Abstract

Natural science is a subject that can be delivered through various strategies in understanding the concept, one of which is through ethno-STEM, with Sidoarjo local wisdom that is packed integrated with science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. This strategy is done to practice analytical thinking skills. The purpose of the study to describe the effectiveness of natural science learning based ethno-STEM to practicing the analytical thinking skills of secondary school students. The research method uses quantitative research type experiments with one group pretest and posttest design, class VIII student population of 120 students with a sample of grade VIII B a number of 30 students in MTs Muhammadiyah 1 Taman Sidoarjo. Research procedures include pretest, treatment by implementing natural science learning based ethno-STEM, and posttest. Data analysis techniques use descriptive statistics. The results showed that the implementation of naturak science learning based ethno-STEM is said to be effective, namely 1) the implementation of average learning 3.7 very well categorized, 2) student activities relevant to the average learning 3.6 categorized very well, 3) there is an increase in the value of analytical thinking skills of students by 0.6 moderate category, and 4) positive student response to learning by 90%. Further research is expected to be able to compare treatment between classes, as well as other variables that contribute to learning so that the analysis will be deeper.

Abstract

Deklarasi Universal Hak Asasi Manusia tahun 1948 menegaskanbahwa setiap orang mempunyai hak atas pendidikan. Oleh karena itupendidikan harus diberikan kepada setiap orang tanpa melihat perbedaansuku, keadaan sosial, letak geografis (keterpencilan) tempat tinggal,agama, politik dan perbedaan kondisi fisik dan mental. Hal tersebutmerupakan gambaran bahwa setiap anak memiliki kesempatan samadalam memperoleh pendidikan. Keberhasilan pendidikan di Indonesiasecara umum mengacu kepada dua hal, yaitu proses belajar mengajardan hasil yang akan diukur dari kompetensi. Sehingga dibutuhkanalat-alat pendidikan untuk dapat menjadikan proses belajar mengajartersebut berhasil, baik alat pendidik berupa tenaga manusia maupun nonmanusia. Akan tetapi justru terjadi kesenjangan antara pendidikan dikota dan di desa bahkan di pinggiran desa. Salah satu contohnya adalahpendidikan anak-anak petani tambak di pinggiran kota sidoarjo. Janganjanganhanya mitos pernyataan bahwa sekolah membuka kesempatanyang sama kepada semua anak. Sedangkan kenyataan di lapanganjustru terjadi reproduksi kesenjangan sosial melalui sekolah. Apakahsistem pendidikan di sekolah lebih menguntungkan peserta didik darikelas sosial atas? Bagaimana gambaran pendidikan anak-anak petanitambak di pinggiran Sidoarjo? Pendidikan anak-anak petani tambak diDusun Kali Alo Sidoarjo jauh dari kata layak. Bahkan tempat merekabelajar pun masih tergolong dari kata nyaman bagi peserta didik untukmenimba ilmu. Keadaan tersebut menjadi lebih parah, karena minimsekali fasilitas pendidikan dalam menunjang keberhasilan pembelajarandi sekolah, jauh sekali keadaan sekolah tersebut dari sekolah-sekolah dikota. Padahal pada jenjang dasar tersebutlah, waktu bagi anak mengasahketerampilan kognitif, afektif dan psikomotorik dalam diri mereka. Kenyataan ini membenarkan kritik Pierre Bourdieu yang menyatakanbahwa sekolah hanya menjadi lembaga reproduksi kesenjangan sosial(Bourdieu dalam Haryatmoko, 2010). Menurut Bourdieu, Kesenjangansosial dalam pendidikan sangat terasa terutama ketika membandingkankesempatan untuk masuk perguruan tinggi bagi peserta didik dari kelasatas kemungkinannya 80 %, sedangkan mereka yang berasal dari petanidan buruh hanya 40% (Bourdieu dan Passeron dalam Haryatmoko ,2010: 175).

Abstract

Scientific reasoning merupakan salah satu hasil belajar yang seharusnya dilatihkan kepada siswa karena penalaran ilmiah yang tinggi akan mempengaruhi siswa dalam membuat keputusan dan menyelesaikan masalah. Dibutuhkan keseriusan dalam melatihkan keterampilan scientific reasoning. Sehingga guru harus memilih pedekatan pembelajaran yang sesuai. Artikel ini mendiskusiskan tentang model problem based learning yang merupakan model pembelajaran berbasis inkuiri, dimana pembelajarannya dimulai dengan memberikan masalah. Pembahasan kedua, diperkenalkan pola-pola penalaran ilmiah yang bisa dilatihkan pada siswa baik yang berada pada tahap opersional konkrit maupun formal. Pada akhir pembahasan, akan diuraikan bagaimana model PBL mampu memfasilitasi siswa dalam mengembangkan penalaran ilmiah.Kata Kunci: Problem Based Learning and Scientific Reasoning

Abstract

The purpose of this research is the development of project-based learning tools in teaching students scientific communication skills. The development of these learning devices includes syllabus, learning implementation plans (RPP), student activity sheets (MFIs), evaluation instruments for student communication skills, where these devices are developed using project-based learning models. Learning tools that have been created and that will be used in the learning process have valid and reliable judgments. The stages of developing this learning device are: (1) student scientific communication is carried out in the literature; (2) curriculum, teaching materials, indicators of scientific communication skills, learning characteristics used, characteristics and abilities of students; (3) conduct the preparation of learning evaluations; (4) carry out construct validation; (5) analyze the results of construct and content validation; (6) hold a trial certificate; (7) analysis of trial results. The analysis of the results of the validation of project-based learning tools in training valid and reliable student scientific communication skills.

Abstract

This study developed an instrument for assessing undergraduate students’ teamwork skills in designing and creating team product in the context of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) learning. The development stage follows the stages of the R & D method developed by Barg and Gall. Teamwork skills instrument that has been declared valid qualitatively and quantitively as well as are implemented in STEM project-based learning using one shot-case study design in three different courses. The teamwork skills are measured based on self-assessments, peer-assessment, and facilitator evaluations. The scores obtained from three sources of assessment are analyzed, using descriptive statistics and ANOVA. The results show that the teamwork skill instrument is valid and reliable to measure the students’ collaborative skills in the STEM Project. In addition, the results of the three assessments showed that The STEM project-based learning is effectively able to train students' teamwork skills

Abstract

The research aims to describe the relationship of students' activities, responses, and cognitive learning outcomes in natural science learning based ethno-STEM in secondary school. Research methods use quantitative approaches with this type of correlation research. The population and research sample are class VIII students at SMP Muhammadiyah 5 Tulangan Sidoarjo. Data collection techniques use questionnaires and documentation. Questionnaires are used to determine students' activities and responses during natural science learning based ethno-STEM. Documentation in the form of documented student learning test results. In the study results test used cognitive learning results that refer to Bloom's C4 taxonomy, namely analytical thinking skills. Data analysis techniques use descriptive statistics that use SPSS-assisted product-moment correlation tests. The results showed that in the implementation of natural science learning based ethno-STEM there was a weak relationship between: 1) there is an activity relationship to students' cognitive learning outcomes with a contribution of 0.2%, 2) there is a response relationship to student cognitive learning outcomes with a contribution of 0.9%, and 3) there is a relationship of activity and response to student cognitive learning outcomes with a contribution of 1%. There are allegations that other variables also affect students' cognitive learning outcomes, these variables need to be revealed through further.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the STEM integrated PBL model to practice students' scientific communication skills. The population of this study were students from the eighth grade of Junior High School of 1 Candi. The sample used is 30 students selected from the population using simple random sampling technique. This research method is Pre-Experimental Design. The design in this study is a one-shot case study. Data from the observation results of the assessment of students' scientific communication skills were analyzed using quantitative descriptive methods, by finding the mean and finding the percentage of indicators of scientific communication skills. The results showed that the application of the STEM-integrated PBL model in science learning material additives was able to improve students' scientific communication skills in a good category, with the average result of students' scientific communication being 2.7.

Abstract

The study was intended to identify the effects of the media podcast as a friend to study high school science on post-covid study. Quantitative research is the type of research used in pre-experiment design, one group preposttest involving class vii at the 1st state junior temple in sidoarjo. Research instruments of cognitive learning tests. Data is analyzed by a normalized n-gain method. Based on data analysis, the pretest value obtained before using the podcast is 59. For the posttest score following the application of the media podcast is 77. The value of a difference between pretest and posttest in 18 and with a gain index of 0.47 is moderate. This suggests that the use of podcast in science studies has affected students' cognitive learning results, as there has been an increase in posttest and pretest scores.

Abstract

This study aims to inquire about effect of booklets based on project based learning on solving environmental problems in junior high schools. This research is experimental research using One Group Pretest-Posttest design with the subjects of this study being class VII students with a total of 17 students. The collection technique is to inquire the effect of using booklets based on Project Based Learning on solving environmental problems through a test technique where the test is carried out using pretest and post-test design. The instrument in this study was questions with valid and reliable problem-solving indicators using paired sample t-test analysis. The results of this study indicate that there are some effects of booklet on Project Based Learning on environmental problem solving through the pre-test and post-test results on the SPSS 26-assisted paired sample t-test with sig (2-tailed) 0.000 <0.05. Thus, providing booklet learning resources based on Project Based Learning has a significant effect on students' environmental problem-solving abilities.

Abstract

ABSTRAK The purpose of this  research is to examine  the influence of Devidend Per Share (DPS),  Return On Equity (ROE), Net Profit Margin (NPM), and Return On Asset (ROA) on strock price stock. The sample in this study is a manufacturing company, and industrial sectors and chemil sectors in indonesia strock exchange in 2013-2016. Methods of statistical analysis used multiple regression with SPSS 16.0 for windows.The results show that Devidend Per Share (DPS) not significantly affect the strock price. Return On Equity (ROE) not significantly affect the strock price. Net Profit Margin (NPM) not significantly affect the stock price.
