Abstract

Materi biologi yang dianggap sulit oleh peserta didik sehingga berpengaruh pada hasil belajar siswa yang rendah. Penyebab kesulitan yang dialami dalam mempelajari biologi adalah karakteristik materi biologi yang tak jarang terdapat konsep-konsep abstrak yang sulit dipahami. Selain itu, kurangnya media pembelajaran akan mempengaruh kemampuan siswa dalam belajar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kebutuhan pengembangan booklet sistem koordinasi sebagai suplemen bahan ajar biologi kelas XI. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei dengan cara menyebarkan angket kepada 108 peserta didik dan satu orang guru biologi. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu observasi,wawancara, dan kuesioner. Metode yang diguankan dalam mengumpulkan data yaitu kuesioner. Teknik yang digunakan untuk menganalisis data yaitu analisis deskriptif kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil angket menunjukkan bahwa peserta didik dalam mempelajari biologi sudah dilengkapi dengan bahan ajar, tetapi peserta didik masih kesulitan memahami materi sistem koordinasi dan membutuhkan bahan ajar tambahan pada materi sistem koordinasi. Bahan ajar yang paling dibutuhkan peserta didik yaitu bahan ajar berupa bacaan yang disertai gambar dan memuat penjelasan materi yang singkat, padat, dan jelas. Pengembangan booklet sebagai suplemen bahan ajar biologi dapat dijadikan solusi dari permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh guru dan peserta didik pada materi sulit sistem koordinasi.

Abstract

Sweet potato varieties (Ipomoea batatas) Pucuk Hitam Panyalaian and Madu Pucuk Hitam Panyalaian have the potential to be a superior commodity in West Sumatra, but the information of genetic diversity is very limited. Data on the diversity of sweet potato germplasm is beneficial in the selection of plants to obtain superior cultivars in plant breeding. Aim: The aim of the study was to find specific primers for the study of sweet potato genetic markers using Ipomoea batatas chloroplast genes matK. Methods: DNA extraction from sweet potato young leaves; designing forward and reverse primers Ipomoea batatas chloroplast genes matK; PCR; sequencing; bioinformatics analysis and species identification by comparing the NCBI database. Results: Plant DNA barcoding PCR using designed primers matK were successfully resulting single DNA band in different amplicon size in some samples. This indicating that the designed primers used were able to distinguish variation in one species.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus has a tendency to be inherited. The inheritance pattern of diabetes mellitus in the Minangkabau ethnic group follows the mitochondrial and autosomal inheritance pattern. Patients with diabetes mellitus in the Minangkabau ethnicity have a equal distribution between men and women. Patients with diabetes mellitus in this ethnic group generally know that they suffer from diabetes mellitus in old age or after other complications arise due to diabetes mellitus.

Abstract

Booklet adalah salah satu media pembelajaran berbentuk buku kecil yang dilengkapi dengan gambar. Kesulitan peserta didik dalam membawa buku ke sekolah mengakibatkan tingkat motivasi belajar menjadi menurun. Pengembangan booklet pada materi struktur dan fungsi jaringan tumbuhan untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar peserta didik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji validitas booklet struktur dan fungsi jaringan tumbuhan yang sudah dikembangkan dengan model pengembangan 4D. Penelitian dilakukan di Jurusan Biologi UNP. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil rata-rata uji validitas booklet struktur dan fungsi jaringan tumbuhan yaitu 88,95% dengan kategori sangat valid.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the quality of the final exam questions for the odd semester biology class XI MAN 2 Jambi City. The research subjects were 167 students of class XI MAN 2 Jambi City in the 2020/2021 academic year. This research is a descriptive study with data collection techniques through test instruments in the form of multiple choice questions, answer sheets, and answer keys. The data analysis technique used the Anates version 4.0.9 program to determine the reliability, level of difficulty, discriminatory power, distractor quality, and recap of item analysis. The results in this study indicate that the reliability value of the test items is 0.06 with very low criteria. For the item difficulty level, there are 4 questions of "very easy" difficulty, 2 questions "easy", 7 questions "medium", 4 difficult "difficult" questions, and 8 questions "very difficult". On the discriminatory power of items, there are 7 items classified into the "very bad" category, 8 items classified as "bad", 6 items classified as "enough", and 4 items classified as "good". While the results of the analysis of the quality of the item distractors, which have a distractor level of less than 51% which are generally found in each item. In addition, there are very few distractors in the percentage categories (51-75 or 126-150) and 76-125. Therefore, it can be concluded that, overall there are no questions that can be directly used, but some questions must be improved, and the rest cannot be used. There are 11 questions that need to be improved, and the remaining 14 questions that cannot be used.

Abstract

Education in the 21st century aims to change the learning paradigm from teacher-centered to student-centered in order to improve student learning outcomes. Hence, a learning model is needed to improve the students' ability to solve problems by paying attention to their academic ability. This study aims to determine the effect of using the student academic ability-based problem solving and 5E cycle learning models on the student learning outcomes in addictive materials and addictive substances. This study used an experimental method with a 2x2 factorial design. The population in this study was all students of grade VIII SMPN 18 Padang. This study's sample was chosen using the purposive sampling technique, the data collection techniques for the student learning outcomes used to test techniques at the end of learning. The data analysis was performed by using the prerequisite tests (normality and homogeneity tests) and the hypothesis tests using 2-way ANOVA and continued with Bonferroni advanced test. The results show that:  There is an interaction between the problem-solving model and the academic ability-based 5E Cycle learning model on the student learning outcomes, but there is no significant difference in learning outcomes between the problem-solving model and the 5E learning cycle model. There is an effect on the academic ability towards the student learning outcomes. There is no difference in the student learning outcomes between students with high academic ability in the two sample classes. There is no difference between the students with low academic ability in the two sample classes.

Abstract

This article review aims to look at the effect of applying the jigsaw type cooperative learning model assisted with mind map recitation on students' learning competencies. The method used is a systematic review by reviewing articles that are relevant to the author's research. The data used is obtained from relevant journals that are relevant to the problem the authors discuss. Data is taken from databases such as SINTA, Google Scholar and other relevant journal websites. The variables used in this study are the type of jigsaw cooperative learning model (independent variable) and the students' learning competency (dependent variable). Starting from elementary school level, junior high school, high school, to college can also feel the positive influence of the application of this type of cooperative learning model jigsaw. Because of the positive influence of the application of this type of jigsaw cooperative learning model, it is expected that the teacher will apply the material that is both theoretical and practical. This type of jigsaw cooperative learning method can improve student learning outcomes and activeness so that problems that occur in the learning process can be overcome.

Abstract

Keberadaan lingungan sekitar merupakan sumber belajar yang tidak bisa dipisahkan dari pembelajaran IPA khususnya Biologi. Tardisi rantau larangan Tandikat merupakan wujud kearifan masyarakat setempat mengelola keseimbangan lingkungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan merekonstruksi pengetahuan ilmiah (scientific knowledge) dar tradisi rantau larangan. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi dan wawancara. Sumber data yang digunakan yakni tokoh masyarakat, tokoh adat dan masyarakat setempat yang dipilih secara purposive. Data dianalisis melalui tahapan reduksi data, penyajian data, penarikan kesimpulan dan verifikasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tradisi rantau larangan masyarakat merupakan bagian dalam sistem pengelolaan sumber daya perairan sungai di kampung Tandikat. Adanya larangan kepada masyarakat untuk tidak menagmbil ikan dan biota sungai lainnya pada rentang waktu tertentu atau 1 tahun. Dilarang menebang pohon pohon besar yang tumbuh di bantaran sungai. Dilarang menyentrum dan meracun ikan pada saat membuka larangan. Penerapan aturan ini memiliki nilai konservasi lingkungan untuk menjaga keseimbangan ekosistem sungai. Terdapat potensi sumber belajar IPA Biologi pada tradisi rantau larangan, yaitu pada konsep pelestarian ekosistem dan pencemaran lingkungan.

Abstract

The quality of the items on the instrument affects the results of the class IX students' school exams. As an evaluator, the teacher has not conducted an analysis of the school exam questions. Therefore, it is not known the quality of the items and the accuracy of the students' test results. This is evidenced by the low results of school exams in the last three years. The Circular of the Minister of Education and Culture regarding the elimination of the National Examination, requires teachers in each Education Unit to make quality questions. Quality questions were identified by analyzing the items. This study aims to analyze the quality of the school exam items given to class IX SMP students. The quality of the items analyzed was based on the aspects of validity, reliability, level of difficulty, distinguishing power and quality of distractors. This type of research is a descriptive study. The population is all answer sheets of students who take the Science Subject School Examination of SMP Negeri 1 Lengayang in the academic year 2020/2021, totaling 232 copies. Samples were taken by simple random sampling technique and obtained 100 copies. The type of data is secondary data and data collection using the documentation method. Quantitative data analysis used Anates version 4.0.9. Based on the results of the analysis, it was found that the validity of the items was low with an xy correlation of 0.48, high reliability with a value of 0.65, good distinguishing power with good criteria of 36.7%, moderate difficulty level with moderate criteria 66.7%, and the quality of the distractor is not good with less good criteria 30.7%. In conclusion, the quality of the grade IX school examination items in science subjects at SMP Negeri 1 Lengayang in the academic year 2020/2021 is not yet a good criterion.

Abstract

The learning process in the classroom currently takes place passively because students only listen to the teacher's explanation without any question and answer interaction, students do not yet have critical thinking skills to develop their potential. Critical thinking skills are high-level thinking skills that need to be developed in schools. These skills need to be trained through the use of learning models that bring students closer to the surrounding environment to get real experiences so as to increase curiosity and explore understanding by applying the Discovery Learning learning model. This study aims to determine whether there is an influence of the Discovery Learning learning model on students' critical thinking skills. The type of research used is the literature review method in which articles are reviewed by tracing articles that are related to the topic of Discovery Learning. The results of the analysis carried out show that the Discovery Learning learning model has an influence on students' critical thinking skills.
