Abstract

Salah satu kegiatan masyarakat yang erat kaitannya dengan etnomatematika adalah proses membangun rumah sederhana. Dalam praktiknya, para ahli bangunan sering kali secara tidak sadar menerapkan konsep matematika melalui metode yang diwariskan secara turun-temurun untuk memastikan keakuratan hasil pekerjaannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengetahuan konseptual ahli bangunan pada proses membangun rumah sederhana. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan etnografi. Teknik pengumpulan data terdiri dari observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Instrumen penelitian meliputi peneliti sebagai instrumen utama dan pedoman wawancara semi terstruktur. Penelitian ini melibatkan ahli bangunan di Desa Sundakerta Kecamatan Sukahening Kabupaten Tasikmalaya sebagai sumber utama. Teknik analisis data menggunakan model analisis Miles dan Huberman, yang mencakup reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ahli bangunan menerapkan berbagai konsep matematika dalam tiga tahapan utama membangun rumah sederhana, yaitu perencanaan, pengerjaan struktur utama, dan penyelesaian akhir. Pada tahap perencanaan, ahli bangunan menggunakan konsep luas, skala, perbandingan, rata-rata dan diskon untuk menentukan ukuran rumah serta estimasi material dan tenaga kerja. Pada tahap pengerjaan struktur utama, ahli bangunan menerapkan teorema Pythagoras untuk memastikan sudut siku-siku menggunakan metode tali 3,4,5 (triple Pythagoras), serta menggunakan konsep tersendiri dalam menentukan kemiringan atap tanpa menyadari keterkaitannya dengan perbandingan trigonometri. Selain itu, konsep volume dan deret digunakan dalam perhitungan kebutuhan material dan ventilasi. Pada tahap penyelesaian akhir, konsep transformasi geometri dan kesebangunan diterapkan dalam pemasangan keramik dan pintu agar tetap proporsional, serta konsep volume digunakan dalam perhitungan kapasitas bak mandi. Seluruh pengetahuan konseptual ahli bangunan ini termasuk ke dalam jenis pengetahuan tentang prinsip yang mendasari prosedur.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendesain dan mengembangkan media pembelajaran Pecahan Tahu (PETA) sebagai media pembelajaran inovatif untuk materi operasi perkalian bilangan pecahan. Tahap model penelitian pengembangan mengikuti model ADDIE, yang meliputi: mengidentifikasi kebutuhan akan media pembelajaran yang interaktif (analysis), merancang blueprint media pembelajaran magnetik yang memvisualisasikan konsep perkalian pecahan (design), merealisasikan desain menjadi produk fisik PETA (development), menerapkan media pembelajaran dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar (implementation), dan mengevaluasi hasil penggunaan media pembelajaran (evaluation). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, media pembelajaran PETA dinyatakan sangat valid dan layak digunakan menurut penilaian ahli media dan ahli materi. Keunggulan utama desain PETA terletak pada kemampuannya sebagai media tunggal yang dapat memvisualisasikan operasi perkalian bilangan pecahan secara konkret dan interaktif melalui manipulatif magnet. Hal ini mengubah pembelajaran dari sekadar menghafal rumus menjadi memahami konsep secara mendalam. Hasil implementasi menunjukkan bahwa media pembelajaran PETA berhasil didesain dan merupakan media yang potensial untuk membantu mengatasi kesulitan belajar peserta didik pada materi perkalian bilangan pecahan. Perlunya pengembangan lebih lanjut untuk menciptakan versi digital dari media pembelajaran ini guna menyesuaikan dengan tren pembelajaran berbasis teknologi terutama untuk improper fraction (pecahan dengan nilai pembilang yang lebih besar dari penyebut).

Abstract

This research and development (R&D) study aimed to develop Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS)-based student worksheets (LKPD) grounded in assessment culture and productive disposition. Following the ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement and Evaluate). The study involved three mathematics teacher, five students for preliminary analysis, two subject matter experts, two media experts and 25 students for implementation. Data were collected through unstructed interviews and several instrument such as an assessment culture questionnaire, a productive disposition questionnaire, expert validation sheets and user response questionnaire. Findings showed that the student’s assessment was categorized as “compliance”, and their productive disposition was “moderate”. The worksheets were validated as “highly feasible” by experts and received “very good” user feedback. Furthermore, an 84% student mastery rate in the competency test demostrates the effectiveness of the developed HOTS based worksheet for learning.

Abstract

Abstrak Peserta didik mengalami permasalahan struktur berpikir seperti struktur berpikir yang acak, tidak sistematis, dan tidak logis ketika memecahkan masalah. Salah satu penyebabnya yaitu minimnya komitmen terhadap tugas. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan struktur berpikir peserta didik ditinjau dari tingkat task commitment tinggi, sedang dan rendah. Penelitian kualitatif ini menggunakan metode deskriptif. Subjek penelitian sebanyak 3 peserta didik kelas IX SMP Negeri 1 Tambaksari pada Tahun Pelajaran 2022/2023. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data terdiri dari penulis, soal tes matematika materi persamaan kuadrat, dan angket task commitment. Analisis data meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan peserta didik dengan task commitment tinggi yaitu S10T mengalami fragmentasi mis-analogical thinking, fragmentasi lubang konstruksi dan fragmentasi lubang koneksi. Peserta didik dengan task commitment sedang yaitu S06S mengalami fragmentasi mis-analogical thinking dan fragmentasi lubang koneksi. Peserta didik dengan task commitment rendah yaitu S01R mengalami fragmentasi mis-analogical thinking dan fragmentasi lubang konstruksi. Abstract Students experience problems with thinking structures such as random, unsystematic and illogical thinking structures when solving problems. One of the causes is the lack of commitment to the task. This study aims to describe students' thinking structures in terms of high, medium, and low levels of task commitment. This study is a type of qualitative research with a descriptive method. The subjects of this study were 3 ninth grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Tambaksari in the 2022/2023 Academic Year. The instruments used to collect data consisted of the author, mathematics test questions on quadratic equations, and task commitment questionnaires. Data analysis was carried out by data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The conclusion from the results of this study is that students with high task commitment, namely S10T, experience fragmentation of mis-analogical thinking, fragmentation of construction holes, and fragmentation of connection holes. Students with moderate task commitment, namely S06S, experience fragmentation of mis-analogical thinking and fragmentation of connection holes. Students with low task commitment, namely S01R, experience fragmentation of mis-analogical thinking and fragmentation of construction holes.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh kecerdasan emosional terhadap HOTS pada siswa SMP Pesantren Cintawana. Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah rendahnya kualitas pendidikan di Indonesia, seperti yang ditunjukkan oleh laporan PISA 2022. Kecerdasan emosional, yang melibatkan kemampuan mengelola emosi dan berinteraksi dengan orang lain, dianggap sebagai salah satu faktor penting dalam mendukung HOTS. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode asosiatif dengan populasi seluruh siswa SMP Pesantren Cintawana dan sampel kelas 7A sebanyak 32 siswa. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui tes HOTS dan angket kecerdasan emosional. Hasil analisis regresi sederhana menunjukkan bahwa kecerdasan emosional berpengaruh signifikan terhadap HOTS dengan koefisien determinasi sebesar 25%. Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya mengembangkan kecerdasan emosional untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa.

Abstract

Students' mathematical reasoning skills are very important in understanding mathematical concepts and solving mathematical problems. The lack of students' reasoning ability can affect student learning outcomes that do not reach the target so it needs to be honed in order to realize appropriate learning outcomes. The purpose of this research is to find out students' thought process in solving quadratic equation problems based on mathematical reasoning ability. The type of research used is qualitative research, and uses a descriptive approach. The source of data in this research is class IX students totaling 22 students with the subject selected 3 students. The data analysis technique in this research is qualitative data analysis. From the test results of students' mathematical reasoning abilities are categorized based on the assessment reference. Researchers categorized it into 3 categories, namely high, medium, and low. Based on the results of tests and interviews, students in the high category can fulfill 4 indicators well. Students in the medium category were only able to fulfill indicators 1 and 2 well, for indicator 3 could not be fulfilled well so they could not fulfill indicator 4. Subject 3 in the low category was only able to fulfill indicator 2 well. Indicators 1 and 3 were not well met.

Abstract

This study aims to comprehensively analyze the improvement of students ' mathematical development ability through the concept of three zone learning, with the type of research is quantitative and quasi experiment design. Examples of research as many as two classes amounted to 82 pre service teacher. Data analysis by calculating gain normalization. Results: based on the Post Hoc test, the level of the category that has a positive score of 0.012 with the upper category and the middle category means that the average score of students from the upper category is better than the middle category, then also for the level that has a positive score of 0.028 with the upper category and the lower category which means that the average score of students from the upper category is better than the lower category. As for the positive value of 0.016 with the middle category and the lower category means the average of the middle category is better. From the results showed that for levels with upper, middle and lower categories, the effect is greater in improving students.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the profile of students' mathematics anxiety based on the chosen elective class. The method used in this study is a survey method with data collection techniques involving observation (interviews or questionnaires). Participants were grade XI students of Public Senior High Schools in Tasikmalaya City in the 2023/2024 academic year, totaling 10 schools. The sample consisted of two classes from each school, consisting of one class specializing in science and one class specializing in social studies, selected using a purposive sampling technique. The instrument used was a mathematics anxiety questionnaire. Data processing techniques involved descriptive statistical analysis using Ms. Excel Nvivo version 14. The results of the study showed that there were differences in anxiety between students in science and social studies elective classes. The impression from these findings is the need for special interventions in the mathematics learning process in social studies classes to reduce mathematics anxiety.

Abstract

The formation of students' character and self-confidence based on noble cultural values ​​can be formed from the education and culture around students. Culturally responsive teaching makes people aware of respecting and recognizing the reality of different tribes, religions, languages ​​and ethnicities, and exploring the special aspects or uniqueness of students' culture and using them in planning and implementing learning. Development efforts are still very necessary, because: 1) Education is not enough to develop teacher professionalism. Many teachers take distance education/study outside the city. 2) Community Service Activities as an effort to organize education. 3) Cultural fusion as a border area. 4) Learning with a cultural background so that it can be introduced in learning. The solutions to partner problems that are addressed are: 1) The mixing of Javanese and Sundanese cultures as areas on the border is no longer considered a problem with the existence of acculturation (mixing of cultures) through the marriage process which has been carried out for a long time and produces Javanese and Sundanese descendants 2) Cultural conflict is not an obstacle because cultural acculturation has occurred in various activity sectors including religious and school activities using the language of instruction in both regions, so that it can be accepted by both parties in its delivery. 3) Community Service Activities are expected to be an implementation that can minimize inequality in technological progress and cultural inequality. 4) Culturally Responsive Teaching in daily learning is introduced by teachers through the Project Based Learning teaching module.

Abstract

Beberapa siswa mengalami kesulitan ketika menghadapi soal berbasis pemahaman, sulit menerapkan konsep secara kontekstual dalam situasi permasalahan serta merinci informasi matematis yang kompleks menjadi langkah-langkah yang lebih sederhana. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk menggambarkan proses berpikir siswa ketika menyelesaikan soal berbasis pemahaman matematis, khususnya pada materi Teorema Pythagoras. Studi ini dilakukan di MTSS Miftahul Falah Panumbangan dengan melibatkan 21 siswa kelas VIII B pada tahun ajaran 2023/2024 yang diambil dari 3 subjek, masing-masing mewakili kategori kemampuan tinggi, sedang, dan rendah berdasarkan klasifikasi Thompson. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes kemampuan pemahaman matematis pada materi teorema Pythagoras dan wawancara, kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa dengan kemampuan pemahaman tinggi memiliki proses berpikir yang terarah dan terstruktur, memenuhi semua indikator pemahaman matematis tingkat tinggi, termasuk membuktikan kebenaran suatu rumus dan teorema serta memperkirakan kebenaran tanpa ragu sebelum analisis lebih lanjut. Siswa dengan kemampuan sedang memenuhi indikator, yaitu memperkirakan kebenaran sebelum analisis lebih lanjut, namun belum sepenuhnya membuktikan kebenaran suatu rumus dan teorema. Siswa dengan kemampuan pemahaman rendah mengalami kesalahan dalam membuat ilustrasi sesuai informasi soal, salah memperkirakan kebenaran sebelum analisis lebih lanjut, dan belum mampu membuktikan kebenaran suatu rumus dan teorema.
