Abstract

ABSTRACT: The present study aims to determine the gonad index (GI) and the size of the gonad maturity of bigeye scad Selar crumenophthalmus. A survey method and direct observation of Selar crumenophthalmus was performed. The present study was conducted from March to May 2020 at Perikanan Nusantara Port in the Kwandang Fisheries. The sampled fish were caught using purse seines, gill nets, hand lines, and light fishing (bagan). Samples were measured and observed every week for 3 months. A total of 2352 samples consisted of 1201 females and 1151 males. The results showed that the gonad index of female bigeye scad fish ranged from 1.628-2.894% (2.325 ± 0.37%), while male GIs ranged from 1.386-2.209 (1.861 ± 0.25%) and the size of the first maturity of male bigeye scad fish gonads was 18.91 cm (fork length) and female bigeye scad was 17.98 cm (fork length). ABSTRAK: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengamati dan menganalisis indeks kematangan gonad (IKG) dan ukuran pertama kali matang gonad ikan Selar Bentong. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei dan pengamatan langsung terhadap ikan Selar Bentong. Penelitian dilakukan mulai bulan Maret-Mei 2020 di Pelabuhan Perikanan Nusantara (PPN) Kwandang Gorontalo Utara. Ikan yang diamati ditangkap dengan pukat cincin, jaring insang, pancing ulur dan bagan. Sampel diukur dan diamati setiap minggu selama 3 bulan. Sampel yang diamati berjumlah 2352 ekor yang terdiri dari 1201 betina dan 1151 jantan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa indeks kematangan gonad ikan Selar Bentong betina berkisar 1,628-2,894% (2,325 ± 0,37%), sedangkan IKG jantan berkisar 1,386-2,209 (1,861 ± 0,25%) dan ukuran pertama kali matang gonad ikan Selar Bentong jantan pada panjang cagak 18,91 cm dan Selar Bentong betina pada panjang cagak 17,98 cm.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kadar logam berat timbal (Pb) dan hubungan kualitas air dengan ukuran ikan pada ikan Goby Glossogobius giuris. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan pada bulan Juni hingga Juli 2021 di Danau Tempe, Wajo, Soppeng, dan Kabupaten Sidrap. Metode Spektrofotometer Serapan Atom (AAS) digunakan untuk menentukan kadar logam berat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kadar timbal tertinggi pada sampel Soppeng 0,055 ppm, diikuti Kabupaten Wajo (0,042 ppm), dan terendah 0,035 ppm di Kabupaten Sidrap. Kadar timbal di setiap stasiun pengambilan sampel belum melebihi ambang batas Standar Nasional Indonesia yaitu 0,3 ppm bahkan pada tingkat yang sangat minimal tidak tergolong tercemar logam timbal. Hubungan antara kualitas air dan ukuran ikan terhadap bioakumulasi logam timbal ditemukan pada 65,89% ukuran ikan, pH 53,09%, dan suhu 9,08%. Ikan goby di danau Danau Tempe mengandung Pb namun belum melebihi ambang batas dan faktor yang paling berkontribusi terhadap peningkatan logam berat timbal (Pb) adalah ukuran ikan. ABSTRACT The present study aims to determine the heavy metal level of lead (Pb) and the relationship between water quality and fish size on Goby Glossogobius giuris. Sampling was carried out from June to July 2021 in Tempe Lake, Wajo, Soppeng, and Sidrap Regency. Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS) method was applied for determining the heavy metal level. The results showed that the highest lead level was at 0.055 ppm obtained from Soppeng sample, followed by Wajo Regency (0.042 ppm), and the lowest was at 0.035 ppm in Sidrap Regency. The lead level at each sampling station has not exceeded the Indonesian National Standards threshold of 0.3 ppm for and even at the very minimum level, it was not classified as polluted by lead metal. The relationship between water quality and fish size on the bioaccumulation of lead metal was found at 65.89%, pH 53.09%, and temperature 9.08%. The goby fish in lake Lake Tempe contained Pb but it had not yet exceeded the threshold and the most contributing factor to the increase in the heavy metal lead (Pb) was fish size.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menentukan strategi pengembangan perikanan dan pemasaran gurita di Makassar. Metode survey dilakukan untuk pengumpulan data. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan pendekatan SWOT (Strengths Weaknesses Opportunities Threats). Hasil penelitian mendapatkan 4 (empat) strategi pengembangan perikanan dan pemasaran gurita, yakni 1) Strategi SO dengan perluasan daerah penangkapan dengan sistem informasi yang baik dan peningkatan produksi tangkapan yang sesuai dengan permintaan pasar, 2) Strategi ST melalui penyelesaian potensi konflik dan implementasi peraturan serta persyaratan ekspor, 3) Strategi WO dengan opsi peningkatan akses permodalan, akses informasi, peningkatan pengetahuan, ketrampilan, kemampuan melakukan penanganan hasil tangkapan serta pemasaran. 4) Strategi WT melalui perluasan wilayah pemasaran dan perbaikan teknologi pengelolaan. ABSTRACT The present study aims to determine the strategy for fishery development and marketing of octopus commodity in Makassar. A survey Method was applied for data collection. A SWOT (Strengths Weaknesses Opportunities Threats) approach was performed for data analysis. The results suggested four strategies for developing fisheries and octopus marketing, namely 1) SO strategy by expanding fishing areas with a good information system and increasing catch production in accordance with market demand, 2) ST strategy through resolving potential conflicts and implementing regulations and export requirements, 3) WO strategy with options to increase access to capital, information, knowledge, skills and marketing. 4) WT strategy through expansion of marketing area and improvement of management technology.

Abstract

Pakan merupakan kompenen utama dengan biaya paling mahal dalam budidaya ikan secara intensif. Oleh sebab itu, dicari alternatif pakan murah dengan teknologi sederhana untuk menekan biaya operasinal pakan. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui waktu efektif yang dibutuhkan untuk fermentasi limbah ampas tahu dan isi perut ikan tongkol krai (Auxis thazard) dan mengetahui koloni bakteri. Penelitian dilaksanakan Juni sampai Juli 2021 di Balai Penerapan Mutu Produk Perikanan (BPMPP) Makassar. Metode penelitian ini bersifat eksperimental yaitu fermentasi limbah ampas tahu dan isi perut ikan tongkol selama 4, 8 dan 12 hari dengan perbandingan 1:1 (isi perut ikan tongkol: ampas tahu). Hasil fermentasi kemudian dilakukan perhitungan koloni bakteri menggunakan ALT. Hasil penelitian ALT menunjukkan jumlah bakteri pada fermentasi ampas tahu dengan isi perut ikan tongkol yakni 3.7x106 koloni/g - 5.4x106 Koloni/g pada ikan kecil, 4.2x105 koloni/g - 22.3x105 koloni/g pada ikan sedang, dan 4.2x105 koloni/g - 22.3x105 koloni/g pada ikan besar. Bahwa waktu fermentasi ampas tahu dengan isi perut ikan tongkol berkontribusi terhadap peningkatan jumlah total bakteri. A B S T R A C T Feed is the main component with the most expensive cost in intensive fish farming. Therefore, it is necessary to look for cheap feed alternatives with simple technology to reduce feed operational costs. This study aims to determine the effective time required for fermentation of tofu waste and entrails of tuna krai (Auxis thazard) and to determine bacterial colonies. The research was carried out from June to July 2021 at the Makassar Fishery Product Quality Application Center. This research method is experimental, namely the fermentation of tofu waste and tuna entrails for 4, 8, and 12 days with a ratio of 1:1 (tofu dregs: tuna stomach contents). The results of the fermentation were then calculated using ALT. The results of the ALT study showed that the number of bacteria in tofu dregs fermentation with tuna stomach contents was 3.7x106 colonies/g - 5.4x106 Colonies/g in small fish, 4.2x105 colonies/g - 22.3x105 colonies/g in medium fish, and 4.2x105 colonies. /g - 22.3x105 colonies/g in large fish. That the fermentation time of tofu dregs with tuna stomach contents contributed to the increase in the total number of bacteria.

Abstract

The price of Rabbitfish fish at the consumer level for each region is quite different. This study aims to analyze distribution patterns and marketing margins of Rabbitfish fish. This research is classified as a qualitative type with a survey method by distributing questionnaires. Respondents consisted of 20 fishermen, 20 collectors, 15 retailers and 5 consumers and 5 restaurants. The results of this study indicate that there are four distribution patterns, namely (1) direct fishermen to final consumers, (2) fishermen to collectors to final consumers, (3) fishermen to collectors, to retailers to final consumers and (4) fishermen to collectors, to wholesalers, to retailers, to final consumers. The marketing margin on the first marketing channel is IDR 5,000/kg, the second is IDR 5,000/kg, the third is IDR 15,000/kg and the fourth is IDR. 20,000/kg. The longer the marketing channel, the higher the margin earned.

Abstract

Seaweed is an export commodity so it requires continuous production to ensure the sustainability of raw materials. This study aims to analyze the sensitivity of seaweed production and prices at the cultivator level in Nunukan District, North Kalimantan. This research is classified as a type of quantitative research with observation methods through interviews and distribution of questionnaires to seaweed cultivators. The variables analyzed are costs and income at the cultivator level, through a farmer's financial feasibility analysis based on the parameters NPV, IRR, Net B/C. Respondents in this study were seaweed cultivators. The results showed that the average dry seaweed production in 1 year was 16,424 kg with an average price of Rp. 20,667 and annual revenue of Rp. 337,683,200. This can be seen from the NPV value obtained, which is Rp. 317,970,947, - at the current bank interest rate of 7%. While the Net B/C obtained is 2.4, the IRR value is 46.0%, and the Payback Period is 8 months 15 days, as an indicator that seaweed cultivation is feasible to develop. Based on sensitivity analysis data for seaweed cultivation, if with constant production, production costs increase by 5%, an NPV value of 253,390,476 is obtained, a B/C ratio of 2.1 with an IRR of 36.98%. The NPV and B/C ratio parameters show that this business is feasible to continue and in terms of IRR the business has a sustainable opportunity.

Abstract

Blue swimming crab is one of the raw materials for fishery products which is exported to other countries so that it is suspected to have caused an increase in demand and a high intensity of fishing in nature. This study aims to analyze the feasibility of the size of the crab based on the width of the carapace and the weight of the crab as an export raw material at the processing site. The research was carried out from February to April 2023 in Bone Regency. This research is a type of qualitative research with a survey method. The results showed that the number of crabs that were successfully measured was 561 individuals with details of 292 males and 269 females with an overall carapace width size distribution ranging from 114.1 to 227.0 mm (142.74 ± 13.29 mm) and weights ranging from 103.7-863.7 g (198.48 ± 55.57g). Male carapace width 114.1-204.3 mm (141.35 ± 12.36 mm) and weight ranges from 103.7 to 633.7 g (195.38 ± 46.11g) and females with carapace width ranging from 119.0 -227.0 mm (143.16 ± 14.24 mm) and a weight ranging from 113.7 to 863.7 g (128.14 ± 64.20 g). 98.57% of the crab catches that entered the crab processing site for export raw materials met the carapace width requirements and 87.70% met the weight requirements based on the Regulations of the Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries of the Republic of Indonesia number 17 of 2021 and number 16 of 2022.

Abstract

Seaweed is a superior commodity for aquaculture and is a raw material for export. Sustainability of exports requires sustainable seaweed production to ensure the sustainability of raw materials to fulfil market demand from buyers and consumers. In this regard, this research aims to analyze the supply chain, margins and marketing efficiency of Kappaphycus alvarezii seaweed cultivated by the community in Nunukan District, North Kalimantan. This research is classified as a quantitative type of research with a survey method using an interview method through the distribution of questionnaires to seaweed business actors. The results of the research show that information was obtained about the Kappaphycus alvarezii seaweed supply chain through three marketing channels, namely (1) channels from seaweed farmers to collectors and consumers, (2) channels from seaweed farmers to consumers and (3) channels from collectors to consumers . Seaweed production produced by farmers does not have a minimum production quantity standard so that the seaweed produced can be sold at any time to collectors according to a predetermined price agreement. Meanwhile, there are differences in seaweed marketing margins between respondents in the marketing network, and price differences at the collector level cause price differences at the consumer level. The resulting marketing efficiency is at an efficient level (≤ 50%). Seaweed marketing in Nunukan is classified as efficient because the share received by seaweed farmers as producers is below 50%. The efficiency of seaweed marketing depends on the level of marketing margin and the share received by seaweed farmers.

Abstract

Analysis of the relationship between carrageenan content of seaweed (Kappaphycus alvarezii Doty, 1986) with water quality in the Makassar Strait) Kappaphycus alvarezii seaweed is experiencing high demand and supply as an industrial raw material, so it is important to analyze its carrageenan content. This study aims to analyze the carrageenan content of Kappaphycus alvarezii seaweed cultivated in estuaries, around corals and the open sea. This research is classified as a type of quantitative research with observation methods. The research was conducted from September to October 2022 in the waters of the Makassar Strait. The results showed that the carrageenan content of red seaweed Kappaphycus alvarezii as a whole ranged from 53.05 to 58.37% (55.84 ± 1.57%) with details of 55.52 ± 0.242% for carrageenan content in samples from the estuary, 55.57 ± 2.671% for the area around the reef and 56.43 ± 1.388% for the open sea. The highest carrageenan content of Kappaphycus alvarezii seaweed was obtained in the high seas cultivation areas.

Abstract

The use of vermiculated spinefoot has been carried out intensively so that it is suspected to have caused phenotypic changes. The objective of research to identify phenotypic characteristics which include morphometrics and meristics. This research was conducted February to April 2022 using a survey method in the Pangkep waters of the Makassar Strait. The samples identified were 45 individuals from five places namely the islands of Sabangko, Salemo, Sagara, Bangko-Bangkoang and Laiya. Each island identified nine fish with representation of small, medium and large sizes. Identification of morphometric characteristics was carried out on 29 parameters, while meristic characteristics on the number of strong and weak rays of the dorsal, pectoral, abdominal and anal fins. Data were analyzed using principal components and cluster analysis. The results showed that the main and very strong characteristics of the vermiculated spinefoot from the five sampling locations were anal fin base length, pelvic fin base length, head length and head width, the length of the longest anal fin rays for all sizes. The morphometric characteristics of the five islands obtained varied conditions with two morphometric groups namely the small and medium size vermiculated spinefoot fish group and the large vermiculated spinefoot fish group. The meristic characteristics of the dorsal, pectoral, pelvic and anal fins of the five islands are relatively the same. Based on the morphometric characteristics, vermiculated spinefoot fish should be managed separately, namely small and medium sized fish with the same management model, while large sized fish should be managed separately.
