Abstract

The rapid development of infrastructure in Riau Province has an impact on increasing land needs, especially in coastal areas which are dominated by soft soils. Soft soil will experience a large settlement if it is given a construction load for a long time. This is caused by the discharge of pore water in the soil causing damage to the construction structure. The preloading method on soft soil with vertical drain system is one of the most popular methods used to increase the shear strength of soft soil and control the settlement that occurs after construction. The permeability rate of soft soil is very low so that the time for consolidation to achieve the optimum shear strength will take more time. Generally, consolidation occurs only in the vertical direction, whereas in this study horizontal consolidation is obtained by modifying the consolidation test, namely by using a membrane to limit the movement of pore water when compressed by loading so that the water moves radially towards the vertical hole that filled with sand. This study aims to analyze the relationship between the vertical consolidation coefficient and the horizontal consolidation coefficient on the physical properties of the soil through laboratory tests. Soil samples used in this study were taken in undisturbed conditions. The results of this study obtained differences in the decline that occurred in various types of soil from the coastal areas of Riau Province. The largest land subsidence for vertical consolidation and horizontal consolidation is on the Pakning River. Based on the results of testing that has been done, the correlation coefficient cv and coefficient ch, is obtained by means of linear regression. Correlation of coefficient cv and coefficient ch obtained empirical correlation value in an equation ch = 11.088cv + 0.0005. Abstract

Gradation and grain shape of sand are some of the factors that influence the shear strength of sand. This needs to be considered, so that the effect can be maximized for construction related to sand. The purpose of this research is to find out how to analyzethe shape of the sand grains and analyze the behavior of the angle of friction (ϕ) due to the influence of the grading and shape of the grains. The test is carried out by dividingthe gradation, which consists of three variations with a relative density of 70%. Gradation 1 is dominated by medium granules as much a 100%, gradation 2 is dominated by coarse granules as much a 60%, and gradation 3 is dominated by finegranules as much a 60%. The shape of the sand grains is divided into two forms, namely the group of angular and rounded grains, which are distinguished based on themorphological parameters of the granules namely roundness (R), sphericity (S) and regularity (ρ). The morphological parameters of the granules are analyzed usingimageJ. The results showed that the analysis of grains shape of sand using imageJ, obtained levels of grain shape from the two sands, namely sub-angular and subrounded.The effect of gradation on angle of friction (ϕ) is gradation dominated bycoarse grains of 60%, namely gradation variation 2, and which has a long grain distribution, namely gradation variation 3 has a higher angle of friction (ϕ) compared to gradation variation 1. Comparison of the angle of friction (ϕ) between the grainshape of sand, that is sand with a sub-angular shape has a higher the angle of friction (ϕ) compared to sand with a sub-rounded shape.Keywords: Sand, gradation, particle shape, imageJ, roundness (R), sphericity (S), regularity (ρ), angle of friction (ϕ).

Abstract

Vertical drain is soil improvement method that aims to reduce the pore water pressure in soft ground so as to accelerate the consolidation process and time reduction in water-saturated soft soil. Tools vetikal precast drainage installation (Prefabricated Vertical Drain, PVD) is called a mandrel with a diameter of 60 to 70 cm2. Installation PVD candisturb the arrangement of soil around the walls of the mandrel, there by reducing the permeability of the soil that can slow down the process of consolidation. This study analyzes the disturb smear zone permebilityof consolidation settlement.This research showed the influence of smearzone permeability (kh/ks) very influence of consolidation settlement. Abstract

Completion of the transportation problems in the city of Pekanbaru currently only looked at in terms of congestion, but not touching insights from environmental aspects such as performance air pollution and noise levels. This research was conducted at the observation point road ahead Repair Tambusai lord Eastern Daihatshu, road Tuanku Tambusai West Side Mall SKA, North Soekarno Hatta street front retail outlets, street front Soekarno Hatta South Hotel Ibis Pekanbaru. V / C Ratio highest in the afternoon rush hour on the road ahead Tambusai lord Stations Daihatsu ie 0.86 pelyanan road performance E. Quality Standard ambient NOx emissions do not exceed the threshold of ambient quality standards, the NOx emission = 281.76 mg/m3. Quality Standard ambient CO emissions do not exceed the threshold of ambient quality standards, namely emission = 7456.79 mg/m3, the noise level over the limit of noise that is 71.41 dB (A). To balance the load reduction in pollutant emissions and noise levels at the flyover plan with the plan of special bus lane traffic volume assumptions have to move 25% of the transfer of the road users of private vehicles and motorbikes switch to using mass public transport vehicles ie Trans Metro bus Pekanbaru.

Abstract

Installation of helical pile foundations in different formations and distances will provide different bearing capacities in peat soils. For this reason, a correction value to the bearing capacity of the pile group is required, which is stated with efficiency. This paper aims to analyze the bearing capacity of the helical pile group configuration 2x2 with variations in the distance between the piles of 1.5D, 2.0D, 2.5D, & 3.0D on peat soils, as well as obtaining the efficiency values from the bearing capacity and from the Converse–Laberre formula. The analysis shows the efficiency of the pile for the distance between the 1.5D pile is 0.99, the distance of 2.0 D is 0.93, the distance of 2.5D is 0.86, and the distance of 3.0D is 0.79. The efficiency obtained from the Converse-Laberre formula for a distance of 1.5D is 0.44, a distance of 2.0D is 0.56, a distance of 2.5D is 0.64 and a distance of 3.0D is 0.70.

Abstract

Clay soil has a characteristic that is wet, it will be soft and plastic and cohesive. To overcome this problem, clay soil with high plasticity needs stabilization. The stabilization method using additives such as chalk, fly ash and bottom ash can be used as a stabilization material to increase the carrying capacity of high plasticity clay. This study is commended to know the behavior of high plasticity clay which is stabilized with lime, fly ash and bottom ash. Increased crease of the stabilized clay soil is seen from the CBR test. CBR testing is done under curing conditions for 0, 14, and 28 days and soaking for 0 and 4 days. The results showed that the CBR value increased with duration of curing and decreased throughout the duration of immersion. Then the CBR value increases with the addition of lime percentage and each mixture in a mixture variation. The highest CBR value occurred in soil L 5% + MS5 95% with a CBR value of 75.37% under conditions for 28 days of curing and 4 days of immersion. The lowest CBR value occurs in soil L 5% + MS2 95% with a CBR value of 12.85% in conditions without curing and without immersion.

Abstract

Terdapat beberapa kondisi dan permasalahan pada teknik pantai yang tidak dapat diselesaikan dengan analisa matematika. Salah satu cara mengatasi permasalahan tersebut dengan penggunaan perumusan empiris. Model fisik merupakan metoda untuk memahami karakter hidrodinamis. Hubungan antara gelombang transmisi dan variabel pengujian dapat dimodelkan secara empiris. Untuk mewujudkan model tersebut diperlukan suatu alat (tool). Sesuai dengan karakter hubungan gelombang transmisi terhadap struktur pemecah gelombang kantong pasir, pada penelitian ini digunakan analisa regresi sebagai tool. Pada pemecah gelombang kantong pasir, nilai Dn50 relatif konstan, sehingga variabel tersebut tidak dapat dijadikan variabel pengujian. maka bentuk dan susunan kantong, lebar puncak, kemiringan susunan dan freeboard merupakan parameter yang dapat dijadikan sebagai variabel pengujian. Hasil uji statistik menunjukkan bahwa ç - 1÷ model  tak  linear  lnæ 1      öè Kt     ømerupakan model  yang cocok untuk  menggambarkan karaktergelombang transmisi pada pemecah gelombang kantong pasir tipe tenggelam.

Abstract

Housing construction in Tampan subdistrict developed rapidly, either on a small scale, medium or large where developers offer a range of housing alternative to attract customers. The choice of housing is more varied, so that the resident have essential factors as a consideration in selecting a residential location. This study aimed to analise the factors that influence resident preferences in selecting housing in Tampan sub district. Colecting data is using surveys method and interviews with conducted sample selection through stratified random sampling of 100 respondents was obtained. The results showed that from the Chi Square test obtained eleven indicators relating to resident preferences are residents income, the physical condition of the area, the location of the area, environmental comfort, developers offers, the basic physical needs of a healthy home, road access, availability of electricity, sewerage systems, social institutional and accessibility. However, the results obtained by logistic regression analysis of factors that most affect the resident preferences in selecting housing in Tampan sub district is the location of the area, road access , sewerage systems and accessibility.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe purpose of this study was to determine the capacity of the Waduk Cipta Karya as much garbage and sediment into the reservoir, the problems that occur in the Waduk Cipta Karya and revitalizing Waduk Cipta Karya. This study was conducted in approximately Waduk Cipta Karya because although this reservoir has been constructed for the reduction of the flooding that occurred in District Tampan, but floods still occur when it rains.The results showed that the capacity of the Waduk Cipta Karya has declined This is because the waste and sedimentation in reservoirs. problems that occur in the Waduk Cipta Karya is the number of bins that are in dams and reservoirs supporting facilities are poorly maintained, and the revitalization efforts that can be done by the government and the public about the form of the arrangement of drainage and improvement of waterways, sediment control, provision of counseling and guidance to the community around reservoirs and land use regulation. Factors that cause inundation and flooding in District Tampan is the absence of water infiltration due to changes in land use and habits of the people who throw garbage into the waterways.

Abstract

Abstract. Breakwater is one of coastal structures to overcome problems of abrasion. Due to difficulties in obtaining rock material at the coast area, so the using of sandbags as a breakwater providing advantages in utilizing local materials. Therefore, the problem of the rock material supply can be overcome. The environmentally oriented conservation of the coastal protection is necessarily built without damaging the beauty of the coast itself. That is why this research on behavior of the stability of submerged sandbag breakwater is carried out this experimental research conducted in 2-D physical model and take place on the flume tank of Laboratory Ocean Engineering Department, ITS Surabaya for stability test, it shows that the deformation of the sandbags is influenced by the elasticity of sandbags which depends on its dimension and density. The sandbags size influences the grip zone. As a result, the deformation of sandbag depends on the wave forces, as a consequence of the change of slope and cross areas due to sandbags shape and formation type. The formation of SK1 has relatively high stability; the structure with mild slope is more stable, and the sandbag shapes B1 more stable than B2 Abstrak. Pemecah gelombang merupakan salah satu struktur pantai yang digunakan untuk mengatasi permasalahan abrasi. Namun sering sulit ditemukan material batuan di lokasi tersebut, maka penggunaan kantong pasir sebagai pemecah gelombang menguntung karena menggunakan material lokal. Sehingga permasalahan suplai material batuan dapat terselesaikan. Pengaman pantai yang berwawasan lingkungan sangat diperlukan untuk mengamankan pantai tanpa merusak pemandangan pantai. Oleh sebab itu penelitian ini melakukan studi mengenai perilaku stabilitas pemecah gelombang kantong pasir tipe tenggelam.Penelitian ini berbentuk pengujian model fisik 2-D skala lab, yang dilakukan di Flume Tank Laboratorium Jurusan Teknik Kelautan, ITS Surabaya. Pada uji stabilitas menunjukkan bahwa respon kantong pasir dipengaruhi oleh elastisitas kantong pasir, sedangkan elastisitas kantong pasir tergantung pada dimensi kantong dan kepadatan kantong. Ukuran kantong berpengaruh terhadap zona jepitan, dimana zona jepitan ini dipengaruhi oleh perbandingan panjang dan tebal kantong. Perilaku deformasi kantong pasir tergantung pada elastisitas kantong. Sesuai hasil pengujian, deformasi kantong pasir tergantung pada gaya yang bekerja pada kantong, jadi deformasi kantong dipengaruhi oleh kemiringan dan luas penampang kantong, sebagai akibat perubahan bentuk kantong dan jenissusunan. Jenis susunan SK1 mempunyai stabilitas relatif tinggi; struktur dengan kemiringan landai lebih stabil, dan bentuk kantong B1 lebih stabil dibandingkan bentuk B2 untuk susunan yang sama.
