Abstract

Influenza adalah infeksi saluran pernapasan akut yang disebabkan oleh virus RNA untai negatif dari family Orthomyxoviridae dan memiliki 3 tipe yang dapat menyerang manusia yaitu tipe A,B dan C. Walaupun termasuk self limitting disease, tetap diperlukan peningkatan pengetahuan sikap dan perilaku mengenai nutrisi tambahan sebagai upaya untuk meningkatkan daya tahan tubuh salah satu nya adalah dengan diet Selenium karena memiliki peranan penting sebagai pertahanan antioksidan dan pensinyalan redoks dan homeostasis redoks. Penelitian ini dibuat untuk mengetahui tingkat pengetahuan, sikap dan perilaku mahasiswa kedokteran mengenai konsumsi selenium sebagai upaya meningkatkan imunitas tubuh terhadap Influenza dan tinjauan menurut islam. Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif dengen pendekatan cross sectional dan pengumpulan sample menggunakan cara convenience sampling dilanjut dengan program SPSS untuk analisis korelasional dengan total jumlah sampel pada penelitian ini sebanyak 241 responden, dengan angkatan 2018 sebanyak 128 orang dan angakatan 2020 sebanyak 113 orang. Tidak terdapat adanya hubungan tingkat Pendidikan dengan pengetahuan, sikap dan perilaku mengenai konsumsi selenium sebagai upaya meningkatkan imunitas tubuh terhadap influenza. Konsumsi selenium dapat berfungsi untuk mencegah terjadinya penyakit influenza karena kandungan antioksidannya, sehingga hal tersebut sesuai dengan ajaran islam mengenai makan makanan dan minuman yang boleh dikonsumsi karena mengandung manfaat dan kebaikan untuk manusia itu sendiri.

Abstract

BACKGROUNDNicotine induces oxidative stress in human gingival fibroblasts (HGF) and stimulates the production of cytokines that trigger inflammation. Abrus precatorius L. (AP) leaves contain antioxidants with anti-inflammatory properties that can prevent the formation of free radicals and reduce tissue damage due to inflammation. This study aimed to determine the effect of ethanolic extract of AP leaves (EAP) on interleukin (IL-6) levels and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) gene expression in gingival fibroblasts exposed to nicotine. METHODSCells were randomized into six treatment groups and clustered into the non-treatment control group (NTC), solvent control (SC), nicotine control (NC), and groups treated with nicotine and EAP at doses of 9.375 µg/mL, 18.75 µg/mL, and 37.5 µg/mL, respectively, for 24 hours. IL-6 levels were examined using the Elisa method, while COX-2 gene expression was assessed using PCR. Data were analyzed using Oneway ANOVA and the Kruskal Wallis test. RESULTSIL-6 levels and COX-2 expression were considerably higher in the nicotine control group. Conversely, the cell groups treated with nicotine and EAP had substantially decreased levels of both inflammatory markers IL-6 and COX-2 (p=0.029) across all EAP dose levels compared to the nicotine control group. The highest reduction in response was observed at the dose of 9.375 ìg/mL EAP. CONCLUSIONThese results highlight the potential of Abrus precatorius L. in relieving nicotine-induced inflammation in smokers. By suppressing the production of inflammatory mediators IL-6 and COX-2 in HGF, EAP presents a promising avenue for further in vitro research.

Abstract

Salah satu jenis retribusi daerah adalah retribusi parkir. Setiap pemerintah daerah memiliki wewenang dalam menetapkan tarif retribusi parkir. Tetapi, sering sekali para juru parkir meminta lebih dari tarif yang sudah ditetapkan. Hal tersebut merugikan pengguna parkir, selain harus membayar lebih, pengguna parkir sering tidak mendapatkan karcis parkir. Belum lagi pengelolaan retribusi parkir yang tidak transparan menjadi salah satu penyebab rendahnya penerimaan retribusi parkir. Permasalahan ini dapat diminimalkan dengan menerapkan teknologi RESTful web services pada sistem pembayaran retribusi parkir yang terintegrasi dan transparan sehingga diharapkan mampu menjadi alternatif solusi mengatasi masalah pengelolaan retribusi parkir yang dialami oleh Pemkot maupun Pemda di Indonesia. Metode pengembangan sistem yang digunakan yaitu Extreme Programming (XP) dengan tahap : planning (perencanaan), design (perancangan), coding (pengkodean) dan testing (pengujian). Hasil aplikasi berbasis Android yaitu Markir sebagai sarana utama mengirimkan data pembayaran parkir dan OAuth 2.0 sebagai protokol otorisasi setiap  transaksi data yang dilakukan. Hasil pengujian aplikasi Markir dengan metode black-box testing, sistem telah terintegrasi dengan baik dan dilakukan berbagai tahap validasi seperti client credentials, access token dan scope akses fungsi yang tersedia pada API Markir sesuai standar protokol OAuth 2.0 sehingga transaksi data lebih aman jika dibandingkan menggunakan otorisasi API standar seperti basic-auth API ataupun API Key.

Abstract

Transformasi digital dalam sektor pemerintahan menjadi langkah strategis untuk meningkatkan kualitas layanan publik yang transparan, efisien, dan akuntabel. Hasil observasi dan pelaksanaan kerja praktik di Dinas Komunikasi dan Informatika menunjukkan bahwa sistem pengaduan masyarakat di Provinsi Jambi masih mengandalkan platform nasional, yaitu SP4N-LAPOR. Meskipun SP4N-LAPOR telah menjadi sistem resmi yang digunakan secara nasional, pelaporannya cenderung lambat dan proses distribusi laporan ke instansi daerah cukup kompleks. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang sistem informasi pengaduan masyarakat berbasis website yang diberi nama “Lapor Wak Dul”. Sistem ini dikembangkan menggunakan pendekatan Unified Modeling Language (UML) berupa use case, activity, dan class diagram, serta dibangun dengan teknologi web seperti HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, dan MySQL. Metode pengembangan sistem yang digunakan adalah Waterfall, sementara pengujian dilakukan dengan metode Visual Testing untuk memastikan tampilan sistem berjalan sesuai dengan kebutuhan. Hasil implementasi menunjukkan bahwa sistem “Lapor Wak Dul” mampu memfasilitasi masyarakat dalam menyampaikan pengaduan secara online dan membantu pemerintah dalam mengelola laporan secara terstruktur dan real-time. Sistem ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan efisiensi dan transparansi pelayanan publik di lingkungan Pemerintah Provinsi Jambi.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the improvement of knowledge after following technical guidance which consists of several materials on seeding, cultivation and post-harvest handling of sorghum, porang and orchids. Implementation of Technical Guidance was carried out by discourse and discussion methods. This research was conducted from November to December 2021 in Mojokerto Regency. The material was presented included Plant Propagation Technology with Tissue Culture, Certified Porang Seedling Procedures, Sorghum Cultivation, Sorghum as Animal Feed, and Sorghum Processed Technology. This quantitative assessment was chosen to measure the effectiveness of the implementation of technical guidance (Kartika & Simorangkir, 2019). Data was collected using knowledge improvement evaluation by distributing pre-test and post-test questionnaires to assess the enhancement of knowledge among farmers based on the counselling results that had been implemented. The effectiveness of knowledge enhancement among participants in technical guidance was 36.95%, meaning that knowledge enhancement among participants through technical guidance was categorized as quite effective. Thus, technical guidance was quite effective to be sustainable and able to provide positive value for instructors and farmers, especially if the material presented is relevant and in accordance with the improvement of required innovations and their implementation practices.

Abstract

In the era of rapid change, the company is required to always be able to face challenges and competitions by making adjustment in strategy. The members of organization's commitment to the strategy chosen by company is very crucial.To support the commitment in company required a good corporate climate and also trust among members of the company. The purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of organizational climate and trust in the commitment of the organization. The study was conducted at PT Suryajaya Teknotama the subjects were employees in that company. The collection of data conducted by interview, studying company documents and using questionnaires. The number of respondents in this study is 202 people. Analysis of the data in this study using SEM and lisrel 8.8 as tools to help analysis the data. Based on the analysis, obtained results showed significant effect of organizational climate to trust, significant effect of trust to commitment. While the organizational climate not significant effect on commitment.

Abstract

BACKGROUNDHuman dermal fibroblast (HDF) cultures can be used as a regenerative agent for wound healing. Fetal bovine serum (FBS) as a culture supplement is derived from animals, therefore not being constant in composition, causes variations in research results, thus requiring a substitute such as KnockOut serum replacement (KOSR). This study evaluated the defined KOSR as FBS substitute for HDF culture by measuring the relative expression of basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) and keratinocyte growth factor (KGF) messenger RNA (mRNA), HDF cell proliferation, and HDF migration. METHODSHuman dermal fibroblast culture was divided into 2 intervention groups receiving KOSR 5% and KOSR 10%, respectively, and a control group receiving FBS 10%. Reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) was used for bFGF and KGF mRNA relative expression at the fifth passage (P5). Cell counting kit-8 (CCK-8) reagent was used for the HDF cell proliferation assay at P5 and the scratch assay was used for HDF cell migration at P6. Data were analyzed using dependent t-test, One-way ANOVA, or Kruskal-Wallis test. RESULTSThere were no significant differences in bFGF and KGF mRNA relative expression and HDF migration velocity between the intervention and control groups (p>0.05 and p>0.05, respectively). The doubling time of the KOSR 5% group showed no significant difference (p>0.05), but KOSR 10% and FBS 10% showed significant differences between treatment days 2-6 and treatment days 6-10 (p<0.05). CONCLUSIONSThe KOSR 10% was comparable to FBS 10% in supporting bFGF and KGF mRNA relative expression, HDF cell proliferation, and HDF cell migration in HDF culture.

Abstract

BackgroundNicotine, as the main component of cigarettes, is known to interfere with the proliferation of human gingival fibroblasts (HGFs) and can trigger oxidative stress. This study aimed to analyze the impact of nicotine on viability, expression of the antioxidant Nrf2, levels of the product of oxidative stress malondialdehyde (MDA), and the migration capacity of HGFs. MethodsAn experimental laboratory study used fibroblasts isolated from healthy human gingiva. The cells were grouped into the non-treatment control group (NTC), the solvent control (SC), and the treatment groups, exposed to nicotine at various concentrations for twenty-four hours. Cell viability was assesed using the cell counting kit-8 (CCK-8), Nrf2 expression was examined using ELISA, MDA level was measured using an MDA kit, and migration capacity was assessed using a scratch assay. Statistical analysis used one-way Anova or Kruskal-Wallis test. A p-value of <0.05 was expressed statistically significant. ResultsThe Cell viability was substantially reduced in the nicotine group compared to the untreated group, accompanied by changes in cell morphology. In contrast, Nrf2 expression increased significantly (p=0.010) in the 5 mM nicotine group compared with the control group. The MDA levels were not significantly distinct across groups (p=0.056). Cell migration was delayed significantly in the 5 mM nicotine group at 72 hours after scratching compared to the control group. ConclusionNicotine decreased HGFs viability and increased Nrf2 expression significantly in a dose-dependent manner. Nicotine at 5 mM concentration did not alter MDA levels but delayed cell migration.

Abstract

Background: The Delta variant of SARS-CoV-2 led to a surge in COVID-19 cases in Indonesia. This study aimed to assess the demographic profile and mortality rates of hospitalized COVID-19 patients in YARSI referral hospital, Jakarta, comparing pre-Delta and Delta wave periods. The study also investigated whether low CT values in RT-PCR tests indicated heightened viral transmission before the Delta wave surge. Method: A retrospective analysis was conducted on 1,457 COVID-19 patients hospitalized at YARSI (January-August 2021) and 25,279 RT-PCR test results from walk-in patients (April-August 17, 2021). Differences were evaluated using Chi-square or Fisher’s Exact Tests while binary logistic regression was used to assess mortality risk factors. Results: There were increased proportions of pregnant women, patients aged 20-29 and those with coronary artery disease during the Delta wave. This period also showed a significant increase in mortality rates, with the highest seen in patients >60 years old or those with multiple comorbidities. Notably, most of the deceased patients (131 of 139) were unvaccinated. Analysis of RT-PCR data showed rising percentages of positive results with low CT values (below 21 or 15) from April to June. Conclusion: The Delta wave saw a higher risk of hospitalization among young individuals and pregnant women, despite their low mortality risk. The unvaccinated and those with multiple comorbidities faced higher mortality risks. Increases in RT-PCR positivity with low CT values preceded the July COVID-19 case surge.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the characteristics of biopellets made from the raw material of dried cow dung waste with cassava peel starch as an adhesive. The research method was carried out experimentally through several stages: raw material preparation, drying of cow dung under sunlight for 14 days, mixing with variations of cassava peel starch adhesive of 10%, 30%, and 50%, molding using a hydraulic press with pressures of 50, 60, and 70 kg, and testing the characteristics of the biopellets. The parameters tested included calorific value, moisture content, combustion rate, and ash content. The results showed that variations in adhesive levels and molding pressure affected the quality of the biopellets. The calorific value obtained ranged from 2,795.4 to 3,595.9 cal/g, moisture content 9.5–12.5%, combustion rate 0.74–1.71 g/min, and ash content 0.90–1.20%. In conclusion, biopellets from cow dung with the addition of cassava peel starch adhesive have characteristics that are feasible to be developed as an environmentally friendly alternative fuel.
