Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of digital learning media on students' motivation by analyzing findings from various credible journal articles. As technology advances, digital tools have become a crucial component of modern education. The research employs a systematic literature review method, synthesizing empirical evidence from recent educational journals. The results indicate that digital learning media—such as e-learning platforms, educational videos, interactive applications, and digital simulations—significantly enhance students' motivation by providing dynamic, engaging, and accessible learning experiences. However, its effectiveness depends on factors like teachers' technological proficiency, infrastructure availability, and students' readiness for digital-based learning. The study concludes that while digital learning media holds great potential in boosting motivation, its successful implementation requires appropriate teaching strategies and adequate support systems.

Abstract

International trade is trade carried out by residents of a country with residents of other countries on the basis of a mutual agreement. One of the things that determines a country's economic growth is international trade which includes export-import activities. One advantage of international trade is that it allows a country to specialize in producing goods and services at low prices. This study aims to determine the effect of international trade on Indonesia's economic growth. The research method used to solve this problem is a quantitative method using multiple regression analysis and the classic assumption test from secondary data sourced from North Sumatra Economic Data (2001-2020). The results of this study are 1. Partially, imports have a significant positive effect on growth. Economics with the acquisition of a Prob. value of 0.0002 < apha 0.05 so that ha is fulfilled or ho is rejected and for the positive direction it is proven by the Coeffcient which is negative (1.216780). 2. Partially, exports have a negative but not significant effect on economic growth due to the acquisition of a Prob.0.2268> alpha 0.05 value so that ho is fulfilled or ha is rejected and for a negative direction it is proven by a negative Coefficient. (-0.448407) 3. Simultaneously Export and Import have a significant effect on Economic Growth with the acquisition of a Prob (F-Statistic) value of 0.00000 <0.05 meaning that the two variables significantly influence Economic Growth so that ha is fulfilled or ho is rejected 4. The Adjusted R-Square is 0.89, which means that much the two independent variables affect the dependent variable, namely GRDP, which means that there are still other models that affect the dependent variable.

Abstract

The curriculum applied in the Bachelor of Economics Education study program at Medan State University uses the concept of Independent Learning with an output-oriented approach or Outcome-Based Education (OBE). In this output-based approach, results in the form of knowledge and skills must be measurable concretely. To achieve optimal measurement results, it is necessary to apply a project-based learning model that is in accordance with OBE principles in the study program. This OBE-based PJBL model is expected to be able to improve students' abilities as reflected in the achievement of their learning outcomes. This research uses research and development (R&D) methods, with a development model adapted from the ADDIE model. Based on the research results, 96.7% of students got an A grade, while 3.3% got an E grade. This shows that the PjBL model is very effective in improving student learning outcomes, especially in Creative Economy courses.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bagaimana pengaruh penggunaan media pembelajan materi pasar terhadap peningkatan hasil belajarar Ilmu Pengetshusn Sosia (IPS). Metode yan diguanakan adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan analisis regresi sederhana, melibatkan 30siswa di kelas XI IPS di SMA Negeri 12 Medan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media pembbelajaran berbasis teknologi, seperti simulasi pasar digital, memiliki pengaruh significant terhadap hasil belajar siswa, dengan nilai t hitung sebesar 10,458 dan signifikansi 0,000. Koifisien determinasi R2 sebesar 0,789 mengindikasikan bahwa 78,9 % variasi dalam hasil belajar dapat dijelaskan oleh pengguna media pembelajaran. Penelitian ini sejalan juga dengan penelitian sebelumnya yang menunjukkan bahwa media interaktif dapat meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa.

Abstract

This research aims to describe how students at the Faculty of Economics, Medan State University (FE UNIMED), build human capital and integrate it with digital literacy as a form of educational investment benefit. Using a descriptive qualitative approach with interviews, observations, and documentation, the study found that mid-to-late semester students experienced increased competency thru KKNI-based tasks that required the application of theory, analysis, and collaborative work. Students' digital literacy is also developing, encompassing technical skills, information evaluation, and the ethical use of technology. The integration of both provides academic, social, and economic benefits, including increased self-confidence, internship opportunities, and digital entrepreneurship activities. This research concludes that education at FE UNIMED serves as a long-term investment that strengthens students' competitiveness in the digital economy era.

Abstract

Educators can create innovative teaching materials by utilizing engaging information technology that can be carried and read anytime and anywhere. Moreover, students are now synonymous with the gadgets (smartphones) they often carry. In addition to innovative teaching materials based on information technology, teaching materials that can provide students with a more comprehensive understanding are also needed. 21st-century learning focuses on technology integration and the development of essential skills such as critical thinking, creativity, communication, and collaboration (4Cs), as well as contextual and problem-oriented learning. Developing 21st-century skills plays a vital role in preparing students to face the complex challenges of the modern era. Education is expected to produce individuals who not only excel academically but also possess the ability to adapt, think critically, solve problems, and innovate. This study aims to develop an e-module based on a learning model that integrates 21st-century skills in economics learning, with a high level of validity, practicality, and effectiveness. This research is a research and development (R&D) that adapts the five stages in the ADDIE model, namely analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The implementation of the development research includes (a) defining problems and needs analysis; (b) planning product design and (c) Implementation and evaluation of the e-module learning model based on 21st-century skills. The subjects in this study were sixth-semester students from the Economics Education study program. This study employed data analysis techniques that included validity, practicality, and effectiveness tests. The e-module validation process was conducted by two validator experts: a material expert and a design expert. Based on the research results, the feasibility test obtained a very feasible category, while the practicality test, based on responses from the lecturer team (colleagues) and students, showed a very practical category. The effectiveness test results indicated that the implementation of the e-module with a 21st-century skills-based learning model was effective.

Abstract

Low student learning motivation in economics subjects, particularly on payment systems and means of payment, remains a problem in senior high school learning. Therefore, digital learning media that can present material visually and interactively are needed. This study aims to analyze the effect of Canva-based learning media on students’ learning motivation and to provide empirical evidence regarding the integration of creative digital platforms in economics learning. This research employed a quantitative approach with an exploratory research design. The research sample consisted of 61 students who participated in learning activities using Canva-based media. Data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire that had been tested for validity using Product Moment correlation and for reliability using Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient. Data analysis was conducted through classical assumption tests and simple linear regression analysis. The results show that Canva-based learning media have a positive and significant effect on students’ learning motivation. The correlation value R = 0.802 indicates a very strong relationship, while the coefficient of determination R² = 0.643 shows that 64.3% of the variance in learning motivation is explained by the use of Canva media. The regression coefficient β = 0.752; sig. 0.000 confirms increased student motivation, while 35.7% is influenced by factors outside Canva media.

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the impact of implementing a Canva-based learning tool on students' understanding of Management Concepts. The research stemmed from the problem of low student understanding, caused by traditional teaching methods that lack diversity and underutilize visual elements. This study employed a quantitative method through an explanatory research approach. The sample size reached 50 students, selected using a purposive sampling technique. The data collection tool was a Likert-scale questionnaire, which was verified for its validity and reliability. Data analysis involved checking for validity, reliability, normality, linearity, and simple linear regression. The main findings showed that the use of Canva had a positive and significant impact on student understanding. The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.668 indicated that Canva contributed approximately 66.8% to the increase in understanding, with the remainder influenced by other factors. These results reinforce the idea that Canva can help students digest abstract management concepts through more engaging, organized, and easily digestible visualizations. Ultimately, this study recommends that Canva be used as an alternative teaching medium in courses requiring conceptual understanding.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to determine and analyze the effect of exports and investment on economic growth in North Sumatra Province. Methods: This research uses secondary data obtained from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) of North Sumatra Province for the 2001–2020 period. The analysis examines the relationship between exports and investment as independent variables and economic growth as the dependent variable, measured by Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP). Results: The results show that exports have a positive and significant effect on economic growth in North Sumatra Province. Investment also has a positive and significant effect on economic growth. Simultaneously, exports and investment significantly influence economic growth. The findings further indicate that exports and investment contribute 94% to economic growth in the province. Conclusion: Exports and investment play an important role in supporting economic growth in North Sumatra Province. Increasing export performance and investment levels can significantly enhance regional economic development. Originality/value: This study provides empirical evidence of the strong contribution of exports and investment to economic growth in North Sumatra Province using a 20-year observation period, highlighting their dominant role in regional economic development.
