Abstract

The aim of this research is to describe the effectiveness of problem solving learning model in solubility and solubility product concept to enhance giving reason and identifying conclusion skills.  Students who became the subject of this research was  XI grade of Science 1 Batanghari Senior High School in Batanghari Academic Year 2011/2012.  This research used the pre-experimental method and one group pretest-posttest design. The effectiveness of problem solving learning model was determined based on the average value of n-Gain.  The results of this research showed that the average value of n-Gain of giving reason and identifying conclusion skills were 0,39 and 0,72.  Thus, it can be concluded that the problem solvinglearning model in solubility and solubility product concept effective to enhance giving reason skill in medium category and effective to enhance identifying conclusion skill ept in high category.Keywords: problem solving learning, giving reasons skill, and identifying                    conclusions skill.

Abstract

This researchaimedtodevelop a electrolyte solution and non electrolytes textbookbased onchemical representation; describe the characteristics of a electrolyte solution and non electrolytes textbookbased on chemical representation;describe the teachersresponsesand studentsresponse toaelectrolyte solution and non electrolytes textbookbased onchemicalrepresentation; andknowthe support factor and obstaclesencountered whendeveloping a electrolyte solution and non electrolytes textbookbased onchemicalrepresentation. This researchused theResearchandDevelopment method. The result showed that based on teacher response the surtability content and curriculum of textbook was very high (91,67%), the graphity aspect/ the attractiveness was very high (94%), and levels of legibility was very high (90,98%). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan buku ajar larutan elektrolit dan non elektrolit berbasis representasi kimia; mendeskripsikan karakteristik buku ajar larutan elektrolit dan non elektrolit berbasis representasi kimia; mendeskripsikan tanggapan guru dan siswa terhadap buku ajar larutan elektrolit dan non elektrolit berbasis representasi kimia; dan mengetahui factor pendukung dan kendala-kendala yang dihadapi ketika mengembangkan buku ajar larutan elektrolit dan non elektrolit berbasis representasi kimia. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode Penelitian dan Pengembangan. Dari hasil tanggapan guru diperoleh data bahwa pada aspek kesesuaian isi buku ajar kimia dengan kurikulum sangat tinggi sebesar 91,67%, aspek grafika/kemenarikan sangat tinggi sebesar 94% dan tingkat keterbacaan sangat tinggi sebesar 90,98%.Kata kunci: buku ajar, larutan elektrolit dan non elektrolit, representasi kimia

Abstract

This research aimed to develop an assessment instrument based on chemical representations on the electrolyte and nonelectrolyte solutions. The research used the research and development method which consist of three steps, namely introduction study, product development, and product testing. The subject of this research was assessment instrument based on the chemical representations of electrolyte and nonelectrolyte solutions. This research was administered in the SMAN in Bandar Lampung. At this developed product, expert’s validation test and teacher’s respond test were administered in this research. Assessment instrument was measured by three aspects include content suitability with SK-KD, attractiveness, and legibility. Based on the teachers responses, obtained the result that the material content suitability aspect with SK-KD is in high category, acttractiveness aspect is in high category, and aspects of legibility is in very high category.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan instrumen asesmen berbasis representasi kimia pada materi larutan elektrolit dan nonelektrolit. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian dan pengembangan yang terdiri dari tiga langkah, yaitu studi pendahuluan, pengembangan produk, dan pengujian produk. Subyek penelitian ini adalah instumen asesmen berbasis representasi kimia pada materi larutan elektrolit dan nonelektrolit. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMAN yang ada di Bandar Lampung. Pada instrumen asesmen yang dikembangkan, dilakukan uji validasi ahli dan tanggapan guru. Instrumen asesmen yang dikembangkan dinilai dalam tiga aspek, yaitu aspek kesesuaian isi dengan SK-KD, aspek kemenarikan, dan aspek keterbacaan. Berdasarkan tanggapan guru diperoleh hasil yaitu aspek kesesuaian isi materi dengan SK-KD berkategori tinggi, aspek kemenarikan berkategori tinggi, dan aspek keterbacaan berkategori sangat tinggi.Kata kunci: instrumen asesmen, larutan elektrolit dan nonelektrolit, representasi kimia

Abstract

This research was aimed to develop the plasticware- based apparatus in determining of solution freezing point depression that was conducted by five steps in research and development design until product revision. The result of design validation apparatus had very good criteria for suitablity concept; abundant materials, ease in store, removable, observable; safety, and durability, except achievable cost and based on plasticware aspect. Based on the result of feasibility validation, this apparatus had very good criteria for the aspects of the relevancy with teaching, abundant materials, educational value, durability, the efficiency, and safety for students, except accuracy aspect. All of apparatuss component on the functional testing results and teacher s response were also had very good criteria. Based on the research result, it could be conclude that developed appratus was feasible to be used in the learning.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan alat penentuan penurunan titik beku larutan berbahan dasar plastik, yang diperoleh melalui lima tahapan pada desain penelitian dan pengembangan hingga tahap revisi produk. Hasil validasi desain terhadap alat menunjukkan kriteria baik sekali pada aspek kesesuaian dengan konsep; kemudahan memperoleh bahan, penyimpanan, pemindahan, pengamatan; keamanan, dan ketahanan; kecuali pada aspek keterjangkauan biaya dan berbahan dasar plastik. Berdasarkan hasil validasi terhadap kelayakan alat, menunjukkan bahwa aspek keterkaitan dengan bahan ajar, nilai pendidikan, ketahanan alat, efisiensi penggunaan alat, dan keamanan bagi siswa memiliki kriteria baik sekali; kecuali pada aspek ketepatan pengukuran. Seluruh komponen alat pada hasil uji keberfungsian dan hasil tanggapan guru terhadap alat yang dikembangkan, juga menunjukkan kriteria baik sekali. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, alat praktikum yang dikembangkan dinyatakan layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran.Kata kunci : alat praktikum, penurunan titik beku, barang-barang berbahan plastik, sifat koligatif.

Abstract

The objective of this research was to describe effectiveness of advance organizer learning model in improving students’ skills of giving simple explanations and mentioning examples in solubility and solubility product materials. Subjects in this research were all students in classroom XI IPA3 in State Senior High School 7 in Bandar Lampung. This research used pre-experiment method with One-group Pretest-posttest design.  The research of this research showed that n-gain average values of skills in giving simple explanations and mentioning examples were 0.71 (high category) and 0.58 (middle category). Based on these n-gain average values, the advance organizerlearning model was effective in improving skills in giving simple explanations and mentioning examples.Keywords: advance organizer, skill in giving simple explanations, skill in mentioning examples

Abstract

This research was aimed to describe the effectiveness of discovery learning model to improve science process skills (SPS) on electrolyte and non electrolyte topic related to gender. The method of the research was quasi experimental with 2x2 factorial design. Population was all students of class X IPA senior high school in Bandarlampung on academic year 2017/2018. Samples in this study were students of X IPA 3 as experimental class and students of X IPA 1 as control class which obtained by using purposive sampling technique. The statistical analysis used two ways ANOVA and descriptive analysis. The result of the research showed that no interaction between the use of discovery learning model with gender on student’s SPS, discovery learning model was effective to improve the SPS, the percentage of male students with high n-gain categories is higher than the percentage of female students. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan efektivitas model discovery learning dalam meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains (KPS) pada materi larutan elektrolit dan non elektrolit ditinjau dari jenis kelamin. Metode dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan desain faktorial 2x2. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas X IPA SMA Negeri Bandarlampung Tahun Pelajaran 2017/2018. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X IPA 3 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan siswa kelas X IPA 1 sebagai kelas kontrol yang diperoleh dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Analisis statistik menggunakan ANOVA dua jalur dan analisis deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada interaksi antara penggunaan model discovery learning dengan jenis kelamin terhadap KPS siswa, model discovery learning efektif untuk meningkatkan KPS, persentase siswa laki-laki yang memiliki kategori n-gain tinggi lebih tinggi daripada persentase siswa perempuan.Kata kunci: jenis kelamin, elektrolit dan non elektrolit, KPS, model discovery learning

The aim of this research is to describe the effectiveness of predict-observe-explain (POE) learning model in reaction rate concept to enhance giving reasons skill.  Students who became the subject of this research was XI grade of Science 1 Bandar Lampung Senior High School in Bandar Lampung Academic Year 2012/2013.  This research used the pre-experimental method and one group pretest-posttest design.  The effectiveness of POE learning model was determined based on the average value of n-Gain.  The results of this research showed that the average value of n-Gain of giving reasons skill was 0,66.  Thus, it can be concluded that the POE learning model in reaction rate concept effective to enhance giving reasons skill in medium category.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas model pembelajaran predict-observe-explain (POE) pada materi laju reaksi dalam meningkatkan keterampilan memberikan alasan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata nilai n-gain keterampilan memberikan alasan sebesar 0,66. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran POE pada materi laju reaksi efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan memberikan alasan dengan kriteria sedang.Kata kunci: keterampilan memberikan alasan, laju reaksi, pembelajaran POE.

Abstract

The goal of this research was describe the effectiveness of discovery learning model to improve generating ability on electrolyte and non-electrolyte topic. The research was conducted at SMAN 7 Bandar Lampung using two sample classes which they were obtained by purposive sampling. This research used quasi experiment method with non equivalent pretest-posttest control group design. Learning was said to be effective if there are significant differencess between the n-Gain in the control and experiment class. The result showed that the average n-Gain generating ability in control and experiment class 0.25 and 0.59, respectively. Therefore, it can be inferred that on electrolyte and non-electrolyte topic used discovery learning model was effective to improve generating ability.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas model discovery learning dalam meningkatkan kemampuan generating siswa pada materi larutan elektrolit dan non-elektrolit. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMAN 7 Bandar Lampung menggunakan dua kelas sampel yang diperoleh dengan cara purposive sampling. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan non equivalent pretest-posttest control group design. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata n-Gain kemampuan generating pada kelas kontrol dan eksperimen masing-masing 0,25 dan 0,59. Abstract

This research was aimed to describe the effectiveness of scientific approach to improve science process skills on reaction rate topic. The method of the research was quasi experimental with The Matching Only Pretest-Postest Control Group Design. The population of this research was students of the 11th grade of IPA SMAN 9 Bandarlampung on academic year 2016-2017. Sampling was done by purposive sampling and obtained class the 11th grade IPA-5 as experimental class and the 11th grade IPA-6 as control class. The results showed that the average n-gain of science process skills of experimental and control clasess and were 0.71 and 0.23 respectively. The effectiveness of scientific approach in the learning was showed by the significant difference of n-gain between experiment and control class and also students activity. The result of hypothesis testing showed that scientific approach was effective to improve the science process skills in the learning of reaction rate topic.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas pendekatan saintifik dalam meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains pada pembelajaran laju reaksi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan The Matching Only Pretest-Postest Control Group Design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI IPA SMA Negeri 9 Bandarlampung Tahun Pelajaran 2016-2017. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan purposive sampling dan diperoleh kelas XI IPA-5 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan XI IPA-6 sebagai kelas kontrol. Efektivitas pendekatan pada pembelajaran ditunjukkan berdasarkan perbedaan n-gain yang signifikan antara kelas eksperimen dan kontrol serta aktivitas siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata n-gain keterampilan proses sains untuk kelas kontrol dan eksperimen masing-masing sebesar 0,23 dan 0,71. Hasil pengujian hipotesis menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan saintifik efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains pada pembelajaran laju reaksi.Kata kunci: laju reaksi, keterampilan proses sains, pendekatan saintifik

Abstract

The purpose of this research to describe the effectiveness of the learning model in improving problem solving skills and mastery of concepts to classify colloidal material. Learning model of problem solving is one of constructivism based learning model consists of five phases. The research was done in class XI High School IPA4 YP Unila Bandar Lampung. This study used a pre-experimental method with One Group Pretest Posttest Design. The effectiveness of the learning model of problem solving is measured by the difference in the mean score of the pretest and posttest as indicated by the value of n-Gain skill grouping and mastery of concepts, 0.41 and 0.29. Based on the study hypothesis testing, the results obtained after using a model of learning problem solving skills and his mastery of concepts classify higher than before the learning model of problem solving. This suggests a model of learning by effectively increasing the skills of problem solving and concept mastery group class XI science in colloidal material. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas model pembelajaran problem solving dalam meningkatkan keterampilan mengelompokkan dan penguasaan konsep pada materi koloid. Model problem solving merupakan salah satu model pembelajaran berbasis konstruktivisme yang terdiri dari lima tahap pembelajaran. Penelitian telah dilaksanakan di kelas XI IPA SMA YP Unila Bandar Lampung. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode preksperimen dengan desain One Group Pretest-Posttest. Efektivitas model pembelajaran problem solving diukur berdasarkan perbedaan rerata skor pretes dan postes yang ditunjukkan rerata nilai n-Gain keterampilan mengelompokkan dan penguasaan konsep sebesar 0,41 dan 0,29. Berdasarkan pengujian hipotesis, hasil penelitian menunjukkan pembelajaran yang menggunakan model problem solving memiliki rerata nilai yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan pembelajaran secara konvensional. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran problem solving efektif untuk meningkatkan keterampilan mengelompokkan dan penguasaan konsep siswa kelas XI IPA pada materi koloid.
