Abstract

This study aims to develop Quizizz-based digital teaching materials for poetry learning at SMK Jambi Medan as a solution to students' low interest, motivation, and understanding of poetry material. The study uses the Research and Development (RD) method with the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). During the definition stage, it was found that students had difficulty understanding the intrinsic elements of poetry and were not fully engaged in the learning process due to conventional teaching methods. During the design stage, a prototype of digital teaching materials was developed that combined poetry modules with interactive gamification-based exercises through the Quizizz platform. Expert validation confirmed that these teaching materials were suitable for testing with a few minor improvements. A limited trial involving 34 students showed very positive responses, with 88.2% of students rating learning using Quizizz as more interesting, interactive, and helpful in understanding poetry material effectively. The results of the study show that the integration of gamification technology can increase student engagement and understanding in poetry learning, so it is recommended to be implemented more widely in literature learning in vocational schools.

Abstract

This study aims to develop Genially-based interactive teaching materials in accordance with the Merdeka curriculum to improve students' understanding of anecdotal texts in Grade X of vocational schools in Jambi. This study uses the Research and Development (RD) method with the ADDIE model, which includes the stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. Data was obtained through interviews with teachers and students, which revealed that the lecture method was ineffective and that the hikayat text material was the most difficult to understand. As many as 70% of students liked Indonesian language lessons and actively told stories in anecdotal text learning, with a preference for learning outside the classroom. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach to explore experiences and perceptions related to learning and the development of interactive teaching materials on the Genially platform.

Abstract

This development research aims to describe: 1) the procedure for developing teaching materials for writing explanatory texts based on Google Form file upload using innovative strategies for grade XI of high school; 2) the profile of teaching materials for writing explanatory texts based on Google Form file upload using innovative strategies for grade XI of high school as a result of the development. This research took place in the odd semester of the 2025/2026 academic year. This research used the R&D method through ADDIE modification. The research population for the trial of the revised product was 30 grade XI students of SMA Santo Thomas 2 Medan. This research used a total sample. Data on the learning process in the product trial were collected using observation guidelines. A questionnaire for the closed-type weighing team was used to validate the data and the results of qualitative data analysis. Another questionnaire was used to weigh the teaching materials per type of feasibility. Quantitative data used a checklist. Pre-test-posttest data for writing explanatory texts were collected using a performance test instrument based on Google Form file upload option. Research results: 1) development of teaching materials for writing explanatory texts based on Google Form file upload using innovative strategies for grade XI SMA contains the following procedures: a) basis analysis; b) design preparation; c) design development; d) initial product trial; e) evaluation and revision of initial products; f) trial of revised products; g) evaluation and revision of revised products; h) reproduction of final products; 2) structure of the final product of teaching materials for writing explanatory texts based on Google Form file upload using innovative strategies for grade XI SMA: a) section-1 contains student attribute forms; b) section-2 contains descriptions of materials and examples of explanatory texts combined with copying task techniques; c) section-3 contains tests as learning techniques; d) section-4 contains evaluation of writing explanatory texts using the take home examination system.

Abstract

The use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the Claudia version is believed to be able to assist students who have difficulty writing coherent and objective opinions. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using the Claude version of the AI to improve the effectiveness of opinion writing on bullying for grade 1 students. This study took place in the odd semester of the 2025/2026 academic year at SMA Negeri 4 Pematang Siantar. The Claude version of the AI was used as a companion tool in the opinion-writing process. The respondents of this study were a group of class X students. Data were collected through objectively designed observation and interview guidelines. Data on students' opinion writing on bullying before and after using the AI were analyzed descriptively and qualitatively. The results showed that the use of the Claude version of the AI improved the clarity of ideas, writing structure, and word choice when students expressed their opinions. Students felt more supported because the AI provided examples, suggestions, and corrections that made it easier for them to express their opinions regarding bullying. Furthermore, students became more confident and motivated when expressing their opinions. The use of the Claude version of the AI has proven effective as a tool in improving students' ability to express their opinions on bullying issues.

Abstract

Prokrastinasi akademik, yang didefinisikan sebagai kecenderungan menunda-nunda tugas akademik secara sengaja, merupakan fenomena universal yang signifikan di kalangan mahasiswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis fenomena prokrastinasi dalam kebiasaan belajar mahasiswa, mengidentifikasi dampaknya terhadap kinerja dan kesejahteraan mental, serta merumuskan upaya solusi yang relevan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif deskriptif dengan melibatkan 51 responden mahasiswa. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner skala Likert dan dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif seperti mean, standar deviasi, dan persentase. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat prokrastinasi akademik di kalangan responden tergolong tinggi. Dampak yang ditemukan mencakup penurunan motivasi dan prestasi belajar, serta peningkatan stres akademik secara signifikan. Faktor penyebab dominan yang teridentifikasi adalah manajemen waktu yang buruk dan distraksi dari media digital. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa prokrastinasi merupakan masalah multifaktorial yang membutuhkan pendekatan holistik, dan kontribusinya adalah memberikan pemahaman yang lebih mendalam mengenai fenomena ini di era digital serta menawarkan solusi praktis yang berfokus pada regulasi diri dan manajemen waktu.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menganalisis faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi penggunaan bahasa gaul dalam berbahasa Indonesia di kalangan mahasiswa Program Studi Manajemen Universitas Negeri Medan (UNIMED). Masalah utama yang menjadi fokus adalah dinamika berbahasa mahasiswa dan potensi implikasinya terhadap pembinaan bahasa Indonesia baku di lingkungan akademik. Penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan data primer diperoleh melalui kuesioner skala Likert yang disebarkan kepada sampel mahasiswa aktif dengan teknik purposive sampling. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan bahasa gaul sangat dominan dalam komunikasi sehari-hari mahasiswa, terutama dalam situasi santai dan nonformal. Faktor dominan yang memengaruhi adalah lingkungan teman sebaya (kohesi sosial) dan pengaruh media sosial. Mayoritas responden merasa bahasa gaul membuat mereka merasa lebih dekat dengan teman sekelas dan sering menggunakannya. Meskipun demikian, hampir seluruh responden menunjukkan kemampuan menyesuaikan gaya bahasa sesuai situasi (formal/santai), menandakan adanya kesadaran dan kemampuan alih kode yang sehat. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa bahasa gaul berfungsi sebagai simbol solidaritas dan kedekatan, namun mahasiswa tetap mampu menempatkan bahasa baku dalam konteks akademik.

Abstract

This study aims to describe: 1) the benefits of PowerPoint media in learning to write popular scientific articles; 2) the effectiveness of PowerPoint media in improving students' understanding of popular scientific articles; 3) the impact of using PowerPoint on students' interest and involvement in the learning process of writing popular scientific articles. The research activities were carried out in the odd semester of the 2025/2026 academic year by applying a qualitative descriptive approach. The subjects of this study were all eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 27 Medan. An Indonesian language teacher acted as the main informant. Research data were collected using two non-test instruments, namely simple observation guidelines and semi-structured interview guidelines. The observation guidelines were used for observation activities to obtain data on the use of PowerPoint media in learning to write popular scientific articles, data on the effectiveness of PowerPoint media in improving students' understanding of popular scientific articles, and data on the impact of using PowerPoint on students' interest and involvement in the learning process of writing popular scientific articles. Semi-structured interviews were used to obtain validation data for the observation guideline instrument. Data analysis was carried out using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The research findings show: 1) PowerPoint media is useful because teachers can easily clarify the structure of popular scientific articles by visualizing elements such as titles, leads, body paragraphs, and conclusions systematically so that they are easily accepted by students; 2) PowerPoint media is effective in increasing students' understanding of popular scientific articles; 3) the use of PowerPoint has an impact on students' interest and involvement in the learning process of writing popular scientific articles.

Abstract

This research aims to develop teaching materials for phase E recount texts assisted by augmented reality in high school using Brog and Gall development research procedures. Subjects This research consists of material expert validators, media expert validators, design expert validators and Indonesian language subject teachers at Nurul Islam Indonesia High School. Data collection techniques used in this development research are documentation to analyze teaching materials, interviews to find out problems in learning and questionnaires to validate to find out the problems in learning and questionnaires to validate the developed product. The results of this study indicate that the teaching materials augmented reality-assisted recount text teaching materials that have been developed are in the in very good qualifications / very feasible with a value of 90.6% from material expert validators, validators of 90.6%, media expert validators of 88.3%, design expert validators of 92.5% and subject matter teachers of 95.5%. Based on the assessment. The final result of the average feasibility of the material developed is 91.7% with very good / very feasible qualifications so that it can be drawn conclusion that the teaching material for recount text assisted by augmented Reality teaching materials developed are very feasible to use during learning.
