Abstract

Abstract

This study develops teaching materials for writing fantasy texts based on Book Creator using the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model to enhance the creativity and writing skills of seventh-grade junior high school students. This research employs the Research and Development (R&D) method, encompassing needs analysis, product development, expert validation, small-scale trials, and large-scale trials. Validation results indicate that the teaching materials are highly feasible, with an average score of 86.2 based on expert and student assessments. Moreover, these materials effectively improve students’ writing skills, with a 75% increase in the experimental class compared to 38% in the control class. The strength of these teaching materials lies in the interactive features of Book Creator, which enable students to develop fantasy stories using text, images, and other multimedia elements. The implementation of the PBL model also helps students understand story structures while enhancing critical and creative thinking skills. Thus, this study concludes that Book Creator-based teaching materials with the PBL model are more effective than conventional methods in improving students’ writing skills and creativity. These findings are expected to serve as a reference for teachers in developing technology-based learning innovations in the digital era

Abstract

The concept of mahabbah (divine love) is one of the pinnacles of achievement in the Sufism tradition that marks the existential closeness between man and God. In the context of prophetic literature, this concept is not only present as an individual spiritual experience, but also undergoes a transformation into a communicative aesthetic and ethical discourse. This study aims to examine the transformation of the concept of mahabbah in Kuntowijoyo's poems by placing them in a prophetic literary framework that emphasizes the dimensions of transcendence, humanization, and liberation. The method used is literary hermeneutics with an interpretive approach to uncover the layers of symbolic meaning in the text. The data is in the form of selected poems that represent the themes of spirituality, Divine love, and human relationship with God. The results of the study show that the concept of mahabbah in Kuntowijoyo's poems undergoes a transformation from the concept of classical Sufism which is esoteric in nature to a more contextual and communicative symbolic expression. This transformation is seen through the use of symbols of love, longing, sincerity, and sacrifice that represent not only man's vertical relationship with God, but also a horizontal relationship with fellow humans. Thus, mahabbah in prophetic literature does not stop at the mystical dimension, but moves towards social praxisis oriented towards human values. This research confirms that poetry functions as a dialectical medium between spiritual experience and social reality, as well as a means of transforming transcendental values into concrete life.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop teaching materials based on Problem Based Learning (PBL) assisted by Canva media for teaching biography writing to tenth-grade vocational high school students and to examine their validity, practicality, and effectiveness. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, which consists of five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The participants were 30 tenth-grade vocational high school students. Data were collected through observation, interviews, expert validation questionnaires, student response questionnaires, biography-writing tests, and documentation. The data were analyzed using descriptive quantitative and qualitative techniques. The results revealed that the developed teaching materials achieved a validity score of 95%, categorized as highly valid based on evaluations by subject-matter and media experts. The practicality level reached 94%, categorized as highly practical according to students’ responses. Furthermore, the effectiveness test demonstrated an improvement in students’ biography-writing skills, as indicated by the increase in the average score from 63.47 in the pretest to 84.73 in the posttest. The Normalized Gain (N-Gain) score of 0.58 was categorized as moderate. These findings indicate that the Canva-assisted PBL teaching materials are valid, practical, and effective for use in biography-writing instruction for vocational high school students. The study contributes to innovations in Indonesian language teaching by integrating problem-based learning with digital technology to enhance students’ writing skills.
