Abstract

Salah satu metabolit yang dihasilkan tumbuhan yaitu flavonoid. Tanaman yang mengandung flavonoid umumnya memiliki aktivitas antioksidan. Salah satu tanaman yang banyak terdapat di Kalimantan Selatan yaitu kalangkala (Litsea angulata). Buah kalangkala umumnya hanya dikonsumsi sebagai pelengkap makanan. Daun kalangkala secara empiris digunakan sebagai pengobatan tradisional. Daun kalangkala juga mudah didapat karena mampu tumbuh terus menerus. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu mengetahui aktivitas antioksidan dan kadar flavonoid total dari daun kalangkala. Penelitian diawali dengan pengambilan sampel daun yang berada di Banjarbaru Kalimantan Selatan. Daun selanjutnya dikeringkan, lalu dihaluskan, kemudian diekstraksi secara maserasi dengan etanol 70%. Hasil maserasi didapat ekstrak cair yang selanjutnya diuapkan, hingga didapat ekstrak kental. Ekstrak kental dihitung nilai rendemen dan diuji kualitatif kandungan flavonoid. Ekstrak daun kalangkala diuji aktivitas antioksidan dengan metode DPPH dan ditetapkan kadar flavonoid dengan pereaksi AlCl3 menggunakan alat Spektrofotometer UV-ViS. Hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa rendemen ekstrak sebesar 4,98%, teridentifikasi keberadaan flavonoid dengan tiga metode berbeda, memiliki aktivitas antioksidan dengan nilai IC50 sebesar 302,80 ppm, dan kadar flavonoid total sebesar 0,395%. Kesimpulan dari penelitian diketahui daun kalangkala memiliki aktivitas antioksidan dengan kadar flavonoid total 0,395% b/b

Abstract

The mundar plant (Garcinia forbesii) is a typical fruit of South Kalimantan. The people use mundar empirically as a spice, cosmetic, and medicine. The purpose of this study was to determine the characteristics of mundar extract from Karang Intan and Beruntung Baru districts in Banjar Regency. The collection of plants from two places, plant determination, and extraction with 70% ethanol. The extract was then characterized. The characterization showed that the Garcinia forbesii pericarp extract from both places was dark brown, distinctive odor, sour taste, and thick. Both extracts contained flavonoids, phenolics, tannins, saponins, glycosides, and anthraquinones. The chromatography of both extracts was the same and detected to alpha-mangosten. The extract from Karang Intan district has a yield 59.99%, total phenolic content 0.888%, moisture content 9.78%, total ash content 1.10%, and acid insoluble ash content 0.06%. The extract from Beruntung Baru district has a yield 58.74%, total phenolic content 0.823%, moisture content 9.93%, total ash content 1.59%, and acid insoluble ash content 0.04%. Garcinia forbesii pericarp extracts from from two places have the same organoleptical characteristics, phytochemical compounds, and chromatography patterns. The differences are in yield percentage, total phenolic content, water content, ash content, and acid insoluble ash content.

Abstract

Mundar plants are native to Kalimantan which are believed to contain various marker compounds that have biological effects. Phenol and tannin are marker compounds found in the skin of G. forbesii fruit which are believed to act as antioxidants. This research aims to determine the antioxidant potential of marker compounds, namely phenol and tannin, by determining the total phenol and total tannin levels in the ethanol extract of G. forbesii fruit peel. Mundar fruit skin was extracted with ethanol solvent then the total phenol content was determined using the Folin-Ciocelteau method using a gallic acid standard and total tannin was determined using the vanillin method using catechin as a standard solution. The test results showed that the phenol content of the ethanol extract of G. forbesii fruit peel was 1.507 ± 0.041 % w/w equivalent to gallic acid and the total tannin was 0.257 ± 0.004 % w/w equivalent to catechin. These results indicate that the ethanol extract of mundar fruit peel has the potential to act as an antioxidant.

Abstract

Pengetahuan terhadap tanaman obat keluarga (TOGA) sangat penting sebagai dasar untuk swamedikasi menggunakan tanaman obat. Kegiatan pengabdian terdiri dari pengenalan jenis tanaman obat, peningkatan ketrampilan pengolahan tanaman obat, dan pengenalan manfaat tanaman obat untuk pengobatan suatu penyakit. Kegiatan pengabdian menggunakan metode penyuluhan, diskusi, dan praktek langsung. Data dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian menunjukkan terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan pengenalan jenis tanaman obat, peningkatan ketrampilan pengolahan tanaman obat, dan pengenalan manfaat tanaman obat untuk pengobatan suatu penyakit berturut turut adalah 90%, 100%, dan 85%. Selain kegiatan penyuluhan, kegiatan ini juga menghasilkan kebun TOGA dengan jumlah tanaman obat 30 jenis.

Abstract

Secondary metabolite content and extract characterization can be influenced by the solvent used in the extraction process. The content of phenolic compounds and antioxidant activity of Labisia pumila leaves can be influenced by solvents. This research aims to determine three extracts' antioxidant activity and total phenolic content using different solvents. Fresh L. pumila leaf samples were cleaned with running water and then dried using a drying cabinet. The dried leaves are then powdered and extracted using distilled water, 70% ethanol, and 96% ethanol. Extraction with distilled water using the infusion method and ethanol using maceration. Next, the solvent obtained was evaporated using a rotary evaporator and oven until a dry extract was obtained. Total phenolic content was determined using the UV-Vis spectrophorometric method with the Folin-Ciocalteu reagent. The standard used is error-free. Antioxidant activity was determined using the DPPH method with a UV-Vis spectrophotometer, then the IC50 value was calculated. The research showed that the total phenolic content of the distilled water extract was 6.437 ± 0.177 w/w GAE, the 70% ethanol extract was 8.377 ± 0.079 w/w GAE, and the 96% ethanol extract was 17.387 ± 0.621% w/w GAE. Antioxidant activity is known to have an IC50 value of distilled water extract of 59,716 ppm, 70% ethanol extract of 50,543 ppm, and ethanol extract of 43,520 ppm. The conclusion of the research is that of the three extracts, it is known that the antioxidant activity is the strongest, and the total phenolics are the highest in the 96% ethanol extract.

Abstract

Penyakit tidak menular (PTM) merupakan suatu penyakit yang tidak bisa menular dari satu orang ke orang lainnya. Salah satu PTM yang cukup banyak diderita oleh masyarakat adalah hipertensi. PTM dapat disebabkan pola hidup maupun pola makan yang tidak berimbang menyebabkan angka kejadian penyakit ini terus meningkat dari waktu ke waktu. Tingkat penyakit hipertensi pada masyarakat Desa Tambak Baru Ilir masih tinggi dan diketahui masyarakat desa ini masih memiliki pengetahuan yang minim termasuk keterampilan pengelolaan manajemen hipertensi. Tujuan pengabdian yang telah dilakukan yaitu meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat dengan penyakit hipertensi di Desa Tambak Baru Ilir. Kegiatan pengabdian dilakukan pada bulan agustus 2024. Secara umum kegiatan pengabdian diawali dengan sosialisasi kegiatan pada kepala desa. Selanjutnya tim pengbadian masyarakat membuat media edukasi berupa leaflet tentang hipertensiMasyarakat yang akan diberikan edukasi sebelumnya diminta mengisi pretest, selanjutnya diakhir kegiatan mengerjakan posttest. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat menunjukkan pengabdian masyakat diikuti oleh 13 orang yang terdiri atas perempuan, usia 38-70 tahun, dan pekerjaan didominasi ibu rumah tangga. Nilai pretest dari skala 0-10 yang didapatkan rata-rata 7,08 dan nilai posttest rata-rata 9,23. Kesimpulannya yaitu terdapat peningkatan pengetahuan masyarakat tentang hiprtensi secara signifikan sebelum dan sesudah edukasi pada kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat di Desa Tambak Baru Ilir. Kata Kunci: Edukasi, Hipetensi, Masyarakat, Pengetahuan, Banjar Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) cannot be transmitted from one person to another. One of the NCDs that is quite common in the community is hypertension. NCDs can be caused by an unbalanced lifestyle or diet, causing the incidence of this disease to continue to increase over time. The level of hypertension in the Tambak Baru Ilir village community is still high and it is known that the people of this village still have minimal knowledge, including hypertension management skills. The purpose of the community service that has been carried out is to increase public knowledge about hypertension in Tambak Baru Ilir village. Community service activities were carried out in August 2024. In general, community service activities began with the socialization of activities to the village head. Furthermore, the community service team made educational media through leaflets about hypertension. The community who would be given education were previously asked to fill out a pretest, then at the end of the activity, they did a posttest. The results of community service activities showed that community service was attended by 13 people consisting of women, aged 38-70 years, and jobs dominated by housewives. The pretest score on a scale of 0-10 obtained an average of 7.08 and the average posttest score was 9.23. The conclusion is that there was a significant increase in public knowledge about hypertension before and after education in community service activities in Tambak Baru Ilir village.

Abstract

White Activated Carbon serbuk kayu ulin (Eusideroxylon zwageri) merupakan terobosan yang digunakan dalam penyerapan keringat pada kulit ketiak penyebab bau badan dengan menunjang kemudahan dalam pemakaian. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas iritasi primer, uji hedonik, dan efektivitas White Activated Carbon serbuk kayu ulin sebagai agen penjerap keringat berlebih pada kulit ketiak. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode uji tempel untuk uji iritasi, uji hedonik, dan uji efektivitas. Uji iritasi dengan hewan uji kelinci albino, sedangkan uji hedonik dan uji efektivitas menggunakan alat skin analyzer pada responden manusia. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai indeks iritasi primer sebesar 0,22, uji hedonik pada responden menunjukkan kategori “suka” untuk bau, warna, bentuk, dan kesukaan setelah diaplikasikan, dan hasil uji efektivitas pada uji Paired T-Test diketahui bahwa nilai sig≤0.05, artinya terdapat penurunan jumlah keringat setelah penggunaan White Activated Carbon pada kulit ketiak.

Abstract

Stunting is defined as a chronic nutritional problem caused by a lack of adequate nutritional intake over an extended period. Iron is a vital component for cellular growth and development, as well as immune system function. The solution to overcoming iron deficiency is to consume highly nutritious foods, such as meat and green leafy vegetables. One such food is the kalakai plant. The Sungai Besar Village, Banjar Regency, is characterized by an abundance of natural resources that flourish in a wild state. Among these is the kalakai plant (Stenochlaena palustris (Burnm. F.) Bedd.), which is notable for its high iron content. The plant is employed solely as a vegetable. The objective of this community service activity is to enhance the competencies and understanding of PKK mothers in Sungai Besar Village about the diversification of processed kalakai plant products into millennial herbal medicine products. The methodology employed involved the preparation of the field, the counseling of the potential of kalakai leaves, and the training in the production of diversified kalakai leaves into millennial herbal medicine. The results and conclusions of this activity demonstrated an increase in knowledge of 85% and an 89% increase in the skills of PKK mothers in Sungai Besar Village in the diversification of kalakai leaves for the production of millennial herbal medicine derived from local Kalimantan plants.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the specific and non-specific parameter from ethanolic extract of A. microcarpa. Specific parameters such as the organoleptic properties, content of water and ethanol soluble compound, and chhromatogram profile of the extract. In contrast, the non-specific parameter includes drying losses, ash levels, microbiological contamination levels, and heavy metal contamination levels. The results showed that the organoleptic properties of ethanolic extract of A. microcarpa was thick, blackish brown color, bitter taste and have distinctive odor. The average content of water-soluble compounds of 66.93%, ethanol-soluble of 47.97%, and chromatogram profile with Rf 0.636. The non-specific parameters results were drying losses of 5.50%, total ash content of 3.73%, acid-insoluble ash of 2.13%, microbial contamination testing results of 1.2x102-5.5x103 colonies/g, and total mold/ yeast contaminants of 10-100 colonies/g. Heavy metal contamination Pb levels and Cd levels were 5.47 mg/kg and 0.19 mg/kg respectively. These studies suggested that the observed specific and non-specific parameters may be helpful for establishing pharmacopoeia standards of A. microcarpa and to ensure uniformity of extract effect.

Abstract

Latar bekalang : Mundar (Garcinia forbesii) merupakan tanaman khas asal Kalimantan Selatan yang berpotensi sebagai bahan obat. Tamanan diolah menjadi simplisia harus memenuhi persyaratan untuk dapat digunakan sebagai bahan obat. Simplisia yang digunakan akan melalui uji parameter standar simplisia meliputi parameter spesifik dan non spesifik. Parameter spesifik yang akan diuji yaitu golongan senyawa, senyawa spesifik yang menggambarkan efek farmakologis sedangkan pada parameter non spesifik yang akan diuji adalah sifat kimia, fisika dan mikrobiologi yang akan mempengaruhi stabilitas dan keamanan obat.Tujuan : Menetapkan parameter spesifik dan non spesifik simplisia kulit buah mundar asal Kalimantan SelatanMetode : Pengujian yang dilakukan yaitu penetapan parameter spesifik dan parameter non spesifik yang ditetapkan meliputi organoleptik, mikroskopik, kadar sari larut pelarut tertentu, susut pengeringan, kadar abu tidak larut asam, kadar abu total, dan  cemaran logam berat. Sampel simplisia tanaman Mundar yang akan diuji berasal dari dua Kecamatan yang berbeda yaitu dari Kecamatan Karang Intan dan Kecamatan Beruntung Baru Kabupaten Banjar, Kalimantan Selatan.Hasil : Hasil analisis simplisia kulit buah mundar dari Kecamatan Karang Intan and Kecamatan Beruntung Baru masing-masing adalah organoleptik kedua sampel simplisia berupa serbuk coklat, asam, berbau khas. Hasil mikroskopik diperoleh terdapat epidermis, kolenkim dan parenkim mesocarp pada kedua simplisia. Kadar sari larut etanol kedua simplisia masing-masing 57,20±0,10% dan 58,57±0,49%, kadar sari larut air 66,93±0,23% dan 68,83±0,15%, susut pengeringan 5,40±0,26% dan 6,93±0,76%, kadar abu total 2,20±0,03% dan 2,49±0,02%, kadar abu tidak larut asam 0,04±0,02% dan 0,06±0,02%, cemaran logam berat Pb 0,007±0,000mg/kg dan 0,010±0,003mg/kg, Cd 0,006±0,001mg/kg dan 0,009±0,002 mg/kg.Kesimpulan : Hasil parameter spesidik dan non spesifik kedua sampel simplisia kulit buah G.forbesii memenuhi persyaratan standar.Kata kunci: Mundar, simplisia, spesifik, non spesifik.
