Abstract

SMKN 1 Koto XI Tarusan memiliki akreditasi B dan berdasarkan hasil akreditasi yang telah dilakukan ditemukan: (1) Mutu Guru dalam kategori rendah, hal ini terlihat dari kurangnya kesempatan guru dalam melakukan pengembangan diri untuk mengikuti berbagai Workshop (2) Media ajar pada program studi TKR dan TSM dari segi kuantitas dan jenis masih kurang terutama terkait dengan sistem pengapian sepeda motor. Solusi untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut adalah memberikan pelatihan kepada guru-guru dalam pembuatan media ajar mata diklat produktif. Worskhop yang diberikan melalui program Pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PKM), selain meningkatkan kompetensi guru juga menghasilkan produk media ajar berupa Simulator Sistem Pengapian Sepeda Motor. Pelatihan ini menggunakan metode ceramah, demonstrasi, dan praktek langsung. Luaran yang dihasilkan dari kegiatan ini 2 unit Simulator Sistem Pengapian Sepeda Motor. Dampak dari kegiatan ini adalah peningkatan kemampuan guru dalam merancang dan membuat media pembelajaran yang real dan kreatif.

Abstract

This research focuses on the vocational interest and readiness to enter the workforce of students in the Light Automotive Engineering (TKRO) program at SMK Negeri 2 Sungai Penuh. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between students' vocational interest and their readiness to enter the workforce. This type of research is a descriptive study with a correlational approach. The study involved 64 students enrolled in Light Automotive Engineering (TKRO). The sample size taken for this research was 39 students, selected through stratified random sampling using the Taro Yamane formula. Questionnaires that have been declared valid and reliable were utilized to collect data regarding the students' vocational interest and their readiness to enter the workforce. The data analysis was conducted using the Product Moment correlation formula. The results of the data analysis indicate a positive and significant relationship between vocational interest and the readiness to enter the workforce among Light Automotive Engineering (TKRO) students at SMK Negeri 2 Sungai Penuh, with a correlation coefficient of 0.442 (greater than 0.316) and a significance coefficient of 2.9982 (greater than 2.02269) at a 5% significance level.

Abstract

The limited availability of teaching materials in the Automotive Sensor Technology and Electronic Control course is an obstacle in learning, because the lecture process is still dominated by presentation media and lecturers’ explanations, causing students to experience difficulties in understanding abstract and technical material. In addition, no digital teaching materials are yet available to support students’ independent learning. This study aims to produce an e-book that is valid and feasible for use as a learning medium in the Automotive Sensor Technology and Electronic Control course. This study used the Research and Development method with the 4D model, which includes the Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate stages, but its implementation was limited to the Develop stage. The research subjects consisted of two validators from the Department of Automotive Engineering, Universitas Negeri Padang. Data were collected using a validation questionnaire covering the aspects of material, media, language, and instructional design, then analyzed descriptively and quantitatively through the calculation of the product validity percentage. The results showed that the developed e-book had a very high level of validity, with a material validation percentage of 89.29%, media validation of 96%, language validation of 91.74%, and instructional design validation of 89.33%. The conclusion of this study affirms that the e-book for the Automotive Sensor Technology and Electronic Control course is declared very valid and feasible for use as a learning medium. These findings imply the provision of digital teaching materials that can support independent learning and help students understand technical material on automotive sensors and electronic control.

Abstract

The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in vocational education opens up transformative opportunities to develop 21st-century skills, especially critical thinking and problem-solving, which are key competencies for prospective professionals in the automotive sector. This study examines the effectiveness of using AI (Claude and Pollo AI) through the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model in improving the critical thinking and problem-solving skills of automotive engineering students in the Vehicle Motion Mechanics course. The study, using a pre-experimental intact group comparison design, involved 37 third-semester students, consisting of an experimental group () and a control group (). The experimental group learned using AI-based PjBL, while the control group received conventional Discovery Learning. Data were collected through validated analytical rubrics and analyzed using an independent samples t-test and effect size. The results showed that the experimental group obtained a much higher critical thinking score (M = 82.45; SD = 6.23) compared to the control group (M = 71.33; SD = 7.89), . Similar improvements were also found in problem-solving skills (M = 84.12; SD = 5.87 vs. M = 69.78; SD = 8.45), , which indicates a strong practical impact. These findings confirm that the integration of AI through PjBL effectively strengthens critical thinking and problem-solving skills in automotive vocational education, while providing empirical evidence to drive technology-based engineering learning transformation.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to design instructional videos that will make learning easier for students. In this study the research and development (R&D) method was used and the subjects in this study consisted of material experts, media experts, and class XI students of Light Vehicle Engineering SMKN 1 West Sumatra. The data analysis technique of this research uses a quantitative descriptive technique, applies the results of product design in the form of learning video media, tests the level of validation and product feasibility on vehicle body electricity in light vehicle electricity subjects. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the design of the learning video for the vehicle body electrical system in the light vehicle electrical maintenance subject is very suitable for use as a learning medium because it can be accessed anywhere and anytime and can be viewed repeatedly. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk merancang video pembelajaran yang akan membuat belajar lebih mudah bagi siswa. Dalam penelitian ini digunakan metode research and development (R&D) dan subjek dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari ahli materi, ahli media, dan siswa kelas XI Teknik Kendaraan Ringan SMKN 1 Sumatera Barat. Teknik analisis data penelitian ini menggunakan teknik deskriptif kuantitatif, mengaplikasikan hasil perancangan produk dalam bentuk media video pembelajaran, menguji tingkat validasi dan kelayakan produk pada kelistrikan bodi kendaraan mata pelajaran kelistrikan kendaraan ringan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa Perancangan video pembelajaran sistem kelistrikan bodi kendaraan pada mata pelajaran pemeliharaan kelistrikan kendaraan ringan ini sangat layak digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran karena dapat di akses dimanapun dan kapanpun dan bisa dilihat secara berulang-ulang.

Abstract

The purpose of the community service is to improve teachers' skill in terms of mechanical drawing and realize it in the form of prototype objects utilized additive manufacturing technology at Vocational High Schools in Tanjung Raya-Agam Regency. The workshop material consists of 3D digital drawing designs using the AutoCad software, slicing parameter settings through the Cura software, furthermore the printing process on a 3D printing machine. Lecture technique was applied in terms of conveying teaching materials, discussions, demonstrations, and individual tasks. The tasks of digital drawing transformed into 3-dimensional objects through a printing process on machine. The workshop completed in 2-day duration with 15 participants of productive subject teachers of mechanical engineering departmen. producing several products in the form of 3-dimensional alphabets, table top organizers, and gear profiles. Some of products produces such as 3D alphabets, table top organizers, and gear profile. The results of the workshop revealed that the teachers' competencies had increased in designing 3D objects and creating prototype objects on 3D printing machine. This is proven by several prototype products that were produced. The enthusiasm of the participants increased considering that 3D printing machine able to generate digital mechanical drawing into prototype products. The competencies taught during workshop provides stimulus to participants to be creative in generate 3D products such as decoration, merchandise and even miniatures that are used as learning media. The product results achieved after this training activity are satisfactory with good geometry, dimensions and neatness of objects.

Abstract

SMK Negeri 2 Lubuk Basung menghadapi permasalahan keterbatasan kompetensi guru dalam mengoperasikan test bench common rail yang menyebabkan kerusakan fatal pada peralatan dan tidak optimalnya pembelajaran teknologi otomotif. Program ini bertujuan mentransformasi keterampilan diagnostik guru dalam mengoperasikan test bench common rail dan scantools agar dapat diaplikasikan secara optimal dalam pembelajaran sistem injeksi diesel modern. Program dilaksanakan melalui empat tahapan sistematis yaitu perbaikan peralatan, pelatihan intensif, implementasi dan pendampingan, serta evaluasi berkelanjutan yang melibatkan 11 guru dengan pendekatan mixed methods dan desain pre-test post-test. Data kuantitatif dianalisis menggunakan paired t-test dan effect size Cohen's d, sedangkan data kualitatif dianalisis menggunakan analisis tematik. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan peserta yang signifikan secara statistik (p=0,026) dengan effect size Cohen's d=0,665 kategori sedang hingga besar. Secara kualitatif, program mendorong peningkatan kepercayaan diri, perubahan persepsi positif terhadap teknologi, motivasi berkelanjutan, serta terbukanya kolaborasi dengan perguruan tinggi dan industri otomotif.

Abstract

Keterbatasan tingginya biaya operasional menyebabkan produktivitas padi Kelompok Tani Umpila di Nagari VII Koto Talago hanya mencapai 4,2 ton/ha, jauh di bawah rata-rata nasional 5,1 ton/ha. Program pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan meningkatkan keberdayaan Kelompok Tani Umpila dalam aspek produktivitas pertanian melalui penerapan mesin cultivator multipurpose berbahan bakar alternatif. Menggunakan pendekatan Participatory Action Research (PAR), program dilaksanakan selama delapan bulan mencakup verifikasi teknis mesin, implementasi pada lahan percontohan 10 hektar, pelatihan kapasitas bagi 20 petani anggota, serta pendampingan berkelanjutan enam bulan pascaimplementasi. Program berhasil meningkatkan produktivitas padi menjadi 4,9–5,1 ton/ha, memangkas antrian pengolahan lahan dari 7–10 hari menjadi 2–3 hari, menekan biaya operasional 28–44%, dan memperbaiki R/C ratio dari 1,4 menjadi 1,8–2,0. Keberdayaan operasional petani meningkat dari 0% menjadi 66,7% dari 72 petani aktif, diperkuat terbentuknya Tim Mekanik Tani (TMT) sebagai first responder teknis mandiri dari dalam kelompok. Hasil ini membuktikan bahwa integrasi teknologi tepat guna dan penguatan kapasitas petani secara nyata mentransformasi pertanian tradisional menuju pertanian yang produktif, efisien, dan berkelanjutan.

Abstract

This study aims to develop instructional video media for the Automotive Electronic Sensors and Control course as a solution to the low level of student understanding in visualizing the working principles of sensors and vehicle control systems. The research employed the 4D development model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate), which included needs analysis, video design, expert validation, and practicality testing with students. Validation results from material and media experts show that the developed video is highly valid, with an Aiken’s V score of 0.81. Practicality testing involving 75 students produced scores ranging from 86% to 87%, indicating that the video is highly practical, easy to use, and effective in enhancing students’ understanding of automotive sensor concepts and control systems. The study concludes that the developed video is an effective instructional medium, supports student independent learning, and is feasible for use in both classroom and self-directed learning contexts.Keywords: learning videos, automotive sensors, electronic controls, educational media, 4D models

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas peningkatan performa mesin sepeda motor matik Yamaha Aerox 155cc melalui optimasi sistem Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). Fokus kajian adalah perubahan sudut primary pulley dan pemilihan massa roller, karena keduanya menentukan karakter penyaluran torsi dan daya. Metode eksperimen menggunakan desain faktorial pada dua sudut primary pulley (14° standar dan 13,5° modifikasi) dan tiga jenis roller (standar, sliding 12 gram, sliding 10 gram). Uji performa dilakukan dengan chassis dynamometer pada rentang 3000–9000 rpm dengan tiga pengulangan tiap konfigurasi. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa kombinasi primary pulley 13,5° dan sliding roller 10 gram meningkatkan daya maksimum dari 7,35 kW menjadi 9,52 kW atau sekitar 22,8% dibandingkan kondisi standar, sedangkan torsi tertinggi 11,70 Nm dicapai pada pulley 13,5° dengan roller standar. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa pengaturan sudut pulley dan konfigurasi roller yang tepat mampu mengoptimalkan transmisi CVT dan menjadi dasar teknis bagi strategi tuning yang efisien dan ekonomis. This study investigates improvement of Yamaha Aerox 155cc scooter performance through optimization of the Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) system. The analysis focuses on primary pulley angle and roller mass selection, since both parameters govern torque and power delivery. A factorial experimental design used two primary pulley angles (standard 14° and modified 13.5°) and three roller types (standard, 12 g sliding, 10 g sliding). Performance tests were conducted on a chassis dynamometer over 3000–9000 rpm with three repetitions for each configuration. The combination of a 13.5° primary pulley and a 10 g sliding roller increased maximum power from 7.35 kW to 9.52 kW, or about 22.8% above the standard configuration, while the highest torque of 11.70 Nm was obtained from the 13.5° pulley with standard rollers. These findings show that appropriate pulley-angle adjustment and roller configuration can optimize CVT transmission and support efficient and economical tuning strategies.
