Abstract

This study aims to test the validity and reliability of instruments measuring the variable of innovation capacity in the management system of Islamic boarding school education institutions in Jambi City. This research method employed a cross-sectional survey design with a quantitative approach. The sample size for this study consisted of 162 teachers (Ustad/Ustadzah) in Islamic boarding school education institutions. Quantitative data were analyzed using exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) using SPSS 23 and AMOS 18. The results of this study indicated that EFA identified five factor structures to construct the dimensions of Innovation Capacity (IC), namely Opportunity Exploration (OE), Idea Sustainability (IS), Idea Introduction (II), Idea Emergence (IE), and Idea Realization (IR). Meanwhile, these findings were verified and confirmed by CFA regarding the factorial validity analysis of the Innovation Capacity dimension from the EFA testing results. This study suggests that future innovation capacity instruments require further adjustment to enhance the level of reliability and the ability to explain differences related to the measured constructs within different contexts, cultures, and conditions.

Abstract

The aim of the current study is to evaluate an implementation of Microsoft Teams as an option of learning management system (LMS). In this study, we used a qualitative case study design to examine students' perceptions of a program. The findings were divided into 2 categories, the benefits, and potential drawbacks of using Microsoft Teams. From the results of the discussion, the benefits perceived by the participants of this study were reported to be more influential than those of the drawbacks.

Abstract

In the current era of globalization, it has become a necessity for the use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) for academic administrative services in schools. The use of ICT for academic administrative services is nothing new in Indonesia. However, there are still many teachers and administrative staff at every school in Indonesia who still do not use ICT for academic administrative services. This can not be separated from the lack of access of teachers and administrative staff to ICT itself. This lack of access may cause teachers and administrative staff in some schools to still use conventional academic service styles, causing strengthening of governance, accountability and public image of school institutions to be less positive. The use of a conventional academic service style, for example a manual student assessment process, if left unchecked may cause a school as a "learning organization" to not develop or develop slowly. The Training on the Utilization of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in Academic Administration Services for Teachers and Administrative Staff of SMKN PP Jambi is expected to strengthen governance, accountability and public image of school institutions, especially SMKN PP Jambi.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low analytical skills of students in quantitative research, especially among those with low initial ability levels. The study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model in enhancing students' analytical skills in quantitative research. The research was conducted on students enrolled in the quantitative research methods course during the 2023/2024 academic year in the Educational Administration Study Program at FKIP Universitas Jambi. The research methodology employed a Quasi-Experimental quantitative analysis. The results indicate that PjBL has a significantly positive impact on students' understanding and application of methodological concepts in research projects. Policy recommendations include integrating PjBL into the Quantitative Research Methods curriculum, training lecturers and teaching staff, developing relevant learning materials, and providing supportive facilities and resources. Continuous evaluation of PjBL implementation and dissemination of results and best practices are crucial to strengthening learning effectiveness. With these recommendations, it is expected that students will be better prepared to meet the increasingly complex demands of the workforce, equipped with strong analytical skills and the ability to independently apply quantitative research concepts.

Abstract

The transformation of education in the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 and Society 5.0 requires a paradigm shift in the learning process, including in the education of prospective teachers. Twenty-first-century pedagogical skills such as critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, and digital literacy are essential competencies that future teachers must have. Microteaching as a program to improve teachers' teaching skills needs to adapt to the times. The urgency of this research is to improve the ability of prospective biology teachers to prepare themselves to teach by paying attention to collaboration, communication, creativity, and critical thinking. Therefore, researchers have developed a biology microteaching model based on PjBL (Project-Based Learning) and blended learning to improve the teaching abilities of prospective teachers. The aim of the research is to implement a model to test its effectiveness. This research uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method. This type of research is in accordance with the quasi-experimental design model, which allows researchers to evaluate the effect of interventions even without subject randomization. The focus of the research is to determine the effect of implementing biology microteaching models based on Project-Based Learning (PjBL) and Blended Learning on the teaching abilities of prospective biology teacher students. This research concludes that the implementation of the microteaching model based on Project-Based Learning (PjBL) and blended learning for Biology students at the FKIP Jambi University received a positive response.
