Abstract

This research explores the influence of self-competence and boarding school regulations on character development through Islamic boarding school culture. The probability sampling method was used to collect data from 42 PPTQ Al-Muqorrobin students. The data was collected using questionnaires that employ a Likert scale with 4 answer choices. After that, a PLS-SEM analysis was conducted to test the model concepts. The analysis found that manners and ethics were the main indicators of student character success, contributing to 98.70%. The results also showed that Islamic boarding school regulations and culture positively influence students' character formation. Self-competences, both academic and social, also have a significant influence. This finding means that increased self-efficacy makes students more independent and confident in facing challenges. Progress increases academic motivation and self-confidence, while social skills strengthen positive interactions and create empathy and tolerance attitudes. It shows that increasing student self-efficacy has individual benefits and contributes to students’ character development.

Abstract

Tutoring is an informal activity that aims to help students to be able to solve problems of learning difficulties at school or additional learning that is tailored to the needs of students carried out by an institution/individual. Tutoring is also considered very effective because teachers in tutoring will pay attention to students' understanding and development of the subjects that have been studied. In this service, we will conduct tutoring in Sumberagung Village. This community service activity aims to help the learning process of elementary and junior high school students who have problems completing schoolwork or others. The result of this training is that the elementary and junior high school students will be skilled and accustomed to solving problems that are considered problematic in each task independently. Another result is that to introduce the potential in Sumberagung Village; it is necessary to have a media that can document the village's potential. To overcome these problems, a village profile video in this community service activity will be made, which includes the potential of the village in Sumberagung Village. The video shows the potential in Sumberagung Village, including batik, coffee and milk.

Abstract

Green financial crime seriously threatens the sustainability of the environment and the integrity of the global economy. This study aims to investigate the role of environmental initiatives to religious foundations with a religious foundation in countering green financial crime by reviewing relevant literature, examining religious teachings on environmental stewardship, and evaluating the influence of religious advocacy on public policy and community behavior. In the practical sense in the Indonesian context, Muhammadiyah's humanitarian arm has been involved in disaster relief, focusing on environmental sustainability in recovery efforts. This includes advocating for better waste management and building resilient, eco-friendly infrastructure in disaster-prone areas. These initiatives highlight how organizations use their religious influence, aligning faith-based teachings with practical efforts. Thematic analysis is used in this study to find and examine themes and patterns in the data gathered. The results of this study show that faith-based activities play a significant role in the local and global fight against green financial crime. It is essential for religious organizations to prioritize environmental awareness because of the pressing nature of environmental crises and the significant moral, ethical, and practical effect that religion has. The integration of religious ideas and the utilization of religion-based organizations' strengths can significantly augment efforts aimed at combating green financial crime, thereby resulting in more equitable and sustainable outcomes for both society and the environment.

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of the Tevhid-i Tedrisat Law on the development of religious education and teacher training in Türkiye, focusing on the law’s historical background, institutional restructuring, and influence on teacher development. Historically, Tevhid-i Tedrisat is a policy of "Educational Unification" in Türkiye that was inaugurated in 1924 to unite traditional Islamic education in madrasas and secular education in modern schools. This study addresses how Tevhid-i Tedrisat reshaped religious education, centralizing control under the Ministry of Education, and the resulting implications for religious education teachers’ roles and competencies. Utilizing historical institutionalism as a theoretical framework, this research adopts a qualitative approach, examining primary and secondary sources including government documents, academic literature, and archival records. The study reveals that Tevhid-i Tedrisat marked a paradigm shift, as religious education was secularized and integrated into a unified curriculum. Teacher training institutions, such as İlahiyat (Islamic Theology) faculties, were restructured to emphasize pedagogical skill and secular state values, yet gaps persisted in reaching rural areas and adapting to diverse student needs. The findings highlight the complexities of integrating religious education within a secular framework, where curriculum adjustments were influenced by cultural and political shifts. This transformation created both opportunities and limitations for teacher development, underscoring challenges in balancing secular pedagogy with cultural sensitivity. The study concludes that while Tevhid-i Tedrisat significantly shaped the foundation of Turkey’s educational system, ongoing teacher training reforms could benefit from localized adaptations, inclusive pedagogy, and historical awareness.

Abstract

The rapid growth of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has begun to change many elements of education, including Islamic religious education. Traditionally, Mu'allim, Murabbi, and Mudarris have played important roles in teaching, ethics, and spiritual guidance. However, little is known about the impact of AI on the shifting existence of these terminologies. This research delves into the impact of AI on the responsibilities and perspectives of Mu'allim, Murabbi, and Mudarris, especially through the lens of transhumanism and the diffusion of innovation theory. This study uses qualitative methods to examine data, exploring the variations in AI integration in Islamic education across diverse cultural and regional backgrounds while also recognizing the specific best practices and challenges in each setting. The research seeks to close the gap in understanding between contemporary technology and Islamic educational customs by examining the evolving responsibilities of educators in the age of artificial intelligence. The findings raise significant issues regarding the preservation of human-centered values in religious education while also highlighting the potential of AI to improve educational methods. This study bridges the gap between traditional educational philosophies and technology breakthroughs, contributing to the increasing body of literature on AI in education and providing insightful information for Islamic studies researchers.

Abstract

The study on the theological perspective of religious leaders upon the Covid-19 pandemic is essential to prevent the Covid-19 transmission. This study aims to portray the theological perspective related to the destiny (al-qada' and al-qadar) of NU and Muhammadiyah leaders in Indonesia during the Covid-19 pandemic. This study is a quantitative-descriptive analysis. The data is collected through the validated and distributed semi-open questionnaires using a google form to the 175 respondents living in Java, Sumatera, Sulawesi, and Kalimantan. This study reveals that the theological perspective of Indonesia's religious leaders upon the Covid-19 pandemic follows Ahlussunnah wal Jama'ah theology teaching on fate proposed by al-Ghazali, al-Baqilani, al-Juwaini, and other scholars who have similar views. Moreover, this study also affirms that NU and Muhammadiyah as moderate organizations in the aspect of destiny. Most NU and Muhammadiyah religious leaders have theological views stating that the Covid-19 pandemic is God's ordeal and test, while others believe it is God's torment and punishment. Â
