Abstract

Abstract

The participatory ergonomics approach is a process that involves people who aim to explore in depth the aspects that influence the problems faced in a group. Nurses are a professional group of health workers who have a high potential for experiencing musculoskeletal disorders as a result of manual activities. Nurse activities such as lifting, pushing and moving patients in an effort to provide nursing care require great energy. This research is an explorative study with a cross-sectional study design that aims to explore problems and conduct studies based on eight ergonomic aspects of providing nursing care. The research was conducted at RSU (General Hospital) Bangli with 30 respondents as implementing nurses who worked in services. Focus Group Discussion (FGD) is a method used to obtain information about ergonomic aspects that have the potential to cause complaints to nurses in providing nursing care. The instrument used in this research is the steps of the workshop implementation from Manuaba. Problem analysis is carried out then prioritized based on Urgent, Important and essential. Six (6) issues were raised in the discussion, including; work attitudes, work facilities, workload, nutrition, work environment, information conditions and social conditions. Based on the priority scale, the improvement of work attitudes is the top priority to be addressed and improvement suggestions in the form of socializing ergonomic work postures to nurses at RSUD (General Hospital) Bangli. This research was carried out up to the proposed improvement stage, so that in further research the implementation stage could be carried out in order that an evaluation of the effectiveness of the proposed improvements could be carried out. Further research can be focused on proposed improvements for aspects that still have potential hazards apart from aspects of work attitude that have been discussed in this study.

Abstract

Fluids and electrolytes are one of the basic human needs. Imbalance of fluids and electrolytes in the body can cause disturbances in various body systems. Nurses play a major role in fluid and electrolyte management of patients. Proper management will provide optimal results for the patient. This study aims to determine the correlation between nurses’ competence (knowledge, attitude, practice) and the ability to perform fluid- and electrolyte-related nursing diagnoses. This cross-sectional research analysed data collected using questionnaires from July to August 2021. The survey involved 65 nurses at Bangli Hospital, asking about socio-demographics, competence proxied by knowledge, attitude, and practice, and the ability to perform patients' fluid- and electrolyte-related diagnoses. Data were analysed using a Spearman Rank. The average value of knowledge was 16.46 (score 0-20), attitude 43.06 (score 10-50), practice 46.50 (score 10-50), and the average rating of the ability to perform diagnoses was 14.06 (score 5-20). The Spearman Rank test results show that knowledge correlates to the ability to perform diagnoses with a p-value of 0.57, attitude p= 0.04, r= 0, 251, and practice p= 0.75. The study results show a positive correlation between competence and the ability to perform diagnoses. Abstract

The right perception of HIV-AIDS by the community of tourist villages can lead to the motivation to identify their HIV status. A tourist village has zero case of HIV-AIDS will have a positive impact on the health conditions of the tourist village community and increase in tourist visits. This study aims to determine the correlation between HIV-AIDS perceptions and the motivation for HIV testing in the tourist village community of Sayan Ubud, Bali. Descriptive correlation design with a cross-sectional approach was used in this study. The sample size was 353 respondents who were taken by proportionate random sampling. Spearman rank correlation test was used for data analysis. The result showed a correlated HIV-AIDS perception and HIV testing motivation (p=0.000; r=0.611). A better perception of HIV-AIDS leads to increased HIV testing motivation in the community. This study can be used as basic data in the preventive programme of new HIV cases through HIV testing services. Thus, the Sayan Ubud tourist village community can identify their HIV status without any negative stigma.
