Abstract

This quantitative investigation examines the impact of workplace conditions and motivation on tutor performance, incorporating job satisfaction as a mediating factor. Data was gathered via questionnaires distributed to tutors across 10 Training and Course Institutions (LKP) in Kampung Inggris, Pare, Kediri, Indonesia. From a total population of 185 tutors, 165 completed surveys were returned and analyzed. Researchers employed a non-probability sampling strategy, specifically judgmental purposive sampling. Analysis was conducted using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results demonstrate statistically significant positive effects: both the work environment and work motivation directly enhance tutor performance and also have a positive influence on job satisfaction. Furthermore, job satisfaction itself exerts a significant positive effect on performance. Crucially, mediation analysis confirms that job satisfaction partially mediates the relationship between the work environment and work motivation, and both of these factors influence tutor performance. These findings offer valuable insights for institutional enhancement strategies.

Abstract

The fact that demographic bonus presents a major opportunity for a country’s growth and development if the working-age population, especially youth and university graduates, can be effectively absorbed into the labor market. In Indonesia, the gap between students’ skills and labor market needs remains a key factor underlying the relatively high unemployment rate among graduates. Consequently, strengthening students’ work readiness is crucial. This study examines the influence of internship experience and career decision-making self-efficacy on the work readiness of students participating in the Certified Internship and Independent Study Program (MSIB) of Kampus Merdeka. This explanatory quantitative research involved 389 respondents selected through survey using purposive sampling, targeting active Indonesian university students from the 2020–2022 cohorts who participated in the 5th to 7th batches of the Certified Internship program. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with SPSS version 30. The results show that both internship experience and career decision-making self-efficacy have a positive and significant effect on work readiness, both partially and simultaneously. These findings imply that the better the students’ internship experience and career decision-making self-efficacy, the higher their level of work readiness. The study highlights the importance for higher education institutions and policymakers of enhancing internship quality and fostering students’ career decision-making self-efficacy to strengthen their readiness to enter the workforce.

Abstract

This community service program aimed to strengthen the institutional capacity of the Tourism Awareness Group and enhance product competitiveness among coffee micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Sedau Tourism Village, West Lombok. Recognizing the interconnected challenges of weak organizational structure and unbranded, low-visibility products, the program implemented a participatory action research (PAR) based intervention that integrated organizational development with hands-on technical mentoring. Over two intensive days in June 2025, 8 Tourism Awareness Group members and 9 coffee MSME owners co-created tangible outputs through facilitated workshops and practical sessions. These included a collectively agreed vision-mission document, end-to-end coffee production standard operating procedures (SOPs), and culturally grounded packaging designs incorporating Sasak heritage motifs. A unified brand identity emerged from collaborative discussions, crystallized in the slogan “Kopi Sedau Jadi Tau” (“Once You Try Sedau Coffee, You’ll Know”). During digital marketing training, participants actively created or updated WhatsApp Business and Instagram profiles. Importantly, the packaging designs were printed and immediately adopted for commercial use, demonstrating early-stage implementation. Consistent with PAR principles, success is defined not by individual competency gains due to the absence of pre-post assessments but by the co-creation, local ownership, and immediate application of contextually relevant solutions. This integrated model offers a replicable framework for tourism village development that balances institutional strengthening with product-level innovation, laying a practical foundation for future competitiveness in regional and national markets.

Abstract

The Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DGCE) is one of the Directorates General within the Ministry of Finance responsible for formulating and implementing policies in the areas of supervision, law enforcement, services and facilities, and optimization of state revenue in the areas of customs and excise in accordance with the provisions of laws and regulations. However, even though DGCE is a government agency, its performance still needs to be optimized. The purpose of this study is to analyze the impact of talent management and knowledge management on organizational performance in public organizations. Employee engagement in this study is expected to contribute to state revenue growth, thereby boosting the Indonesian economy. A quantitative technique was used in an explanatory research design. Using proportionate stratified random sampling, 303 respondents were chosen from among 912 Heads of Offices and Heads of Subdivisions/Sections throughout Indonesia. Likert scale surveys were used to gather data. Structural Equation Modeling Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) was used to do the analysis. Generational differences were also tested using multi-group analysis (MGA). The findings demonstrate that knowledge and talent management directly enhance organizational performance. Employee engagement can mediate the relationship between talent management and knowledge management on organizational performance. MGA results, however, show no discernible generational differences. The novelty of this study lies in comparing the public and private sectors. These results contribute to the body of study on human resource management in public institutions and offer recommendations to enhance DGCE's talent management, knowledge management, and employee engagement.
