Abstract

Market vegetable waste produced in Pekanbaru City can be produced up to 235.45 tons/day, this has the potential to utilize market waste in the form of cabbage and mustard greens which are used as feed. This research aims to produce NH3 production values, VFA and dry matter digestibility (DMD), organic matter digestibility (OMD) of vegetable waste silage with the addition of various carbohydrate sources. The research method was carried out experimentally using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) pattern of 4 treatments and 5 replications. Treatments are P1 = vegetable waste silage + 30% rice bran; P2= vegetable waste silage + 30% corn flour; P3%= vegetable waste silage + 30% addition of piles; and P4 = vegetable waste silage + addition of 10% rice bran + 10% corn flour + 10% waste. The parameters observed were dry matter digestibility, organic matter digestibility, NH3 production and total VFA. The research results showed that the addition of various carbohydrate sources had no significant effect on silage NH3 (P>0.05), but had a very significant difference (P<0.01) on the DMD, OMD and total VFA values. The addition of various carbohydrate sources is able to increase the In Vitro digestibility value and is able to maintain NH3 production. The addition of a carbohydrate source from corn flour resulted in superior DMD, DMO and total VFA values compared to other treatments

Abstract

Peran kegiatan penelitian dan pengembangan (kelitbangan) diharapkan mampu menghasilkan berbagai terobosan baru dalam mendukung optimalisasi kinerja pemerintah daerah dalam rangka percepatan pembangunan daerah secara tepat sasaran dan berdaya saing. Tujuan penelitian adalah menyusun rencana induk kelitbanganyang mengakomodir berbagai aspek penyelenggaraan pemerintahan dalam satu konsep rencana kelitbangan secara komprehensif dan sinergis. Jenis penelitian adalah kualitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara FGD dan studi literature. Beberapa peluang Kelitbangan Provinsi Riau adalah sebagai berikut: 1) Hasil kelitbangan berpeluang menjadi referensi utama dalam perumusan kebijakan di Provinsi Riau, 2) Menghasilkan berbagai inovasi untuk mempercepat pembangunan daerah, 3) Rujukan sumber data kelitbangan dan potensi Daerah. Untuk mewujudkan hal tersebut indikasi program prioritas kelitbangan daerah yang harus dilakukan dalam periode 2019-2024 adalah : 1) Program tata kelola pemerintahan danpelayanan publik, 2) Program sosial dan kemasyarakatan, 3) Program ekonomi dan pembangunan daerah, 4) Program inovasi dan pengembangan iptek.

Abstract

Sorgum merupakan tanaman pakan dengan kemampuan adaptasi pada lingkungan yang memiliki suhu tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menilai karakteristik agronomis sorgum varietas Samurai 2 akibat perlakuan usia potong dan dosis pupuk urea yang berbeda pada setiap ratun. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap Faktorial (3 x 3) dengan 4 ulangan. Faktor pertama adalah umur panen 80, 90, dan 95 hari, dan faktor kedua adalah dosis pupuk urea 200, 300, dan 400 kg ha-1. Hasil karateristik agronomis menunjukkan bahwa pemanenan primer pada sorgum varietas Samurai 2 menunjukkan bahwa usia potong berpengaruh nyata terhadap jumlah anakan dan terdapat interkasi antara usia potong dan dosis pupuk urea terhadap jumlah daun. Pada ratun 1 menujukkan bahwa lebar daun dan jumlah daun dipengaruhi usia potong. Selanjutnya ratun I memperlihatkan terjadi perbedaan (P<0,05) pada panjang daun, lebar daun, jumlah daun dan jumlah anakan akibat usia potong. Secara umum bahwa perlakuan usia potong berpengaruh terhadap kondisi agronomis sorgum varietas Samurai 2 pada setiap ratun. Penelitian ini berimplikasi pada penyediaan pakan ruminansia yang berkualitas dan berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Sorghum and indigofera legumes are forage sources of energy and crude protein which can be combined into complete and inexpensive silage feed. This research aims to determine the quality of forage sorghum and indigofera legumes in the form of silage based on nutritional assessment. The research method used RAL with 4 treatments and 5 replications. The treatments used were S0 (100% sorghum), S1 (70% sorghum + 30% indigofera legumes), S2 (30% sorghum + 70% indigofera legumes) + S3 (100% indigofera legumes) with each treatment added with molasses, corn flour and rice bran. The results showed that the combination treatment of sorghum + indigofera legumes influenced (P<0.05) all nutritional parameters observed. indigofera) because it can increase dry matter, crude protein, BETN as well. The best combination was found in the S2 treatment (30% sorghum + 70% indigofera legume) because it was able to increase dry matter, crude protein, BETN and reduce the overall crude fiber content of the silage.

Abstract

Based on data from Central Statistics Agency for 2022, the number of beef cattle in the Meranti Islands is 3,927 tail, 9 buffaloes and 7,985 goats. This very large livestock population is certain to produce large amounts of livestock manure because the cattle population is always directly proportional to the production of livestock manure. This assistance has a purpose aims to produce appropriate technology through the use of solid and liquid waste from livestock manure as a source of biogas. The method devotion is counseling and assistance regarding biogas originating from livestock manure in livestock groups in the Meranti Islands. The institution that will be a partner in biogas development technology activities is the Mantiasa Village independent cattle group, which is a non-productive livestock group. The community service parameters observed is the degree of acidity (pH). The results of the service obtained by the Mantiasa Village livestock group can utilize Biogas from livestock waste which is always available and can be distributed to 3-5 families, so that breeders and the community no longer use conventional gas for cooking. The use of biogas products by breeders and the community can save people's living costs because the price of conventional gas for cooking is high.

Abstract

Utilization of cabbage and mustard waste as an alternative to forage for livestock is one of the efforts in providing limited forage in the dry season in the form of silage. Additives can be added to improve the quality of the silage. This study aims to determine the quality of the fiber fraction contained in the silage of cabbage and mustard waste using a variety of different additive sources. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 5 replications. The treatments were, P1 (70% cabbage and mustard waste + 30% rice bran); P2 (70% cabbage and mustard waste + 30% corn flour); P3 (70% cabbage and mustard waste + 30% tapioca starch waste); P4 (70% cabbage and mustard waste + (30% rice bran + corn flour + tapioca starch waste)). Parameters observed included NDF, ADF, ADL, cellulose and hemicellulose content. The results of this study showed that the administration of different additives had a very significant effect (P<0.01) on decreasing the content of NDF, ADF and ADL, having a significant effect (P<0.05) on increasing the cellulose and hemicellulose content it conclude that the use of various additive sources reduces the content of NDF, ADF, and ADL and increase the content of hemicellulose and cellulose silage made from cabbage and mustard waste.

Abstract

Natural liquid probiotic products have the potential as an alternative feed additive to laying quail which is given through drinking water. This probiotic product can be obtained from pineapple peel waste that has undergone a silage process. The aim of this research was to determine the effectiveness of natural liquid probiotics derived from pineapple peel silage (SKN) on the quality of laying quail eggs. The research method was experimental with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments with 4 replications. The treatments applied were: The treatments given were S0 (drinking water without probiotics); S1 (0.5% commercial probiotic via drinking water); S2 (1% SKN liquid probiotics through drinking water), P3 (2% SKN liquid probiotics through drinking water); P4 (3% SKN liquid probiotics through drinking water). The parameters measured are egg weight, egg white index, egg yolk index, and haugh units. The results of the study showed that giving SKN fluid at different levels did not have a significant effect (P>0.05) on egg weight (10.48-10.57 grams/piece), egg white index (0.055-0.056), egg yolk index. (0.41-0.42), and unit height (106.26-107.19). The research conclusion was that the addition of SKN probiotic fluid up to a level of 3% through drinking water was able to maintain the physical quality of quail eggs which included egg weight, egg white index, egg yolk index and haugh units.

Abstract

The provision of ruminant feed is always influenced by the quality and quantity of forage because it is based on field grass, even though there are cultivated forages in the form of corn and indigofera legumes which are rich in nutrients and long-lasting. This research aims to assess the nutritional value, WSC and invitro digestibility of silage made from corn forage and indigofera legume in different proportions as ruminant feed. The research method used a completely randomized design with 5 treatments with 4 replications. The treatments are P1 = 100% corn forage silage (CFS); P2 = 100% indigofera legume silage (ILS); P3 = 75% CFS + 25% ILS; P4 = 50% CFS + 50%  ILS and P5 = 75% CFS + 25%  ILS. The results showed that the 100%  ILS treatment produced the highest crude protein value (P<0.05), namely 18.77%. The highest NDF value (P<0.05) was in the 100% CFS treatment and the lowest was in the 100% ILS treatment (59.47% vs 42.07%). The highest IVDMD value was found in the 100% ILS treatment, 51.23%, and the lowest was in the 100% CFS treatment, 42.63%. The conclusion of this research is that 100% indigofera legume silage produces the highest crude protein, IVDMD and IVOMD values and produces the lowest crude fiber, NDF and ADF values compared to other treatments.

Abstract

Berkurangnya hijauan rumput lapang dipengaruhi besar karena  banyak perubahan fungsi lahan menjadi areal perkebunan dan industri. Selanjutnya usaha peternakan sapi konvensional selalu menyediakan pakan hijauan dengan sistem potong angkut (cut and carry) yang  hijauannya juga berasal dari rumput lapang sehingga ketersediannya juga tidak berkelanjutan. Kondisi ini tentunnya sangat berpengaruh negatif terhadap pemenuhan kebutuhan pakan sapi. Kondisi di atas tentu harus diberikan solusi yang tepat dan terukur, salah satunya dengan memanfaatkan pakan hijauan sapi yang berasal dari limbah perkebunan sawit, salah satunya  pelepah sawit. Pengabdian ini bertujuan sebagai pendampingan masyarakat dalam bentuk pembuatan pakan silase berbahan pelepah sawit serta mengujicobakan sebagai pakan sapi. Metode pengabdian adalah penyuluhan dan pendampingan mengenai  pembuatan pakan silase berbahan pelepah sawit pada kelompok SMD (Sarjana Membangun Desa) Tani Bukik Batang Potai Desa Penyasawan Kecamatan Kampar Kabupaten Kampar yang merupakan kelompok ternak non produktif dengan jumlah populasi sapi bali sebanyak 15 ekor. Paramater pengabdian yang diamati adalah kandungan nutrisi fraksi serat silase pelepah daun sawit dan palatabilitas sapi terhadap pakan. Hasil pengabdian bahwa kelompok peternak memiliki kemampuan mengembangkan pengolahan limbah pelepah sawit yang tersedia dalam jumlah besar menjadi pakan silase bagi sapi, serta kelompok memahami produk pakan silase dapat dijual sehingga keuntungan yang diperoleh bukan hanya berasal dari penjualan ternak tetapi berasal dari penjualan pakan silase.

Abstract

Limbah pertanian berupa kulit nanas dan daun singkong berpotensi sebagai pakan ruminansia karena masih memiliki nutrien yang cukup baik yaitu protein 8,79% dan 29% sehingga dapat dioptimalisasi menjadi produk silase. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui kualitas nutrisi silase limbah kulit nanas dan daun singkong dengan penambahan berbagai molases. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap Pola Faktorial yang terdiri dari 2 faktor, dengan 5 x 2, diulang 2 kali. Faktor A adalah komposisi kulit nanas dan daun singkong yaitu S1 = 100% kulit nanas; S2 = 75% kulit nanas + 25% daun singkong; S3 = 50% kulit nanas + 50% daun singkong; S4 = 25% kulit nanas + 75% daun singkong; S5 = 100% daun singkong dan faktor B adalah level molases yaitu P0 = 5% molases dan P1 = 10% molases. Parameter yang diamati adalah protein kasar, serat kasar, lemak kasar dan abu. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya interaksi antara faktor S dan faktor P (P<0,01) terhadap kandungan protein kasar, serat kasar, lemak kasar dan abu. Faktor S berpengaruh sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap kandungan protein kasar, serat kasar, lemak kasar dan abu. Faktor P berpengaruh sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap kandungan protein kasar, serat kasar dan lemak kasar. Perlakuan yang memberikan hasil terbaik adalah dengan komposisi 25% kulit nanas + 75% daun singkong dan level molases 5%.
