lingkungan, dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar biologi siswa kelas VII MTs Negeri 1 Kota Ternate.

Abstract

Awareness of environmental sanitation among adolescents not only contributes to pro-environmental behavior, but it may also be related to personal health behavior. This study aims to analyze the relationship and influence of environmental sanitation awareness attitudes on the personal health behavior of junior high school students in Ternate City, North Maluku Province. The study uses a quantitative approach with a correlational (cross-sectional) design involving 122 junior high school students. Data were collected through questionnaires on environmental sanitation awareness attitudes and personal health behavior within a score range of 0–100. Data analysis included descriptive statistics, prerequisite tests (residual normality, linearity, and homoscedasticity), Pearson correlation, and simple linear regression. Descriptive results showed an average environmental sanitation awareness attitude score of 83.47 (SD=6.87) and an average personal health behavior score of 72.28 (SD=6.85). Pearson correlation test showed a strong positive relationship between environmental sanitation awareness and personal health behavior (r=0.714; p<0.001). Simple linear regression indicated a significant effect with R²=0.510 and the model equation Y = 31.725 + 0.716X, meaning that a one-unit increase in environmental awareness predicts a 0.716-point increase in personal health behavior. These findings underscore the importance of integrating environmental education in schools as a dual strategy to enhance ecological concern while supporting healthy lifestyle behaviors among adolescents.

Abstract

Legume Cover Crop (LCC) merupakan kelompok tumbuhan dari suku Fabaceae yang berperan penting dalam konservasi tanah dan peningkatan kualitas agroekosistem berkelanjutan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan keberadaan, keragaman, dan sebaran spasial LCC di Pulau Ternate, Pulau Tidore, dan Halmahera Barat, Maluku Utara. Penelitian dilakukan secara deskriptif eksploratif melalui survei lapangan, identifikasi morfologi, serta analisis spasial menggunakan ArcGIS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat 14 spesies yang tergolong dalam 11 genus dengan total 68 aksesi. Tidore Kepulauan memiliki jumlah aksesi tertinggi (35 aksesi; 51,47%), diikuti Ternate (21 aksesi; 30,88%) dan Halmahera Barat (12 aksesi; 17,65%). Komunitas LCC didominasi oleh Centrosema pubescens dan Calopogonium mucunoides yang memiliki sebaran luas dan tingkat adaptasi tinggi pada agroekosistem tropis. Pola sebaran menunjukkan bahwa keberadaan LCC dipengaruhi oleh kondisi lingkungan dan intensitas pemanfaatan lahan. Secara ekologis, LCC berkontribusi dalam konservasi tanah, peningkatan bahan organik, serta dukungan terhadap aktivitas mikroba tanah. Hasil penelitian ini menegaskan pentingnya pemanfaatan LCC sebagai strategi pengelolaan lahan berkelanjutan di wilayah kepulauan yang rentan terhadap degradasi tanah seperti Maluku Utara.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an E-module on problems related to teaching materials in schools. The teaching materials used have not been compiled based on a learning approach that includes contextual issues and involves students in the learning process so that critical thinking skills learning has not been maximized. Based on the analysis of the problems in the background, an e-module based on a team-based project integrated with socio-scientific issues was developed. This research method uses the R&D method of the ADDIE development model. The results of this study indicate that: 1) the e-module for environmental change based on a team-based project integrated with Socio-Scientific Issues (SSI) has an average value from the media expert validator of 94% while the average value from the material expert validator is 97% in the very eligible category. 2) The results of student and teacher responses have an average percentage value of 93.21% in the good category. 3) Comparison of student pretest and posttest results in a limited scale trial on 34 students showed that the average pretest was 64.58, and the average posttest value was 86.35. In general, the developed e-module meets the criteria of being very feasible and very practical so that this e-module product can be used as a reference for critical thinking skills at SMA Negeri 2 Kota Ternate.

Abstract

Genus Coffea L. (1753), family Rubiaceae, is well known as coffee; it has 171 accepted species with many synonyms from around the world. Coffee is exotic plant in Indonesia that was imported by Dutch. Now, in North Maluku, coffee is one of the cultivated plants. This study formally reported for the first time the data for Coffea spp. in North Maluku. The exploration research was conducted from January to June 2023 and collected three accepted species and one variety of Coffea namely Coffea arabica L., C. canephora Pierre ex Froehner, C. liberica Bull. Ex Hiern, and C. liberica var. dewevrei (De Wild. & T. Durand) Lebrun. The second species and C. liberica var. dewevrei are more popular known as coffee Robusta and Excelsa respectively. All species are discovered as cultivated plants and spread in many places in North Maluku. The C. liberica var. dewevrei or excelsa coffee is only cultivated in Sula district. This publication also shares information about the location and comparison of every taxon.

Abstract

Clove flower stalks (Syzygium aromaticum L. Merr. & Perry) are agricultural waste containing eugenol compounds, which have the potential to be natural active ingredients in mosquito repellent products. This study aims to describe the formulation process of mosquito repellent made from clove flower stalks, evaluate the effectiveness of burning time, and analyze public perception of its use. The method used is descriptive quantitative. The product is formulated from a mixture of clove flower stalk powder, adhesive (joss powder), and water with a ratio of 20 g: 6 g: 40 mL, molded in a spiral shape, and dried for 2-3 days. The resulting product has a dark brown color, a distinctive clove aroma, a smooth texture, a spiral length of 65 cm, a diameter of 11 cm, and an average weight of 21 grams, resembling the shape of synthetic mosquito repellent. The average burning time reaches 9.3 hours. Public perception of this product is relatively positive, especially in terms of aroma, color, and effectiveness in repelling mosquitoes. These findings indicate that clove flower stalks have the potential to be an alternative raw material that is effective, environmentally friendly, and acceptable to the community in the development of natural mosquito repellent products.
