Abstract

Manufacture is an activity or process to change the form of material from raw into semi or finished goods. The process begins with designing the product, determining the specifications of the material from which the product is made. A series of manufacturing processes may include cutting, forming, thermal treating, inspection, and finishing. Inspection duties are of the Quality Control section tasks. These duties include visual inspection and measurement that takes place before, during and after the production process. CNC machines that are operated for the cutting processes still use memory in the form of punched paper as a medium for transferring G and M codes to the control system. There are two programming methods in CNC machines, namely incremental method and absolute one. The first is where the reference point is always changing, i.e. the last point is to be used as a new reference for the next. The second is where the reference point is fixed, i.e. the first position is used as a reference for all steps. Spoilers are panels mounted on the upper surface of the wing that, when extended, both increase drag and decrease lift by disrupting the airflow over the wing. Manufacturing steps of the spoiler actuator are material verification, turning processes, removing burs, precipitation hardening, hardness checking, turning for surface finishing, grinding, honing, hole surface finishing, flaw inspection, and packing

Abstract

Nagari Atar is one of the viilage in Padang Ganting sub-district of Tanah Datar Regency which is located in a hilly geographical area. Nearly half of its people went migrating to other eities, provinces even countries to earn their living. Therefore “ Nagari Atar” is wellknown as “ Nagari Parantau” migrant village. Surprisingly , those migrants mostly earn their living as photo copy shop owners or managers, at least as photo copy shop keepers. Based on This fact Nagari Atar gets its famous name as “ Nagari foto kopi” photo copy village. With a splendid idea , people at Nagari Atar built up a statue which is called photo copy statue as a proud monument. It is located in front of the office of the Guardian Nagari . Since people of Nagari Atar mostly went migrating only few potentials can serve properly. Therefore this social service is aimed at helping the community to develop the existing potentials through the activities of lecturing on the real wish an Indonesian.

Abstract

Nagari Malai V Suku Timur is located in Batang Gasan District, Padang Pariaman Regency, West Sumatra Province, Indonesia. This Nagari is a new Nagari, which resulted from the division of Nagari Malai V Suku in 2017. Nagari Malai V Suku Timur consists of six jorong with a total population of 3285 people with no more than 1000 people in each jorong. Most of the population is still classified as productive, ranging in age from 26 to 55 years. Geographically, Nagari Malai V, the Eastern Tribe, is surrounded by hills, slopes, valleys, and several extensive plains. Such landscape conditions make the majority of the population make a living as farmers. Kenagarian Malai V The Eastern ethnic group faces many problems. Lack of community knowledge resulted in the village's resources not being utilized properly. This activity aims to assist the development of the village by Andalas University students. The method of activities carried out is in synergy to develop the village's potential together with the government and the community by running several programs, including; Community Health Empowerment, Malai Learning House, Malai Indah Park, building a gate and street lamps, happy week, and Malai people's week. In implementing the program, the methods used are lectures, discussions, and practices by conducting a series of counseling and training activities related to the problems found. From the activities that have been carried out, it can be seen that the success is in the form of high enthusiasm and active participation from all levels of society. It is hoped that this activity can benefit the community and overcome existing problems so that Nagari Malai V Suku Timur will be better.

Abstract

The low nutritional status of the social community facing Indonesia is a social problem in society that will have an impact on the quality of human resources, because it will affect intelligence, immunity to disease, infant mortality, maternal mortality, and work productivity. Stunting is a chronic malnutrition problem caused by a lack of nutritional intake for a long time, resulting in growth problems in children, namely the child's height is lower or shorter (stunted) than the standard age. Based on data from Basic Health Research in 2010, it is known that the prevalence of stunting under five has reached 35.6% and has increased in 2013, namely 37.2%. The prevalence of stunting was higher than the prevalence rate of malnutrition and malnutrition (17.9%), underweight children (13.3%), and obese children (14%). The aim of this community service is to provide education to 30 pregnant women through online media. With this service activity, it is hoped that it can reduce the number of stunting and mortality in children starting from the area of the City of Padang Panjang. Activities are carried out through the media whatsapps for 4 four meetings. The data collected were data on changes in maternal weight before and after the intervention. While the data analysis used paired sample t t-test. Statistical results show that there is a difference in average body weight before and after education with a p p-value of 0.003. Nutrition education can increase body weight and nutritional problems in pregnant women so that they can give birth to healthy and smart children.

Abstract

Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is aprimary cause of death in Indoensia nowaday. Development of CVD is caused by some determinant factors, as well as nutrient and non-nutrient intake to result of oxidative stress in the body. Antioxidants, such as vitamin E, beta-caroten, vitamin C andflavonoid, are able to neutralize the effect of free radical from oxidative stress and to influence lipid plasma. The objective of this study was to know the level of antioxidant intake and its association with blood lipid among Minangkabau ethnic. A cross sectional study was conducted in Padang ciry. The study population was adult, age 30 -65 years old, and sampling technique was multistage random sampling, and sample size is 215 respondents. Data collected were demographic characterisitics, food intake using semi quantitative food frequency questionnaire (SMFFQ) and anthropometric measurements. Blood samples were collected to assess plasma lipid profile and level of flavonoid. Data was analyzed with SPSS version 12 and modifiedNutriSurvey Indonesia. The results showed that the average intake of flkaroten was 15.0 ( SD 6. 7) mg/dcry, vitamin C was 66. 3 (SD 30.6) mg/day, vitamin E was 17,8 (SD 11.8) mg/day and flavonoid was 105.0 (SD 48.1) mg/day. The level, offlavonoid from Minang traditional food was highfrom "gulai" which consisted of some vegetables, such as cassava leaf and jack fruit leaf, and from "samba lado " which consisted of red pepper, union, garlic andsame traditional spices. The mean of total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol were above normal but the mean of HDL cholesterol, trigliserides, and ratio of cholesterol to LDL/HDL were within normal values. The result showed significant association between antioxidants intake from traditional Minangfood with some lipid profile after adjusted for some counfounding factors such as gender and age. It was concluded that high level of antioxidant intake from traditional "Minang" food with high-level fiber intake was a potentialprotective factor for CVD risk in ethnic Minang communities.

Abstract

Malnutrition among children under 5 years old has a large impact on cognitive abilities and the risk of degenerative diseases in adulthood. The research aims to know the risk factors of stunting among children 3-5 years old who have intervention in previous research (nutritional supplementation and psychosocial stimulation since age 6–9 months old for 6 months in Tanah Datar District. This research used case control method with 70 samples (35 case: 35 control) taken by total sampling and was analyzed with univariate, bivariate, and multivariate. The result showed that stunting baby based on baby’s birth length was higher in the case group than control group (60% & 34.29% respectively). Good psychosocial stimulation was higher in the control group. Knowledge of nutrition, feeding parenting, health care parenting, cognitive parenting, and exclusive breastfeeding were almost the same in both groups. Likewise with food intake (energy, carbohydrate, fat, protein), except for intake zink, it was higher in the control group than case group. Multivariate analysis showed that psychosocial stimulation parenting influenced the incidence of stunting (p = 0.05) after controlled by baby’s birth length, the age of the children weaned, and Zink intake. It is hoped that parents will carry out good psychosocial parenting, such as the psychosocial stimulation practice who called of manjujai as early as possible in children.

Abstract

The Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Corona Virus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) that cause COVID-19 global pandemic is a devastating disease causing thousands of victims every day. Therefore, there must be a certain effort to reduce the risk of the disease progress, including improvement of individual immune system like the probiotic supplementation. Meanwhile, dadih is a dairy product obtained from fermented buffalo milk contains various nutrients for human body, especially probiotics that beneficial for reducing the risk of COVID-19 infection in children. The aim of the study was to determine the nutritional and microbiological content of dadih pudding as additional supplementation in children confirmed positive for COVID-19. The study design was True Experiment using Completely Randomized Design (CRD). It consisted of four formulas. They were F0 as the standard formula, then F1, F2, and F3 as the treatment formula by adding dadih 50, 60, 70, and 80 grams, respectively. This study was initiated with the analysis of biochemical nutritional value  at a laboratory in Padang Research Center and Industry Standardization. Besides, it also determined the number of total Acid Lactic Bacterial quantification which was analyzed at microbiology laboratory, Agricultured Technology Faculty, Universitas  Andalas. Nutrients and lactic acid bacteria in dadih pudding are potential as food supplementation, especially for children with COVID-19 infection. It is strongly recommended to give probiotic dadih to children in order to counter oxidative stress and inflammation, and the setting of COVID-19.

Abstract

Background: Gestational Weight Gain (GWG) is correlated to the growth and development of foetus and pregnancy outcomes. Probiotics have a positive effect on gestational weight gain. Dadih is a traditional West Sumatra food containing 108 CFU/ml of probiotics. Objectives: This research aimed to investigate the effect of dadih functional bread on gestational weight gain. Methods: This research is a Randomised Controlled Trials (RCT) design with double blinds with a gestational age of 12-20 weeks belonging to 88 pregnant women. The tests for weight balancing scales were used. The data were examined using Independent T-test for difference test and General Liniar Model (GLM) repeated measures, and Analysis of Covariance (ANCOVA). Results: The average GWG was significantly 2 kg greater for the intervention group related to the control group (7.3±2.6 kg vs 5.4±3.8 kg). The GWG in the intervention group exceeded the recommended GWG per month. The results indicated that weight gain was difference across the four-time measurements in both groups. There was a significant different in the average GWG among the intervention control and the control group (p-value<0.001). Conclusions: Dadih functional bread supplementation for three months significantly effect the gestational weight gain. Thus, the consumption of the dadih products can be considered when planning the nutrition to advance the nutritional status of pregnant women.

Abstract

Malnutrisi pada anak masih menjadi permasalahan gizi di Sumatera Barat. Asupan vitamin dan mineral merupakan salah satu faktor penentu malnutrisi pada anak. Vitamin dan mineral berperan pada proses-proses metabolisme dan daya tubuh pada anak yang selanjutnya dapat mempengaruhi status gizi anak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan asupan vitamin dan mineral dengan status gizi anak usia 6 – 11 bulan di Kota Padang. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian cross-sectional pada 77 anak usia 6 – 11 bulan di Kota Padang. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Oktober – November 2023. Data karakteristik ibu dan karakteristik anak dikumpulkan melalui wawancara dengan kuesioner. Data asupan vitamin dan mineral anak didapatkan dari wawancara food recall 2x24 jam. Status gizi anak didapatkan melalui pengukuran langsung berat badan dan tinggi badan anak. Analisis statistik yang digunakan adalah Korelasi Spearman dengan tingkat signifikansi p<0,05 dan CI 95%. Ada hubungan antara asupan vitamin A dengan BB/TB, asupan vitamin D dan zink dengan TB/U, dan asupan vitamin A dan zink dengan BB/u pada anak usia 6 – 11 bulan di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Nanggalo, Andalas, Belimbing dan KPIK. Nilai korelasi yang didapatkan adalah positif dengan kekuatan lemah. Hal ini menandakan masih ada faktor lain yang mungkin ikut mempengaruhi status gizi anak. Tenaga gizi puskesmas diharapkan dapat memberikan edukasi gizi kepada ibu/pengasuh anak mengenai pemberian makan anak yang adekuat baik asupan zat gizi makro maupun zat gizi mikro.

Abstract

Eating disorders are one of the nutritional problems that occur on adolescents, especially in Indonesia. Various factors can cause eating disorders in adolescents. Research on factors related to eating disorders on adolescents has been available in Indonesia, but the results were varied, some were related and some were not. This research objective was to determine the factors relates with eating disorders on adolescents in Indonesia. Research methods with quantitative design and meta-analysis analysis techniques. This article is looking through PubMed, DOAJ, Garuda Portal, Google Scholar, and ISJD databases with time limits from 2000-2020. Data processing is done with the RevMan 5.4 application. The results obtained were 2,453 articles identified, there were 13 studies that were systematically reviewed and followed by a meta-analysis. A negative body image has a 3.40 times (95% CI 1.71-6.78) risk of eating disorders on adolescents. There is no significant correlation between nutritional knowledge, peers, and the mass media with eating disorders on adolescents in Indonesia. Body image is one of the factors for eating disorders on adolescents in Indonesia. It is expected that adolescents will adopt a healthy lifestyle and good eating behavior in order to get a positive body image and avoid eating disorders. Abstrak: Gangguan makan merupakan salah satu masalah gizi yang terjadi pada remaja terutama di Indonesia. Berbagai faktor dapat menyebabkan gangguan makan pada remaja. Penelitian mengenai faktor yang berhubungan dengan gangguan makan pada remaja sudah terdapat di Indonesia, tetapi didapatkan hasil yang bervariasi, ada yang berhubungan dan ada yang tidak berhubungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang berhubungan dengan gangguan makan pada remaja di Indonesia. Metode penelitian dengan desain kuantitatif dan teknik analisis meta-analisis. Penelusuran melalui database PubMed, DOAJ, Portal Garuda, Google Schoolar, dan ISJD dengan batasan waktu dari tahun 2000-2020. Pengolahan data dilakukan dengan aplikasi RevMan 5.4. Hasil yang didapatkan sebanyak 2.453 artikel yang diidentifikasi, terdapat 13 penelitian yang ditelaah sistematis dan dilanjutkan dengan meta-analisis. Citra tubuh yang negatif berisiko 3,40 kali (95% CI 1,71-6,78) mengalami gangguan makan pada remaja. Tidak adanya hubungan yang signifikan antara pengetahuan gizi, teman sebaya, dan media massa  dengan gangguan makan pada remaja di Indonesia. Citra tubuh merupakan salah satu faktor gangguan makan pada remaja di Indonesia. Diharapkan kepada remaja untuk menerapkan pola hidup yang sehat dan perilaku makan yang baik  agar mendapatkan citra tubuh yang positif dan terhindar dari gangguan makan.
