Abstract

Energi surya merupakan salah satu energi terbarukan yang dimana panas yang diperoleh dari matahari dapat dimanfaatkan tanpa merusak lingkungan. Pemanfaatan energi surya yang paling umum adalah untuk memanaskan air baik sistem aktif maupun sistem thermosifon. Menggunakan sel photovoltaic sebagai sumber energi untuk memompa air merupakan satu terobosan yang menjanjikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan efisiensi kolektor plat datar dengan ukuran 1,62m x 1,14m x 0,08m untuk memanaskan air berkapasitas 120 L dengan menambahkan pipa bersirip sebagai sirkulasi air secara kontiniu yang dirancang oleh Herdy dan telah diuji pada kondisi cerah. Diadapat hasil terbaik dari pengujian pada tanggal 22 Agustus 2019, Adapun hasil penelitian ini adalah : 1) Perbandingan radiasi matahari perhitungan dengan radiasi pengukuran : Radiasi rata-rata teoritis pada tanggal 22 Agustus 2019 adalah 699,1073 W/m2 dan Radiasi rata-rata pengukuran adalah 378,666 W/m2. 2) Efisiensi bersih kolektor didapat sebesar 65,44%. 3) Efisiensi pada sirip yang diletakkan pada pipa sirkulasi air sebesar 67,56% dengan menggunakan sirip n =234. 4) Temperatur air maksimum dari seluruh tahap penelitian adalah 49,84 O C yaitu pengujian pertama pada tanggal 22 Agustus 2019. 5) Energi yang dibutuhkan untuk memanaskan air sebanyak 120 liter pada pengujian 22 Agustus 2019 selama delapan jam sebesar 11065,296 kJ. 5) Besar energi terbuang dari kolektor selama pengujian pada tanggal 22 Agustus 2019 adalah: Pada sisi samping kolektor sebesar 42153.991 J , Pada sisi depan belakang sebesar 29672.641 J ,Pada sisi bawah kolektor sebesar 413508,889 J , Pada sisi atas kolektor sebesar 4886778.321 J , Total energy yang terbuang sebesar 5372113,842 J.

Abstract

Gelugur acid (Garcinia atroviridis) is a fruit with high citric acid content so that it can be used as a source of antioxidants. This research was aimed to study the effect of fruit maturity on the color and chemical composition of gelugur fruit. Gelugur acid fruits with the different maturity level such as unripe, half-ripe, and ripe were analyzed for color, moisture content, ash content, total acid, total dissolved solids, and citric acid levels.  The results showed that fruit maturity had a significantly different effect (P 0.05) on color, moisture content, ash content, total acid, total dissolved solids, and citric acid levels. The color of fruit which is stated by oHue has a value of 71.6149-86.1362, including the yellow-red category. The higher the level of maturity, the lower the value of oHue which indicates the color of the fruit more yellow. Moisture content, ash content, and total dissolved solids increase with increasing maturity, but total acid and citric acid levels decrease with increasing fruit maturity. The highest levels of citric acid were obtained in raw fruit at 6.22%.

Abstract

The development of the Chinese city site area as a tourism potential in the city of Medan is very important considering the city of Medan does not yet have natural tourism objects that are well managed. The type of study used in this research is descriptive with a qualitative approach where research is carried out to create a tourism development using the Collaborative Management (Co-Management) method. To obtain data and to deepen the implementation of collaborative management, in-depth interviews were conducted with key informants and questionnaires so that the data needed in this study was complete. Data obtained in the field, both secondary data and primary data will be compiled, presented and analyzed with a qualitative approach in the form of exposure which will then be analyzed in accordance with the research problem undertaken. The results of research conducted show that the community has been involved in the development of tourism in the Chinese city site area. But the community is still walking alone in the development of tourism. With the concept of collaborative management, it will certainly be in developing tourism that is more focused and more targeted as desired. From this research it can be concluded that the area of the Chinese city site has a huge opportunity to be developed into the tourism sector that can provide benefits for both the government, the community and the parties involved in developing tourism.

Abstract

Toba Batak culture is very important for the development of Lake Toba tourism in Parapat. Toba 3H Batak culture (Hamoraon, Hagabeon, and Hasangapon) is a culture that is strongly held by the Toba Batak people. And the culture is carried out in daily living habits including the way the Toba Batak people in Parapat treat tourists and if tourists are satisfied, of course there will be tourism development. So in this study will look at the attitudes, attention, actions, and anticipation of tourism actors both local Toba Batak communities, business people and related parties in increasing the development of tourism in Parapat. The methodology used in this research is qualitative research with a descriptive approach. The informants in this study were key informants in this study were tribal chiefs who knew Batak culture well, the main informants in this study were domestic tourists with Toba Batak and foreign tourists who ended up in Parapat and additional informants in this study were business actors and givers tourism services such as traders, hotel entrepreneurs, restaurant entrepreneurs, hotel servants, restaurant servants, parking attendants, etc., and tourism observers and responsible government agencies such as the Tourism Office and BPS The results of this study indicate that Batak Toba culture can have a positive and negative impact on Lake Toba tourism, but in this study it was seen that Batba Toba 3H culture had a negative impact on the development of tourism. It can be seen how the Toba Batak people serve tourists. The obstacles faced are the habit of the Batak Toba people who are very hard and want to be respected, making tourists not want to return to Parapat

Abstract

This study aims to see the economic motives of the Karo ethnic group in developing and surviving in the USU region. This type of research uses a qualitative approach, the research location is in Jalan Jamin Ginting Medan or specifically in the Padang Bulan area, precisely from the campus intersection to the Harmonika Road intersection and the Road Development area to the Kampung Susuk intersection. Taking this location is intended to be more detailed and specific to see how the existence of USU becomes a central point for Ethnic Karo to adapt to follow development by mingling in the provision of student needs. The results showed that the motives that influenced the ethnic karo to survive were the land they owned as an inheritance and believed that the land had a living spirit (ertendi); strategic land with the existence of USU as the main attraction of their business. the motive influencing the ethnic karo to develop is to look at the short-term opportunities of their efforts to just survive, only see the opportunities available and only be able to provide the needs of students in accordance with the times. The conclusion from the iani research is that the Karo Ethnic survive in the area around the University of Sumatra because they have strong motives in themselves, how they maintain their assets. Karo ethnic develops because of the opportunities presented. A character that is found in the field of how ethnic karo who love to gamble with luck is implemented in the way they see business opportunities. USU as an opportunity was recognized as their way to reap profits and develop businesses.

Abstract

Road is one of the most important transportation infrastructures in the development progress of society's live. Pavement structure has an important role in providing optimal service. Traffic loads that exceed the limit conditions often occur,for there is a certain consideration in planning the asphalt mixture, including improving the asphalt quality. The idea to modify asphalt materials with admixture materials is expected to enlarge the asphalt attachment energy to the stone. One of them is using water hyacinth fiber. This study aims to find out the effect of water hyacinth fiber addition to the characteristics of Type V SNI 03-1737-1989 asphalt concrete mixture on the Marshall test index. The method used is experimental method. Laboratory testing is conducted using water hyacinth fiber to the mixture of Type VSNI 03-1737-1989 asphalt concrete as the aditional material with variations of 1%, 1.5%, 2%, 2.5% and 3% of total asphalt weight in the mixture on asphalt condition optimum 5.72%. The results of Marshall Stability increases by 5.88%, plastic melting (flow) increases by 9%,void in the mix increases by 38.59%, void filled with asphalt decreases by6.54%, void in mineral aggregate increases by 5.60%, the density of the mixture increases by 2.59% and Marshall Quotient decreases by 3.38%.

Abstract

The purpose of this study are to find out the process of making AC-WC asphalt by using waste tire ore as an additives to hot mix asphalt and also to find out the general effect of waste tire ore as additives in the asphalt mixture to the characteristics of AC-WC asphalt. [2].In this study, the variation of the mixture added with tire ore starting from 0%, 3%, 6% and 8% addition of tire ore waste for the highest variation value is 3%, stability value is 494.99 kg, Voids Filled With Asphalt’s value is 68,40%, value of Voids in Mix is 3.65%, flow value is 3,21 %, value of Marshall Quotient is 154,61 kg/mm, Density’s value is 2,29 gr/cc. Finally, it was concluded that the addition of waste tire ore is not in accordance with SNI 06-2489-1991 because the higher percentage value in the mixture will decrease the value of Marshall Stability.

Abstract

Rubber seeds have no dormancy, germinate rapidly and fungal growth is the limiting factor influencing storage period of seed viability. Solution of Polyethylene glycol 6000 (PEG 6000) have osmotic potential and osmotic adjustment that is used as a coating material is expected to be a preservative during storage. The purpose of this study was to test the effect of polyethylene glycol 6000 in inducing secondary dormancy by reducing the seeds germination and fungus growth to maintain the seed viability in storage period and to test seed viability and vigor after storage period. First stage of the study was using nonfactorial completely randomized design with four levels of polyethylene glycol with four replications, namely:PEG 6000 (w / v): 0%, 15%, 30%, 45%; The second step, was germination phase in germination tub after the storage period. The first study showed that concentration of 15% PEG 6000 to 45% were able to induced secondary dormancy by delaying seed germination from 0.67% to 0.33%, that significantly different from the 0% PEG 6000 (17.67%) that was able to reduced fungal seed from 16.33 to 26.33% andwas not significantly different in each treatment. The second study showed that PEG 6000 can maintain viability and vigor of seeds with seed germination above 97%, seedlings height 22.40 cm and number of leaves was 7.16. PEG 30% is the best concentration to increase the shelf life period of rubber seed andmaintained morphological characteristics after storage period. The higher the concentration of PEG 6000 the higher were the seed viability during shelf. The morphology and growth of the seedlings, had the same adaptability to the tub germination in planting medium.

Chili Sundari, Farmers Innovation So Superior Product Lembor Village, Brondong District, Lamongan Regency, East Java Province is a blessing for the people of Lembor village, because of the innovation of this product, the potential of the village can be done and explored more deeply and systematically.The type of research used is quantitative research. Quantitative research is a research by collecting data that is numerical then using statistical procedures to obtain information behind the image. The location of this research is Lembor Village, Brondong District, Lamongan Regency, East Java Province, where the data used in this research are primary and secondary data. Primary data in this research is questionnaire.The increase of new superior product type make a big impact on Chili farm sector so that it can increase the production of chili farming. Abstract

Abstrak:Pemanfaatan energi surya secara umum digunakan untuk energi termal dan energi listrik. Salah satu aplikasi dari sistempemanfaatan untuk energi listrik adalah penggunaan fotovoltaik (PV). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kinerjasistem kerja kotak pendingin dengan bantuan sel PV yang menyerap sumber energi matahari. Kelebihan dari dari sistempendinginan ini adalah beroperasi tanpa menggunakan energi listrik serta ramah lingkungan. Penelitian ini menggunakankomponen elektronik peltier untuk pendingin. Komponen peltier dirangkai dengan heat sink dan kipas kecil diletakkan di bagianluar dan kipas yang lain diletakkan di bagian dalam kotak pendingin. Kotak pendingin terbuat dari styrofoam. Data perubahantemperatur sistem kotak pendingin yang diperoleh kemudian dianalisa sehingga dapat diperoleh kinerja sistem kotak pendingintersebut. Pengujian dilakukan di ruangan terbuka yang mengalami paparan radiasi matahari. Proses pengukuran parametercuaca dilakukan dengan menggunakan alat ukur cuaca HOBO dan untuk merekam perubahan temperatur pada setiapkomponen sistem pendingin peltier digunakan data akuisisi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai COP maksimum sistempendingin peltier yang dapat dicapai adalah 0,317. Pada penelitian ini, juga diteliti pengaruh kondisi cuaca yang meliputi radiasimatahari, temperatur dan kelembaban udara terhadap kinerja sistem pendingin peltier.Kata kunci: sistem pendingin peltier, kinerjaAbstract:The utilization of solar energy consist of thermal energy and electrical energy. One application of the system for the utilization ofelectrical energy was photovoltaic (PV). The purpose of this study is to determine the performance of cooler box with PV cellsthat absorb the solar energy. The advantages of this cooling system was operated without using the electrical energy andenvironmentally friendly. This study uses electronic components Peltier for cooling. The peltier component assembled with a heatsink. The small fan that was placed on the outside and the other fan was placed inside the cooler. The cooler system was madeof styrofoam. The changing of temperature in the cooler system was analyzed and obtained the performance of the cooling boxsystem. The experiments were carried out in open space which exposure to solar radiation. The HOBO station was used tomeasure the weather parameter. To record the changing of temperature in the components was used data acquisition. Theresults showed that the maximum COP of peltier cooling system that can be achieved was 0.317. In this research, also wasstudied the effect of weather conditions against the performance of peltier cooling system.Keywords: peltier cooling system, performance
