Abstract

Kondisi fisiologis merupakan salah satu faktor yang dapat mempengaruhi produktifitas ternak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pemberian berbagai level ransum fermentasi isi rumen sapi terhadap kondisi fisiologis domba ekor tipis jantan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada tanggal 9 September sampai 4 Desember 2014. Penelitian ini berlokasi di Desa Tambilung RT 03/RW 04, Kelurahan Mekarjaya, Kecamatan Rumpin, Kabupaten Bogor. Ternak yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah 12 ekor domba ekor tipis jantan, dengan rataan bobot badan 11,15 ± 0,33 kg. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL), terdiri atas 4 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Perlakuan dalam penelitian ini yaitu R0 = 100% rumput lapangan, R1 = 50% rumput lapangan + 50% fermentasi isi rumen sapi, R2 = 25% rumput lapangan + 75% fermentasi isi rumen sapi, R3 = 15% rumput lapangan + 85% fermentasi isi rumen sapi. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) dan uji lanjut Duncan. Peubah yang diamati dalam penelitian ini adalah suhu badan, laju respirasi dan detak jantung domba ekor tipis jantan. Hasil analisis laju respirasi, detak jantung dan suhu badan domba ekor tipis jantan selama penelitian menunjukan hasil yang tidak berbeda nyata (P > 0,05).

Abstract

Plants herbs widely used as a supplement in fodder to improve endurance and its productivity, including garlic and caraway. This study attempts to test the influence of the combination level of flour garlic and caraway performance against quail period of a starter up to the period grower. Study was conducted on  11 February  – 16 March 2017 in Assalam Slamet Quail Farm, Sukabumi.  This research was used 180  DOQ’s layer. Feed used were:  commercial feed BR-1 for stater and SP-2 for grower – layer, garlic flour and caraway flour. A complete randomized  design with four  treatments and three  replicates was used. Treatments consisted of  P0 = feed commercial (FC), P1 = PK + 2 % garlic flour (GF), P2 = PK + 2 % caraway flour (CF), P3 = PK + 1 % GF + 1 % CF. Research conducted in quail from 2 – 35 day. The variables were consumption, body weight gain, feed convertion ratio and mortality. Data were analyzed by a Duncan test. The results showed that  non-significant differences  on average body weight gain of stater  in the first week. The grower period showed that that non-significant differences on consumption and significant differences increased on average body weight gain in P2 treatment and decreased on feed convertion ratio in P1, P2 and P3. The conclusion showed the best research on supplement 2 % caraway flour to  grower quails. This conclusion was recommended to add 2 % caraway flour in quails feed.Keywords: performance of quails, feed additive, garlic, cumin.

Abstract

The meat of local ducks generally has lower quality than chicken meat. Typical aroma, dark red color, and hard texture of duck meat affect consumers’ preference for it. This study was aimed at assessing the sensoric quality of meat of male local ducks(Anas plathyrhinchos) given betle (Piper betle Linn) leaf extract solution included in commercial ration. The study was conducted at the Poultry Farm of Department of Animal Husbandry, Faculty of Agriculture, Djuanda University, Bogor from June to August 2016. Twenty-four male local ducks aged 2 weeks with average body weight of 449.16±75.27 g were used. BR-21E commercial feed of PT Sinta Feedmill and betel leaf extract solution were used. A completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 3 replicates was used. Treatments consisted of 100% commercial feed (R0), commercial feed + 2.5% piper betel solution (R1), commercial feed + 5.0% piper betel solution (R2), and commercial feed + 7.5% piper betel solution (R3). Data were subjected to a Kruskal Wallis test. Measurements were taken on aroma, tenderness, color, taste, and juiceness. Results showed that there were significant differences (P<0.05) in color and taste. The inclusion of 2.5% piper betle extract solution in commercial rations improved the preference of panelists for the color and taste of meat of local ducks. However, treatments did not affect panelists judgement on the hedonic quality (aroma, tenderness, color, taste, and juiceness) of meat of local ducks. Abstract

Upaya peningkatan populasi sapi dapat dilakukan dengan menerapkan bioteknologi transfer embrio. Superovulasi merupakan kunci keberhasilan transfer embrio. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji perbedaan waktu penyuntikan hormon FSH terhadap respon superovulasi sapi angus. Penelitian ini menggunakan sapi donor angus sebanyak 12 ekor sapi yang telah di palpasi rektal untuk mengetahui kondisi ovarium kemudian disinkronisasi dengan preparat progesteron. Rancanngan penelitian yang digunakan yaitu RAL, dengan 3 perlakuan yaitu penyuntikan FSH secara intramuscular pada P1: hari ke-7, P2: hari ke-8, P3: hari ke-9. Penyuntikan FSH dilakukan dengan dosis menurun  pada pagi dan sore hari masing-masing 4ml, 3ml, 2ml, 1ml. Hari ke-3 setelah penyuntikan FSH, pagi hari disuntik dengan PGF2α dan sore harinya dilakukan pencabutan preparat progesteron. Dua hari kemudian dilakukan IB dan tujuh hari setelah IB dilakukan koleksi embrio. Data hasil penelitian dianalisis dengan analisis ragam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perbedaan waktu penyuntikan hormon FSH tidak memberikan pengaruh yang nyata (P>0,05), namun secara parameter penyuntikan hormon FSH pada hari ke-9 cenderung memberikan hasil respon superovulasi yang lebih baik terhadap jumlah CL, jumlah embrio, dan proporsi embrio layak transfer.

Abstract

This study was aimed at assessing the effects of inclusion of betel leaf extract solution in ration on the percentage of carcass parts of male local ducks. The study was conducted at the Poulty Farm of department of Animal Husbandry, Faculty of Agriculture, Djuanda University, Bogor from June to August 2016. Twenty-four male local ducks aged 2 weeks with average body weight of 450 g were used. The ducks were alocated into battery pens (150 cm x 40 cm) and fed BR-21E ration and betel leaf extract solution. Drinking water was given ad libitum. A completly randomized design with 4 treatments and 3 replicates was used. Treatments consisted of 100% comercial feed (R1) , comercial feed +2.5% piper betel solution (R2), commercial feed+5.0% piper betel solution (R3), and commercial feed + 7,5% piper betel solution (R4). Treatments were given at the second week following the adaption period. Data were subjected to an analysis of variance and a Duncan test. Result showed that the inclusion of betel leaf extract of 2.5, 5, 7.5% in the ration gave significant effects (P<0.05) on the percentage of carcass, wing, and tigh meat but not (P>0,05) on the percentage of back, breast and its parts, thigh, skin and femur. It was recommended that the inclusion of betel leaf extract in the ration be done by 5% in order to obtain high percentage of and more economical carcass, wing and thigh.Keywords : percentage of carcass part, male local duck, piper betle linn leaf solution

Abstract

Ternak itik merupakan unggas yang menghasilkan daging memiliki kemampuan disamping ayam. Ternak itik memiliki keunggulan yang relatif lebih kuat terhadap penyakit dan mampu hidup di lokasi yang kekurangan pakan dibandingkan ayam ras sehingga pemeliharaannya relativ lebih rendah resiko. Kandungan EDS memiliki manfaat sebagai antivirus, antimikroba, antiinflamasi, antitumor, dan antioksidan sebagai system pertahanan tubuh. Tujuan Penelitian untuk menguji  pengaruh pemberian ekstrak daun salam (Syzygium polyanthum)  terhadap organoleptik daging itik (Anas Platyrhynchos).  Penelitian ini dilakukan dikandang unggas Universitas Djuanda Bogor pada bulan Maret – Mei 2019. 100 ekor ternak mojosari alabio yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berumur 7 hari. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri atas tiga perlakuan dan enam ulangan, tiap perlakuan terdiri atas 4 ekor itik. Perlakuan dalam penelitian ini adalah pemberian ekstrak daun salam dalam air minum dengan level: R0= 0%,  (Kontrol), R1= 4%, dan R2= 8%. Data diperoleh kemudian dianalisis menggunakan uji Kruskal Wallis, bila data menunjukkan hasil berbeda nyata (P<0,05) atau sangat nyata (P<0,01)  dilanjutkan menggunakan uji Duncan. Peubah yang diamati pada penelitian ini yaitu uji hedonik, uji mutu hedonik, dan uji fisik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan daging itik yang diberi ekstrak daun salam menunjukkan pengaruh berbeda nyata (P<0.05) pada peubah rasa dan juiceness. Kesimpulan penelitian ini yaitu pemberian ekstrak daun salam dapat diberikan pada itik sampai level 4%.

Abstract

Tanaman pare (Momordica Charantia) adalah jenis tumbuhan jalar yang mempunyai rasa pahit dan buahnya panjang bergerigi. Kandungan pare memiliki pigmen yang memengaruhi warna kuning telur yaitu B-karoten. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji kualitas sensoris telur puyuh (uji hedonik dan mutu hedonik) dari telur burung puyuh yang diberi ekstrak buah pare (EBP) pada air minum. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan selama 2bulan dari bulan Februari - bulan Maret 2019. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Universitas Djuanda Bogor. Ternak yang digunakan 100 ekor puyuh betina yang berumur 30 hari siap produksi. Pakan yang diberikan adalah pakan komersil dengan PK 20 – 22 %. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan yaitu Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) 5 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan. Perlakuan terdiri atas R0 = 0% EBP, R1 = 2,5% EBP + 97,5% air, R2 = 5% EBP + 95% air, R3 = 7,5% EBP + 92,5% air, R4 : 10% EBP + 90% air. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji Kruskal Wallis. Peubah yang diamati yaitu uji hedonik dan uji mutu hedonik (warna putih telur,kuning telur, aroma, rasa dan tekstur). Hasil penelitian menyatakan bahwa pemberian ekstrak  buah pare berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap warna putih telur, warna kuning telur dan tidak berpengaruh nyata  (P>0,05) terhadap aroma, rasa dan tekstur pada uji hedonik. Pada mutu hedonik nyata (P<0,05) terhadap warna putih telur, kuning telur, aroma, rasa dan tekstur.  Kualitas sensoris terbaik dari telur puyuh yakni yang diberi air minum mengandung 7,5% ekstrak buah pare.Kata kunci :kualitas sensoris telur puyuh, burung puyuh, ekstrak buah pare.

Abstract

Penelitian tepung kencur bertujuan untuk  mengetahui konsumsi pakan, produksi telur, bobot telur, konversi pakan serta mortalitas burung puyuh (Coturnix-coturnix japonica). Penelitian dilaksanakan pada Agustus – Oktober 2020 dikampung Cipayung kecamatan Cibinong kabupaten Bogor. Bahan-bahan penelitian terdiri atas burung puyuh 64 ekor umur 30 hari. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Angka Lengkap (RAL) dengan perlakuan 4 Perlakuan P0 (kontrol), P1 (0.5% tepung kencur), P2(1% tepung kencur) P3 (1.5% tepung kencur) dan masing-masing perlakuan 4 ulangan. Data hasil penelitian dianalisis dengan sidik ragam (ANOVA). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tepung kencur dapat disimpulkan tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0.05)konsumsi pakan 19.41-19.70 g, produksi telur 60.05-65.54 %, bobot telur 9.24-9.61 g, konversi pakan 2.77-2.69. dan mortalitas 0%. Penambahan tepung kencur hingga taraf 1.5 % pada pakan komersial dapat mempertahankan produktivitas telur burung puyuh.Kata kunci : Tepung kencur, Burung puyuh, Produktivitas Telur Burung Puyuh.

Abstract

The study aimed to identify characteristics of beef cattle farmers along the street corridor of Southern West Java. The study used a survey method in which purposive sampling technique was applied to collect data from 13 sub-districts of five districts along the street corridor of Southern West Java. Result of the study showed that eight categories of cattle farmers with their respective characteristics, namely: 1) the age of farmers, in the productive category (91%); 2) the level of education, mostly at the level of elementary school education (62%); 3) farming experience, most experience for 11-20 years (30%); 4) the nature of livestock business, is a side business (70.8%); 5) number of family dependents, with the highest number of three family dependents (32%); 6) livestock ownership, is their-self owned (67%); 7) cattle origin, with own purchases namely 46%, and 8) business scale, with many livestock owned by 1-3 beef or 50%.

Abstract

Bay leaves contain flavonoid active compounds including quercetine and fluoretine having antioxidative and antimicrobial properties. Bay leaves can be given as feed additive to improve body metabolism in animals. This study was aimed at assessing the effects of the inclusion of bay leaf solution in drinking water on the performance and carcass quality of male MA ducks. Seventy-two male one-day-old MA ducks were allocated into battery cages (50 cm length, 50 cm width, 78 cm height). The ducks were fed commercial rations containing 21-23% CP and 2820-2920 Kcal/kg ME and given drinking water containing bay leaf solution (LDS). A completely randomized design with 3 treatments and 6 replicates of 4 ducks each was used. Treatments consisted of drinking water containing no LDS (R0), drinking water containing 4% LDS (R1), and drinking water containing 8% LDS (R2). Measurements were taken on production performance and percentages of carcass parts. Results showed that th einclusion of LDS in drinking water gave significant effects (P<0.05) on body weight gain but not (P>0.05) on all carcass composition parameters. It was concluded that the inclusion of LDS in drinking water up to 8% resulted in a mean body weight gain of 194.88±10.88 g/head/day but did not affect the percentages of carcass and its parts including breast, wing, and thigh. It was recommended that LDS be included by up to 8% in drinking water of male MA ducks for optimal body weight gain.
