Abstract

Extra Judicial Killings in the Philippines had caught the attention of various international judicial bodies specially the ICC. The Philippines which a sovereign state was once a signatory of the Rome Statute thus allowing the ICC to have jurisdiction over the country. The ICC conducted a preliminary investigation within the Philippine archipelago for the possible violations of crime against humanity but the Philippines objected to this investigation on grounds that this act of the ICC is an act of usurpation of jurisdiction for the Philippines claimed that they had already withdrawn from the Rome Statute. This paper aims to determine if the act done by the ICC was a true act of usurpation of jurisdiction. This study is a qualitative descriptive analysis and will utilized secondary data as data sources. Upon the analysis of the data gathered, the researcher found out that there is no act of usurpation of jurisdiction done by the ICC. The Philippines may have withdrawn from the Rome Statute, but the investigation conducted by the ICC will only include the extra judicial killings that had occurred from the time that the Philippines was still a signatory of the Rome Statute up to the date prior to their withdrawal.

Abstract

The control of land by large corporations in Indonesia, such as PT Semen Indonesia in Rembang, PT Silva Inhutani Lampung in Mesuji, and PT Perkebunan Nusantara in North Sumatra, reflects a phenomenon of "modern feudalism". These corporations obtain government permits without adequate consultation with local communities, resulting in economic, social, and environmental injustices for indigenous peoples and small farmers. Conflicts often arise with intimidation and forced evictions. Economically, corporations transform traditional livelihoods into low-wage labor, restricting access to agricultural land and forests. The impacts include social isolation, community conflicts, and environmental damage like deforestation and water pollution. The government needs to tightly regulate corporate land control, ensure community participation, and enforce environmental laws for sustainability and protection of indigenous rights and natural resources.

Abstract

This research examines people's perceptions of promiscuity during the Mominango period, which is the first step to getting married. The Mominango period is a period of introduction to the prospective bride and groom as they move toward marriage and this is also a way for both parties to get to know each other more closely. During the Mominango period, there are things that each couple must pay attention to regarding social etiquette during the Mominango period. This research uses a qualitative approach to identifying and analyzing with interpretation techniques in looking at local community perceptions. The data required for this research was collected through a process of observation, in-depth interviews, literature, and documentation. This research aims to find out how society perceived free association during the Mominango period in West Bolangitang District. Based on the results of this research, shows that the Mominango procession in West Bolangitang District is where the men come to the women by conveying their aims and objectives to simultaneously discuss the dowry and matters related to the custom, but after the procession there is a form of free association which is influenced by factors environmental factors, lack of religious insight and low education factors which in turn gave rise to local community perceptions regarding promiscuity during the Mominango period which showed positive and negative perceptions from the community.

Abstract

Human communication predominantly relies on spoken and written language; however, nonverbal cues, such as facial expressions, play a critical role in conveying emotions. This study details the development and evaluation of a deep learning model for Facial Emotion Recognition (FER) utilizing the VGG-16 architecture and the FER2013 dataset which includes over 35,000 facial images taken in natural settings, depicting seven emotions. The objective was to enhance recognition, accuracy and performance beyond the existing benchmarks in the literature. Transfer learning was employed by leveraging pre-trained VGG-16 weights, with the classification layers restructured and fine-tuned for emotion categorization. Comprehensive preprocessing, including normalization and data augmentation, was implemented to improve the model generalization and mitigate overfitting. The final model achieved an accuracy of 85.77%, surpassing several previous VGG-16-based FER models. The model performance was assessed using metrics such as accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score, confirming the model's reliability. Integral to this success was the incorporation of hyperparameter tuning and regularization techniques, notably, dropout and early stopping. The model demonstrated the capability to extract salient features from low-resolution images, thereby supporting its robustness. Additionally,the potential use cases of the model in areas such as transportation safety, security systems, and customer interaction analysis can address in the Future study to enhance the model's real-world applicability by utilizing more diverse datasets and advanced architectures

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan merancang dan mengembangkan sistem monitoring suhu multichannel berbasis mikrokontroler Arduino Mega 2560 menggunakan modul amplifier CJMCU MAX31856 dan termokopel tipe K. Sistem ini dilengkapi dengan modul RTC DS3231 untuk pencatatan waktu, modul SD card untuk penyimpanan data, dan layar OLED untuk menampilkan hasil pengukuran secara real-time. Dengan memanfaatkan beberapa library Arduino seperti Adafruit_MAX31856, Adafruit_GFX, dan Adafruit_SSD1306, sistem mampu membaca data suhu secara akurat, menampilkan informasi secara langsung di layar, dan merekam data ke SD card dalam format yang mudah diakses. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan sistem bekerja dengan stabil pada enam sensor, menawarkan solusi hemat biaya untuk kebutuhan pengukuran suhu di laboratorium dan penelitian.

Abstract

Organizational Citizenship Behavior abbreviated as (OCB) is a personal attitude that every employee who works in both government and private agencies must have. This research was conducted to determine the role of OCB in mediating work motivation and job satisfaction on employee performance at Religious Education and Training Centers. Medan. This research was conducted at the Medan Religious Education and Training Center Office, but because the population was relatively small, the sampling technique used was a saturated sample technique, which involved all respondents to become samples, meaning the sample that would be used was 76 employees. Research data was collected by distributing questionnaires and primary data sources were also used in drawing samples. This research model uses analytical skills and the measuring tool uses Smart PLS 3. The results of this research are as follows: Organizational Citizenship Behavior plays a role in mediating work motivation and job satisfaction on the performance of Medan Religious Education and Training Center employees. Work motivation plays a role in increasing performance, Work Motivation plays a role in improving employee performance, work satisfaction plays a role in improving employee performance and Organizational Citizenship Behavior plays a role in improving employee performance.

Abstract

This research examines how work meetings serve as the primary foundation for managing and developing social character within Karang Tarun Boto Lempangang's youth groups. The effectiveness of work meetings in enhancing coordination, communication, and decision-making inside the youth organization is the primary issue raised. Due to few studies that specifically reviewed the role of work meetings in influencing the management of social organizations such as Karang Taruna, this research was conducted. The main respondents were members and administrators of Karang Taruna who actively participated in work meetings. Data analysis was carried out using thematic analysis techniques to identify the main themes related to the role of work meetings. According to the study's findings, productive meetings can speed up decision-making, enhance internal communication, and enhance member coordination. Work meetings also contribute to members' empowerment and increase sense of community inside the company. The study's conclusion is that in order to properly accomplish organizational objectives, Karang Taruna management must improve the quality of work meetings.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan Program Gabungan Kelompok Tani Dalam Pemberdayaan Masyarakat Di Desa Wonggarasi Tengah. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif, dan teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Serta analisis data menggunakan proses reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pelaksanaan Program Gapoktan Desa Wonggarasi Tengah melalui (A) Pogram Gapoktan Dalam Pemberdayaan Masyarakat di Desa Wonggarasi Tengah yaitu, (1) penyedia input usaha tani seperti pupuk, obat-obatan, dan bibit; (2) Memberi penyokongan dan bimbingan dalam bentuk material dan non material, dimana gapoktan memfasilitasi pembiayaan atau permodalan usaha tani atau kelompok tani yang tergabung dalam gapoktan; (c) penyedia informasi, dimana gapoktan bekerjasama dengan balai Penyuluh Pertanian mengadakan kegiatan sosialisasi dan penyuluhan untuk memberikan informasi melalui gapoktan; (B) Hasil dari pelaksanaan program gapoktan di Desa Wonggarasi Tengah, Indikator keberhasilan pemberdayaan dalam kegiatan masyarakat, pemberdayaan menunjuk pada kemampuan orang khususnya kelompok rentan dan lemah: (1) Memenuhi kebutuhan dasarnya sehingga mereka memiliki kebebasan dalam artian bukan saja bebas dari kelaparan akan tetapi bebas dari kebodohan dan kesakitan; (2) Menjangkau sumber-sumber produktif yang memungkinkan mereka dapat meningkatkan pendapatannya. Berdasarkan indikator diatas Gapoktan Desa Wonggarasi Tengah telah berhasil melakukan pemberdayaan masyarakat Desa Wonggarasi Tengah, hasil pemberdayaan sudah dirasakan oleh masyarakat Desa Wonggarasi Tengah yaitu (1) masyarakat mampu meningkatkan pendapatan dengan memanfaatkan suber daya yang ada dan menggali potensi mereka dengan pelatihan-pelatihan yang diikutinya; (2) masyarakat mampu memenuhi kebutuhan dasar seperti dapat mencukupi kebutuhan sekolah anak, merenovasi rumah, serta terpenuhinya kebutuhan gizi.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dampak pelatihan pengolahan bahan pangan lokal terhadap ibu hamil dalam upaya pencegahan stunting dengan metode kualitatif, Dalam penelitian ini, peneliti melakukan pengumpulan menggunakan data observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil pada tingkat ini menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan pengolahan bahan pangan lokal bagi ibu hamil dan ibu yang memiliki anak balita telah memberikan kontribusi yang sangat besar dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan mereka dalam mengolah makanan bergizi menggunakan bahan pangan lokal. Dampak positif dari pelatihan ini membawa perubahan terhadap ibu hamil dan ibu yang mempunyai anak balita .Selain itu, dengan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan yang diperoleh dari pelatihan, diharapkan ibu hamil dan ibu yang memiliki anak balita dapat lebih mudah mengolah bahan pangan lokal menjadi makanan yang bergizi, sehingga dapat membantu mengurangi angka stunting di masyarakat. Abstract

Brown rice planthopper (Nilaparvata lugens (Stål)) is a highly damaging pest of rice that has led to considerable losses in yields, increasing resistance to most conventional insecticides demands the adoption of eco-friendly chemical solutions. Cyperus rotundus L., a medicinal plant unaffected by N. lugens and reported to possess insecticidal properties, was selected for its potential to inhibit acetylcholinesterase (AChE), a key insect nervous system enzyme. Nine phytochemicals isolated from C. rotundus were evaluated through molecular docking, with quercetin (−8.9 kcal/mol), biochanin A (−8.7 kcal/mol), and cyperotundol (−8.1 kcal/mol) outperforming the positive control, carbofuran (−8.2 kcal/mol). The identified phytochemicals proved to have better binding affinity and complex stability, evidenced by the reduced values of RMSD/RMSF and more lasting interactions over 100 ns MD simulations compared to the positive control in both domain movement and binding stability. MMGBSA estimated favorable binding free energies (−67.06, −57.11, −71.07 kcal/mol) versus carbofuran (−36.84 kcal/mol). These findings suggest that C. rotundus phytochemicals are promising natural AChE inhibitors and potential candidates for sustainable N. lugens control. Their effectiveness implies the eco-friendly use of these natural compounds as a possible factor in the use of fewer and non-synthetic insecticides in pest control or integrated pest management.
