Abstract

This community service aims to provide education and guidance to new members of the Indonesian Islamic Student Movement (PMII) South Sumatra, especially students, in analyzing and providing solutions to social problems around their environment. The method used in this service was counseling, followed by a discussion. The instrument of the activity was a questionnaire, and the data analysis technique used descriptive analysis. The results of this community service activity provided an understanding for students who are members of the Indonesian Islamic Student Movement (PMII) to apply their social analysis more sensitively and empathetic. It can support a sense of brotherhood between members and the community, increasing a sense of security, peace, tranquility, and prosperity.

Abstract

This community service aims to provide understanding and community empowerment regarding land dispute resolution using mediation methods following laws and regulations to increase public legal awareness in Sirah Pulau Padang District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency, South Sumatra Province. Implementing this service used technical guidance and interactive discussions—data collection methods through questionnaires, interviews, and observations. Based on the evaluation results, it was found that 50.5% of the participants understood very well, 13.5% understood, 27.2% understood quite well, 5.9% did not understand, and 2.9% did not understand. The results of this service showed that the community's understanding of other options in resolving land conflicts had increased, namely using mediation methods that could save time cost and have a simple process to reach an agreement. Village heads could resolve land conflicts in the community through mediation, following applicable laws and regulations.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to increase parents' understanding of managing children's emotional intelligence during their growth period towards adolescence at the Kuala Lumpur Indonesian School (SIKL) in Malaysia. The method of implementing the service used interactive counselling, with the target being 30 parents of children at the Kuala Lumpur Indonesian School. The stages of this activity included initial needs analysis, preparation, implementation coordination, activity evaluation, and data analyzed descriptively. The results of this service activity showed that the level of parental understanding in children's emotional management increased significantly; this is proven by data on the level of parental understanding before counseling was carried out as follows: a) 6% understand how to manage emotions; b) 60.8% do not understand how to manage emotions; and c) 34.2% understand some of the emotion management. After carrying out the counseling, the following results were obtained: a) 56.7% knew and understood how to manage emotions; b) 6.7% did not understand how to manage emotions; and c) 36.6% understood some of emotion management. From these data, it can be concluded that parents' understanding of managing emotional intelligence in children has increased to 56.70%.

Abstract

In the current technological era, the growth of the tourism industry in rural areas is increasingly linked to other industries such as agriculture, manufacturing, and healthy and natural lifestyles. The purpose of this research is to study the possibilities and difficulties in building tourism value in rural areas by using an integrated business approach while maintaining the local culture of the village community. This happened in Batubulan Village in Sukawati District, Gianyar Regency, Bali Province. To get information, people look at and analyse documents from various sources, such as books, papers, and articles on the internet. Members of the community service team of Sjakhyakirti University and Association of Connecting Lecturers-Collaboration of Lecturers Across Countries (CeL-KODELN) Indonesia engaged in Focus Group Discussion (FGD) to assess the potential of the village. The results of the service before the programme showed that participants scored 1.89 in their understanding and knowledge of how to develop a tourism village, while the analysis after the service activity showed that participants scored 11.22 in their knowledge of discussion and question and answer techniques. This shows that the strategies used in this initiative are very effective. This service activity discovered the tourism potential of Batubulan Village, including nature tourism, agro-tourism, historical heritage, culinary, and healthy and natural green tourism. The purpose of this activity is to increase the added value of the tourism village through local wisdom and increase the income of the village community.
