Abstract

Meja dandori merupakan meja kerja yang dirancang untuk persiapan efisien dalam proses industri, khususnya untuk mempermudah loading dies pada mesin press, sehingga rangkanya harus mampu menahan beban besar dengan aman. Dalam penelitian ini, dilakukan analisis kekuatan struktur rangka meja dandori menggunakan metode Finite Element Analysis (FEA) untuk mengevaluasi ketahanan terhadap pembebanan statis sebesar 10.000 N, 15.000 N, dan 20.000 N. Model tiga dimensi rangka meja dandori dibuat menggunakan perangkat lunak Computer-Aided Design (CAD) dan dianalisis menggunakan perangkat lunak FEA dengan menggunakan dua jenis material, yaitu baja karbon menengah S45C dan baja struktural SS400. Evaluasi dilakukan terhadap parameter tegangan maksimum berdasarkan kriteria von mises, total deformasi, dan faktor keamanan (safety factor). Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa pada beban maksimal 20.000 N, baik material S45C maupun SS400 menghasilkan tegangan sebesar 14,29 MPa dan deformasi sebesar 0,032 mm, dengan faktor keamanan mencapai nilai 3, yang tergolong sangat aman untuk aplikasi industri. Meskipun kedua material memenuhi standar keamanan, material S45C memiliki keunggulan dalam kekuatan tarik yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan SS400, sehingga lebih direkomendasikan untuk aplikasi dengan potensi beban berat atau kebutuhan margin keselamatan tambahan. Disarankan untuk menggunakan material S45C untuk meningkatkan ketahanan jangka panjang, mengoptimalkan desain rangka agar lebih efisien, serta melakukan analisis berkala untuk memastikan kelayakan struktur selama masa penggunaan.

Abstract

This internship report aims to examine the machining processes involved in the production of an oil palm fiber shredder machine at PT. Raja Ampat Indotim. The background of this study stems from the issue of oil palm fiber waste, which remains underutilized despite its economic potential. The internship focused on observing the step-by-step production process, including the use of milling, turning, bending, drilling, grinding, welding, and finishing operations. The study employed a qualitative approach through direct observation, interviews with machine operators, and documentation of production stages. The results indicate that the machine was successfully assembled over a span of 14 working days, with a shredding capacity of 300–500 kg/hour powered by an 80 HP diesel engine. This study provides insights into the integration of manufacturing techniques within the agricultural machinery industry and highlights the importance of efficient production in supporting sustainable management of agricultural waste.

Abstract

Knuckle arm merupakan salah satu komponen penting pada sistem suspensi kendaraan yang berfungsi sebagai penghubung antara sistem kemudi, suspensi, dan roda. Dalam konteks kendaraan listrik, efisiensi struktural dan ketahanan terhadap beban menjadi hal krusial untuk menjamin performa dan keselamatan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis respons mekanis knuckle arm terhadap variasi beban statik menggunakan pendekatan simulasi berbasis metode elemen hingga (Finite Element Method/FEM). Proses pemodelan geometri dilakukan menggunakan perangkat lunak SolidWorks, sedangkan simulasi dan analisis struktural dilakukan dengan variasi pembebanan sebesar 500 N, 800 N, dan 1000 N. Material yang digunakan adalah Aluminium 6061-T6 dengan tegangan luluh sebesar 275.000.000 N/m². Parameter yang dianalisis meliputi tegangan von mises, deformasi total (displacement), dan faktor keamanan (safety factor). Hasil simulasi menunjukkan bahwa seluruh nilai tegangan maksimum berada jauh di bawah tegangan luluh material, dengan nilai tegangan tertinggi sebesar 4.408.601 N/m² pada beban 1000 N. Deformasi maksimum yang terjadi adalah 0,004 mm, dan nilai safety factor konstan sebesar 3,000. Sehingga diketahui desain knuckle arm yang dianalisis memiliki ketahanan struktural yang baik dan aman digunakan dalam rentang beban statik tersebut. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi dasar pengembangan desain komponen kendaraan listrik yang lebih efisien dan andal secara struktural.

Abstract

The advancement of the manufacturing industry demands the use of precise, efficient, and highly competitive cutting technology, one of which is CNC Laser Cutting. This study aims to analyze the influence of cutting parameters, such as cutting speed, laser power, focus distance (focusline), nozzle distance, and gas pressure, on the cutting quality of sheet metal made of SUS 304 and Aluminum. The research method includes direct experiments at PT. XYZ with variations in CNC laser machine parameters to evaluate surface roughness, dimensional accuracy, and edge quality of the cut. The results indicate that a higher cutting speed and optimal laser focus improve precision and cutting cleanliness. Nitrogen gas is more effective for cutting SUS 304 and Aluminum compared to other gases. The proper selection of the nozzle also plays a role in maintaining gas flow stability and preventing cutting defects. Additionally, the interaction between cutting speed and laser power significantly impacts the final result. The study concludes that an optimal combination of parameters produces cleaner, more precise, and more efficient cuts, thereby enhancing quality and productivity in the sheet metal industry. Therefore, selecting the appropriate parameters is crucial to achieving the best cutting results and minimizing production defects.

Abstract

The Furnace Chikka machine at PT. Xx plays a crucial role in the company’s production and operations. As one of the main tools used in material processing, this machine must function optimally to maintain production flow. However, over time, various potential failures can occur in the furnace system, which can affect its performance and efficiency. Therefore, an analysis is conducted to identify the risks that may arise and propose appropriate solutions. The method used in this study is Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA), aimed at identifying potential failure modes in the furnace machine, assessing their impact, and calculating the level of risk that could arise. Data collection is carried out through field observations, discussions with technicians, and literature review. The risk assessment utilizes three main parameters: Severity, Occurrence, and Detection, which are calculated to determine the Risk Priority Number (RPN). The results of this study provide recommendations for maintenance and early detection to minimize further damage.

Abstract

Karangtanjung Village in Karawang Regency produces a substantial amount of rice husk waste, yet its utilization remains limited, with most of it being disposed of through open burning. This Community Service Program aims to enhance the skills of the Sukamanah II Farmers Group in converting rice husk waste into charcoal briquettes through technical training and the implementation of appropriate technology. The effectiveness of the program was evaluated using pre-test and post-test instruments to assess participants’ knowledge improvement. The results indicate an increase of 27–35% in average scores after the training sessions. The effectiveness analysis using the Normalized Gain (N-Gain) method shows that most participants achieved moderate to high improvement, with N-Gain values ranging from 0.33 to 1.00. Approximately 30–40% of participants reached the high-effectiveness category (N-Gain > 0.7), while the rest fell into the moderate category. These findings confirm that the combination of theoretical introduction, demonstration, and hands-on practice is effective in improving participants’ technical understanding of briquette production. Beyond cognitive improvement, the program also produced tangible outputs, including a briquette press machine and standardized production SOP modules. Early impacts include reduced open burning, increased productivity in biomass utilization, and emerging initiatives to establish a village-level briquette business unit. Overall, this program contributes to strengthening circular economy practices and promoting green energy innovation based on agricultural waste.

Abstract

Pelapisan menjadi bagian akhir dari proses produksi dari suatu produk dengan melakukan pemberian sifat tertentu pada suatu permukaan benda kerja dengan mengharapkan benda tersebut akan mengalami perbaikan terhadap sifat fisiknya mencapai bentuk setelah 6 proses pengerjaan mesin serta penghalusan terhadap permukaan benda kerja. Nikel terdapat besi dan kobalt yang sering digunakan untuk tujuan pencegahan karat dan menambah keindahan.Tujuan penelitian ini mencari pengujian sem, pengujian korosi, pengujian ketebalan dan pengujian kekerasar dari Pelapisan Baja Karbon JIS S50C dengan metode electroplating nikel dan krom dilakukan di Laboratorium Teknik Mesin Universitas Sigaperbangsa Karawang, sedangkan pengujian serta analisa hasil eksperimen material di Balai Besar Bahan dan Barang Teknik (B4T) Bandung dan pusat Penelitian Fisika di LIPI Serang. Penelitian ini menggunakan alat electroplating dan komponen bak penampung elektrolit, power supply, penjepit anoda dan katoda, heater, aerator, gerinda listrik, alat pengujur kekerasan vickers, Salt Spray Chamber dan mikrosop optik.
