Abstract

COVID-19 impacted the Grabag Village community's economic instability, resulting in the termination of employment. Grabag Village has the potential for persimmons as fresh fruit consumption, which lasts only less than two weeks. It is the background for the community empowerment activities for three months. The program aims to utilize membrane ultrafiltration technology and introduce the use of chitosan preservatives to the community. The implementation method applied includes the preparation, implementation, and evaluation stages. The results of this activity program show an increase in the knowledge of the partner community regarding the basic introduction of persimmon fruit, diversification of persimmon fruit products, and understanding of the production process with an average value of above 80%. However, only 75% of all partners understand online marketing from a technological point of view. Community assistance is needed to face the challenges of digitizing business actors to expand market share and reach increasingly widespread smartphone users. The community knows the potential of persimmon fruit, which can be used to make many processed products into ready-to-drink drinks. The partner also knows chitosan as a natural preservative and practices adding it directly to fruit juice, packaging, and labelling. After the socialization stage, the community is more educated regarding the procedures for making ready-to-sell persimmon juice from persimmon fruit.

Abstract

This study aims to develop teaching modules with PBL-STEM models on photosynthesis material. This research is a research and development using the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Develop, Implementation and Evaluate) development model developed by Raiser and Mollenda in the 1990s. The research and development involved two experts as validators. The data collection technique in this study was a validity questionnaire and a practicality questionnaire. The results of the media validity test on the aspects of cover design and module content design obtained a percentage of 88.4% with a very valid category. While the results of material expert validation which includes aspects of content feasibility, linguistic feasibility, presentation and self-study obtained a percentage of 100% with a very valid category. For the practicality assessment, the teacher and student responses showed that the product developed was very practical with a percentage score of 85.4% and 98.7% respectively. From the results of validity and practicality, it can be concluded that the teaching module with the PBL-STEM model of photosynthesis material can be declared valid and practical and is suitable for testing.  This research is expected to help educators in developing teaching modules, especially in science subjects and can be a reference for other researchers.

Abstract

Meningkatkan literasi siswa dapat dilakukan dengan berbagai cara. Di antaranya adalah penggunaan media pembelajaran sains. Artikel ini mencoba membahas materi pembelajaran IPA yang digunakan untuk meningkatkan literasi sains siswa sekolah dasar. Artikel semacam ini merupakan tinjauan pustaka yang menggunakan teknik analisis isi. Jurnal ini menggunakan Systematic Literature Review with Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA) pendekatan penulisan. Kriteria jurnal yang digunakan untuk penelitian ini antara lain: a) media diskusi pembelajaran; b) literasi sains; dan c) penerapan media pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan literasi sains di sekolah dasar. Pendekatan PRISMA dilaksanakan melalui serangkaian langkah, termasuk identifikasi, penyaringan, dan seleksi publikasi. Hasil penelitian atau kajian tersebut menunjukkan bahwa aksesibilitas media pembelajaran sangat penting untuk meningkatkan literasi sains, khususnya di sekolah dasar. Media Animasi Video, Media TIK, Media Audio Visual, Media Linktree, Buku Pop Up, Media Apollo dan Komet, Media Pagar Udara, Media Pembelajaran Menggunakan Software Ispring Suite 9, Buku Digital, dan Circuit Media Know Me adalah contoh pembelajaran tingkat tinggi media yang dapat meningkatkan literasi sains.

Abstract

AbstrakSalah satu kebutuhan manusia adalah berupa energi yang digunakan untuk kebutuhan sehari-harinya. Pada saat ini sumber energi semakin menipis. Maka dari itu diperlukan suatu energi alternatif baru dalam rangka untuk menunjang ketersediaan minyak di Indonesia. Salah satu energi alternatif yang dapat dimanfaatkan yaitu biodisel. Pada penelitian ini digunakan miroalga jenis Skeletonema costatum dengan alat ultrasonic elmasonic sebagai sonikator untuk membantu proses ekstraksi lebih cepat. Digunakan variabel suhu yang antara lain sebesar 50°C , 60°C, 70°C, 80°C dan variabel lama ekstraksi yaitu 60 menit, 120 menit, 180 menit dan menggunakan pelarut hekana. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa semakin lama waktu ekstraksi dan semakin besar suhu ekstraksi menunjukkan peningkatan pada minyak mikroalga  yang dihasilakan. Minyak mikroalga tertinggi dihasilkan pada perlakuan 70 OC dan 180 menit yaitu sebesar 18,44%. Dari hasil analisa GCMS terdapat puncak yang muncul sebanyak 10, dan yang terdapat kandungan asam lemak dalam minyak alga, yaitu hexadecanoic acid yang mempunyai waktu retensi pada 58,315 menit dengan kadar 74,48%.

Abstract

Livestock waste containing untreated protein feed can affect soil, air and air pollution and be a source of toxins. Chickens and those around them will know this by free ammonia. Broiler manure waste can be used as a high nitro- gen nutrient that can be used as a fertilizer with additives needed by plants to increase soil fertility. The purpose of this study was to create and analyze nitrogen-rich fertilizers from broiler manure that affect plant growth or fertili- zer efficiency on productivity, growth efficiency of water spinach (Ipomoea reptans Poir.). As a result, poultry com- post contained water (63.38), nitrogen (N) (2.400%), P2O5 (3.914%), and K2O (1.113%), so N levels, P, K (7.447%). It was performed for 14 days with 3 different nutritional sources. The most effective treatment for growing aquatic spinach was the use of a combination of soil and fertilizer applied in specific proportions to obtain stem height (23.55 cm), leaf number (6.2 leaves) and leaf width (3.1 cm). Results were better compared to other treatments.

Abstract

Batik sebagai salah satu potensi yang ada di Indonesia terkadang menggunakan pewarna sintetis yang mengandung bahan kimia. Limbah yang dihasilkan bisa jadi masih mengandung logam berat yang mempunyai toksisitas yang tinggi. Logam berat pada limbah batik yang mempunyai toksisitas tinggi tersebut antara lain logam timbal (Pb) yang biasanya berasal dari pewarna putih dan Kromium (Cr) dari pewarna merah. Solusi yang ditawarkan untuk mengurangi kadar Pb dan Cr pada limbah batik adalah melakukan proses adsorpsi menggunakan tongkol jagung. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui model kesetimbangan yang digunakan untuk melihat keefektifan tongkol jagung sebagai adsorben logam Pb dan Cr adalah Langmuir dan Freundlich dengan variasi konsentrasi Pb yaitu 10, 25, 50, 75, 100, 150 dan 200 mg/L dan Cr pada konsentrasi 500, 600, 700, 800, 900 dan 1000 mg/L. Model kesetimbangan isotherm adsorpsi logam Pb dan Cr menggunakan tongkol jagung dengan waktu kontak 60 menit, kecepatan pengadukan 100 rpm dan 150 rpm. Hasil analisis kesetimbangan adsorpsi isotherm Langmuir untuk logam Pb dan Cr menghasilkan kapasitas adsorpsi 4,25mg/g dan 4,46 mg/g. Analisis kesetimbangan adsorpsi isotermal Freundlich untuk logam Pb dan Cr menghasilkan tetapan kesetimbangan 3,31 dan 3,41. Kesimpulannya adalah model kesetimbangan adsorpsi Langmuir lebih sesuai digunakan untuk menentukan keefektifan proses adsorpsi logam Pb dan Cr menggunakan tongkol jagung pada limbah batik dibandingkan dengan model Freundlich.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempersiapkan karbon dari tempurung kemiri dengan proses karbonasi dan aktivasi KOH 1M yang digunakan untuk menjerap Fe2+ pada larutan. Proses aktivasi menghasilkan perubahan struktur dan gugus fungsi pada karbon aktif. Penelitian ini mempelajari pengaruh suhu karbonasi 800 0C dengan konsentrasi aktivator yaitu KOH 1M dengan waktu aktivasi 24 jam. Konsentrasi awal larutan mempengaruhi kapasitas adsorpsi karbon aktif, semakin besar konsentrasi awal larutan yaitu pada 5 mg/L maka kapasitas adsorpsi semakin besar. Adsorpsi optimum terjadi pada pH 7 dengan memberikan peningkatan penyerapan Fe2+ sebesar ± 7 mg/g dan waktu kontak 120 menit. Tinjauan kesetimbangan yang digunakan menggunakan model isoterm Langmuir dan Freundlich, dimana kesetimbangan yang paling cocok adalah model Isoterm Freundlich dengan nilai R2 = 0,9848 ; KF = 4,427; n = 3,475. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa karbon aktif tempurung kemiri mampu menyerap logam Fe2+ dalam larutan FeSO4.

Abstract

Milk is classified as an animal food that is easily damaged because it contains high nutrients and water, so it is ideal for microbial growth. The common milk preservation technique is pasteurization. However, in pasteurization, heat-resistant bacteria are still able to survive. This study aims to find Total Plate Counternative methods of processing cow's milk, namely by innovating the combination of ultraviolet-C radiation and pasteurization methods to reduce the number of milk microbes while still prioritizing quality and safety. The ultraviolet -C modified pasteurization apparatus was given three treatments, i.e. radiation process then pasteurization process, pasteurization process then radiation process, and simultaneous (combined) process. The results showed that the simultaneous process resulted in a reduction percentage of bacteria of 99.996%, from the number of bacteria in milk which was originally 6.2×106 to 1×103 CFU/mL. The shelf life of milk with the simultaneous method showed the best results with an TOTAL PLATE COUNT test of 10 CFU/ml after 6 months of storage. The results showed that the degree of acidity (pH) before and after treatment of the three sterilization methods did not show a significant change. Simultaneous method or ultraviolet C radiation modified pasteurization process can be an Total Plate Counternative method in milk sterilization and increase shelf life.

Abstract

Spent lithium NCA (LiNCA) battery was recycled using organic and inorganic acids and the performances were compared against the cathode synthesized from precursor. The metals in the spent cathode were leached using sulfuric or citric acid and coprecipitated into ternary metal oxalate (TMO) after reduction and lithium separation. Subsequently, the coprecipitated solution was used for cathode synthesis. Leaching efficiencies for nickel, cobalt and aluminum using citric acid were 85.6, 94.1, and 99%, respectively, while the efficiencies using sulfuric acid were 96, 98, and 100%, respectively. TMO produced from coprecipitation had the same physical characteristics. It was important to acknowledge that all cathodes also had similar physical characteristics. The electrochemical tests showed that commercial cathodes had the highest capacity of 150 mAh/g. This was followed by those from precursors, sulfuric acid leaching, and citric acid leaching, which recorded 142, 135, and 130 mAh/g, respectively. Based on the cycle test at 1C, the sample from citric acid leaching was 86% after 20 cycles compared to others at 82–83%. The results suggested that spent LiNCA could be regenerated into new cathodes using acid with performance comparable to those synthesized from precursor. This presented a viable alternative for LiNCA cathode synthesis.

Abstract

Glow discharge is part of the phenomenon of plasma formation on the electrode side in contact with the electrolyte solution and begins with an electrolysis reaction with direct electric current. In this research, 0.02 M K2SO4 electrolyte was used, the anode in the form of tungsten and stainless steel for the cathode in a direct current plasma electrolysis reactor. The phenomenon of plasma formation is explained using a strong current and voltage characteristic curve. There are three plasma formation zones: the ohmic zone, the transition zone and the glow discharge plasma zone. Air injection affects the formation of glow discharge plasma and radicals. Without the injection of air, radicals formed only •OH, •H and •O with emission intensities of 20012 a.u, 10121 a.u and 10245 a.u. Air injection 0.8 L men-1 produced radicals •OH, •N, •N2*, •N2+, •H and •O with emission intensities of 30863a.u, 20139 a.u, 28540 a.u, 18023 a.u, 12547 a.u and 49800 a.u. Many radicals are generated when the plasma reaches stability. The plasma is dominated by H2O ionization, and the plasma is more stable if formed in the gas phase. Other results from this research at 0 L men-1, 0.2 L men-1, 0.4 L men-1 and 0.8 L men-1 stable plasma were formed at 675 V, 660 V, 650 V and 650 V. The plasma that can be seen from the bright light, the injection of air accelerates the formation of a gas envelope to reduce energy.
