When an individual has reached old age, and their children have formed their own family, the elderly's responsibility to their children, and they return free as in the early days of their marriage. But by the time that freedom was gained, he had been in a phase with biological and psychological physical conditions that had regressed, as well as the loss of their children from home because they had formed a new family. The existence of the elderly is still often assumed negatively, where the elderly are considered a burden on the family. This arises because it looks from kasuistic towards the elderly whose lives have a dependency on others. The older a person ages, the more they need a place to shelter and get attention, especially from family. But in reality in the field many elderly who ended up abandoned by his family until entrusted in the elderly residence. In Indonesia itself, elderly housing has negative connotations because it is still associated with nursing homes where in fact there are many cases of nursing home facilities that are not habitable for the elderly and also their level of care. So that facilities that should be able to help the lives of the elderly even become a scary scourge.

Abstract

In Indonesia, the literacy level of the people is quite low. This is because people, especially millennials, are still reluctant to visit the library, because they are considered rigid, formal and monotonous. In addition, the many locations of libraries that are less strategic make the building less accessible to the public. With this issue, it is hoped that there will be a library facility in Denpasar City with an atmosphere that gives an image like young people, which is comfortable, flexible but still attracts attention. With several supporting facilities to attract public interest, especially millennials, to visit to read, express creativity, or as a medium of entertainment.

Abstract

Indonesia is a country with a tropical climate because of its geographical location on the equator. This causes Indonesia to be affected by 2 seasons, namely the rainy season and the dry season. This situation influences the building design process so that appropriate efforts are needed to overcome the problems encountered in buildings in the tropics. Tropical architecture is an architectural work specifically designed to overcome problems that exist in the tropics. In tropical architecture there are several principles that influence the design of buildings. This principle consists of thermal comfort, air flow through the building, heat radiation, and natural lighting during the day. The Yoga Retreat Center in Ubud is a yoga tourism facility that focuses on accommodating all yoga retreat activities. The location of the site is in the tropics, so it is important to apply tropical architectural principles to the building to create comfort for building users.
