Abstract

The education system in curriculum 2013 is emphasizing the active participation of students in learning by making students as subjects of learning. The application of the role of students as learning subjects can be maximized by the use of instructional media. Learning media commonly used in schools are students' books and student worksheets. The analysis that has been carried out reveals that the student book and the Student Worksheet have a weakness that is the appearance that does not attract students' interest and is not accompanied by relevant illustrations. This weakness was later made a reference to develop a respiratory system booklet in humans as a supplement to natural science learning for students of grade VIII junior high school. This research is a research development using the Plomp method. The research phase consisted of the preliminary research, development and prototypingt phase, and assessment phase. Data analysis uses quantitative and qualitative analysis. The booklet is validated by two validators. The booklet assessment stage is done by evaluating one using three students with different academic abilities. The results are obtaining booklets with a validation value of 89.56%. This study uses a self-evaluation questionnaire, expert reviews, and one-on-one evaluation. The conclusion obtained is that the booklet has very valid criteria and is very suitable for use as a learning supplement.

Abstract

Education important element develop knowledge make shape one’s character. Quality of education can be improved by paying attention to the curriculum and learning media used. 2013 curriculum based science textbooks and student worksheets are a medium used by student to study natural science in class VIII SMPN 11 Padang. The availability of learning resources at school is still lacking, so that students are less motivated in learning science, in addition to the lack of availability of learning resources, other factors that cause low motivation of students because textbooks are used thickly and are difficult to carry anywhere. Based on the weaknesses that were found, the booklet was developed as an independent learning resources of natural science in class VIII junior high school. Booklet media development is made as attractive as possible, so that students are motivated to learn science. This development research uses a Plomp development model consisting of (preliminary research), (development and prototyping phase), and assessment phase (assessment phase). Data analysis is qualitative and quantitative. Booklet development stage is validated by 2 validators. At the assessment stage uses one to one evaluation by 3 student in class VIII of the SMPN 11 Padang which has high, medium, and low academic abilities. Validity test result obtained of 87,62% with very valid criteria and results of one to one evaluation showed that the developed booklet had an attractive appearance and language that was easy to understand, sothat students were interested in using booklets in the learning process. Based on this, it can be concluded that the human circulatory system booklet as an independent teaching material of natural science developed is valid and suitable for use in the learning process.

Abstract

Mooghurt is a trademark of fermented cow's milk similar to yoghurtyang made by the KWU unit of the Student Association majoring in Biology FMIPA UNP. Mooghurt is a biotechnological product of fermented milk that is beneficial for improving the health of the digestive tract, reducing cholesterol in the blood, and stimulating the nervous system. Fresh cow's milk as the main raw material for mooghurt is obtained from the city of Padang Panjang. Padang Panjang is one of the centers of good quality cow's milk production in West Sumatra. Cow dairy farm products in Padang Panjang provide business opportunities for the surrounding community, including the academics of Biology FMIPA UNP in increasing student entrepreneurial spirit. The process of making Mooghurt consists of: 1) making a starter; 2) making mooghurt; 3) manufacture fruit extracts or jellies to complement the presentation.

Abstract

PPUPIK Mooghurt is a business unit that is part of the Entrepreneurship Unit of the Student Association majoring in Biology, FMIPA UNP. To improve the performance of the PPUPIK Mooghurt business unit, a more reliable marketing strategy is needed. The purpose of PKM PPUPIK Mooghurt: to find out the marketing capability of the KWU HMJ Biology FMIPA UNP unit team and offer solutions to their problems. The marketing ability of the PPUPIK Mooghurt team in general has not been satisfactory, so solutions are given to carry out training and socialize mooghurt products to the public. The results obtained were an increase in marketing capabilities for the PPUPIK Mooghurt team, and the product became better known in the community because teachers were also able to disseminate information to their students.

Abstract

The aims of developing classroom based assessment for science teacher at secondary school in Koto Tangah district are enhancing the science teacher’s competency and strengthening the principle of developing classroom based assessment. Participants are consisted of 35 junior high school science teacher in Koto Tangah district. Training and workshop method were used in this program to accomplish the goals. Before implementing the program, participants were given a prior knowledge about the basic rules of classroom based assessment. In addition, participants were given the instruction sheets to arrange the classroom based assessment and exercising to develop it with instructor’s guidance.

Abstract

Learning is a process of interaction between students and educators as considerable as learning resources in learning environment. The use of media in learning plays an important role in providing clearer explanation for difficult materials or concepts for students. This research aimed at developing booklet as a biology teaching suplement, especially in human movement system material for XI grade. This R&D research used the Plomp model which consisted of preliminary research, prototype development phase, and assessment phase. The data were analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. The booklet developed was validated by 3 validators. The human movement system booklet for XI grade was categorized as very valid (94.11), stated as very practical by students (94.59) and teachers (92.19). It is suggested for teacher to use the human movement system booklet developed for XI graders.

Abstract

Social attitudes are needed by students in improving communication and collaboration skills in the 4.0 industrial revolution era. This study aimed to identify the effect of the jigsaw learning model as a community learning strategy on students' social attitudes in digestive system material. This quasi-experimental research was using a non-equivalent pretest-posttest control group design. The population used was eighth-graders in Padang. The samples involved were two groups selected through a simple random sampling technique. The instrument used was observation sheets to measure four aspects of social attitudes, including social discipline, tolerance, self-confidence, and collaboration. Data were analyzed using one-way ANCOVA. The result showed that the jigsaw as a community learning strategy has a significant effect on students' social attitudes (p-value < 0.05). As a recommendation, the jigsaw learning model can be applied to promote students' social attitudes.

Abstract

Kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi adalah kemampuan yang mencakup tiga aspek yaitu analisis, evaluasi dan penciptaan sesuai dengan implementasi kurikulum 2013. Berdasarkan pengamatan pra-penelitian yang dilakukan di SMAN 2 Koto XI Tarusan diperoleh bahwa instrumen yang digunakan oleh guru masih pada level kognitif C1-C3 dengan persentase C1 56%, C2 40%, dan C3 4%, sedangkan untuk tuntutan kemampuan berpikir level Siswa yang lebih tinggi harus mampu berpikir pada level kognitif C4-C6. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk  menghasilkan instrumen penilaian kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi tentang materi sistem pencernaan  dengan menggunakan model 4D  models. Subjek penelitian dua orang dosen biologi FMIPA UNP sebagai validator dengan rata-rata hasil validasi instrumen penilaian sebesar 78,82% dengan kriteria cukup valid. Ini menunjukkan instrumen penilaian kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi tentang materi sistem pencernaan cukup valid dikembangkan dari segi materi, konstruksi, bahasa serta tingkat kognitif instrumen penilaian kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi sehingga dapat digunakan untuk mengukur kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi peserta didik tentang materi sistem pencernaan.

Abstract

Media pembelajaran merupakan kemajuan besar dalam bidang pendidikan, melalui media mempermudah guru dan peserta didik dalam memahami konsep pelajaran. Objek yang tidak dapat diamati secara langsung karena keterbatasan waktu, biaya, dan lain sebagainya menggunakan media pembelajaran kita dapat melihat dan mempelajari objek tersebut. Pemilihan bahan ajar yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan peserta didik bukanlah hal yang mudah, guru harus mengetahui bagaimana karakteristik peserta didik untuk dapat menyesuaikan bahan ajar yang digunakan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kebutuhan pengembangan booklet sistem imun manusia sebagai suplemen bahan ajar biologi kelas XI di SMAN 4 Padang. Studi dilakukan dengan metode survei menggunakan angket yang disebarkan kepada peserta didik dan guru biologi di SMAN 4 Padang. Angket diisi oleh 159 peserta didik kelas XII IPA dan satu orang guru biologi SMAN 4 Padang. Hasil angket menunjukkan bahwa peserta didik membutuhkan sumber belajar tambahan pada materi sistem imun manusia, kriteria sumber belajar yang dibutuhkan oleh peserta didik yaitu materi yang disampaikan lengkap, singkat, padat dan disertai gambar. Pengembangan booklet sebagai suplemen bahan ajar biologi dapat menjadi solusi dari permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh guru dan peserta didik khusunya pada materi sistem imun manusia.

Abstract

Pemilihan media yang tepat sangat berpengaruh terhadap keberlangsungan proses pembelajaran. Media yang praktis dan menarik sangat berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan motivasi peserta didik untuk belajar. Booklet merupakan salah satu media pembelajaran berbetuk buku kecil yang dilengkapi gambar yang dapat dijadikan sebagai salah satu suplemen bahan ajar bagi peserta didik. Tujuan penelitian ini  pengembangan produk berupa booklet sistem ekskresi pada manusia sebagai suplemen bahan ajar biologi kelas XI SMA. Pengembangan booklet menggunakan model pengembangan 4-D yang dilakukan sampai tahap develop (uji validitas). Penelitian divalidasi oleh 2 orang dosen Biologi dan 1 orang guru Biologi SMA. Hasil rata-rata nilai validitas booklet sebesar 87,68% dengan kategori sangat valid. Hasil validitas dinilai dari aspek kelayakan isi, kebahasaan, penyajian, dan kegrafikaan.Jadi, booklet sistem ekskresi pada manusia sebagai suplemen bahan ajar biologi kelas XI SMA dapat digunakan karena sudah dikatakan layak.
