Abstract

This study aims to determine teacher strategies for addressing reading difficulties in first-grade students at Pombewõ Elementary School. The study used a qualitative, descriptive approach. Subjects included first-grade homeroom teachers and first-grade students at Pombewõ Elementary School. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. The data obtained were then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that students' reading difficulties focused on three main aspects: visual, phonetic, and psychological. In the visual aspect, students had difficulty distinguishing letters with similar shapes and had a poor ability to memorize alphabetic shapes. In the phonetic aspect, students have not yet mastered the relationship between letters and sounds and have difficulty combining syllables. Meanwhile, in the psychological aspect, students demonstrated low self-confidence, shyness, and fear of peer evaluation. To address these issues, teachers implemented various strategies, such as the use of syllable and phonics methods, reading aloud techniques to improve reading fluency, and game-based learning to increase student motivation. The results of the study showed that the strategy was effective in helping students improve their reading skills and supporting the transition process from the spelling stage to fluent reading.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of using digital learning media assisted by Google Arts and Culture on the learning outcomes of Arts, Culture, and Crafts (SBDP) of fifth-grade students at SD Inpres 2 Tanamodindi. This study used a quantitative approach with a Pre-experimental method and a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The subjects were 28 fifth-grade students at SD Inpres 2 Tanamodindi. The data collection technique used a learning outcome test in the form of multiple-choice questions given before (Pretest) and after treatment (Posttest). The data obtained were analyzed using descriptive statistics, normality tests, and Normalized Gain (N-Gain) tests. The results showed an increase in student learning outcomes after the implementation of digital learning media assisted by Google Arts and Culture, as indicated by an increase in the average score from Pretest to Posttest and the results of the N-Gain calculation in the moderate to high increase category. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of digital learning media assisted by Google Arts and Culture has a positive effect on the SBDP learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at SD Inpres 2 Tanamodindi.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the deep learning approach and identify supporting and inhibiting factrors in the Arts, Culture, and Crafts (SBdP) subject in class IV A of SD Negeri 5 Palu. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. The research subjects consisted of class IV A teachers and 23 students. Data collection was carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that the deep learning approach has been implemented through the principles of meaningful learning, mindful learning, and joyful learning. The teacher links the material to students’ real experiences, facilitates reflection activities, and creates an active and enjoyable learning atmosphere through discussions, practices, educational games, and ice breakers. This implementation shows that the indicators of the deep learning approach have been met in the SBdP learning process and are able to increase student engagement, creativity, and understanding. However, in the reflection aspect, some students are still unable to explain in depth the process and learning outcomes obtained. Supporting factors for implementing a deep learning approach include teacher competence, a conducive learning environment, and adequate school facilities, while inhibiting factors include differences in student abilities and limited learning time. Thus, a deep learning approach can support the creation of meaningful learning, conscious, and enjoyable Arts and Culture learning in elementary school.

Abstract

This study explores the implementation of Deep Learning as a pedagogical approach to supporting student creativity in fourth-grade Fine Arts education at SD Inpres Perumnas Palu. A qualitative single-case study was conducted involving one Fine Arts teacher and 25 fourth-grade students. Data were collected through classroom observations, semi-structured interviews with the teacher and selected students, and documentation, and were analysed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. The findings showed that the Deep Learning approach was enacted through five interconnected stages: learning planning, stimulus and orientation, idea exploration, the creative process, and reflection. The use of recycled plastic bottles as functional flower pots connected artistic expression with environmental awareness, practical design, and students’ everyday experiences. Students displayed creative behaviours through fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration, as reflected in alternative sketches, modified designs, varied decorative choices, functional features, and revisions after feedback. However, student participation was uneven; while some students worked independently, others required examples, encouragement, repeated prompts, or practical assistance. Teacher facilitation through reflective questioning, feedback, motivation, and differentiated scaffolding was therefore important in supporting meaningful participation. The study illustrates how Deep Learning can support contextual and creativity-oriented Fine Arts learning using accessible recycled materials. Abstract

This study aims to analyse the characteristics of children's drawings and identify the connection between the surrounding environment and the visual representations produced by students at SDN Ensa, Mori Atas District, Central Sulawesi. The research employs a qualitative approach with a phenomenological study design. The research subjects—comprising students from grades IV, V, and VI, teachers, and parents—were selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation of the children's drawings. Data analysis involved data reduction, coding, visual analysis, theoretical interpretation, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate a strong link between the children's drawings and their living environments. Among the 29 drawings analysed, the community environment was the most dominant theme (51.72%), followed by the family environment (20.69%), natural environment (17.24%), school environment (6.90%), and other themes (3.45%). Frequently depicted objects included houses, trees, rivers, mountains, roads, trucks, schools, and daily social activities. Colour usage was dominated by green, blue, brown, and yellow, reflecting actual environmental conditions. Furthermore, the children's visual capabilities demonstrated development corresponding to their grade levels, characterised by increased detail, composition, and spatial relationships within the drawings. Family, school, community, and natural environments were found to influence the characteristics of the drawings, with the community environment being the most dominant factor. These findings suggest that children's drawings reflect visual, social, emotional, and cultural experiences shaped by their interactions with their surroundings.
