Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to see whether the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model using video assistance as a learning media can improve students' critical thinking skills in class X with global warming material at SMAN 2 Pare. This study used the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method using the Kemmis and Taggart spiral scheme models which is conducted in two cycles where each cycle consisted of 4 stages, planning, action, observation and reflection. Data collection was carried out by the test method. Data analysis techniques in this study used quantitative data analysis. The results of the study show that the application of Problem Based Learning (PBL) with video can improve students' critical thinking skills. This can be proven by the acquisition of an average critical thinking indicator score, which initially in cycle 1 was only 71 percent in the good category, increasing in cycle 2 to 83 percent in the very good category. Judging from the learning completeness of students, students' critical thinking skills also increased from cycle 1 by 81 percent to 94 percent in cycle 2. The percentage of students' classical learning completeness from cycle 1 to cycle 2 increased by 13 percent. Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat apakah model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) dengan menggunakan bantuan video sebagai media pembelajaran dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik pada materi pemanasan global kelas X di SMAN 2 Pare. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan menggunakan model skema spiral Kemmis dan Taggart yang dilakukan dalam dua siklus dimana setiap siklusnya terdiri yang terdiri dari 4 tahapan yaitu perencanaan, tindakan, pengamatan dan refleksi. Pengumpulan ata dilakukan dengan metode tes. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan analisis data kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan PBL dengan bantuan video dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik. Hal ini dapat dibuktikan dengan perolehan nilai rata-rata indikator berpikir kritis yang awalnya pada siklus 1 hanya sebesar 71 persen dengan kategori baik meningkat pada siklus 2 menjadi 83 persen dengan kategori sangat baik. Dilihat dari ketuntasan belajar peserta didik, kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik juga meningkat dari dari siklus 1 sebesar 81 persen meningkat menjadi 94 persen pada siklus 2. Persentase Ketuntasan belajar klasikal peserta didik dari siklus 1 ke siklus 2 tersebut meningkat sebesar 13 persen.

Abstract

Abstract: This research aims to enhance the students' comprehension and engagement on the Sound Waves and Light Waves, using the Problem-based Learning (PBL) method combined with the learning style-integrated worksheet. This research applies Classroom Action Reaearch (CAR) as the method, in line with Kemmis and Mc Taggart in two cycles in which are planning, action I, observing I, reflecting I, planning, action II, observing II, and reflecting II. The subject of this study are 35 students, 13 male and 22 female. The data were obtained by using observation, two tiers test, and documentation. The result shows as follows: 1) The students' physics comprehension increases. The average percentage of the students comprehension from the cycle I and cycle II are 84.1 percent and 84.3 percent, the misconception are 11.3 percent and 11.6 percent, while the incomprehensive are 4.4 percent and 4.1 percent. The students' comprehension development are picturized in the Comprehend category, where they have obtained 84 percent (more than the minimum criteria 80.2). The students' engagement from cycle I and cycle II are 83.9 percent (very active) and 91.8 percent (very active). This shows that there is the increase of the students' comprehension and engagement. Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan penguasaan konsep dan keaktifan siswa materi gelombang bunyi dan cahaya, dengan menggunakan model PBL dan lkpd terintegrasi gaya belajar. Jenis penelitian menggunakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas yang mengikuti model Kemmis dan Mc Taggart dalam dua siklus dengan tahap perencanann awal, pelaksanaan I. Pengamatan I, refleksi I, perencanaan hasil refleksi, pelaksanaan II, pengamatan II dan refleksi II. Subjek penelitian sebanyak 35 siswa terdiri 13 laki-laki dan 22 perempuan. Pengumpulan data dengan menggunakan metode observasi, tes pilihan ganda beralasan (two tiers), dan dokumentasi. Hasil pelaksanaan tindakan pembelajaran fisika dengan model PBL berbantuan lkpd terintegrasi gaya belajar bahwa: 1) Penguasaan konsep fisika siswa mengalami meningkat. Persentaseata-rata penguasaan konsep fisika siswa dengan pembelajaran PBL dari siklus I dan siklus II kategori paham berturut- turut adalah 84,1 persen dan 84,3 persen, kategori miskonsepsi berturut-turut adalah 11,3 persen dan 11,6 dan kategori tidak paham sebesar 4,4 persen dan 4,1 persen. Penguasaan konsep siswa mengalami peningkatan ditunjukkan pada kategori paham dimana mencapai 84 persen sudah diatas nilai minimum 80. 2) Persentase kekatifan siswa pada siklus I s.d. siklus II berturut-turut 83,9 persen (sangat aktif) dan 91,8 persen (sangat aktif). Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan penguasaan konsep dan keaktifan saat siklus I dan II.

Abstract

Abstract: This research aims to analyze the implementation of problem-based learning model to improve student learning outcomes in class X-6 at SMAN 2 Pare. The research conducted was a type of classroom action research (PTK) which was conducted during the second cycle. PTK has stages including: planning, implementing actions, observation, evaluation, and reflection. Data collection techniques obtained through tests. The tests carried out function to find out the learning outcomes of students on global warming material, the greenhouse effect sub-material and activities and solutions related to global warming. The test technique used in this study is the test at the end of learning in both cycles I and II. The data collection instrument in this research was in the form of a cognitive aspect test where this test was in the form of multiple choice questions. The analysis technique used is qualitative analysis techniques related to learning outcomes. Based on the results of the research, the data obtained in the pre-cycle obtained the results of the class average score of 50 and classical learning mastery of 13.89 percent, cycle I obtained the average value of 73 and classical learning mastery of 44.44 percent, and cycle II the class average score was 87 and the classical learning mastery was 94.44 percent. From these data it can be seen that the learning outcomes of students have increased in each cycle. In this research cycle III was not carried out, this was because the classical learning mastery score obtained in cycle II was greater than equal to 75 percent, which was 94.44 percent. From these results it can be concluded that the implementation of problem-based learning models can improve student learning outcomes. Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis keterlaksanaan model pembelajaran problem based learning untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik kelas X-6 di SMAN 2 Pare. Penelitian yang dilakukan merupakan jenis penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang dilakukan selama II siklus. PTK ini memiliki tahapan diantaranya: perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, evaluasi, serta refleksi. Teknik pengumpulan data diperoleh melalui tes. Tes yang dilakukan berfungsi untuk mengetahui hasil belajar peserta didik pada materi pemanasan global sub materi efek rumah kaca dan aktivitas serta solusi terkait dengan pemanasan global. Teknik tes yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yakni tes diakhir pembelajaran baik pada siklus I maupun II. Instrumen pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini berupa tes aspek kognitif dimana tes ini berupa soal pilihan ganda. Teknik analisis yang digunakan yakni teknik analisis kualitatif terkait dengan hasil belajar. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh data pada pra siklus didapatkan hasil nilai rata-rata kelas yakni 50 dan ketuntasan belajar klasikal sebesar 13,89 persen, siklus I didapatkan hasil nilai rata-rata yakni 73 dan ketuntasan belajar klasikal sebesar 44,44 persen, serta siklus II didapatkan hasil nilai rata-rata kelas yakni 87 dan ketuntasan belajar klasikal sebesar 94,44 persen. Dari data tersebut dapat diketahui bahwa hasil belajar peserta didik mengalami peningkatan pada setiap siklus. Dalam penelitian ini siklus III tidak dilakukan, hal ini dikarenakan nilai ketuntasan belajar klasikal yang didapatkan pada siklus II lebih dari sama dengan 75 persen yakni sebesar 94,44 persen. Dari hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa implementasi model pembelajaran problem based learning dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik.

Abstract

A systematic study on the development of the assessment instrument of the concept of kinematics which is one of the basic concepts of physics has not yet been conducted. This systematic study reported the characteristics, quality, effectiveness, and efficiency of the instrument assessment regarding the concept of kinematics. This systematic review method has used a systematic approach based on the practical guidelines of systematic reviews by Petticrew and Roberts and has used PRISMA diagrams for the process of searching and selecting articles, who reviewed 12 articles published between 1985 and 2021. The research findings show that the instrument of concept mastery of kinematics using multiple-choice formats, while others combine the true-false and multiple-choice formats. Almost all instruments of mastery of the concept of widely used kinematics have reported validity assessment (content validity, construct validity) and internal consistency reliability. However, predictive validity, discriminatory validity, and temporal stability reliability have not been reported. Other results indicate that the development of further assessments must pay attention to five important aspects: the validity and reliability of instruments, the scopes and specificity of the concept of kinematics, the conformity with the intellectual level of students, the effectiveness and efficiency of instrument assessment, and the fulfillment of research gaps. This study can help educators and researchers choose and develop an appropriate instrument assessment to reveal students’ understanding of the concept of kinematics.

Abstract

This research aims to develop an instrument for assessing understanding distance and displacement concepts. Distance and Displacement Inventory (DDI) is an instrument constructed in multi-representations, including picture, table, graphic, mathematical, and verbal representations. This instrument is in multiple-choice format with ten questions to assess students' understanding of distance traveled and displacement. DDI development refers to R&D design by Borg&Gall and test development flowchart by Beichner. DDI was applied to 357 students in Indonesia who had taken introductory physics courses. Student answers were analyzed to determine the DDI's psychometric properties and structural analysis. The analysis results show that the DDI is adequate for assessing students' understanding of travel distance and displacement concepts. Meanwhile, the structural analysis of students' knowledge results shows that students have different perceptions of each question item according to their representation. Furthermore, students who understand the concept of distance traveled and displacement in one representation may need help understanding it correctly in another representation. This research implies the necessity of designing learning designs based on multi-representations and teaching students about the changes between these representations.

Abstract

This service aims to improve the economy and independence of the creative industries of people with disabilities. The creative industry is a printing and screen printing business owned by partners, namely people with disabilities, especially people who are deaf or hard of hearing and speech impaired. People with disabilities generally find it challenging to get access to funds because their limitations make it difficult to gain trust from the industry. The method offered in implementing this service is transferring science and technology for business development through discussions, guidance, sewing t-shirts and bags, marketing management training, and partner mentoring. Results from questionnaires and partner interviews show that understanding, skills, independence, and the number of products made have increased. In real terms, this service program has succeeded in increasing the turnover of partners. This phenomenon is because partners can receive screen printing and sewing totes and mug accessories simultaneously without going from second-hand (totes and accessories are no longer ordered by other tailors). Thus, this service can help the creative industries of people with hearing and speech impairments become more independent in their society.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan peningkatan motivasi belajar dan pemahaman konsep dengan menerapkan model Discovery Learning. Subjek dalam peneltian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII SMPN 08 Poco Ranaka Kabupaten Manggarai Timur, Nusa Tenggara Timur, yang berjumlah 30 orang. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tidakan kelas (PTK) dengan menggunakan dua siklus. Materi pada penelitian ini adalah materi Usaha dan Pesawat sederhana pada materi Fisika SMP. Instrumen motivasi dikembangkan dalam bentuk observasi sedangkan instrumen pemahaman konsep dalam bentuk tes. Data dianalisis menggunakan tiga jalur kegitan yaitu redukasi data, penyajian data dan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan adanya peningkatan motivasi belajar dari siklus I ke siklus II, rata-rata sebesar 19,6%, sedangkan peningkatan dari kondisi awal tantang pemahaman konsep sebesar 15,5%. Hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan peningkatan siswa yang mencapai ketuntasan (KKM) dari kondisi awal 39,4% menjadi 88,2% pada siklus II. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah model discovery learning dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajaran dan pemahaman konsep siswa kelas VIII SMPN 08 Poco Ranaka.

Abstract

Problem-solving is one of the abilities students must master when learning physics. Teachers must try to find solutions to improve their students' problem-solving abilities. This research aims to explore students' problem-solving abilities regarding work and energy concepts and determine improvements and differences in students' problem-solving abilities regarding work and energy material by applying the Hybrid Problem-Based Learning model with formative assessments. This research method uses a mixed-method approach with an embedded experimental design. The research sample consisted of 35 high school students. Qualitative and quantitative data were analyzed simultaneously. Qualitative data was analyzed using open coding and generalization, while quantitative data was analyzed using the n-gain score test. The results of the quantitative analysis show that students' problem-solving abilities increased from an average of 38.74 to 80.65. Calculating the n-gain value obtained a score of 0.68, which indicates that hybrid problem-based learning with formative assessment effectively improves students' problem-solving abilities regarding the concepts of work and energy. The results of the qualitative analysis revealed students' difficulties in solving problems. Some of the challenges found include 1) students needing help translating test items into graphic representation, 2) students needing help determining the specific application of physics, and 3) some students still needing help carrying out mathematical procedures. Teachers can use the findings of this research as a basis for designing and planning learning in the classroom to improve student's problem-solving abilities

Abstract

Argumentation abilities are critical for students to develop in physics learning, yet most studies focus on students outside pesantren. This research investigates the argumentation abilities of pesantren students on the topics of temperature and heat. The study employs a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest approach. The instrument used is a test comprising six essay questions assessing argumentation abilities. The data in this study were examined using a paired sample t-test, effect size calculation, and N-gain analysis to assess changes in students' argumentation abilities. The findings demonstrated a significant enhancement in students' argumentation abilities following the implementation of the ALIVP learning model. The effect size analysis indicated a very large impact, while the N-gain results classified the improvement as high. A detailed examination of argumentation indicators revealed that the highest increase occurred in claim accuracy, followed by the completeness and credibility of data, strength of backing, and strength of evidence. These findings suggest that the ALIVP model successfully enhances the argumentation abilities of pesantren students in physics learning, bridging a gap in current research. This study underscores the potential of integrating argumentation-focused learning models in pesantren to foster critical thinking in scientific contexts.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: 1) kualitas proses penerapan model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing berbasis etnosains untuk eksplorasi pemahaman konsep dan meningkatkan prestasi belajar siswa, 2) pemahaman konsep siswa dengan menggunakan penerapan model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing, 3) peningkatan prestasi belajar siswa dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) dengan rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah observasi, tes pilihan ganda dan essay. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di salah satu SMP swasta di kota Malang pada semester genap tahun ajaran 2022/2023. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII SMP. Teknik pengambilan data menggunakan tes pemahaman konsep dan prestasi belajar siswa. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing berbasis Etnosains ini dapat meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran, pemahaman konsep dan prestasi belajar siswa.
