Abstract

This community service (PkM) activity introduced SchoolShare, a web-based knowledge-sharing application for elementary school teachers in partner villages/regions, and evaluated its initial technology acceptance using an extended Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) model with additional Attitude (ATT) and Willingness to Make Payment (WMP) constructs. The first training was held at SDN Rawamangun 05, East Jakarta, and a 23-item, 7-construct UTAUT questionnaire was distributed to 107 teachers after training. At this reporting stage, complete and analyzable data were available for three constructs only: Performance Expectancy (PE, 4 items), Behavioral Intention (BI, 3 items), and Willingness to Maintain/Purchase (WMP, 2 items); results reported here are therefore descriptive. All indicators had a median of 4 on a 1-5 scale. BI obtained the highest construct mean (4.022; SD=0.487), followed by WMP (4.009; SD=0.587) and PE (3.937; SD=0.424). The pattern of BI exceeding PE suggests relatively strong usage intention despite performance-benefit perceptions not yet being fully confirmed, a pattern common at the early piloting stage of technology implementation. Structural model testing (PLS-SEM) of 12 hypotheses (H1-H12) could not yet be conducted because data for the remaining constructs did not meet analysis requirements, and remains the main agenda for the next stage of the program.

Abstract

Elementary school teachers face challenges in developing teaching materials that are engaging and adaptive to students' learning needs, while the use of generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) for this purpose remains limited, particularly in the ability to compose structured prompts. This community service activity focused on improving the competence of teachers at SDN Rawajati 06 Pagi in developing AI-assisted comic-based teaching materials and measuring its impact on student learning outcomes. The activity aimed to improve teachers' understanding of prompt engineering principles for producing contextual instructional comics and to evaluate its effectiveness on student learning outcomes. The methods used included a needs analysis through a pre-training questionnaire, material presentation and demonstration, hands-on practice in composing AI prompts, a post-training questionnaire, and a classroom trial of the resulting comics evaluated through a pretest-posttest design involving 21 students. The results showed significant improvement in teacher competence: the percentage of teachers able to compose structured comic prompts increased from 0% to 55.6%, the use of AI to create comics increased from 11.1% to 57.1%, and all participants (100%) expressed satisfaction with the training. At the student level, the average learning outcome score increased from 7.10 to 8.43, with an N-Gain of 0.50 (moderate category) and a paired t-test showing a significant difference (p < .001). This activity demonstrates that training in AI prompt composition for comic-based teaching materials effectively improves teachers' digital competence and positively impacts student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study investigates the potential of YouTube-based instructional videos to improve students’ statistical reasoning skills in the context of learning Educational Statistics. Statistical reasoning is a fundamental competency in this subject; however, many students face difficulties in grasping and applying statistical concepts due to instruction that is often abstract and overly theoretical. To address this issue, the study was conducted to assess whether integrating YouTube as a learning medium could provide more concrete and accessible explanations, thereby enhancing students’ understanding. The study employed a quasi-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design. Data were collected from undergraduate students enrolled in an Educational Statistics course using two instruments: a procedural knowledge test and a perception questionnaire. The results revealed a statistically significant improvement in students’ statistical reasoning skills after participating in the YouTube-based learning intervention. Additionally, students expressed positive perceptions toward the use of YouTube videos in learning statistics. The highest average ratings were reported in learning effectiveness (M = 98), followed by learning motivation (M = 96), content clarity (M = 92), and ease of access (M = 87). These findings suggest that YouTube can serve as an effective digital learning tool to support conceptual understanding in technical subjects, highlighting the importance of integrating digital media in higher education pedagogy.   Abstrak Penelitian ini mengkaji potensi penggunaan video pembelajaran berbasis YouTube dalam meningkatkan keterampilan penalaran statistik mahasiswa pada mata kuliah Statistika Pendidikan. Penalaran statistik merupakan kompetensi mendasar yang menuntut mahasiswa memahami dan menginterpretasikan data. Namun, banyak mahasiswa mengalami kesulitan akibat penyampaian materi yang cenderung abstrak dan teoretis. Oleh karena itu, dibutuhkan inovasi pembelajaran yang lebih konkret dan mudah diakses. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain kuasi-eksperimen dengan pendekatan one-group pretest-posttest. Partisipan terdiri dari mahasiswa program sarjana yang mengikuti mata kuliah Statistika Pendidikan. Data dikumpulkan melalui dua instrumen, yaitu tes pengetahuan prosedural dan kuesioner persepsi mahasiswa terhadap media pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan yang signifikan secara statistik dalam keterampilan penalaran statistik setelah pembelajaran berbasis YouTube. Selain itu, respons mahasiswa terhadap penggunaan YouTube sangat positif. Nilai rata-rata tertinggi diperoleh pada kategori efektivitas pembelajaran (M = 98), diikuti motivasi belajar (M = 96), kejelasan konten (M = 92), dan kemudahan akses (M = 87). Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa YouTube merupakan media pembelajaran digital yang efektif dalam mendukung pemahaman konseptual mahasiswa, terutama pada mata kuliah yang bersifat teknis. Oleh karena itu, integrasi media digital seperti YouTube perlu dipertimbangkan secara serius dalam pengembangan pedagogi pendidikan tinggi. Abstract

Latar belakang: Peningkatan mutu manajemen operasional dan penerapan higiene serta sanitasi merupakan aspek penting dalam menjamin keamanan pangan dan efisiensi usaha pada UMKM kuliner. Keterbatasan fasilitas penyimpanan bahan baku dan belum optimalnya pemanfaatan under-counter chiller dapat memengaruhi efektivitas pengelolaan bahan pangan dan alur kerja di area produksi. Tujuan: Kegiatan ini bertujuan meningkatkan pengetahuan mitra mengenai higiene dan sanitasi serta mengoptimalkan pemanfaatan under-counter chiller dalam mendukung efisiensi penyimpanan bahan baku dan operasional dapur pada UMKM Pana Roastery. Metode: Program dilaksanakan melalui tahapan persiapan, edukasi manajemen operasional, pelatihan higiene dan sanitasi, serta pendampingan teknis penggunaan dan penataan bahan baku pada under-counter chiller. Evaluasi dilakukan menggunakan desain pre-post untuk mengukur perubahan pengetahuan mitra terkait higiene, sanitasi, dan efisiensi penyimpanan bahan baku. Hasil: Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan peningkatan skor pengetahuan mitra sebesar 31,25 poin atau 21,4% setelah intervensi. Peningkatan pengetahuan tersebut disertai dengan perbaikan penataan penyimpanan bahan baku dan efisiensi alur kerja di area dapur. Kesimpulan: Optimalisasi pemanfaatan under-counter chiller yang disertai edukasi dan pendampingan manajerial dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan higiene dan sanitasi serta mendukung efisiensi operasional UMKM kuliner. Integrasi peningkatan kapasitas sumber daya manusia dengan optimalisasi fasilitas penyimpanan berpotensi memperkuat penerapan keamanan pangan dan profesionalisme pengelolaan usaha. Kata kunci: hygiene, sanitasi, manajemen operasional, UMKM kuliner, under-counter chiller, keamanan pangan __________________________________________________________ Abstract Background: Improving operational management and implementing effective hygiene and sanitation practices are essential for ensuring food safety and operational efficiency in culinary micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs). Inadequate food storage facilities and suboptimal utilization of under-counter chillers may compromise food ingredient management and workflow efficiency in food preparation areas. Objective: This community-based intervention aimed to improve partners’ knowledge of hygiene and sanitation and optimize the use of an under-counter chiller to enhance food storage efficiency and kitchen operations at Pana Roastery, a culinary MSME. Method: The program comprised several stages, including preparation, operational management education, hygiene and sanitation training, and technical assistance in the use and organization of food ingredients within the under-counter chiller. Program effectiveness was evaluated using a pre–post design to assess changes in participants’ knowledge of hygiene, sanitation, and food storage efficiency. Result: The intervention increased participants’ knowledge scores by 31.25 points, equivalent to a 21.4% improvement. This increase was accompanied by improved organization of food ingredients and greater workflow efficiency in the kitchen area. Conclusion: Optimizing the use of an under-counter chiller, combined with targeted education and managerial assistance, can improve knowledge of hygiene and sanitation while supporting operational efficiency in culinary MSMEs. Integrating human resource capacity building with optimization of food storage facilities may strengthen food safety practices and enhance the professionalism of MSME operations.
