Abstract

Reading comprehension is a critical skill for academic success and lifelong learning. Direct instruction methods have gained attention for their effectiveness in improving reading comprehension outcomes among high school students. This study explores the significance of elevating reading comprehension in tenth grade through direct methods. The research design employed was collaborative Classroom Action Research (CAR), with the researcher serving as the observer while the classroom English teacher conducted the teaching and learning activities. The subjects of this research were tenth grade students of SMAN 3 Kefamenanu in the 2023/2024 academic year, consisting of 25 students: 9 males and 16 females. Data analysis involved both qualitative and quantitative techniques. Thematic analysis was used to evaluate the instructional strategies and their efficacy in enhancing reading comprehension. The results showed that all 25 students (100%) scored higher than the minimal passing grade of 76. Teaching students to employ these strategies consistently can significantly improve their reading comprehension skills, leading to better academic performance and a greater ability to engage with complex texts throughout their lives.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji nilai-nilai pendidikan Islam yang terkandung dalam peristiwa kelahiran Nabi Muhammad SAW, yang tidak hanya merupakan momen historis, tetapi juga sarat dengan pesan moral dan edukatif yang relevan bagi pembentukan karakter umat Islam. Dengan menggunakan metode studi pustaka (library research), penelitian ini menelaah berbagai sumber literatur klasik dan kontemporer yang membahas sejarah kelahiran Rasulullah SAW serta kondisi sosial masyarakat Arab pra-Islam. Temuan penelitian ini mengungkapkan bahwa kelahiran Nabi Muhammad SAW mengandung nilai-nilai pendidikan seperti religiusitas, kemandirian, kesederhanaan, dan kepedulian sosial. Sejak masa kecilnya, Rasulullah telah ditempa dalam lingkungan yang religius dan alami, seperti di perkampungan Bani Sa’ad, yang turut membentuk kepribadiannya yang luhur. Nilai-nilai tersebut menjadi fondasi penting dalam pengembangan karakter yang ideal dan dapat dijadikan teladan dalam sistem pendidikan Islam kontemporer. Oleh karena itu, narasi sejarah kelahiran Nabi Muhammad SAW layak untuk dikaji lebih dalam sebagai sumber inspiratif pembelajaran karakter dalam pendidikan Islam masa kini.

Abstract

The existence of criminal law is a necessity for a nation to regulate the lives of its citizens. Indonesia is a constitutional state that has experienced a long legal history. Prior to the independence, the Indonesian people were familiar with the customary laws and religious laws of each resident. Customary Law and Islamic Law were jointly obeyed by the people at that time. As a living law, both are the solution for society in facing legal disputes. It is not surprising, then, that besides Positive Law, which is known to originate from Western/Colonial Law, Islamic Law and Customary Law have a higher bargaining position. So that in the establishment of National Law, Islamic Law and Customary Law become material sources for the establishment of a positive law. The formation of national law, therefore, including criminal law, really needs the contribution of Islamic law, in addition to customary and western law. The history of the development of criminal law in Indonesia is colored by Islamic values, because the socialization process of Islamic law is integrated with the development of customs in resolving criminal cases.

Abstract

This paper analyzes the exhaust emission, noise, and performance of 110cc motorcycles experimentally through PCCS exhausts compared to standard exhausts. This study adopts an experimental method involving three tests: exhaust emission testing based on the SNI 09-7118.1-2005 standard, noise measurement using the static test procedure according to the UN-R 41-04 standard, and performance evaluation conducted with an inertial dynamometer. Implementing the PCCS exhaust system on a 110 cc automatic motorcycle positively impacts exhaust emissions, noise levels, and engine performance. Compared to the standard exhaust, the PCCS significantly reduces CO and HC emissions by 78.99% and 55.99%, respectively, while maintaining noise levels within regulatory limits in urban conditions. In terms of performance, the PCCS delivers higher torque and power output, particularly in the 3500–5500 RPM range, which aligns with typical riding conditions. These improvements are attributed to the system’s efficient exhaust flow and reduced backpressure. The PCCS exhaust presents a promising solution for enhancing environmental sustainability, performance, and rider comfort in small-displacement motorcycles.

Abstract

Research and development model research is essential to meet the quality of coursebooks. This study aimed to develop al kitabah al ilmiyyah textbooks based on problem-based learning and measure their effectiveness. The research adopted Borg and Gall’s model, which includes seven stages: needs analysis, planning, initial product development, product validation, product revision, product trials, and final product refinement after field testing. The study employed both qualitative and quantitative descriptive methods. Data were collected through questionnaires, observations, and interviews, and analyzed using validation testing techniques. The findings indicate that the development of the al-Kitābah al-‘Ilmiyyah textbook was effective, as demonstrated by improvements in pre-test and post-test scores in both the control and experimental groups. The experimental group showed a higher average post-test score than the control group, suggesting the textbook's positive impact.

Abstract

The research was conducted directly at the Pertamina Hulu Mahakam CPU Tambora Samarinda Company. The problem in this study is how to control the quality of wastewater and what factors affect the quality of wastewater in the PHM CPU Tambora Samarinda area, while the purpose of the study was to determine the control of wastewater quality and determine the factors that affect the quality of wastewater. Wastewater sampling was carried out in bottles for 31 days at 06.00 am and then sent to the laboratory for analysis of oil content in wastewater. The method used is the control map approach and fish bone diagram. The results of the study showed that the quality of wastewater was still within the standard quality limit of 12.5 ppm (still below the maximum standard of 40 ppm) and the dominant factor affecting the quality of wastewater was the equipment factor, namely due to damage to the pump

Abstract

Konsep khilafah sebagai salah satu tema sentral dalam filsafat politik Islam, baik dari perspektif historis maupun kontemporer. Kajian dilakukan dengan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif-analitis melalui studi literatur dari sumber klasik dan jurnal akademik mutakhir. Khilafah dipahami bukan semata-mata sebagai sistem pemerintahan tunggal, melainkan sebagai prinsip kepemimpinan yang menekankan keadilan, musyawarah, amanah, dan kemaslahatan. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pandangan para ulama tentang khilafah sangat beragam. Ulama klasik seperti Al-Mawardi dan Ibn Khaldun menekankan aspek legitimasi dan struktur kepemimpinan tunggal, sementara pemikir kontemporer seperti Yusuf al-Qaradawi dan Rashid Rida lebih menekankan fleksibilitas implementasi khilafah dalam sistem politik modern. Hasil kajian mengungkap bahwa konsep khilafah mengalami evolusi signifikan seiring perkembangan sosial-politik umat Islam dan tantangan globalisasi. Oleh karena itu, khilafah perlu dipahami secara kontekstual agar tetap relevan dan mampu memberikan kontribusi positif bagi tata kelola pemerintahan Islam yang adil dan partisipatif.

Abstract

This study used a qualitative approach and descriptive research. The research location was at the Regional Drinking Water Company (PERUMDA) Giri Nawa Tirta in Pasuruan Regency. Data analysis techniques used data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study indicate that: 1) Transparency in financial management at the Pasuruan Regency drinking water company is well-implemented. This can be seen in the openness, collection, and reporting of information related to the company's finances. 2) Accountability in financial management at the Pasuruan Regency drinking water company is well-implemented. This can be seen in the functions, systems, structures, and responsibilities of company personnel, enabling effective management. 3) Accountability in financial management at the Pasuruan Regency drinking water company is well-implemented. This can be seen in the company's management in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. 4) Independence in financial management at the Pasuruan Regency drinking water company is well-implemented. This can be seen in the fact that each company organ avoids domination by any party, is not influenced by particular interests, is free from conflicts of interest, and is free from any influence or pressure, enabling objective decision-making. 5) The fairness of financial management at the Pasuruan Regency drinking water company is well-executed. This is evident in the company's provision of opportunities for stakeholders to provide input and express opinions on behalf of the company's interests. The company also provides equal and fair treatment to stakeholders in accordance with their benefits and contributions to the company. Abstrak Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan jenis penelitian deskriptif. Lokasi penelitian ini berada di PERUMDA Air Minum Giri Nawa Tirta Kabupaten Pasuruan. Teknik analisis data menggunakan reduksi data, paparan data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menyatakan bahwa 1) Transparansi pengelolaan keuangan di perusahaan air minum kabupaten Pasuruan terlaksana dengan baik. Hal ini dapat dilihat dalam keterbukaan, pengumpulan, dan pelaporan informasi terkait keuangan perusahaan. 2) Akuntabilitas pengelolaan keuangan di perusahaan air minum kabupaten Pasuruan terlaksana dengan baik. Hal ini dapat dilihat dalam fungsi, sistem, struktur,dan pertanggung jawaban orang-orang perusahaan sehingga pengelolaan perusahaan dapat terlaksana dengan efektif. 3) Pertanggungjawaban pengelolaan keuangan di perusahaan air minum kabupaten Pasuruan terlaksana dengan baik. Hal ini dapat dilihat dalam pengelolaan perusahaan terhadap prinsip dan peraturan perundang-undangan yang berlaku. 4) Kemandirian pengelolaan keuangan di perusahaan air minum kabupaten Pasuruan terlaksana dengan baik. Hal ini dapat dilihat bahwa masing-masing organ perusahaan menghindari terjadinya dominasi oleh pihak manapun, tidak terpengaruh oleh kepentingan tertentu, bebas dari benturan kepentingan dan dari segala pengaruh atau tekanan, sehingga pengambilan keputusan dapat dilakukan secara objektif. 5) Kewajaran pengelolaan keuangan di perusahaan air minum kabupaten Pasuruan terlaksana dengan baik. Hal ini dapat dilihat bahwa perusahaan memberikan kesempatan kepada pemangku kepentingan untuk memberikan masukan dan menyampaikan pendapat bagi kepentingan perusahaan juga memberikan perlakuan yang setara dan wajar kepada pemangku kepentingan sesuai dengan manfaat dan kontribusi yang diberikan kepada perusahaan
