Abstract

The rapid development of technology requires mathematics teachers to master mathematical software applications. However, some mathematics teachers have not mastered technology in mathematics learning, especially mathematical software applications. The solution to this problem is organizing community service activities through mathematical software application training in mathematics learning. The community service activity uses training modules that provide detailed and complete explanations and examples presented excitingly, so the participants are not bored. A series of community service activities include materials delivery, training and mentoring, discussion, and evaluations. Mathematics teachers were actively involved during the activities to the end and evaluation. This community service activity aims to improve the quality of mathematics teachers in utilizing mathematical software applications in mathematics learning. The responses to the training activities were very positive, so it can be concluded that the training activities were carried out well and the achievements in accordance with the goals and targets specified.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif kualitatif yang bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemampuan berpikir kreatif peserta didik pada materi perbandingan. Subjek penelitian terdiri atas 28 peserta didik kelas VII-2 SMP Negeri 23 Malang, kemudian diambil 6 peserta didik untuk dianalisis, karena terdapat kesamaan jawaban di setiap tingkatannya. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan tes, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Uji keabsahan data dilakukan dengan teknik triangulasi metode. Data dianalisis dengan tahapan reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian ini yaitu pada kriteria kurang kreatif atau Tingkat Kemampuan Berpikir Kreatif (TKBK) dengan 39,28%, dan kriteria tidak kreatif dengan 60,71%. Kriteria sangat kreatif, kreatif dan cukup kreatif tidak ditemukan subjek pada tingkatan ini. Kesimpulan berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini diperoleh kemampuan berpikir kreatif dengan kriteria kurang kreatif, siswa mampu memahami soal, memberikan ide, memberikan lebih dari satu jawaban dan menjawab tetapi belum ada unsur kebaruan. Siswa dengan kriteria tidak kreatif terdapat 17 orang, siswa mampu memahami soal, memberikan ide, memberikan satu jawaban walaupun kurang lengkap dan menjawab tetapi belum ada unsur kebaruan.

Abstract

Kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika terdiri dari 4 langkah yaitu pemahaman masalah, perencanaan cara penyelesaian, pelaksanaan rencana dan memeriksa kembali. Tujuan adalah untuk mendeskripsikan tingkat kemampuan pemecahan masalah peserta didik dalam Discovery Link Map dan untuk mengetahui penyebab kesalahan peserta didik dalam menyelesaikan soal. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kualitatif dan jenis penelitiannya adalah deskriptif-kualitatif. Subjek yang dianalisi adalah 8 peserta didik kelas X SMK Islam Gondanglegi. Prosedur pengumpulan data terdiri dari tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Instrumen penelitian tes dan wawancara dilakukan validasi oleh validator. Pengecekan keabsahan data dilakukan dengan triangulasi metode. Data penelitian yang terkumpul dianalisis dengan tahapan perekduksian data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan Hasil dari penelitian yaitu hasil tes dan wawancara menunjukkan kriteria sangat baik terdapat 4 peserta didik, kriteria baik terdapat 6 peserta didik, kriteria cukup terdapat 4 peserta didik, kriteria kurang terdapat 4 peserta didik, dan tidak ada peserta didik yang tergolong kriteria sangat kurang. Persentase pada aspek memahami masalah adalah 87,03%, pada aspek merencanakan penyelesaian adalah 85,18%, pada aspek melaksanakan rencana adalah 79,62%, dan pada aspek memeriksa kembali adalah 68,51%. Kesimpulannya adalah kriteria sangat baik, kriteria baik, kriteria cukup, kriteria kurang, dan sangat kurang. Penyebab kesalahan peserta didik yaitu masih belum teliti dalam menentukan satuan dari jawaban yang diberikan, kurang memanfaatkan waktu dalam mengerjakan soal, lupa mengerjakan beberapa tahapan pemecahan masalah, dan masih belum paham sepenuhnya metode subsitusi dan metode eliminasi Saran untuk penelitian selanjutnya dapat mengambangkan menjadi beberapa tingkatan yang lebih spesifik

Abstract

Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah peserta didik mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami soal dan mengerjakannya terutama pada materi sistem persamaan linier dua variabel. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menerapkan metode pendekatan problem solving dengan model polya untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) dengan model yang dikembangkan oleh Kemmis & Mc Teggart. Penelitian dilaksanakan di SMP Modern Al-Rifa’ie Malang pada peserta didik kelas VIII-D dengan menggunakan subjek sebanyak 28 peserta didik tahun ajaran 2020/2021. Teknik dan Instrumen yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah wawancara, observasi, tes, dan dokumentasi.Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa, adanya peningkatan hasil belajar peserta didik aspek kognitif pada setiap siklus. Persentase ketuntasan rata-rata yang diperoleh pada siklus I yaitu 34% sedangkan persentase ketuntasan rata-rata pada siklus II yaitu 80%. Jadi persentase peningkatan yang terjadi pada siklus I dan II yaitu 46%. Kata Kunci: Penelitian tindakan kelas, problem solving model polya, hasil belajar.

Abstract

This study aims to produce an e-module based on mathematical literacy with a valid, effective, and feasible problem-based learning approach to improve students' mathematical reasoning in multivariable calculus material. This research used a development method with the stages: analysis, design, development, and evaluation. The research subjects involved fifth-semester students' mathematics education department. Small group trials with 17 students and large group trials with 35 students. The research instruments included validation sheets, student worksheets, questionnaires, and mathematical reasoning ability test questions. Data collection used the results of the validation as validity, test results as effectiveness, and the results of the questionnaire as feasibility. Data analysis was descriptively and qualitatively. The research produced an e-module based on mathematical literacy with a problem-based learning approach that is valid, very effective, and very feasible for improving students' mathematical reasoning abilities in multivariable calculus material. The developed e-module has the potential for significant differences and increases mathematical reasoning abilities. In addition, e-module can be used as an alternative solution to electronic teaching.

Abstract

Natural Sciences (IPA) subjects often demand the logic of students in translating science concepts through laboratory practicum analysis for schools with complete laboratory facilities. However, for schools that lack complete laboratory facilities and do not even have a laboratory, it will be difficult to realize practical learning to support students' critical thinking processes. Especially in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic which demands distance learning, educators find it difficult to express the aims and objectives of scientific theory which will be easier to understand if applied through practical learning. This community activity program aims to provide solutions to science teachers through training in the use of practicum-based interactive media using the proteus software application. It consists of three stages of implementation, namely preparation, implementation and evaluation. The results of the community service activities obtained are that science teachers obtain transfer of technological knowledge using interactive learning media through the proteus simulation software application and analyze the results of circuit analysis simulations in the dynamic electricity sub-chapter.

Abstract

The rapidly growing digital era demands everyone to master technology, especially students. Students are required to be technology literate, but there are still many students who are not technology literate, so they are not optimal in utilizing technology, especially in data analysis. The solution to these problems is holding service activities in the form of data analysis training using the SPSS statistical application with socialization, training and mentoring, presentations, discussion forums, and evaluations. The training activities with modules explained in detail the steps for entering data input, operating, and analyzing with examples of data, and data analysis exercises that were presented in an interesting way so that the students were not boring. Students were actively involved during the activity until the end of the activity and evaluation. This activity aims to improve the quality of students in data analysis using the SPSS statistical application. This training activity received a positive response, and the students were always active in participating in the activity until it was completed, so it can be concluded that the training activity was carried out very well and succeeded in accordance with the goals and targets set.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve the skills of prospective mathematics teachers on limit and integral mathematical software. The activities include training in mathematical software innovation on limit and integral. The training materials include the definition of mathematical software, installation, use of mathematical software in the form of maple math, material delivery, interactive dialogue, presentations, and evaluation. This is an indicator of the successful implementation of community service activities. The results of community service activities are mathematical software innovation modules on limit and integral. The module describes the use of mathematical software on limits and integrals for mathematical calculations and graphs. This community service activity received positive responses, and the results of prospective mathematics teachers’ presentations in applying mathematical software on limits and integrals were very good.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the reciprocal teaching which can improve students’ communication skills on math story problems at SMP Negeri 1 Pakisaji. This type of research is clasroom action research with a qualitative approach. The instruments is activity observation sheets, student activity observation sheets, field notes, interview guidelines and test questions. The data analysis uses qualitative methods, namely reduction, presentation, and conclusions. Based on the result of the study, it can be concluded that reciprocal teaching can improve students’ communication skkls on math story problems for SMP Negeri 1 Pakisaji.

Abstract

Discovery learning is a learning model that is useful for developing students' mathematical reasoning skills. This research aims to develop E-LKPD based on discovery learning that are valid, practical, and effective. This research uses the ADDIE approach (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). Product testing carried out included limited field trials to 10 students and extensive field trials to 24 students of SMP Negeri 1 Gondanglegi, Malang Regency. Data collection techniques utilize expert validation sheets, E-LKPD practicality questionnaires, and mathematical reasoning test sheets. The product validity tests conducted by experts (material, learning, and media experts) are declared valid with a score of 3.44. The product practicality test's results based on student responses obtained a score of 3.42 so it’s declared practical. The product effectiveness test's results obtained a completeness percentage of 70.8% and declared effective in learning activities. Students' reasoning ability is said to improve based on their test results. This study concludes that the E-LKPD based on Discovery Learning is valid, practical, and effective and can improve the students’ mathematical reasoning ability. It’s hoped that the E-LKPD developed used as mathematics teaching materials.
