Abstract

In the past decade, the global education landscape has undergone a fundamental transformation along with the massive penetration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology. This shift is marked by a transition from conventional teaching methods to a sophisticated adaptive learning ecosystem, where technologies such as machine learning, natural language processing, and learning analytics work synergistically to create a learning experience that is not only personalized but also highly responsive to each student's unique needs. To comprehensively dissect this phenomenon, this article applies the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach by critically examining selected research indexed in the Scopus database. The goal is not just to map trends, but to identify existing research gaps and analyze the real impact of AI on learning outcomes. The findings of this review underscore the revolutionary potential of AI in democratizing access to education; This technology is able to increase students' cognitive engagement and motivation through materials tailored to their respective learning speeds and styles. However, this narrative of technological advancement does not come without complexity. Behind this optimism, the adoption of AI in the education sector is facing a significant wall of structural challenges. Crucial issues such as inequality of digital access that can widen the social gap, ethical dilemmas related to student data privacy, and the level of pedagogical readiness of educators in integrating these new tools, are the main highlights of this study. Therefore, this article exists as an effort to provide in-depth strategic insights for educators and policymakers, encouraging the design of AI-based education systems that are not only technically sophisticated, but also inclusive, ethical, and sustainable for the future.

Abstract

The use of digital media in learning has the potential to increase students' motivation to learn, but the impact does not appear automatically just because learning uses technology. The literature shows that the influence of digital media on motivation is more determined by the quality of learning design, the suitability of activities with students' learning needs, and the readiness of educators and school support. This study aims to summarize research findings on the mechanisms of digital media in strengthening learning motivation, the types of media that are often reported to be effective, the remaining empirical evidence gaps, and implementation challenges in the field. The method used is a qualitative literature review with thematic content analysis of relevant journal articles and supporting sources that strengthen the conceptual foundation. The results of the synthesis show that digital media tends to increase motivation when learning is designed interactively, provides quick feedback, provides a clear learning structure, and encourages active participation through collaboration and production of works. The Learning Experience Design (LXD) approach emphasizes that improving digital learning experiences through easy navigation, directed activity flows, and self-regulation support contributes to strengthening self-efficacy, task value, and self-regulation (Wong & Hughes, 2023). On the other hand, the findings across studies also confirm challenges in the form of access inequalities, technical constraints, variations in teachers' digital competencies, as well as the risk of distraction and privacy issues in the use of certain platforms (Wang & Tahir, 2020; González-Mohíno et al., 2024; Özdemir, 2025). This study emphasizes the need for digital media integration as a context-based pedagogical project, not just a platform selection, while encouraging the strengthening of evidence at the elementary-high school level and standardization of motivation measurement so that research conclusions are stronger and more applicable. Keywords: Digital media, Learning motivation, Learning engagement, Learning experience design

Abstract

This study Science from an Islamic perspective is not only understood as the result of rationality and scientific methods, but also includes moral, spiritual, and transcendental dimensions that are oriented towards the recognition and devotion to Allah SWT. The problem that arises in the development of modern science is the dichotomy between religious science and general science which has an impact on scientific fragmentation and value crisis in Islamic education. This article aims to examine the concept of science as well as the view of the integration of religious science and general science according to Imam Al-Ghazali as a criticism of the dichotomy of science. This study uses a literature study method with a qualitative approach, with primary data sources in the form of works of Imam Al-Ghazali such as Ihya' 'Ulum al-Din and Risalah al-Laduniyyah, as well as secondary data sources in the form of relevant books and scientific articles. The results of the study show that Imam Al-Ghazali views knowledge as a means of getting closer to Allah, which must be based on ethical and moral values. The division of knowledge into the categories of fardhu 'ain and fardhu kifayah as well as shari'iyyah and 'aqliyyah is not intended as a dichotomous separation, but as a functional classification based on its usefulness and priority for the life of the ummah. Al-Ghazali emphasized that religious science and general science are complementary to each other, where reason requires the guidance of revelation and revelation requires understanding of reason. Thus, Imam Al-Ghazali's thought affirms the importance of the integration of knowledge within the framework of monotheism as the foundation for the development of holistic Islamic science and education that is relevant to the challenges of the globalization era.

Abstract

Purpose: This article examines the philosophy of education proposed by Ibn Ṭufayl as reflected in Hayy ibn Yaqẓān, aiming to reconstruct its epistemological framework, pedagogical methodology, and educational objectives, as well as to assess its relevance to contemporary education. Methodology: This study employs a qualitative approach through library research, utilizing conceptual, hermeneutic, and reflective analysis of the primary text alongside recent scholarly literature in the fields of philosophy of education and Islamic education. Results: The findings indicate that Ibn Ṭufayl’s educational epistemology is gradual and integrative, beginning with sensory experience, developing through rational reasoning, and culminating in intuitive-spiritual insight. Methodologically, education is understood as a natural process that positions the environment as the primary learning space and learners as active subjects of discovery, while the role of the teacher shifts toward that of a reflective facilitator. Educational aims in Ibn Ṭufayl’s perspective extend beyond cognitive mastery toward existential transformation that integrates knowledge, values, and character formation. Applications/Originality/Value: This study further demonstrates that Ibn Ṭufayl’s thought has strong relevance to the challenges of twenty first century education, particularly in experiential learning, self directed learning, reflective practice, and the integration of ethical and spiritual dimensions. Nevertheless, its application requires contextual adaptation to suit the pluralistic and institutional realities of modern education. This article contributes to the discourse of Islamic educational philosophy by offering a holistic, humanistic, and contextual educational model.
