Abstract

This study focuses on the development and testing of the use of the Gimkit platform as an interactive evaluation medium in Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) learning to increase learning interest and learning outcomes of fifth-grade elementary school students. The method used is Research and Development (R&D) with stages of needs analysis, product design, development, validation, testing, revision, and product refinement. The research subjects included fifth-grade students at Al Azhar 54 Islamic Elementary School in Pekanbaru and their IPAS teachers. Data collection was conducted through observation, interviews, learning interest questionnaires, and learning outcome tests (pre-test and post-test), supplemented by feasibility assessments by experts. The data were analyzed descriptively, quantitatively, and qualitatively, and their effectiveness was reviewed by comparing the results before and after using the product. The results showed that Gimkit can be used as a more interesting alternative for evaluation, encouraging active student involvement and helping teachers carry out more varied assessments. In general, Gimkit-based evaluation media are considered feasible, practical, and effective for application in IPAS learning evaluation in elementary schools, and have the potential to support digital learning innovation in the era of educational transformation.

Abstract

The limitations of interactive learning media that are able to stimulate students' active involvement in Physics learning are still a challenge in many educational units. As a result, students tend to have difficulty understanding concepts and developing critical thinking skills. This research aims to develop Canva-based digital media that is integrated in an inquiry-based learning model, in order to improve students' understanding of concepts and critical thinking skills on Quantity and Unit materials. This research uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with a 4D development model approach (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate). The research subjects were grade VII MTs students. Data collection techniques included interviews, expert validation questionnaires, student assessment questionnaires on the media, and practicality questionnaires. Data were analyzed descriptively, quantitatively, and qualitatively. The results of expert validation showed that the media met the valid criteria with an average score of 83.3% in terms of content, 93.8% in language, and 100% in graphic design, as well as a reliability value of 0.861 in the instrument. Students' assessments of the product showed an average score of 3.27 on a scale of 4 (good category) with Cronbach's Alpha of 0.957. The practicality test resulted in an average score of 3.18 (good category) with a reliability value of 0.944. All of these findings show that the developed media is not only feasible and practical to use, but also effective in supporting inquiry-based learning activities. In conclusion, Canva-based learning media with an inquiry approach is declared valid, practical, and effective in improving students' understanding of concepts and critical thinking. This medium can be an innovative alternative in physics learning that is interactive, visual, and in accordance with the demands of 21st century learning.

Abstract

Research instruments have a great influence on a research because that is where the truth of the research results lies. If the research instrument is wrong, it can be ascertained that the instrument cannot measure what should be measured. The instrument is useful for taking data from the research carried out. This study reviews valid and consistent and reliable instruments in providing research data related to students' environmental care attitudes which was developed consists of five indicators, namely: 1) Hard work to protect nature, 2) Initiative to protect the environment, 3) Respect for health and hygiene, 4) Wise in using natural resources and 5) Responsibility for the environment. The research methodology used in this study is Research and Development (R&D) research. To evaluate feasibility, a media feasibility tool was used to measure the efficacy of environmental care instruments, with melibatkan sampel 25 siswa. So, these figures provide information that this study has produced a quality instrument that can be used to evaluate students' attitudes to care for the environment in the teaching and learning process at Sd 032 Kualu.
