Abstract

Penalaran analogis merupakan kemampuan seseorang dalam memetakan relasi pengetahuan saat ini dengan pengetahuan sebelumnya yang telah dipelajari. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penalaran analogis siswa laki-laki maskulin dan siswa perempuan feminin dalam memecahkan masalah geometri. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif. Hasil penilitian menunjukkan bahwa penalaran analogis siswa dengan gender laki-laki maskulin lebih baik daripada siswa dengan gender perempuan feminin. Siswa bergender laki-laki maskulin mampu menggunakan tahapan penalaran analogis dengan baik. Sedangkan siswa bergender perempuan feminin sedikit mengalami hambatan pada tahap mapping sehingga pada tahap applying subjek tidak mampu mendeskripsikan kesamaan atau analogi yang terkandung.

Abstract

This present study describes how do the process and results of the development of mathematics teaching based on realistic mathematics education to enhance the mathematical connection ability of Middle-School students. The teaching material development model refers to the 4-D Thiagarajan model which has 4 steps namely defining, designing, developing, and disseminating. This participant is studying distributed to learners from a Middle-School 2 Candi Sidoarjo. The study data were obtained with a validation sheet, an observation sheet of teacher and student activities, a student response questionnaire, and a mathematical connection ability test. The products of this study are the learning plan, student worksheets, and mathematical connection ability tests. The results showed that the learning material fulfilled the validity, practical and effective. The results of students' mathematical connection ability tests improved based on t-tests correlated and N-gain analysis. Therefore, it is possible to say that the development of mathematics teaching based on realistic mathematics education can enhance the ability of mathematical connections. As a suggestion, teachers in managing mathematics teaching are very necessary to develop the right tools, so that it has a positive impact on student learning outcomes, especially the ability of students' mathematical connections.Keywords: Realistic Mathematics Education, Mathematical Connection, Middle-School, 4-D Model

Abstract

Wabah Covid-19 merupakan ancaman nyata bagi kesehatan global dan menjadi beban dan tantangan serius bagi semua negara. Covid-19 berdampak pada melemahnya perekonomian, tetapi dampaknya juga dirasakan dalam dunia pendidikan. Keprofresionalan seorang guru sangatlah dibutuhkan untuk menghadapi berbagai tantangan. Guru memegang peranan yang sangat penting dalam mendukung program pemerintah khususnya peningkatan kualitas pendidikan, terutama di masa pandemi saat ini. Seorang guru yang profesional juga diharapkan selalu melakukan penelitian yang dituangkan dalam suatu karya tulis ilmiah. Untuk mendukung kualitas dari karya tulis ilmiah, analisis data dalam penelitian juga sangat diperlukan. Di sisi lain, MGMP Matematika SMP Kabupaten Lumajang membutuhkan pelatihan untuk meningkatkan kinerja guru. Sehingga, menggiatkan guru untuk melakukan penulisan karya ilmiah dengan analisis statistika adalah salah satu solusi yang tepat dilakukan. Dari hasil yang didapatkan bahwa kriteria keberhasilan dari sisi output telah terpenuhi. Lebih dari 90 persen kelompok telah mencapai target kinerja yang ditetapkan. Sedangkan dari sisi proses, sekitar 80 persen lebih peserta memberikan kesan positif terhadap workshop yang telah dilakukan. Dengan adanya pelatihan tersebut juga ada peningkatan kinerja guru dalam penulisan karya ilmiah sebesar 82 persen.

Abstract

Himpunan fuzzy merupakan alat yang berguna untuk pengolahan informasi positif, tetapi memiliki keterbatasan dalam pengolahan informasi negatif. Struktur himpunan kubik persilangan dibangun dari himpunan fungsi bernilai interval dan himpunan fungsi bernilai negatif. Struktur semigrup dibangun dengan operasi biner pada struktur himpunan kubik persilangan. Konsep ideal kubik persilangan komutatif diperkenalkan dengan menerapkan struktur himpunan kubik persilangan pada ideal komutatif dalam BCK-Aljabar, dan beberapa sifat diselidiki. Hubungan antara ideal kubik persilangan dan ideal kubik persilangan komutatif dibahas. Sebuah contoh untuk menunjukkan bahwa ideal kubik persilangan tidak bersifat komutatif diberikan dan kemudian syarat-syarat agar ideal kubik persilangan dapat menjadi ideal kubik persilangan komutatif dieksplorasi. Karakterisasi ideal kubik persilangan komutatif dibahas dan hubungan antara ideal kubik persilangan komutatif dan himpunan level kubik persilangan dibicarakan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan kompetensi guru Sekolah Menengah Pertama (SMP) di Kabupaten Pasuruan dalam menyusun modul ajar berbasis kearifan lokal. Pelatihan ini dilakukan sebagai upaya untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran yang relevan dengan konteks budaya setempat dan mendukung pelestarian kearifan lokal. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pelatihan partisipatif dengan pendekatan kolaboratif, melibatkan 21 guru Matematika SMP di Kabupaten Pasuruan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kemampuan guru dalam mengidentifikasi dan mengintegrasikan unsur-unsur kearifan lokal ke dalam modul ajar yang merupakan bagian dari kompetensi professional guru. Selain itu, modul ajar yang dihasilkan diharapkan dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa dengan materi yang lebih dekat dengan kehidupan sehari-hari mereka. Hasil penelitian ini juga menunjukkan bahwa melalui pelatihan partisipatif dengan pendekatan kolaboratif, para guru merasa lebih percaya diri dan terampil dalam menyusun modul ajar berbasis kearifan lokal. Temuan ini memberikan implikasi penting bagi pengembangan kurikulum yang lebih kontekstual dan relevan di tingkat pendidikan dasar dan menengah di Indonesia.

Abstract

This study is a descriptive qualitative study that aims to explore junior high school students’ generalization on functional thinking viewed from students’ differences on cognitive style, verbalizer, spatial visualizer and object visualizer. The subjects of this study were three male students, ages 14-15 years old, on East Java Indonesia. The Object-Spatial Imagery and Verbal Questionnaire (OSIVQ) were used to get the data of students’ cognitive style. This study used in-depth interviews using a pattern task and an interview guide. Time triangulation used for internal validity. The process of analyzing the data consists of data condensation, presentation of data and drawing conclusions. This study found that students with cognitive styles differences have different strategies in making generalization on functional thinking. The strategies used are counting from a drawing, whole-object strategies, and functional strategies. This study further examined how these three students came up with the strategies and what the mathematics expression used of  configuration. The results of this research show the importance of identifying students' cognitive styles before studying mathematics so that teachers can provide appropriate treatment and scaffolding so that students can achieve their learning goals optimally.

Abstract

Developing the Indonesian Version of the Object-Spatial Imagery and Verbal Questionnaire (IDN-OSIVQ) aims to create a culturally adapted and validated instrument for assessing object-spatial imagery abilities in the Indonesian population. The research utilized a developmental method to test the instrument's reliability and validity through rigorous adaptation procedures, including translation, back-translation, expert review, and pilot testing. Data from 153 students were analyzed to establish the internal consistency, construct validity, and factor structure of the IDN-OSIVQ. Results showed that the IDN-OSIVQ scales had satisfactory internal reliability, with principal component analysis confirming distinct and coherent factors. Object imagery had the highest average score (3.6662), while spatial imagery had the lowest (3.1765). Criterion validity was established as participants' ratings correlated favorably with corresponding tasks. Gender differences were observed: men scored higher on spatial imagery and women on object imagery, yet these differences did not overshadow the strong associations between cognitive style ratings and objective measures. The cultural adaptation process ensured the questionnaire's relevance and comprehensibility, enhancing its applicability. The findings support the IDN-OSIVQ as a reliable and valid tool, suggesting future research should involve more diverse age groups.

Abstract

Abstrak: Kemampuan spasial sangat berkaitan erat dengan geometri. Kemampuan spasial mendukung pemahaman tentang dunia geometris. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan profil kemampuan spasial siswa SD khususnya spatial visualization dengan kemampuan matematika tinggi dalam memecahkan masalah geometri. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas 6  SD. Hasil penelitian yang berpendekatan kualitatif ini menggunakan indikator kemampuan spasial yang diadaptasi dari penelitian Lawrie, et al. (2016)  dilaksanakan dengan mengggunakan metode triangulasi waktu yakni membandingkan hasil tes  dari siswa beserta wawancaranya dengan hasil tes yang setara beserta wawancaranya pada waktu yang berbeda. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa siswa kemampuan tinggi mempunyai kemampuan spatial visualization yang berbeda dalam menyelesaikan tugas pemecahan masalah geometri.Kata Kunci: Kemampuan Spasial, Spatial Visualization, Geometri Sekolah Dasar, Matematika SD Abstract: Spatial ability is closely related to geometry. Spatial abilities support understanding of the geometric world. This study aims to describe the profile of elementary school students' spatial abilities, especially spatial visualization, with high mathematical skills in solving geometric problems. The subjects in this study were students of grade VI SD. The results of this research using a qualitative approach using spatial ability indicators adapted from Lawrie's research were carried out by using the time triangulation method, namely comparing test results from students and their interviews with test results that were equivalent to tests and interviews at different times. The results of this study indicate that high ability students have different spatial visualization abilities in solving geometry problem solving tasks.Keywords: Spatial Ability, Spatial Visualization, Elementary School Geometry, Elementary Mathematics

Abstract

A significant amount of scholarly investigation has recently focused on metacognitive activity. However, the examination of metacognitive variations in solving math problems that are still limited in scope. This case study examines gender differences in activity variations of metacognitive activities, specifically awareness, regulation, and evaluation, in prospective teachers solving mathematical problems based on mathematical models. Participants were selected through purposive sampling. Twelve male and sixteen female participants were chosen from those who participated in the 'capita selecta' mathematics course at a public university in West Java, Indonesia. The data were collected through mathematical problem-solving tasks and interviews. The results show that the variations in metacognitive activities between male and female participants are different. Females tend to be more complex and structured in their evaluation activities, while males tend to be more complex and structured in their awareness activities. Based on the results, recommendations are made for future studies.
