Abstract

This study aims to develop the teacher's perceptions of critical thinking in science learning in elementary schools. The samples in this study were 50 elementary school teachers in Central Java. Selection of samples employed convenience sampling. The instruments in this study used a modified Likert Scale. The validity tests used in this research were content validity and construct validity. Content validity was measured using CVR (Content Validity Ratio) and construct validity was measured using EFA (Exploratory Factor Analysis). By using SPSS, reliability estimation was obtained with  the Cronbach Alpha formula 0.83 and it can be stated that the instruments for evaluating teacher perceptions of critical thinking in science learning are reliable.

Abstract

The violence that occurs in the school is one of the problems that is still going on. The school and other stakeholders need to make efforts to minimize the occurrence of violence. So that, the children can study safely and comfortably in school. This research aimed to describe a child-friendly school environment in elementary school. The research procedure used qualitative phenomenological approach. The data collection technique was done by using observation method, interview, and documentation. With a child-friendly school environment, students will feel safe, comfortable, and prosperous.  Based on this study results concluded that to create a child-friendly school environment is to create a harmonious social environment of the school, which is a good relationship between the school community, parents of students as well as with other stakeholders. Then, it needs to pay attention to the physical environment of the school, which is related to the condition of school buildings, as well as school infrastructure that supports child-friendly school environment should be secured and can fulfill the students needs

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuktikan dimensi pendidikan karakter anak usia dini terkait dengan hubungan ketuhanan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif. Subjek penelitian sebanyak 451 anak yang berasal dari 26 lembaga PAUD di wilayah Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. Teknik pengumpulan datanya menggunakan kuesioner. Analisis data menggunakan confirmatory factor analysis second order. Kriteria yang digunakan untuk menyatakan model konstruk fit (kecocokan model) adalah absolute fit indices, incremental fit indicies, dan persimonius. Hasil penelitian ini juga menunjukan bahwa dimensi karakter anak usia dini yang berkaitan dengan hubungan ketuhanan terdiri atas: keyakinan/akidah, rajin beribadah, sikap ikhlas bertindak, dan nilai budi pekerti/akhlakul karimah. Nilai sikap ikhlas bertindak merupakan faktor dominan sedangkan nilai budi pekerti/akhlakul karimah merupakan faktor yang kurang dominan pada pendidikan karakter anak usia dini di PAUD yang ada di Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. Semua indikator tersebut memberikan kontribusi terhadap sikap atau perilaku anak terkait dengan hubungan ketuhanan.DIMENSIONS OF EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION CHARACTERS RELATED TO GOD’S RELATIONSHIPThis study aims to examine the dimensions of early childhood character education related to the divine relationship. This study method used was quantitative research. The research subjects were 451 kids from 26 preschool institutions in the Yogyakarta. The data were collected using questionnaire. The data analysis used second order confirmatory factor analysis. The criteria used to state the construct fit model were absolute fit indices, incremental fit indicies, and persimonius. The results show that the dimensions of early childhood character related to the divine relationship consist of: belief / faith, the obidience in worship, sincere action, and noble character . The value of sincere action is the dominant factor, while the noble character is a less dominant factor in early childhood character education in preschool in Yogyakarta. All of these indicators contribute to children's attitudes or behaviors related to divine relationships.

Abstract

Slow learners also carry out the implementation of online learning at inclusive elementary schools. Online learning conditions are different from face-to-face learning, and it becomes a challenge for teachers to deliver mathematics learning for slow learner students. Learning mathematics is a learning that is considered difficult by slow learner students. It is because slow learner students have limited cognitive abilities and understanding of symbols, abstracts, and concepts. This study aimed to determine the obstacles in the implementation of mathematics learning, which includes the planning, implementation, and assessment stages for slow learner students at inclusive elementary schools. This research is qualitative research with a descriptive approach, and the subjects were ten inclusive elementary school class teachers in Sleman. The data were collected by interview and analyzed with the help of Atlas.ti software. Based on the analysis results, teachers experienced barriers in implementing online learning. The teacher experienced barriers in planning learning media and limited learning resources specifically for slow learner students at the planning stage. The most significant barriers come from the students' condition at the implementation stage, and another barrier comes from parents and teachers. Furthermore, the barriers in the assessment stage included the limitations of distance and time, the validity of the answers, student independence, and decreased enthusiasm of students for working.

Abstract

This ariticle presents studies about the Strengthening Character Education policy and practised in Kampung Cyber Yogyakarta's information society. The aim of this research was to describe how character education policy materializes in Kampung Cyber community's efforts in developing character education programs. The research was a qualitative research with a case study approach. The data were obtained through interviews, observation and documentation in the field directly. The results were divided into two things according to the main study. First, related to the dimensions and second related to the results of character education development in Kampung Cyber. The results show that the development of character education in Kampung Cyber covered five primary characters and targeted three fundamental problems: foundational problems, structural problems and operational problems. In general, the product of character education in Kampung Cyber was positive, because they can increase social-communal awareness, improve religious practice, and the synergy of character education and its natural habituation. Abstract

Penderita Diabetes Melitus Tipe 2 (DM tipe 2) memiliki risiko tinggi mengalami hipertensi. Latihan fisik diketahui dapat megontrol penderita DM tipe 2 dengan hipertensi melalui perbaikan system kardiovaskuler. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah sekali latihan ergocycle berefek terhadap penurunan tekanan darah penderita DM tipe 2. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian pre-experimental dengan desain satu kelompok, dengan tes awal, saat latihan dan tes akhir. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah anggota Persadia RS Jogja. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 10 orang. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif kuantitatif dan uji t dengan taraf signifikansi 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sekali latihan ergocycle tidak berefek signifikan dalam menurunkan tekanan darah penderita DM tipe 2 (p<0,05). Namun secara tren menunjukkan penurunan tekanan darah rata-rata sebelum dan sesudah melakukan latihan, tekanan sistolik turun sebesar 8,4 mmHg dan diastolic turun sebesar 2,5 mmHg.

Abstract

For rural areas in Indonesia where glucose is not always available a trial has been done to prevent severe dehydration and death from diarrhea with an oral electrolyte solution without glucose.The efficacy of oral electrolyte solution without glucose was not different from oral glucose electrolyte solution in a double blind study on 60 children with mild and moderate dehydration due to diarrhea.Electrolyte solution without glucose can act as a substitute for glucose electrolyte solution in the therapy of mild and moderate dehydration due to diarrhea.

Abstract

This paper reports 54 cases of congenital heart disease which were diagnosed by simple methods, without cathetherisation and Angiocardiography. These consisted of : 1). 37% Ventricular septal defect. 2). 24% Atrial Septal defect, second type. 3). 11,11% Patent Ductus Arteriosus Botalli. 4). 9% Tetralogy of Fallot. 5). 7,5% Stenosis pulmonalis. 6). 3,7% Atrial septal defect primary type. 7). 1,85% Aorta stenosis. 8). 2% Others. Early signs and symptoms were: frequent cough, growth retardation, dyspnoe d'effort, Electrocardiographic and Rontgenologic abnormalities. With simple examinations we can almost accurately diagnose congenital heart disease. We suggest to build up more cardiac centres to overcome congenital heart disease problems.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan strategi yang dapat digunakan Taman Kanak-Kanak (TK) dalam masa pandemic agar kegiatan dapat berjalan dengan maksimal. Pada penelitian ini dipaparkan hal-hal yang dapat dilakukan Taman Kanak-Kanak seperti, kegiatan belajar, kerjasama dengan orangtua, metode dan strategi pembelajaran yang diterapkan, serta media yang digunakan dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar di masa pandemic. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan melakukan survei kepada 35 orang guru dan kepala Taman Kanak-kanak di Kecamatan Nanga Pinoh. Survei dilakukan dengan menyebarkan angket melalui aplikasi perpesanan online WhatsApp selama kurang lebih dua bulan. Berdasarkan hasil temuan penelitian strategi yang diterapkan sekolah yaitu: (1) Kepala Taman Kanak-Kanak menjalankan perannya sebagai pemimpin, manajer, administrator, supervisor, educator, innovator, dan motivator. (2) guru mengemas pembelajaran secara bervariasi mulai dari bentuk pembelajaran yang sesuai, memperhatikan kebutuhan anak, kegiatan yang melatih kemandirian anak, menggunakan media yang sesuai, menggunakan metode yang beragam, dan menjalin kerja sama dengan orang tua.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan berbagai tantangan yang dihadapi oleh guru dan orang tua dalam mendampingi kegiatan Belajar Dari Rumah (BDR) anak usia 4-6 tahun pada masa pandemi Covid-19. Penelitian ini dianalisis menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus, melibatkan 6 subjek terdiri dari 3 guru dan 3 orang tua anak usia 4-6 tahun di Kabupaten Bantul. Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik wawancara dan dokumentasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang dilakukan, menunjukkan bahwa dari kegiatan belajar dari rumah guru mendapatkan beberapa tantangan, diantaranya guru harus menyiapkan kegiatan yang menarik dan menyesuaikan bahan kegiatan di sekitar anak, stand by memantau kegiatan yang dilakukan anak melalui whatsapp, dan penilaian hanya melalui video/foto. Tantangan yang dihadapi orang tua dalam mendampingi anak belajar diantaranya harus mengetahui dan mengatasi mood belajar anak, mengajak anak melakukan kegiatan belajar dengan suasana yang menyenangkan, serta dapat membagi waktu antara pekerjaan dan mendampingi anak belajar.
