Abstract

This study aims to develop an enrichment book for Riparian plant species diversity in Kampar Regency. This research was carried out with an ADDIE development model consisting of the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation stages. limited to the Development stage, namely the Validity Test due to time constraints. The type of data used is quantitative and qualitative data, the data sources are primary data and secondary data. The parameter in this study is the validity which is measured by using a Validation Questionnaire. Subject Experts who are competent in their fields. The results of the Material Expert Validation of the content feasibility component and the presentation of the material obtained an average score of 5 with a very good category. Media Experts for the Language component and Graphic Component obtained an average score of 5 in the very good category, the Biology teacher for the presentation of material/content, the language component, and the graphic component received an average score of 5 in the very good category. The conclusion of the book on Enrichment of Riparian Plant Species in Kampar Regency is the Valid and Eligible Category for use in the next stage.

Abstract

The type of this research is research and development using the ADDIE Instructional Model which consists of the design phase, doing product design, validation sheets and limited test responses. Development, conducting product development and testing product validity from material experts, media experts and biology teachers. Implementation, conducted a limited trial of phase I on 10 students and phase II on 31 students of class XI MIPA. Evaluation, Conducting an evaluation of each stage carried out. The results of the analysis phase of the curriculum used in the learning process in schools is the 2013 curriculum. The basic competencies that are appropriate in the development of this Electronic Encyclopedia are KD (3.7) Plantae. The results of the analysis of the characteristics of students are known, students prefer to learn by discussion, students prefer to learn in an environment outside the classroom and are more interested in learning with books that have lots of pictures, so that the Flipbook Maker-based Encyclopedia of Spermatophyta learning resources was developed. Based on the results of the validity test and limited trial, the overall value of the category is very good so that it produces a quality Flipbook Maker-based Electronic Encyclopedia of Spermatophyta, which can be used as a learning resource.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh e-booklet berbasis Discovery Learning terhadap Minat belajar Peserta didik pada materi sistem koordinasi Biologi SMA. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di kelas XI di SMA Negeri 2 Rambah Hilir . beralamat Kumu kec. Rambah Hilir dan Pengambilan data pada bulan Maret sampai April 2021/2022. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan (Research and Development) menggunakan model pengembangan ADDIE. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah selurh siswa kelas XI SMA N 2 Rambah Hilir tahun ajaran 2021/2022 dengan jumlah 2 kelas. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan angket, observasi, wawancara dan melalui uji tes kognitif.. Hasil nilai rerata minat belajar peserta didik pada saat sebelum perlakuan untuk kelas eksperimen 65.4 kategori rendah dan kelas kontrol 65.2 kategori rendah. setelah pemberian E-Booklet berbasis Discovery Learning pada kelas ekperimen terjadi peningkatan rerata minat belajar kelas eksperimen 84,2 kategori tinggi, kelas kontrol memperoleh nilai rata-rata 65.5 kategori sedang Hasil penelitian ini disimpulkan secara kesulurah E-Booklet berbasis Discovery Learning valid dan layak digunakan pada tahapan selanjutnya.

Abstract

Abstract: The test instrument is a measuring tool in the form of a number of questions that require answers to measure a person's level of ability. The purpose of this research is to produce a valid test instrument on ecosystem material in class X SMA/MA. This research was conducted at the Biology Education Campus, FKIP Riau University and SMAN 1 Pekanbaru. This type of research is development research using the ADDIE model, which consists of the Analysis, Design, and Development stages. The data collection instrument used was a validation sheet. The validation sheet consists of 3 aspects, namely material aspects, construction aspects, and language aspects. The three aspects include material aspects with an average of 3.95 very valid category, construction aspects with an average of 3.70 very valid category, language aspects with an average of 3.91 very valid category. The aspect that received the highest score was the material aspect with an average score of 3.95 with a very valid category. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the test instrument on the ecosystem material for class X SMA/MA that has been developed is included in the very valid category in all aspects with an average validity value of 3.85, so that the test instrument that has been developed can be used in learning biology.Key Word: Test Instrument, Ecosystem.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to determine the effectiveness of online learning for biology subjects during the covid-19 pandemic. Descriptive research was conducted at the Integrated Agricultural Vocational School of Riau Province in May-June 2022. The population in this study were all students of class X agritans, the determination of the sample was carried out by purposive sampling, the sample in this study was class X agritan 1 and agritan 3 as many as 64 students. The instruments used in data collection were closed questionnaires to students and interviews to teachers. The questionnaire used is an adoption questionnaire. The results showed that the effectiveness of online learning for biology subjects on the indicators of learning tools with a percentage of 47.57% was quite effective.Key Words: Effectiveness, Online Learning, Biology Lessons

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to analyze the difficulties of biology teachers in implementing distance learning at SMA Negeri Pekanbaru. This type of research is descriptive research. This research was conducted through the Pekanbaru Biology MGMP in May-June 2022. The sample was taken using purposive sampling, while the samples were 30 MGMP teachers with teaching criteria at Pekanbaru State High School and 30 students. The research instrument used in the form of a combination questionnaire to the teacher and a closed questionnaire to students. Before the instrument is distributed, it is validated by 3 lecturers until it is declared suitable for use. The results showed that the average percentage was 70% in the high category. Difficulties for teachers in implementing Distance Learning (PJJ) have difficulties such as limited time allocation hindering teachers in delivering material, learning methods that are difficult to adapt to current learning, making learning media for practical materials, lack of knowledge about electronic sources, and difficulties in monitoring student learning at home due to lack of cooperation between teachers and parents this is due to the busyness of parents with daily activities.Key Words: Teacher Difficulty, Distance Learning

Abstract

Plants are the main medicinal source that exists around the world, due to the content of bioactive compounds such as flavonoids, alkaloids, saponins, polyphenols, tannins, terpenoids, and essential oils. These bioactive compounds have antimicrobial activity. The purpose of this study was to analyze the antibacterial activity of a combination extracts of Sumatran wild mango (M. sumatrana, and M. foetida var. Batu), R. tuberosa L.  and Leucobryum sp. against bacteria that cause gangrene wounds in diabetics. Preparation of plant extraction is carried out by the method of maceration using 70% alcohol. Testing of antibacterial activity using the disc paper method 6 mm in diameter at an extract concentration of 10% with seven treatments (P1-P7). The test results obtained the largest inhibitory zone diameter against Staphyococcus aureus ATCC 6538 and S. epidermidis ATCC 12228 both shown in combination II extracts at P7 treatment (2:3:1 ratio), 9.04±1.42 mm and 8.85±0.21 mm, respectively. The results of the inhibitory zone resulting from the combination extract test included criteria of resistance to Staphylococcus. In the positive control, the diameter of the chloramphenicol inhibition zone against S. aureus belongs to the sensitive category, but to S. epidermidis it belongs to the resistant category. Combination of methanol extract from wild mango, R. tuberosa L and Leucobryum sp. has the opportunity as the candidate for natural-based antibiotics to replace synthetic antibiotics.

Abstract

Research on the development of an integrated science pocket book based on scientific literacy on environmental pollution and climate change aims to see the validity, practicality and response of students. This study used ADDIE's research development (R&D) which consisted of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. But in this research only reached the development stage. Data is collected through a questionnaire. After analyzing the needs and designing an integrated science literacy-based pocket book, the research proceeded to the development process. Scientific literacy consists of 4 aspects, each aspect has its own indicator code. At the pocket book development stage it was validated by five experts, namely, material experts, media experts and 2 teachers. The results showed that the validation of material, media, pedagogic experts , and 2 teachers was 3.42 with a very valid category. The results of the practicality test obtained a score of 81.84 which can be categorized as very practical, and the results of the student response test obtained a score of 86.05 in the very good category . In conclusion, the development of integrated science pocket books based on scientific literacy on environmental pollution and climate change is stated to be very valid, practical and very well used by students in the learning process.

Abstract

Abstrak : Keterampilan abad 21 siswa dapat ditingkatkan melalui pemberian instrumen evaluasi berbasis HOTS (Higher Order Thinking Skills). Berdasarkan analisis situasi pada sekolah mitra masih banyak guru yang belum menggunakan instrumen evaluasi berbasis HOTS dikarenakan ketidakmampuan guru dalam menyusun soal tes berbasis HOTS serta belum berbasis teknologi. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan guru dalam menyusun soal evaluasi berbasis HOTS dengan menggunakan aplikasi Live Worksheet. Kegiatan terdiri dari 3 tahap yaitu, (1) persiapan; (2) pelaksanaan; dan (3) evaluasi. Sekolah mitra yaitu SMA N 1 Benai Kabupaten Kuantan Singingi Provinsi Riau dengan jumlah peserta sebanyak 30 orang. Ukuran ketercapaian kegiatan berdasarkan peningkatan pretest dan posttest serta angket respons peserta. Hasil kegiatan diperoleh bahwa pengetahuan peserta pelatihan meningkat sebesar 48.9% dan guru sudah dapat memasukan soal kedalam aplikasi live worksheet. Berdasarkan hasil angket mendapat respons positif dari peserta pengabdian mencapai 95.8% dengan kategori sangat baik. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa kegiatan pengabdian dapat meningkatkan kemampuan guru dalam menyusun soal evaluasi berbasis HOTS melalui aplikasi live worksheet.Abstract: One way to improve students' 21st century skills is through the provision of evaluation instruments based on HOTS (Higher Order Thinking Skills) abilities. Based on the situation analysis at SMA N 1 Benai, Kuantan Singingi Regency, Riau Province, many teachers have not used HOTS-based evaluation instruments due to the teacher's inability to prepare HOTS-based test questions and an evaluation system that is not yet technology-based. This service activity aims to improve the teacher's ability to compile HOTS-based evaluation questions using the Live Worksheet application. Service activities consist of 3 stages, namely, (1) preparation; (2) implementation; and (3) evaluation. The partners in this activity were SMA N 1 Benai, Kuantan Singingi Regency, Riau Province with 30 participants. The measure of the achievement of community service activities can be seen from the increased value of the pretest and posttest as well as the questionnaire responses of the community service participants. The results of the service activities obtained data that the knowledge of the training participants increased by 48.9% and the teacher was able to enter questions into the live worksheet application. Based on the results of the questionnaire, it received a positive response from the service participants reaching 95.8% in the very good category. It can be concluded that community service activities can improve teachers' abilities in compiling HOTS-based evaluation questions through the live worksheet application.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan instrumen tes berbasis literasi sains pada materi ekosistem di kelas X SMA/MA yang berkualitas sehingga bermanfaat dalam meningkatkan kemampuan literasi sains peserta didik. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Kampus Pendidikan Biologi FKIP Universitas Riau dan SMAN 1 Pekanbaru. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan dengan menggunakan model ADDIE yang terdiri dari tahap analisis yaitu analisis kurikulum, analisis konsep, analisis peserta didik, dan analisis butir soal. Selanjutnya pada tahap desain yaitu merancang perangkat pendukung yang terdiri dari silabus dan rpp dan merancang instrumen tes berbasis literasi sains pada materi ekosistem. Tahap pengembangan yaitu merealisasikan apa yang telah dirancang pada tahap desain dengan melakukan pengembangan terhadap instrumen tes berbasis literasi sains. Instrumen pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah lembar validasi yang meliputi aspek materi, konstruksi, bahasa dan literasi sains serta angket respon yang meliputi aspek materi, aspek bahasa dan aspek literasi sains. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kualitas instrumen tes berbasis literasi sains pada materi ekosistem kelas X SMA/MA yang dikembangkan sangat baik dengan nilai kualitas 3.71, dengan rincian yaitu nilai validasi 3.79 dengan kategori sangat valid dan nilai uji coba terbatas 3.62 dengan kategori sangat baik. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa instrumen tes berbasis literasi sains pada materi ekosistem kelas X SMA/MA yang dikembangkan berkualitas sangat baik sehingga dapat digunakan pada proses pembelajaran biologi di sekolah.
