Abstract

Introduction. This study aims to examine the information dissemination process implemented by Museum Subak. Dissemination is carried out to anticipate the low literacy of the community towards the values of Subak culture and trigger a shift in the function of agricultural land into a tourism area that can threaten the sustainability of the Subak system as a local cultural heritage. Research Methods. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach and data collection through direct observation, interviews with selected informants, and analysis of documents related to activities at the Museum Subak. Data Analysis. Data analysis techniques used open coding, axial coding, and selective coding. Results. The results of this study are based on the SECI Model. These findings indicate the need for more adaptive, multilingual, and contextual strategies so that the transformation of Subak cultural knowledge can take place effectively and sustainably. Conclusion. This study found that dissemination activities at the Museum Subak primarily focused on the internalization process, namely the transformation of explicit knowledge into tacit knowledge through direct involvement of participants in learning activities. The research suggests that that social media use shouldbe optimized as a digital-based dissemination tool.

Abstract

Background: The preservation of cultural heritage manuscripts has long been guided by conservation techniques developed for European paper. However, Daluang paper behaves differently from Western paper, raising concerns about the suitability of directly applying European methods to its care. Purpose: This study aimed to compare the physical preservation between Daluang manuscripts and European paper manuscripts, for which different methods were used to preserve cultural heritage. Methods: A total of 38 peer-reviewed articles were analyzed using a systematic literature review (SLR) from the Scopus database between 2015 – 2025. Results: The findings provided evidence on the susceptibility of Daluang manuscripts to fungi and moisture-induced degradation, particularly in tropical countries. In European paper manuscripts, changes in acidity often lead to corrosion. Protection methods for Daluang manuscripts focus on environmental adjustments of and preventative measures, whereas European paper requires chemical treatments, such as acid reduction or phytate-based ink protection. Conclusions: This study concludes that multilateralism is needed for manuscript preservation, with underpinning principles grounded in conservation science, cultural heritage, and the analytical investigation of materials. More localized research and conservation are urgently needed for endangered collections such as the Daluang manuscripts. Implications: These findings imply that conservation implementation must be adapted to the material characteristics, historical trajectories, and environmental contexts of each manuscript, as demonstrated by European and Daluang traditions. In practice, this implies the urgency of developing localized, preventive conservation strategies integrated with digitization to support sustainable preservation and broader access.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the trends and development of scientific publications on palm leaf manuscripts within the context of knowledge preservation, based on data indexed in the Scopus database from 2014 to 2024. The research employs bibliometric analysis with the support of VOSviewer software to visualize keyword networks, productive journals, and country distribution. The results indicate a total of 168 documents on this topic, with India ranking as the most productive country, followed by Indonesia with 23 publications. Restaurator is identified as the journal with the highest number of contributions. Keyword cluster visualization reveals that research on palm leaf manuscripts has developed through various multidisciplinary approaches, including philology, cultural conservation, and the application of digital technologies such as script recognition and image processing. These findings affirm that knowledge preservation encompasses not only the physical conservation of manuscripts but also the safeguarding of their content, cultural values, and contextual significance. Therefore, Indonesia’s scholarly contribution should be further enhanced through interdisciplinary collaboration and institutional capacity building to support the sustainable preservation and utilization of local manuscripts.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the development map regarding knowledge sharing in the university library. The research was conducted in December 2022 by searching through the Scopus database with the keywords knowledge sharing and university library. Data from search results were analyzed descriptively based on the year of publication, the country that published the progress of the research results, and the research subjects. To obtain a research development map, the data is exported into a Comma Separated Values (CSV) file format. The export data is then processed and analyzed using the VOSViewer application program to find out a bibliometric map of research developments regarding knowledge sharing in university libraries and of course provide research topics regarding Knowledge Sharing in University Libraries that can be researched in the future.

Abstract

Preservation as a Service for Trust (PaaST) is an innovative approach to digital archive preservation that integrates technical, policy, and audit functions into a trust-based managed service model. Given the increasing volume of digital data and the risks of format degradation and cybersecurity, PaaST exists to ensure the authenticity, integrity, and trustworthiness of long-term archives. This study uses a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach to identify trends, practices, and challenges in PaaST implementation from 2019 to 2025. The literature search process was conducted on various academic databases and institutional documents related to digital preservation standards such as OAIS (ISO 14721), ISO 16363 trusted repository certification, and the application of cryptography and blockchain technology for authenticating archives. The review results indicate that the managed digital preservation service model is increasingly being adopted by large archives and libraries because it is considered efficient, secure, and sustainability-oriented. The use of fixity check mechanisms, digital signatures, and timestamping (both blockchain-based and non-blockchain-based) has been proven to improve data integrity and the evidentiary value of archives. However, key challenges remain: financial sustainability, compliance with standards, and limited technical resources in small institutions. This article emphasizes the importance of synergy between technology, institutional policies, and long-term governance in PaaST implementation.

Abstract

This systematic literature review examines knowledge management (KM) implementation in academic libraries by mapping technology enabled practices and identifying technological and organizational barriers that constrain adoption. Following PRISMA guided procedures, a Scopus based search (2015–2025) retrieved 118 records; after screening against predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria, 11 full-text journal articles were included for narrative synthesis. Study quality and contribution were appraised using a relevance-based scoring scheme (1–10) aligned with the review focus (technology use, implementation detail, and barrier reporting). The synthesis indicates that academic libraries operationalize KM primarily through implementation of collaborative technologies, IoT, analytics and data-driven technologies and blockchain technology and digital security systems. Key barriers recur across contexts of infrastructure limitations, limited human resource capacity, limited managerial support and policies, knowledge hoarding, and standardization and technology interoperability. Reported impacts include improved knowledge sharing, stronger service effectiveness, and enhanced support for academic activities. This review consolidates technology categories and barrier mechanisms into an implementation-oriented synthesis and offers actionable implications for library leaders and policymakers to strengthen infrastructure readiness, interoperability planning, governance clarity, and workforce capability development for sustainable KM implementation.

Abstract

Plain Language Summaries (PLS) are used to increase the readability and public accessibility of research findings, making them highly relevant within knowledge sharing (KS) practices. This study conducted a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) using the Scopus database to identify the roles of PLS in KS and the technologies utilized in their creation. Article selection followed the PRISMA framework, resulting in 24 eligible studies. Data were extracted and synthesized using Microsoft Excel. The findings indicate that PLS play a critical role in simplifying scientific information, enhancing comprehension, expanding dissemination reach, and strengthening user engagement. Additionally, eight categories of technologies were identified, including readability tools, machine learning, large language models, knowledge translation platforms, and multimedia production tools. Overall, PLS serve as a strategic instrument for cross-audience knowledge transfer and require strengthened standards and governance of technological tools to ensure their quality and effectiveness.
