Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of work-study conflict on student engagement in working students. The subjects of this research were 266 undergraduate students in Indonesia who were actively working. Sampling used a non-probability sampling technique with a purposive sampling method. The research method used is a quantitative method with simple linear regression. The data collection technique uses a questionnaire with a Likert scale. The measuring tool uses the Student Engagement Scale by Nilna Mafaza, Fajar Kawuryan, and Ridwan Budi Pramono in 2021 and the Work-Study Conflict Scale by Rizky Rahmatul Zamarni in 2022. The results show that there is a negative and significant influence of work-study conflict on student engagement in students working. This means that if work-study conflict decreases, student engagement increases. The work-study conflict variable contributed to student engagement by 42.7%, while the remaining 57.3% was influenced by other factors not examined in this research. The majority of partisipants were in the category of high student engagement and low work-study conflict.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the factors influencing the purchase intention of environmentally friendly products, specifically electric motorcycles, among potential users. The research adopts a quantitative approach. The sample consists of 532 respondents who are considered potential users of electric motorcycles. The instruments used include: Attitude towards green products (adapted from McCarty and Shrum, 1994), Subjective norms and perceived behavioral control (adapted from Armitage and Conner, 1999), Green purchase intention (adapted from Chang and Chen, 2008), Collectivism (adapted from Sharma, 2010), Ecological knowledge (adapted from Akbar et al., 2014). Data analysis used Pearson correlation to examine relationships between variables and hierarchical regression to test two models. The results indicate that attitude towards green products, subjective norms, perceived behavioral control, ecological knowledge, and collectivism are significantly related to green purchase intention. The first hierarchical regression model revealed that these variables collectively explain 32.2% of the variance in green purchase intention. The second model, which incorporates collectivism and ecological knowledge, exhibits an increase in explanatory power, with an R-squared change of 0.035, or 3.5%. The study implies that enhancing collectivism and ecological knowledge can increase potential electric motorcycle users' intentions to adopt such vehicles. Therefore, it is recommended that the government provide collective education about electric motorcycles and enhance ecological knowledge among potential users in the community.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to determine the effect of the need for cognition and the need for affection towards the intention of spreading fake news. This research used an experimental design by giving the participants some manipulations in the form of fake news. The study examined whether the participant spreads the news provided based on their different need orientations. The results of this study indicate that there was a significant relationship between the need for affection and the need for cognition in terms of spreading false news. This study also investigated the variation of the tendency to spread the news based on both need scores. Although predictions are related to participants who have high or low scores who tend to spread false news, further research is needed.

Abstract

Instagram, as a social media platform, has been associated with increased levels of FOMO due to its emphasis on sharing personal experiences and achievements. Additionally, research shows that FOMO can lead to excessive engagement with Instagram, including constantly checking for updates, obsessively scrolling through feeds, and feeling anxious or irritable when unable to access the platform. This excessive use can lead to negative consequences such as decreased productivity, poor sleep quality, and difficulty forming and maintaining relationships. This study explores the mitigative role of education against the backdrop of increasing social media addiction and Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) among adolescents in Jakarta. Employing a mixed-methods approach with quantitative surveys among 211 adolescents aged 11-24, it assesses the correlation between FOMO and addiction levels, alongside evaluating digital literacy and mental health awareness programs. Results reveal a significant positive correlation between FOMO and social media addiction, with educational interventions showing promise in fostering responsible social media use. The study emphasizes the importance of integrating digital literacy into educational curricula to equip adolescents with the necessary skills to navigate the digital landscape healthily. Its novelty lies in highlighting educational strategies within a social context as effective tools for combating the psychological impacts of social media, offering a significant contribution to the discourse on digital well-being among the youth.

Abstract

Father involvement in early childhood is a critical determinant of children’s cognitive development, emotional stability, social competence, and academic achievement. In Indonesia, however, fathers’ participation in parenting remains relatively low, influenced by cultural norms, gender expectations, and work-related demands. This community service program, implemented at TK Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal 23 GDC in Depok, sought to strengthen father involvement through a community-based workshop approach. The program featured interactive sessions, experience sharing, and role-play activities aimed at enhancing fathers’ parenting knowledge and skills. Core topics included effective communication, bonding activities, and strategies for balancing work and family responsibilities. Participants reported gaining valuable insights and practical tools to support their roles as emotionally and socially responsive caregivers. Overall, this initiative underscores the importance of redefining fatherhood in contemporary Indonesian families and contributes to the broader vision of cultivating a strong, character-driven generation in preparation for Indonesia Emas 2045.

Abstract

Abstract

Addressing mental health issues among Indonesian college students is crucial due to the high prevalence of stress. Students face significant stress from academic workloads, challenging assignments, and financial constraints, which can lead to long-term consequences such as academic decline, diminished quality of life, and social dysfunction. Despite this need, universities often lack sufficient mental health support due to social-psychological barriers and resource limitations. While individuals may independently manage early-stage stress symptoms—referred to as coping—students require empirically validated, effective, and accessible coping strategies. One emerging coping model is instilling self-compassion (SC), which involves showing unconditional kindness to oneself when facing pressure. SC can be delivered through writing interventions as a means of self-help. Data were collected from 32 student participants using a within-subject experimental design to measure stress (Perceived Stress Scale/PSS), well-being (Satisfaction with Life/SWLS), and self-compassion (Self-Compassion Scale/SCS). The data analysis technique used was Repeated Measure ANOVA. The study results showed that the self-compassion writing intervention was not effective in reducing stress, nor was it effective in improving well-being and self-compassion. Abstract

Academic resilience is the ability to endure and recover from difficulties, and it is a key factor in students' educational success, helping them adapt and continue progressing in their studies. Depression is a mental health disorder characterized by feelings of sadness, pessimism, loneliness, and sometimes has a familial tendency. It is associated with morbidity and mortality, often caused by substance abuse or suicidal tendencies. This explanation highlights that depression is a serious issue that can affect anyone and needs to be addressed with proper care and action. The sample in this study consisted of 118 respondents, who were students from a private school, aged 11-18 years, and had experienced bullying. Data collection in this research used two types of scales: the Indonesian Academic Resilience Scale Development and Validation, using Rasch Models, developed by Ramdani, Hanurawan, Ramli, Lasan, & Afdal in 2021, and the Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale (CES-D) developed by Radloff, L. S. (1977). The analysis method used in this study was regression analysis to examine the relationships between variables. The results indicated a significant influence of academic resilience on depression, with p = 0.032 < 0.05, meaning it has a 3.2% impact.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of self-concept on the quality of friendships among female adolescents in an all-girls full-day school environment. The research employs a quantitative non-experimental design with a cross-sectional approach, utilizing simple linear regression analysis. The participants consist of female junior high school students attending a full-day school exclusively for girls in Bogor. The instruments used in this study include the Tennessee Self Concept Scale 2nd Edition (TSCS 2nd Edition) to measure self-concept and the Friendship Quality Scale (FQUA) to assess the quality of friendships. The regression results indicate a positive and significant correlation between self-concept and friendship quality (r = 0.424; p < 0.001), with self-concept contributing 18% of the variance in friendship quality. These findings suggest a significant influence of self-concept on the quality of friendships among female adolescents in the all-girls school setting.
