Abstract

Self-healing term is widely used by the youth generation lately in the cyber and real world. People comprehend the term as the effort to heal oneself from heart discomfort caused by a failure, pressure, anxiety, disappointment, insecurity, et cetera, and the effort to seek inner serenity and tranquility. However, unfortunately, some people choose to do self-healing in the wrong and deviant way. Therefore, this research aims to straighten up and reveal the self-healing concept in the Quran by analyzing the words Sakana and Ithma'anna and their derivation embodying the meaning of tranquility. This study is library research by implementing a semantic approach. The applied data collection method was documentation using primary and secondary data, i.e., the Quran, Al-Misbah, Al-Qurthubi, and Ibn Kathir exegesis. This research result indicates that Allah sends down tranquility for those with mental readiness and decorates themselves with commendable qualities. This research also conveys several deeds that can be done as self-healing, which in reality is contrary to the habits of today's younger generation. Eventually, the serenity that all man desires is eternal tranquility, which is included in the group of people who are called upon by Allah and addressed by 'O tranquil soul' when he dies and on the Day of Resurrection.

Abstract

This article attempts to investigate the influence of ideology concept in Quran translations in Indonesia. The extent to which the ideology can influence the translators’ style and choice of words that will shape the receivers’ worldviews. In the lead up to Indonesian independence, when young Muslim intellectuals began to be moved to understand their religion well, so as not to be regarded as an underdeveloped religion, two translations appear: De Heilige Qoer-an by Maulana Muhamamad Ali and Tafsir Quran Karim by Mahmud Yunus. The two translations have similarities in the writing of a modern style. Both also attempt to translate the Quran in line with the development of science, and assume there is no dispute between revelation and creation, so the works are favored by Indonesian Muslim intellectuals. However, although they have the same concept of translation, many verses are translated differently, especially the verses about the miracles of the prophets and the privileges of Isa (as). The differences are noticeable; this is much related to the ideology background of the two translators. De Heilige Qoer-an brings Ahmadiyya ideology while Tafsir Quran Karim holds to the opinion of the prominentscholars, including the scholars of Indonesia.

Abstract

Pronunciation therapy for deaf students is a very important context within the sphere of the Quran learning. Previous investigations in this domain predominantly focused on media and visual approaches, neglecting the discussion of Arabic letter pronunciation therapy (phonetically). Therefore, this research aimed to elucidate various forms of pronunciation therapy designed for deaf students and the underlying factors motivating the use of the therapeutic techniques. This descriptive qualitative research relied on the primary data collected through an investigation conducted at Qotrunnada Islamic Special School (SLB) in Bantul, Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The primary data comprised the diverse methods applied in Arabic letter pronunciation therapy and the determinant factors of articulation disorders. The research subjects were limited to pure deaf students, categorized by age and the length of therapy. Each student exhibited different results of assessment and response to pronunciation therapy. Moreover, data validation was performed through interaction with the school principal as the research team. The results showed that the forms of pronunciation therapy included articulation therapy (phonetically) exercises addressing sound production, as well as interventions targeting attention and behavior for deaf students in coping with Arabic letter difficulties. This contribution would serve as a basic guide in the development of instruments for Arabic letter pronunciation therapy designed for students with special needs.
