Abstract

Wearable Internet of Things (IoT) devices for pregnant women have emerged as a significant innovation in healthcare. This technology enables real-time monitoring of maternal and fetal health, providing data that facilitates faster and more accurate medical decision-making. This article presents a literature review on the development and implementation of wearable IoT for pregnant women and its impact on healthcare services. The study identifies various types of wearable devices, monitored health parameters, and the technical and ethical challenges associated with their use. The findings reveal that wearable IoT can enhance healthcare quality through early detection of pregnancy complications, improved efficiency of medical personnel, and reduced healthcare costs. However, issues such as data privacy, device sustainability, and technological disparities remain major challenges that require further attention. This review provides valuable insights for technology developers, healthcare providers, and researchers to maximize the potential of wearable IoT in supporting maternal health holistically.

Abstract

Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) is a learning approach that focuses on students' ability levels, not on their grade levels. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the TaRL approach in improving the reading and writing skills of grade I students at SD Unggulan Aisyiyah Bantul. The research method used was classroom action research (PTK) with two cycles, which included planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data were collected through reading and writing skill tests, classroom observations, and interviews with teachers and students. The results showed that the application of TaRL significantly improved students' reading and writing skills. In the first cycle, there was an increase in understanding letters and syllables, while in the second cycle, most students were able to read and write simple words and sentences more fluently. In addition, students became more confident and motivated in learning as the approach provided developmentally appropriate learning. The findings indicate that the TaRL approach can be an effective strategy for addressing the gap in reading and writing skills at the primary school level. Practically, the results of this study provide recommendations for educators to implement more adaptive and needs-based learning to improve literacy quality. In addition, this approach can also be used as a model in developing education policies that are more inclusive and oriented towards the gradual achievement of basic competencies.

Abstract

Waste management is a pressing environmental issue, especially in developing countries like Indonesia. The increasing waste volume from slaughterhouses, including organic waste (blood, rumen contents, manure) and inorganic waste (plastic, metal), poses serious environmental threats if not properly managed. This study aims to improve community knowledge and skills in four key waste management aspects: (1) waste segregation for efficient processing, (2) maggot cultivation as an innovative organic waste solution, (3) rumen waste processing into biogas and organic fertilizer, and (4) sustainable waste residue management. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through observation, interviews, and questionnaires. Results show that proper waste management minimizes pollution and enhances economic value through circular economy principles. Additionally, maggot cultivation reduces organic waste while generating income, and biogas production lowers energy costs. Government support and community participation are essential for sustainability. Effective slaughterhouse waste management benefits the environment while creating economic opportunities, ensuring long-term sustainability, better resource efficiency, and improved public health.

Abstract

Punthuk Setumbu is a natural beauty located in Karangrejo Village, Borobudur, Magelang Regency. The popularity of Punthuk Setumbu has surged following its use in the film Ada Apa Dengan Cinta 2, establishing it as a frequently visited tourist destination. The significant potential of Punthuk Setumbu necessitates effective management to enhance its tourist appeal while preserving its natural integrity. This community service program seeks to elevate the knowledge and abilities of partners in the following area such as: concept and functionality of photobooths, creation and implementation of the photobooth. The solutions provided by this community service encompass the dissemination of the design assistance, and photobooth deployment. The activities will be conducted via training employing lectures and practical exercises for the partners. The program includes phases of socialization, workshops, and activity monitoring. These training garnered favorable evaluations, with all aspect are increase for photo booth training. The implementation of the activities will occur between October 2024 and January 2025. The evaluation results demonstrate an enhancement in participants' knowledge regarding photo booth and film-induced tourism. This training aims to enhance Punthuk Setumbu's appeal to tourists and elevate regions income

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology requires teachers to improve their competence in effectively integrating technology into the learning process on an ongoing basis. Pedagogical and professional competence are essential in ensuring that teachers can adapt to technological changes and create meaningful and engaging learning experiences. However, many educators face challenges in optimally utilizing digital tools, so it is important to examine the relationship between their competence and the integration of digital technology. This study aims to analyze the impact of teachers' pedagogical and professional competencies on the integration of digital technology into tlearning. Using an ex-post facto quantitative research design, this study was conducted at SD Muhammadiyah Karangkajen Yogyakarta, involving 39 teachers selected through non-probability sampling, so the results have limitations in external validity and generalizability. The findings should be interpreted with caution. The research results show a significant correlation between pedagogical competencies and digital technology integration (r = 0.655, p < 0.05) as well as between professional competencies and digital technology integration (r = 0.747, p < 0.05), confirming the influence of both competencies. These findings highlight the importance of continuous professional development to strengthen teachers' ability to integrate digital tools into their teaching. This study suggests that developing pedagogical and professional competencies is essential to maximize the potential of digital technology education, which ultimately enhances students' learning experiences.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the learning style preferences of elementary school students in 5 districts in Yogyakarta. The population is 4th-grade and 5th-grade elementary school students in 5 districts in Yogyakarta. The sample was 992 students. Data was collected with a survey by questionnaire of learning style preferences. The results showed that the majority of elementary students have visual-kinesthetic (25.06%), the majority of students in Sleman district have kinesthetic (33.33%), the majority of students in Bantul district have visual-kinesthetic (31.93%), the majority of students in Gunungkidul district have the kinesthetic (27.45%), and the majority of students in Kulonprogo district have the visual-kinesthetic (29.36%). The elementary school students in Yogyakarta Province have more than one preference, a combination of two learning styles: visual-kinesthetic and auditory-kinesthetic. It can be concluded that the majority of students in Yogyakarta tend towards two learning styles, i.e., visual and kinesthetic.

Abstract

Salah satu faktor yang memiliki pengaruh sangat besar terhadap pembangunan ekonomi di masyarakat adalah kemampuan yang dimiliki oleh Sumber Daya Manusia (SDM). Tujuan dari pengabdian ini adalah  untuk meningkatkan kemampuan masyarakat yang berfokus pada konteks pembangunan ekonomi, kualitas SDM yang sangat perlu untuk terus ditingkatkan, diantaranya dapat dilakukan dengan memperkuat pema-haman terkait dengan literasi finansial. Deswitadaya merupakan suatu program dari Unit Kegiatan Usaha Kecil Menengah yang dibentuk oleh masyarakat Padukuhan Gamol, Desa Balecatur, Kabupaten Sleman, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta dalam rangka meningkatkan kreatifitas dan keterampilan masyarakat sekitar dalam memanfaatkan sumber daya alam yang ada. Selaras dengan hal tersebut, dalam artikel ini akan dibahas mengenai proses pembentukan taman literasi pojok baca untuk meningkatkan kualitas literasi Masyarakat. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini adalah sebagai berikut; (1) sosialisasi; (2) pendampingan; (3) gelar produk; (4) monitoring dan evaluasi. Hasil kegiatan ini dapat meningkatkan keterampilan dan perekonomian warga, dimana setelah melaksanakan Deswitadaya produk hasil usaha yang ada dapat di distribusikan di berbagai segmen pasar yang ada di Yogyakarta baik secara offline maupun online dengan tingkat keberhasilan 90%.   Community empowerment in Gamol hamlet through the application of financial literacy as a form of implementation of village SDGs   Abstract: One factor that has a huge influence on economic development in society is the capabilities of Human Resources (HR). The aim of this service is to improve community capabilities that focus on the context of economic development and the quality of human resources, which really needs to continue to be improved, which can be done by strengthening understanding related to financial literacy. Deswitadaya is a program from the Small and Medium Enterprise Activity Unit, which was formed by the Padukuhan Gamol community, Balecatur Village, Sleman Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta in order to increase the creativity and skills of the surrounding community in utilizing existing natural resources. In line with this, this article will discuss the process of establishing a reading corner literacy park to improve the quality of community literacy. The method used in this activity is as follows: (1) socialization, (2) mentoring, (3) product title, and (4) monitoring and evaluation. The results of this activity can improve the skills and economy of residents, where after implementing Deswitadaya, existing business products can be distributed in various market segments in Yogyakarta, both offline and online, with a success rate of 90%.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan (1) untuk mendeskripsikan peran guru dalam menumbuhkan literasi dan minat baca siswa, (2) mengetahui faktor pendukung dalam menumbuhkan literasi minat baca siswa, (3) mengetahui faktor penghambat dalam menumbuhkan literasi dan minat baca siswa. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SD Muhammadiyah Kadisoka sejak bulan Desember 2022 hingga Agustus 2023 dengan sampel penelitian kelas III yang berjumlah 6 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan ialah observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil dari penelitian ini diperoleh bahwa (1) peran guru dalam menumbuhkan minat membaca siswa di SD Muhammadiyah Kadisoka dilakukan melalui pendampingan terhadap peserta didik selama 15 menit untuk kegiatan literasi sekolah di kelas masing-masing. Hal tersebut dilaksanakan untuk meningkatkan minat membaca siswa melalui kegiatan literasi. (2) Faktor Pendukung dalam menumbuhkan minat baca siswa yaitu guru sudah mengajak siswa untuk membaca, siswa bersifat kooperatif dalam pelaksanaan literasi, siswa mempunyai dorongan yang kuat dari guru. (3) faktor penghambat dalam menumbuhkan literasi yaitu siswa tidak meluangkan waktu untuk membaca, siswa hanya membaca atas perintah guru dan siswa jarang mengunjungi perpustakaan. Keterbaruan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui bagaimana peran guru SD Muhammadiyah Kadisoka dalam menumbuhkan minat baca siswa, terutama di kelas III. Penelitian ini menggunakan sampel yaitu siswa dengan prestasi yang paling unggul dan kurang. Dengan begitu dapat diketahui gap antara minat baca dari siswa yang mempunyai prestasi unggul dan kurang.   The role of teachers in fostering literacy and reading interest among elementary school students   Abstract: This study aims to (1) describe the role of teachers in fostering students' literacy and reading interest, (2) knowing the supporting factors in growing students' reading interest literacy, (3) knowing the inhibiting factors in growing students' literacy and reading interest. The type of research used in this research is qualitative with a case study method. This research was conducted at SD Muhammadiyah Kadisoka from December 2022 to August 2023 with a class III research sample of 6 students. The data collection techniques used are observation, interviews and documentation. The data analysis techniques used are data collection, data reduction, data presentation and conclusions. The results of this study obtained that (1) the role of teachers in fostering students' interest in reading at SD Muhammadiyah Kadisoka is carried out through mentoring students for 15 minutes for school literacy activities in their respective classes. This is carried out to increase students' interest in reading through literacy activities. (2) Supporting factors in fostering students' interest in reading are that the teacher has invited students to read, students are cooperative in implementing literacy, students have strong encouragement from the teacher. (3) Inhibiting factors in cultivating literacy are that students do not take time to read, students only read at the teacher's command and students rarely visit the library. The novelty of this research is to find out the role of Muhammadiyah Kadisoka Elementary School teachers in fostering students' interest in reading, especially in class III. This study uses a sample of students with the most superior and lowest achievement. That way we can know the gap between the reading interest of students who have superior and less achievement.
