Abstract

The purpose of this study is to close the gap in the literature by examining the connection between tax evasion in Indonesia, executive incentives, company governance quality, and family ownership. It is anticipated that the study's findings would help company executives and policymakers better understand corporate governance and curtail tax evasion. The results of this study can help policymakers and regulators in Indonesia create more effective regulations to boost corporate governance and increase tax compliance. Quantitative approaches are the research approach that is being applied. The independent variables of family ownership, corporate governance, and executive incentives have little impact on tax avoidance, according to the findings of statistical tests using panel data model estimate in partial T test testing. The movement or change in the independent variables in this study is unrelated to the tax avoidance ratio.

Abstract

This study aims to identify variables that affect profitability in banking companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The addition of credit risk variables as independent variables is a novel part of this study. This research method includes data collection from 20 banking companies over a five-year period (2019–2023) with a total of 100 data that meet the criteria with the application of data processing analysis using panel data regression analysis techniques. The results of the study found that liquidity risk has a significant negative effect on profitability, while the loan to deposit ratio and cash reserve ratio have a significant positive effect on profitability. Financial managers also need to be proactive in developing strategies, facing challenges, and adapting to technological developments in determining banking strategies to ensure the success of the bank. So investors need to consider the potential benefits and risks associated with credit risk because it can disrupt the performance of the banking sector, as well as conducting fundamental analysis and portfolio diversification to minimize risk. Investors also need to look at the operational side of the bank by paying attention to improving the bank's operational performance because this can increase the bank's income from various types of services, such as transaction fees, deposit interest, and loan fees.

The factors studied include the Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR), Non-Performing Loans (NPL) ratio, Expected Credit Loss Provision (CKPN) ratio, Earning Ability (BOPO), Loan to Deposit Ratio (LDR), and Board Diversity (BD). Data was taken from banking companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in the period 2018 to 2022. The analysis method uses a linear regression test with a Fixed Effect Model. The research results show that the NPL ratio, CKPN ratio, BOPO, LDR, and BD have a significant influence on banking performance, while CAR does not have a significant influence. These results provide important information for investors and managers in managing banks, as well as being the basis for further research in identifying other factors that influence banking performance in Indonesia.

Abstract

This research analyzes the influence of debt on firm value with corporate governance as a variable presumed to moderate the relationship between debt and firm value. The research sample was selected using a purposive sampling method, resulting in 44 non-cyclical consumer sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) from 2018 to 2022. The study results indicate that corporate governance and profitability positively affect firm value, and firm size affects firm value. Corporate governance as a moderating variable can negatively moderate the relationship between debt and firm value. The findings of this study provide insights into institutional ownership, profitability, and firm size that affect firm value. Investors can use this information to conduct risk analysis and inform their investment decisions. Investors should choose companies with strong corporate governance and high profitability, considering institutional ownership in the corporate governance variable. Investors should preferably select companies with high institutional ownership and high profitability to ensure high firm value but choose companies with smaller sizes where the company uses total assets productively.

This research method involves collecting data from 20 banking companies over a six-year period (2018–2023) with a total of 120 data that meet the criteria by applying data processing analysis using panel data regression analysis techniques. Abstract

This study investigates the influence of specific financial variables on the performance of banks listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The research employs a quantitative approach using secondary data obtained from financial reports and annual reports of listed banks over a five-year period from 2019 to 2023. These data were sourced from the official website of the Indonesia Stock Exchange and individual bank websites. The analysis was conducted using regression analysis with the assistance of EViews 12 software. The results indicate that Capital Adequacy (CA) significantly affects Return on Assets (ROA) based on the Fixed Effect Model (FEM), Chow Test, and Random Effect Model (REM) analysis. The statistical tests confirm that variations in CA contribute to differences in bank performance, emphasizing the critical role of capital adequacy in determining profitability. The findings of this study suggest that capital adequacy is a key determinant of bank performance, highlighting its importance in maintaining financial stability and operational efficiency. Understanding the impact of financial variables on performance can help stakeholders assess the financial health of banks and make informed decision.
